Fire with injuries reported at Wilson Middle School

Update: Cumberland County Public Safety Communications say the incident at Wilson Middle School in Carlisle is now under control. Five students have been transported to the hospital. The injured students' families have been reached at this time.

Attempted abduction of middle school girl in Lancaster City

Police in Lancaster City are searching for an unknown white male that attempted to abduct a 13-year old girl on her way to school Monday morning. At around 8:15 a.m., officers were alerted by Reynolds Middle School that the incident occurred in the area of the 100 block of Nevin Street.

York County Food Bank Shifting its Focus; Preparing for Christmas

The York County Food Bank Hopes to Collect More than 200,000 Pounds of Food Next Month

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, the York County Food Bank is now shifting its focus to Christmas. By month’s end, the organization expects to reach its typical November goal of 200,000 pounds of food distributed to its 130 distribution partners. In December that goal increases by at least 25,000 pounds. The food bank’s executive director told FOX43 while donations have not decreased from last year, they have failed to increase. Unfortunately however, families in need have increased by 10% for a total of about 7,000 York County residents.

Major Push to Protect Children From Abuse By State Task Force

A major push to protect children from abuse at the state capitol today.A panel, created in the wake of the Jerry Sanduksy Child Sex Abuse Scandal releases its recommendations. And they're calling for sweeping changes to current PA laws. This task force says they have spent the last year focusing on children, recommending that laws be changed. They start out by rewriting the child protective services law, redefining what constitutes child abuse. They recommend expanding mandatory reporters of abuse to include college administrators, employees, and coaches. These mandatory reporters would sign an oath ,and be required to call the ChildLine number.

Slick roads cause school bus accident in Mifflin County

A school bus driver and eight students were injured after crashing on a snow covered road in Mifflin County on Tuesday morning. It happened just before 7:30 a.m. along the 1200 block of River Road in Bratton Township.
