We just closed our Series B funding round with our VC partner, Sequoia Capital who invested an additional $12 million into Jive. For the example, the authentication information is stored in the Web application settings; in our case, this is attach.settings. When a user requests the root URL the code establishes a BOSH session by making HTTP requests to the BOSH connection manager and passing along the credentials. In the code, the attach.boshclient.BOSHClient class sets up the BOSH session and keeps track of its state.

Since upgrading to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), I’ve been frustrated by Terminal’s focus follows mouse behavior. I typically like such behavior but it’s broken as of 10.6. I would frequently CMD-Tab to switch to a different application and start typing only to wonder why my keyboard was not working, then realize my input had gone to the Terminal which sometimes was no longer even visible. To fix this, type the following in Terminal: defaults write com.apple.

This trailer shows a the website project created by Andreas Lutz as part of a study project and is rather inspirational. The website uses video and sound input to control the navigation, so basically you navigate using gestures and voice. Make sure you try it out for yourself on Andreas’ website as well.

I take a sample of 215 bands including those on top of the Billboard 200 (who are these people?) and calculate an average number of plays per each listener (via last.fm data).
