With the evolution of the information age, where writers are getting
more stylish, specific and creative, and readers getting more choosier
with what they read, one sure way to succeed as a writer is to always
be one step ahead. Whether you write articles, blogs, ebooks,
information products, reviews, newsletters...., I encourage you to
make every effort towards developing your writing skills. On that note
I present to you, 3 keywords that will guarantee you success as a
writer, if you build your writing on them.

1. SPECIALIZATION.

If you have been trying to write on any subject that comes your way,
you may never success as a writer. You'd probably be a "jack of all
trade, master of none". One word you need to add to your list is
'Specialization'. Everything is happening very fast with the highly
competition market. So if you are trying to touch everything, you will
be left behind. More and more people are acquiring and developing
their skills on a particular subject. People are deviating from the
general to the specific way of writing. Readers are more interested in
specific, short and straight-to-the-point reports than the 100-paged
all inclusive comprehensive course initially adopted. Especially when
they can find what they want in 10 pages.
The key then, is for you to carve out a niche of your interest and
specialize on it. You can do some research to decide. The web is all
yours.
Rather that target one million readers with an all inclusive, large
volume, generalized topic, it is better to target 10,000 readers with
a precise straight to the point information. Avoid trying to put it
all in one envelop at a time.

1. Instead of wasting all the time trying to write a whole book, you
can write a small informative report in few hours.
2. If you sell your information as products, a small 10-15 pages
report will be low cost and easily affordable for readers.
3. You can later create a book in form of a comprehensive course with

5. You won't scare away lazy readers with large volume of information.

2. CREATIVITY.

The next keyword to consider is Creativity. With the high level of
competition in writing online and offline, it will take a creative
mind to survive and succeed. You can teach people techniques, but you
cannot teach creativity, you can only encourage it. I still believe
there is a creative part in all of us and we can use it in anything we
set to do. So i encourage you to pursue developing that creativity in
you.
Sometimes, as a writer or an intending writer, ideas come freely to
your head one after another. The ideas keeps flowing until you start
feeling like you've already written a book in your head. But when you
decide to start writing the whole pages, you start running short of
the ideas. The ideas were their or at least used to be but because you
did not tap into it at the right time, they crawl out.
Sounds familiar? That is creativity at work in you and it only
require you tap into it. Here is some steps can use to tap from that
resource.

1.Don't wait until you are all set to write before you start writing.

2. Each time an idea crawls to your mind, no matter where you are,
find some thing, a piece of paper or your mobile phone, and put it
down. You can use describtive words you can remember. Don't struggle
to get it all arranged. It's meant to be a rough work so the rougher
the better.

3. When you are set to write, start with rearranging your ideas in
points as best you can. You can do this over and over for better
results.

4. Be generous enough to rule out unnecessary points. Some points may
be better with a new topic.

5. Start writing with ease. Your work will be easier and faster.
A well written job in 3 days is better than an anxiously compiled job
in 3 hours. So take your time, a break if necessary.

6. Read other writers work, learn from them and come out creatively
better for your writing.

3. SIMPLICITY.

Simple is always as digestible as the sound of the word 'simple'.
Google did set a good example on how dynamic simplicity can be. Notice
the simplicity in Google's websites compared to other advertising
companies like Yahoo. This did give Google an added advantage in the
advertising world. Simple, is a key to success, even with writing. So
I suggest you adopt the simple style of writing. Trying to sound
complex gets you and your readers more confused. Write, so that
virtually every class of readers will appreciate, understand and if
necessary take action on your information.

Writing, as it is, is an art that requires practice of some sort, no matter the content of your writing and your target audience. Writing is an effective way of sending your opinions, emotional feelings and thoughts to people. Like any form of communication, whether as a public speaker, moderator or writer, there must be an established relationship between the message and the recipient, for deliverer to achieve his aim, and that is the job of the messenger(speaker, writer); to ensure safe and effective delivery. However, here are some important steps to follow while writing, whether as a book writer, article writer, freelance writer or information marketer. No matter your class of writing, this guide is very effective if carefully followed.
1. A book or article is not for the author or writer but for the readers.

2. A book or article with simple words is far better than one with big vocabularies. So your writing should be as plain and self-explanatory as possible.

3. Writing is a virtual communication between the writer and the reader; like public speaking. There must be a clear relationship between the writer, the writing and the recipient.

4. It is not advicable to try to generalise your topic and content. Be specific and write within boundary. For instance, rather than choosing 'Search Engines' for a topic, ' How to get the best results from Search Engine' would be more specific, and reader inviting.

5. Your content should not deviate from your topic. Always stay in course. Give your readers what you promise from your topic.

6. Trying to over-emphasize may be as detrimental as not explaining at all. Give the best explanation you can and write-on. This will make your readers get more interested to read on ,since it'll all be making sense to them.

7. Write to make your readers ponder over your writing and possibly act on it. This is a sure way to make them want to come back for more.

8. Go through your writing as though you are the reader and see what effect it could have on you. In other words, put yourself in the readers shoe.

In general see writing as a good way to talk to someone, formally or informally. Writing is the key to selling online or offline. Following these simple steps will surely improve your writing skill as a book author, freelance-writer, article writer or information marketer.
