The 24-year-old who comes from Elliston, OH and is now currently residing in Toledo was almost forced out of the contest last week because of a medical issue. That happened on the day of the show and prompted the organizers to switch days with the boys. On the following day, same thing happened. They had to wait for the go signal of the doctor to know if she is fit to sing in the show. The go signal was given only ten minutes before airtime.

But with everything that happened, she subsequently pulled it out of the rabbit’s hat and made a good impression to the judges with her interpretation of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s song – Long As I Can See The Light, on Wednesday night’s live performance show.

Cowell said to Bowersox that he is promising that this is like the time we become conscious about Kelly Clarkson that we have a serious artist here, after her performance. He thinks there is a serious artist in her and congratulated her.

Leno also asked Cowell about some of the success of American Idol finalists who did not win and he said again the comments before he made about runner-up Adam Lambert of eighth-season.

Cowell said that he sometimes thinks it is becoming a popularity contest. This is what he thought happened in the previous year. He like who won but personally, he thought the winner should have been Lambert who was as an overall artist.

He also continued as saying that there is a possibility of Paula Abdul, the former judge of American Idol of becoming a judge on his reality series, The X Factor when it launches in Fall 2011 on Fox. He said that he is not sure yet but definitely they will be working together but not in American Idol.

There is no doubt that the pressure to be the best is only rising and the guys better give in more than a 100 %, if not Thursday will be the last day for a couple of them. Thursday is the much dreaded day for most of the contestants, especially the ones who know that they’ve performed badly and not as expected, be it because of song choice or whatever.

The girls were awesome in their performance during yesterday, although there were a couple of them whom you knew didn’t do as well as the others. Katie Stevens came up first, and she didn’t give a stellar performance, although her voice is really amazing. All the judges commented alike.

A few of the contestants that stood out from the rest were Didi (she did a much better job this time with her Taylor Swift like voice). The other one who was top of the chip was Siobhan Mangus who is a talent apart and seemed to capture the audience with her splendid rendition of “House of the Risking Sun.”

The title for the best performance of the night however went to Crystal Bowersox. She is really different and beats the rest of the contestants to it fair and square. Simon in his interview at the Jay Leno show even mentioned that she was his favorite. Her version of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Give Me One Reason” was mind blowing.

Let’s hope the deserved stay back.

Surprise of all surprises! Well you shouldn’t be so, not after you seen the episode when Ellen mentioned that Simon ran a finger on her legs. You should have seen the sly smile on Simon’s face, he seemed to be enjoying this terribly and thoroughly. After all getting this much attention from someone in a singing competition is not an everyday matter. Especially if you are one of those judges who is booed at almost every time he criticizes a favored contestant.

The sight was a sure show stopper, with Ellen sitting on Simon Cowell’s lap and happily nuzzling and we expected the screen to blow up with a lot of fire and steam.

Well that was not the only reason why the screen would blow up.

Taking stage and giving another stunning performance was that of all the 8 women contestants. They sure seemed to have the coveted crown twinkling in their eyes.

However like always there were some who really lit up the stage with their performance. Some of the girls even gave a ‘star’ moment, while some seemed a little distant from it.

John Fisher of the Los Angeles Superior Court told the Army reservist who is only 25 years old, (What a waste of life!) that he would have to go in for a psychiatric evaluation that would be held in prison itself. Once the evaluation is done, he will be summoned back into court so that he is formally sentenced on June 14th.

The twist to this tale is that lawyers of the accused seemed to be smart enough to bring about the no contest plea. This leaves Uzomah liable only for two other counts of misdemeanor which is an attempt at not obeying a court order because of his compulsive behavior. Last fall there was another charge which was the restraining order for ignoring behavior.

The sentencing will formally dismiss the additional charges against it. Currently he faces a maximum charge of two years in prison.

After the entire world discovering that Tiger Woods cheated on his wife more than a dozen women, it seems, Elin had packed up her shiz and left the house. A seeming divorce was looming. Elin made moves that made us all think she was going to leave this philandering golfer and take half his belongings and half of all his cash. But could it be that money has motivated Elin to bring a stereotypical “stand by your man” attitude in her decision to move back in with Tiger? Sources are saying that Elin has had a change of mind and will be moving back in with Tiger. Of course, she’ll argue it’s for the children’s sake, but really Elin, have you no pride or sense of self worth? Being cheated on once and taking someone back, okay we buy it. Twice? Iit’s becoming a stretch. Being cheated on, Lord knows how many times, with more than a dozen women and then taking a man back screams stupidity or gold digging.

Have some pride Elin.

Supposedly the high IQ ex-governor of Alaska has been meeting with Mark Burnett, famed reality television show producer, and talking to him about a “planet earth type” reality show she would like to star in. If this isn’t the biggest oxymoron, then we don’t know what is. Sarah Palin and planet earth? Isn’t this the genius hillbilly that shoots moose for fun?

And after meeting with Burnett, she also met with Fox and CBS. We just hope these network executives are just going through the motions of hearing her out and then allowing whatever she says to go out the other ear.

Jada Pinkett-Smith considers Queen Latifah a very good friend of hers. The two women attended a recent event called the “Power Award” at the third annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. Jada was being honored and as she was receiving her award and making her speech she became chocked up over the recent death of her father who suffered a heart attack. “My father died last week, and I’m flying tomorrow to bury him,” said Jada. “But I wanted to come because when those types of losses happen a lot of things get illuminated and your priorities fall in line.”

Through teary eyes Jada also said, “When I think about Latifah I think about a woman who makes me feel loved. She can sit in the throne of my soul and just be there with me. She makes me laugh.” Soon Jada became too chocked up to even finish her speech and found herself standing by herself on stage with everyone’s eyes on her until her good friend Queen Latifah came up and just stood beside her. Jada continued by saying, “This is what I’m talking about. I don’t see her a lot, but she’s my girl.”
Sometimes being a good friend is just standing by showing support. Nice move Queen Latifah.

When asked about this criticism a pissed off Sean said, “I guess I’ve been so away from it all– and our tent camp in Haiti that I haven’t had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them,” he says. “You know, do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”

Sounds like these critics are just jealous haters.

Second, how the hell do they have footage? In any case, their fame seeking lawyers say the footage was edited “in a manner that was completely inconsistent with what really took place.” According to the suing couple Ronnie and Sammi were antagonizing them and throwing out homophobic words and insults at them. Their lawyers also claim they signed the release forms when they were “clearly intoxicated” so it shouldn’t be a valid release agreement.

Okay, you were too intoxicated to have made the proper decision in signing the agreement but not too intoxicated to remember what really happened? Yeah right fame seekers.

According to a guy named Zhou Shaomou, he wrote a story like “Avatar” back in 1997. His novel is called “Tale of the Blue Crows” and now he wants James Cameron to pay him a hell of a lot of money.

Zhou tells us that “Avatar” is 80% similar to his novel. “It tells the story of an epic journey taken by six astronauts to a distant planet which is home to a race of blue-skinned beings. I wrote in my novel that their space journey took them six years but in Cameron’s movie the journey takes them five years, nine months and 22 days. I was shocked when I first saw that. It is too close’ says Zhou.

Well, we do have to agree that this is very similar. But what to do? We’re sure others are going to come out and say similar things. Zhou wants $145 million for copyright infringement. Damn. Good luck Zhou. You’re going to be fighting a huge machine. Take the settlement and keep quiet. We’re sure the settlement will be a lot of money anyway.
