Any mistake could lead to extensive bleeding. It takes a lot of carefulness to do vagina shaving. The vagina becomes ultra sensitive, just before, during and after the menstrual cycle. So the vagina shaving should be done after the periods.

A lot of women believe that the pubic hairs protect the vagina from bacteria as well as friction. But there is also a belief that the pubic hair actually breeds bacteria, which is the reason behind the unpleasant vaginal odors. Also if the pubic hair shaving is regularly practiced, then there is no possibility of friction.

Females get injured while shaving the vagina. Vagina shaving can be done while standing in the tub or taking a shower with one leg up, with taking support of something not slippery. A toilet seat is a good option. On a toilet seat, it is easy to reach all the vagina area and it makes the shaving very easy. Vagina shaving involves shaving the pubic hairs around the vagina and the stray hairs inside the edge of the major labia lips.

Women who practice vagina shaving say that it makes them feel not only fresher and cleaner, but also more attractive. Another best thing of vagina shaving is that the hairs do not get caught in the panties. Women say vagina shaving gives more sensual and attractive look. Vagina shaving increases the sexual pleasure. Men find women more attractive if hairs are not down there. It is often complaint about the men that it is really unpleasant to get the pubic hairs into the mouth.

Actually, a smooth vaginal area with no single hair increases the sensitivity in a woman and responsiveness in a man.
Shaving should be done in the direction the hair growth. It should begin with the lower part of the vagina. Both the sides should be done first and then the front.

The skin of the vagina should not be given too much pressure. Also repeated strokes should be avoided. These actions only irritate the skin.

For the major labia lips, the skin should be pulled and flatten tautly in one hand while using the razor across with the other. This part of the vagina is the most sensitive, so proper care should be taken while shaving.

Vagina should be washed with warm water to remove any remaining lubricant. Then again with cold water, the vagina should be rinsed off. This closes the pores and calms the irritation.

When the hairs are removed in large amount, the shaving should be done against the way the hair grows. This gives a close and clean shave.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-63508143150910554452010-06-16T20:18:00.000-07:002010-06-16T20:28:25.064-07:00Vagina the Right Size and Does Size MatterThe Brits studied the vulvas and vaginas of premenopausal women and compared them. You may wonder why I mentioned vaginas and vulvas separately. While most women think of their vaginas and vulvas as a complete package; not so in medical circles. They look at the vagina as more of a penis receptacle and birth canal and the vulva is considered a doorway and pleasure center. If they only knew.

In this British study at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital, in London, they measured everything about the vulva: the size of the clitoris; the size and location of the urethra; the size, color, texture and thickness of the labia; the location in relation to your anus. You get the idea. In another study they took measurements of the vaginas of 39 women.

Here is what they found: “women vary widely in genital dimensions.” Or in other words everybody is different and variety is normal. They did find that genital dimensions tend to mirror body type: the bigger a woman is and the taller she is the more likely she is to have a slightly larger vagina. A bigger role in vaginal size was age and the number of times a woman had given birth. The doctors found the length of the vagina varied between 2 ¾ inches and 5 ¾ inches while the width was between just under 2 inches to 2 ½ inches.

Another factor even more important for vagina size than a woman’s body type, age and number of child births are the strength and size of the vagina muscles or pelvic floor. Women with poor pelvic muscle development have vagina muscles as small as a ½ inch thick, while women with healthy and strong vaginas have muscles 2 inches thick or more.

While a woman can’t change the appearance and location of her vagina she can control the tightness, strength and health of her vagina through proper pelvic exercise. While Kegel exercises are a good place to start, for a woman to properly exercise her vagina muscles and get the maximum benefits (not only a tight vagina but better orgasms too) she needs to use a pelvic exerciser.

Women have a great advantage over men in this regard. While it is possible for man to make his penis larger, the process is painful and takes months. For a woman who uses a pelvic exerciser she can tighten herself up in just a few weeks and the process is easy and enjoyable.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-26350352898890846942010-05-08T20:37:00.000-07:002010-05-08T20:49:15.310-07:00Vagina Health & SmellThe vagina, similar to our mouth, is normally inhabited by a multitude of microscopic organisms.

The vagina's acidic environment prevents one species overpowering another, and inhibits infection. A healthy vagina actually smells quite sweet and pleasant.

Yet the change that occurs with any vaginal infection changes the smell immediately, and thus one can partially judge a vagina's state of health by its smell.

It should be noted that both the smell of a vagina and its being infected are directly related to a woman's lifestyle, her weight, and diet.

Some basic rules on Feminine Hygiene can both prevent infections and insure a sweet smelling vagina as well.

Hygiene

Because infectious agents such as bacteria and yeasts are found in the intestine, after defecation a woman must wipe herself from front to back vaginal area first, rectum after.

A bidet or immediate wash of the anus is also advised, with a rinse of the vulva with warm water.

Washing also the genital area often with a special ph balanced soap is also essential, and especially after each urination

Vaginal irrigation is not necessary as it usually disturbs the acid environment, and can allow yeast, for example, to flourish.

Women should discourage vaginal and anal intercourse alternation during he same session.

Once a man's penis or any object has entered the anus, it must not be allowed back in the vagina without disinfection.

Life-Style

Tight jeans and clothing look great, but they prevent the normal breathing function of the skin and especially an area like the vulva. This closed in effect will produce an unpleasant smell

For the same reason, woman is recommended not to wear panties during sleep.

Use of synthetic materials in clothing will also react with the bacteria on the skin, and the bacteria's waste product leaves a particularly unpleasant smell, so wear only 100% pure cotton or silk panties a majority of the time.

If you use tampons, change them very often. Left too long in a vagina, the tampon itself will be a major cause of order and even infection.

Diet

It has been shown that diet can affect directly the smell of the vagina. Eating less meat and meat products, and more fruit and vegetables have a very good effect on vaginal odor. Also, you must drink at least 2 liters of water daily.

Sexual Conduct

The use of prophylactics (condoms) is highly recommended for all couples except those that are very familiar. Also if you allow a man to insert either his fingers or toys into your vagina, try to insure both are clean.

Vaginal Infections

This subject is covered in other articles dedicated to this subject, but any of the below can (and does) cause unpleasant vagina odor. In each and every incidence, you must see your gynecologist.

Bacterial Vaginosis.

This gives the characteristic fishy smell.

Yeast Infections.

Most women do not see their doctor with yeast infection, and resort to over-the-counter medicines. Symptoms include vulvar itching, redness and irritation. Painful intercourse. We recommend seeing a gynecologist.

Trichomoniasis.

This is a sexually transmitted illness with symptoms including vaginal itching, burning, and discharge. See your gynologist.

A bit of care goes a long way. Your vagina was meant to smell sweetly and as it normally cleans itself (both monthly and daily) your caution will be rewarded.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-78334887288552485222010-05-08T20:01:00.000-07:002010-05-08T20:30:47.041-07:00Vagina Health Tips for a Sweet SmellAll women need to be aware of their vagina's health. Keeping it healthy means you will avoid infections and also have a pleasant odor and the tips enclosed will ensure that you have optimum vagina health

A healthy vagina is home to a huge variety of minute organisms. Normally, they live harmoniously in an acidic environment that prevents the overproduction of any one species in the vagina and helps combat foreign bodies that can infect it.

Vaginal infections are common and occur when the delicate balance is disrupted can cause discomfort in the area and unpleasant smells.

Firstly, the health of a women's Vagina and the smell are influenced by overall lifestyle, diet and weight.

If you follow the tips below you can ensure a healthy vagina so here they are:

1. Your Overall Diet

Eat a healthy diet. Cigarettes alcohol and drugs should be eliminated if you can or cut down, as should heavily spiced foods and junk food.

Try and eat as naturally as possible (food free of additives) and make sure you drink lots of water. What you put into your body comes out in its secretions and the vagina is the same. Ever noticed how your sweat smells differently after eating spiced food, then you will realize why this is so important.

2. Cleaning

Odor-producing bacteria can thrive on the vulva and need to be cleaned off regularly to prevent vaginal inflections and prevent odors.

Washing the genital area daily with a simple, fragrance-free soap is normally enough to keep the vagina area clean and fresh.

Your vagina self-cleans itself so douching is not required.

Furthermore, douching upsets the delicate balance between good and bad bacteria in the vaginal ecosystem and can actually be harmful.

Because infections such as yeasts are found in the intestine, it is important after going to the toilet to wipe front to back i.e. you need to wipe the vagina area first and the rectum last!

During sex it is also very important to avoid contamination of the vagina area with organisms and bodies from the bowel, or rectum area.

3. Clothes to wear

To prevent vaginal infections and keep your vagina healthy make sure your clothing allows the area to breath. To do this avoids tight garments and fabrics containing a high percentage of synthetic fibers such as nylon.

Remember, that tampons and diaphragms left for too long in the vagina can create a very strong unpleasant odor as well.

4. Safe sex

Finally, if you don't know your partner very well, always Use a condom and a spermicidal to reduce the chances of infection and disease.

If you are unlucky enough to get an infection, the symptoms are outlined below of three of the most common ones.

The good news is that to reclaim a healthy vagina is easy, if you are alerted to the problem and take action.

1. Bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) accounts for more than 50% of all vagina related health visits.

About half of all women with BV vaginal infections have no obvious symptoms.

The most common symptom is a thin, white to light grey discharge with an offensive fishy like smell that is extremely unpleasant.

The odor is strongest when the discharge is exposed to any alkaline substance and this includes soap and semen, it will therefore be at its strongest and most obvious after cleaning or sex.

BV is easy to treat and is normally treated by a course of antibiotics prescribed by a doctor.

2. Yeast

Although yeast infections are probably the most common type of vaginal infection, many women never bother to seek help.

Most simply recover naturally and others treat themselves with anti-fungal vaginal creams available without prescription from the chemist.

Symptoms of yeast infections include:

Vulvar itching combined with irritation in the vagina area and redness.

If the urinary opening becomes inflamed, urination will increase and discomfort will be present. If the infection is severe, the vulva will swell and fine breaks, called fissures occur. This causes vaginal discharges to become thicker and whiter.

Yeast infections are the result of excessive growth of a family of fungi that normally live in any healthy vagina, but when they increase the balance of the vagina is upset and problems occur.

The most common infection is vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), which is usually caused by a fungus named Candida albicans.

There are two types of VVC:

Uncomplicated, a mild infection that responds to therapy. Or recurrent which, is more severe and often occurs in women who have diabetes or are infected with less treatable forms of yeast, such as Candida glabratia.

Recurrent VVC, normaly occurs more than four times a year and needs a long initial treatment of around two weeks and then a follow-up therapy course for up to 6 months or longer.

Certain factors are common causes such as nylon and Lycra clothing that traps heat and moisture, so be aware of our clothing tips for a healthy vagina we noted earlier.

Other common causes include:

Obesity, pregnancy, diabetes and suppression of the immune system during illnesses, the use of oral contraceptives, and eating excessive amounts of sugars, starch, and yeasts.

If you do have a yeast vaginal infection, your doctor will ordinarily treat you with either prescription or nonprescription antifungal creams and suppositories referred to earlier.

If you have a problem get professional help and you will soon have a healthy vagina. Do not ignore symptoms or think they will go away get help quickly.

3. Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis, or "trich," is a sexually transmitted vaginal infection suffered by a huge amount of women worldwide and this runs into tens of millions. While infection with trichomoniasis can be uncomfortable, it is not in anyway a serious threat to overall health.

The symptoms are normally vulvar and vaginal burning and itching. The burning is normally at its height after intercourse.

In addition, there may be vulvar swelling and frequent and uncomfortable urination. There is a heavy vaginal discharge, usually yellowish or green, which may or may not have an offensive smell.

The trichomonad is a minute parasite. It has three tails at its narrow end and swims with them and the white blood cells of the body follow.

These blood cells literally chase down the trichomonad and kill it by eating it.

Symptoms occur only when the body's natural defense are swamped by with sheer number of reproducing trichomonads and the white blood cells cannot cope.

Trichomoniasis is usually easily diagnosed and antibiotic treatment cures it in the majority of cases.

Follow the tips above for a healthy vagina and if you do have a problem don't worry or be embarrassed simply seek help quickly and clear up the problem, in the vast majority of cases treatment is quick, easy and painlessAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-52708063120995315852009-05-26T12:06:00.000-07:002009-05-26T12:13:47.298-07:00vaginal odour treatmentWhat vaginal odour treatment is best for me? This is a question to be answered by your doctor and not from any unfamiliar source. Vaginal odour treatments come in many varied types, why? Quite simply in reply is because odours come varied too. Women need not fret because there may be a perfectly simple explanation for the odour occurring. However it is in your best interest to speak to your doctor to clarify this. If your GP detects a vaginal infection - then in a mad sort of way this is good news because, should no cause be found for why the odour then matters of confusion may prevail from trying to treat the unknown.

You are not to cower in a corner and live like a recluse. This is a natural and normal happening connected to the female and can happen to us all. The vagina is a self cleaning organ and one that is odourless. In reality no woman has a smelly vagina. What they have is a vagina which has reason to smell at times through causes. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of different bacteria. The chief symptom is vaginal discharge. BV is the most common cause of vaginal discharge. Discharge is often a greyish white and smells fishy. If you notice changes in your discharge in any shape or form seek medical advice.

Treating bacterial vaginosis is fairly straight forward. Treatment normally is a three to seven night prescription of Cleocin 2% vaginal cream. Oral antibiotics maybe suggested. Follow doctor's orders and instructions accordingly on purchased pharmacy products for positive results. Sadly women tend to suffer in silence due to embarrassment; this will not cure the problem. Problems are for solving, allowing any condition to advance can have treatment and dosage upped prolonging the curing process. Health issues need to be addressed and not dismissed in the manner of it going away because it may just not.

Vaginal odour treatments can be bought over the counter. Make sure your purchase is the appropriate solution. Home remedies are very popular for curing BV. One of the principal means of bacterial vaginosis home remedies is to help rebalance the normal vaginal flora. If results show positive then there is every chance of ridding the bacterial vaginosis infection forever.

Remember what works for one woman may not for the other.

1. Lactobacillusacidophilus and L. bifidus included in yogurt helps restore the acidic balance in the vagina. They can be taken by mouth or inserted into the vagina. It is important you seek guidance if possible. When applying/using home remedies ask your doctor for advice. Plain yogurt ingredient live acidophilus cultures can be taken orally. The acidophilus powder/capsules are often consumed by mouth. Skin around the vagina is very delicate and sensitive so be careful not to damage. Tampons soaked in yogurt are a proven method and can better the vaginal site.

2. Douching is not a common option recommended, however a boric acid douche is a good substitute to acidify the vaginal pH. This method works by deterring unwanted bacteria from amassing while at the same time wiping out what bacteria is present. Vinegar has many valuable purposes and one being the vinegar douche. Mix one tablespoon of vinegar per quart of warm water - this work wonders. Whatever vaginal odour treatment you choose have it checked out by someone in the medical profession

3. Vitamins to use for treating BVshould contain antioxidants i.e. A, C, D and E and B complex. Vitamins are vital in ones daily diet to keep healthy. Topical applications of vitamin E from prepared creams or powdered capsules help relieve itching. Not all vaginal infections cause itching. If you have an itch around the vagina it will not necessarily mean you have an infection, it could mean you are allergic or irritated by certain materials etc

4. Just like most medications there will be the no go order to follow. Stay clear of yeast foods which organisms flourish on, namely the dairy product cheese, beer, sweet chocolate, Chinese soy sauce, sugar and vinegar.

5. Taking a warm bath will help relax the body while soothing irritated genital tissues. Be weary of soap. This home method requires no soap as it can destroy the skin's natural oils that act as the body's natural lipid barriers.

6. A cold compress is good for reducing swelling and easing the urge to itch. This method encourages blood vessels to narrow and makes the region less likely to redden and swell.

Remember you are not alone and what you may have to say to your doctor will have all been heard before. So discard those blushes and say to your self when I leave this surgery I will come out smelling of roses.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-16958451332693596722009-05-26T12:01:00.000-07:002009-05-26T12:04:17.253-07:00Safe Simple "healthy Vagina" SolutionsHealthy Vagina - If the whole of my body is already healthy from doing exercise, eating proper foods and working out in the gym, then why is it so important that the vagina is singled out and kept healthy too? Is the vagina not part of the whole body? This is a good point and to help clarify the confusion, the vagina is an organ of the body that has its own need for personal maintenance. Because the vagina is out of sight for most of the time, it is however, forgotten about that is, until it gets itchy sweaty or smelly.

If the vagina is in a healthy state, it is then you can say the "whole" of the body is in tip top condition.

As an important part of the woman's body, the vagina needs as much care to hygiene. It is surprising how it is neglected of basic care. Not always intentionally. The ways to maintain the vagina are really quite simple and easy to initiate

" In general your overall health will contribute to keeping a healthy vagina. Consider more yoghurt and lessen sugar throughout the day. Yogurt contains good bacteria called acidophilus. While sugar, encourages a particular bacteria that the yogurt destroys.

" Cleanliness - Most reasons for vaginal infections occurring is through sweat and oils buildup. Wash regularly. Avoid douching as it is to thorough and not necessary. While a douche may take bad bacteria, it in contrast takes more of the good which is not healthy. Douching can also lead to increased inflammation (vaginitis). The inside of the vagina need not be bathed because it's constantly flushing itself. The only reason that you might have consider douching is if you're trying to get pregnant or want to alter the vagina's pH for a greater good.

" Condoms also help keep your vagina clean. Having unprotected sex often can lead to vagina problems as well as the obvious pregnancy and STDs.

" Cotton is breathable fabric and best to be worn round the genital area. Wearing cotton allows the air to circulate which frees the skin resulting in freshness.

" Leaving a tampon for more than six hours is not healthy. It can cause a toxic syndrome. Sanitary towels should also be changed regular according to circumstance. Pads can cause serious irritation. Inserting objects even tampons into the vagina can cause damage. Safe insertion of a tampon should be done when you have made yourself comfortable Find the most relaxed position for your body. Raise one leg on a footstool or toilet seat. Do not rush as the tampon can displace later. insert the tampon slowly and gently.

" We all love our bathroom smellies but too much of good thing may not be healthy. Avoid sprays and scented soaps. Soap is really not necessary and along with bubble baths can worsen vaginal dryness. Moisturizers and lubricants are both popular treatments used for vaginal dryness.

Keeping a healthy vagina is part of a regular hygiene regimen. If you notice specks of blood between monthly cycles - see your doctor. Vaginal bleeding is not proof enough to signify something serious is wrong; nonetheless it is in your best interest to ask your GP the reason why.

Is there a specific way the vagina should be washed? No, but there are guidelines you should follow like using products that can irritate the skin or have you suffer an allergic reaction.

Cleansing the vagina is pretty straight forward i.e. warm water and flannel is all that is needed. If the need for lather is your forte then use a special soap for vaginal cleaning. Vinegar is fabulous for refreshing the vagina. Mix vinegar with water for washing. Regular pap smears which screens you for infections or illnesses is not only sensible but great for keeping the vagina in check. Avoid stressful events because they can lead to vaginal infections

Is there such a thing as a perfect vagina? If we knew what a perfect looked like this would be easy to answer. Women differ in shape and build, so therefore vagina`s display small, wide, big, hairy or hairless so how do you tell. If the vagina is healthy - it sure beats perfection hands down.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-91912227441459247722009-03-19T05:06:00.001-07:002009-03-19T05:34:11.177-07:00vagina Monologues/BarbadosThe Frank Collymore Hall was pulsing, vibrating, raving, crying, retaliating, and gushing self-affirmation when the Vagina Monologues came to the stage last Sunday evening, in a celebration of V-day hosted by the National Organization of Women (NOW). The Vagina Monologues is not only a revolutionary, provoking and eye-opening evening of entertainment, it is a bold step towards increasing awareness about violence against women and girls, and securing financial resources for organizations working towards stopping such violence and helping its survivors. V-Day was born in 1998 out of the Monologues, as its creator and performer Eve Ensler heard in her travels hundreds of women’s stories of rape, incest, domestic battery and genital mutilation. She joined with a group of women to found V-day, a global movement to end violence against women. The V in V-Day represents Valentine, Violence, and of course, Vagina; and this word resounded proudly throughout the auditorium as Varia Williams, Kaye Foster, Amanda Cumberbatch and Cecily Spencer-Cross stepped soundlessly into the lives of different women from across the globe, to share the latter’s experiences, or lack thereof, with their vaginas.

At the opening of the show, the cast burst excitedly into the theatre, clapping in time and adding their own voices to a pre-recorded background chant of the title of the presentation. While the song itself lacked melody and unity with the subject, and suspiciously resembled a hastily-composed signature piece, it served to engage the audience and unabashedly introduce the theme of the show: vaginas. From their entry by the main hall doors and through the audience, the scene onstage into which the women of the cast moved helped, with its living room-type furnishings, to create an atmosphere of camaraderie among them, which was conveyed onto the monologues they interpreted, and so represented fellowship among women across the world. The creation of this sense of fellowship was supported by the encouraging words and looks exchanged among the women as they moved from one monologue to the other. It solidified a dual message: that women’s sexual expression and awareness is to be celebrated amongst ourselves, but also that violence against women is a crisis which we all share as women, and as a society. It undermines womanhood, not only the women who experience it directly, and it undermines civilization.

There was no elaborate scenic or sound design, lighting or costuming. The nakedness of all these elements was key in supporting the theme of the vagina: that which is only directly visible through nakedness, but whose existence moves along a social spectrum from being forgotten, to innately felt, to overtly degraded. A subtly brilliant touch to the costume was a scarf - worn by each cast member – which also served as a prop. It was alternately draped at the shoulder, tied about the head, or worn as a burka, as an uncomplicated mode of transition for the cast members into the different female subjects of the monologues. Manipulation of the scarf by the cast was completely unobtrusive, and contributed to providing some action on a set which would otherwise have been too static at times.

This ability of the cast to abandon self and remain inconspicuous when necessary was transferred to their performance reading of the monologues. They were each able to slip quietly into the roles required to interpret each piece: the intelligent, introspective and refreshingly witty British participant in a vagina workshop whose catharsis came when she was challenged to ‘be [her] clitoris’; the self-effacing older woman whose sad detachment from her own vagina was the lasting result of an embarrassing first sexual encounter left undiscussed and unexplained; the young, at first, innocent Southern American girl whose illegal seduction by an older woman was – sadly, some might say – her only opportunity to love her ‘coochi snorcher’, and therefore herself.

The actors were wonderfully convincing in their ‘roles’, and their voice, accent and movement greatly strengthened the believability of the monologues being related. Amanda Cumberbatch was bright, funny, sexy and intelligent in her readings. Kaye Foster at times stopped just short of overplaying certain parts, but was endearing, amusing and greatly credible in her performances. Cecily Spencer-Cross assumed the role of narrator for much of the presentation, and in her one longer piece seemed not to shine as much as her fellow cast members. Some elements of her voice and movement were mildly distracting, although the compelling story was able to stand on its own, and convey to the audience the desolation and desperation which are left in the wake of grossly violent acts against women. First Vice President of NOW Senator Jessica Odle and well-known lawyer/thespian Andrew Pilgrim also gave creditable performances as guest readers, with Pilgrim’s vivid account of the rape and genital mutilation of a woman by her boyfriend evoking gasps and tears from the audience. Attaching a man’s voice to this piece was a wise directorial choice, and enhanced the sobering and bewildering effect of the account.

The audience favourite for the evening, however, was Varia Williams’ interpretation of ‘The Woman Who Loved To Make Vaginas Happy’. Williams stepped into the exciting skin of a brash, intelligent, humorous and unapologetic Southern tax lawyer turned sex worker, whose greatest reward in sexually pleasuring women was experiencing their moans. Her monologue climaxed with a demonstration of these various moans, including the ‘Trini moan’ and the ‘Bajan moan’, whose verisimilitude was summarily refreshing and entertaining, and earned her a standing ovation. In coming to each monologue Williams gave the audience a palpable sense of abandonment of self, and created among us an air of expectancy. Hers was a sound and outstanding contribution to an overall brilliant performance by the cast.

The presentation was directed by Thom Cross, part of the team of Cross Caribbean Productions, whose conceptualization stayed true to the writer’s intentions. The script was well-interpreted, and a good use of space kept the stage comfortably balanced, particularly during the choral segments. Cross maintained unity in communication of the concepts being explored, while not compromising the theme of variety and diversity of experience which was a key part of the message. It was indeed a strong Caribbean interpretation and production of a not-so-brilliantly scripted North American creation.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-82513534053807158482009-03-12T17:44:00.001-07:002009-03-12T17:44:37.438-07:00tips to reduce Vaginal FlatulenceMadeline Albright was the United States Secretary of State under Bill Clinton. She was succeeded by Colin Powell. Chalmers Johnson wrote a national bestseller about Madeline Albright and Colin Powell called “Blowback: The Costs and Consequences of American Empireâ€. Blowback is like revenge. When you slaughter hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians for no reason it is only a matter of time before they show up in New York City with suitcase nuclear bombs.

Madeline Albright just released her own book called “The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God and World Affairsâ€. Bill Clinton wrote the introduction. Madeline Albright is a devout Catholic with Jewish roots who was born in the Czech Republic and attended the Emily Post School of Good Manners. Here is what Madame Secretary has to say about reducing the often embarrassing condition of vaginal flatulence:

“There has been a lot of hot air coming from the direction of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in recent years. Laura Bush confided in me that her bush is neither burning nor silent. Vaginal flatulence plagues hundreds of millions of women worldwide. Laura Bush confided in me, “I thought it was embarrassing enough being married to George. Now I have to deal with this. I have an appointment next week with Doctor Khristine Eroshovich. How could I discuss this with a male psychiatrist?â€

“So I gave her a few simple tips to reduce vaginal trumpeting. I told Laura that during intercourse she should play extremely loud jazz music preferably by Louis Armstrong. It’s bad enough when your husband begins retching violently but when the secret service agents at your bedroom door begin laughing uncontrollably it certainly compounds the shame.â€

“Vaginal flatulence is when air escapes from the vagina during sexual intercourse. It is odorless as it normally does not originate in the colon. The question is how does the air get into the vagina in the first place and how do you prevent it? The worst is regular flatulence simultaneously occurring with vaginal flatulence. If you suffer from this condition “Multi Flatulence†or “MF†it may be a good idea to abstain from pre marital sex.â€

“Drinking through straws draws air into the gut and this must be avoided at all costs. Take no options off the table. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, beans, tofu and brussel sprouts cause gas. If your daughter refuses to eat her brussel sprouts she may not be all that wrong. It is helpful to do regular Kegel Exercises, use water based lubricants and do not put your rear end up on a pillow. Try spreading your legs wider or keep them closer together. Avoid doggy style. Like most things in life if it feels great it’s bad for you.â€

“During sexual intercourse air is pumped into the vagina by the penis moving in and out. It is helpful if the man uses shorter thrusts. It is even more helpful if the man has a shorter penis. Size does matter but not in the way you thought.â€

“During Bill Clinton’s 1992 Presidential campaign Gennifer Flowers announced that she had had a 12 year affair with Bill Clinton. She backed it up with tape recordings of her and Bill having intimate phone conversations and the testimony of two Arkansas police officers who were former bodyguards of Governor Clinton. Hillary Clinton ran to every television station, magazine and newspaper to call Gennifer Flowers a liar, that Bill had never had sexual relations with Gennifer Flowers. Gennifer Flowers described the President’s penis as very small. This has been a blessing in disguise for Hillary Clinton. I realize that Hillary Clinton is the most naive woman in America but I support her run for President because I feel sorry for herAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-61694118069010868262009-03-12T17:41:00.000-07:002009-03-12T17:43:10.342-07:00Vaginal Discharge - How To Deal With itVaginal discharge is probably one of the most common signs of a yeast infection. Now, hold on just a minute. Before you stop reading or let your mind wander into the pits, let me tell you what this hated four letter word is. It’s the word DIET, and it’s a word that no one, particularly women, like hearing … especially at this time of year.

“Oh, sure,” you say. “Just when I’m about to shop, cook, bake, and put every scrumptious thing I can think of out for everyone else to eat, now you’re going to tell me I need to think about … well, you know … that word?”

Actually, I’m not going to tell you what you can’t eat, but rather what you CAN eat. After all, wouldn’t you, being a woman going through menopause, like to know what you can eat, not gain the extra weight, and still enjoy all the extra large meals without aggravating your hot flashes and bringing on the headaches? Now see! The word “diet” can actually be a good word. Let me show you what I mean.

Often times, a woman will go her whole life eating food from fast-food chains, boxed meals in the microwave, quick fatty snacks, and 101 other breaded, deep-fried, or grease-laden foods that aren’t what she needs to keep her energy levels up and her systems running smoothly. Rather than running like a well-oiled machine and humming along, she ends up being more like a gunk filled engine that is just about ready to come to a grinding halt. With just a few minor but constant changes, you can clear the gunk and start humming again, literally!

So, stop following all the fads and believing all the infomercials that promise a “new you in only one month for $19.99”. How about a “new you” beginning today and lasting for the rest of your life? And, I might add, a longer life at that, without the $19.99. “How,” you ask?

It’s just a matter of knowing what foods to eat, how to prepare them, and for what reasons, plus a couple of tweaks for added personal benefits and comfort. That doesn’t mean you have to put the microwave into storage, but think about it. When you’re in a hurry, NOT heating food is even faster than the microwave, and often times much better for you anyway. So let’s get started and see how many of these foods and tricks you can, or rather are willing, to adapt to your lifestyle.

First, eating fruits and vegetables is pretty basic, and not something you probably thought was really important. Of course, they increase your overall health, but what do they do for a menopausal woman? Actually, many fruits and vegetables have phytoestrogens and borons already in them.

What that means is this: Phytoestrogens are a weak form of the natural estrogen that you have in your body. It’s that hormone that decreases as we get older and puts us into menopause, if you will. The lack of it jumpstarts the menopausal symptoms we all experience to one degree or another.

Boron is a mineral that helps to keep the estrogen in your body. So by eating more of the fruits and vegetables that contain the highest forms of phytoestrogens and boron, we end up fooling our bodily systems into thinking there’s more estrogen in our body than what is really there. Consequently, many of the menopausal symptoms often subside, and at times, even stop altogether.

So what are these particularly glorious fruits and vegetables? The fruits are plums, prunes, strawberries, apples, pears, grapes, grapefruit, oranges, and raspberries. Now, there has got to be at least one out of that entire list that you like! They are wonderful! Not only do they fill that “sweet-tooth” craving for dessert after a meal, they’re naturally low in fat, are filled with vitamins and minerals, and very high in fiber to help keep the systems flowing, if you know what I mean. They’re terrific for avoiding the constipation that often accompanies menopause.

For vegetables, the list is even longer: sweet potatoes, lettuce, beets, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, onions, soybeans, and turnips. All of these can be eaten raw or cooked, but raw is better since the nutrients they contain aren’t damaged or destroyed by heating first.

You may have noticed I didn’t mention beans. Beans are incredibly good in alleviating menopausal symptoms. Each one is like a mini-package of nutrients because they’re filled with high amounts of vitamins and minerals, calcium, folic acid, B-6, phytoestrogens, and they’re a low-fat source of protein. They can also slow your appetite because they absorb glucose. In other words, you won’t be as hungry as often, which means you won’t feel the need to snack between meals.

As a quick tip, you can add beans just about anywhere in your diet. Include string beans or kidney beans in chili, salads, or stews. Buy canned bean soups or order side dishes of beans or bean soup when eating out. For snacks, use bean dips or make a quick three bean salad. The possibilities are endless … and delicious.

Something else you will need to include in your diet is fat. Yes, you heard me right; FAT. The problem is that too many women include the wrong kind of fat. It’s the saturated fat and trans-fatty acid that we need to avoid. That’s the fat that quickly moves to your thighs, hips, butt, and around the middle; just what we don’t want. You might just as well paste the chips right to your butt because that’s where it will end up anyway.

If you think about it, when was the last time you saw a robin hopping in your yard with a butt wider than she was? Throw a worm, seeds, or a piece of bread in the yard and see how long they last. Then lay a chip out there and see if it’s even touched before it turns green. If your neighbor’s domesticated dog stays home, that chip will be there until it gets mowed over. Even the wild animals know what to eat and what not to. They eat what they need to survive and accommodate their lifestyle. We should all be so wise.

We can also learn a lesson from farmers that raise livestock. Before going to market, livestock is often “fattened up”, so to speak. Ask a farmer what nutrients they do and don’t feed them and for what purposes. Personally, I don’t plan to go to market except to shop, so I certainly have no need, nor desire, to be fattened up. For that reason, knowing what the correct and incorrect fats are is crucial.

The wrong fats are those that come in packaged things like cookies, chips, and crackers. The right fats that we need are those that contain Omega 3 fat. These are found in fish, fish oil, olive oil, and canola oil. Oh, sure, they’re a little more expensive to buy initially, but the savings come in the form of all the medical bills you won’t be paying down the road. Then too, you’ll live healthier and enjoy the additional benefits along the way.

You can also change your fat intake by using these oils to cook with, by eating leaner meats, and by shopping for low-fat dairy products. If you want to stay away from butter, buy margarines in tubs that include liquid canola or olive oil that are listed as their first ingredients. Because most packaged foods still use Omega-6 hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils, stay away from those and cook more fresh foods.

One more point to be made here concerning fat is this. Not only is what we put in our body important, but when it goes into them is just as important. Most women, and men too for that matter, eat their largest meal as the last meal of the day. Instead of eating a large breakfast to charge them up with energy and nutrients to be used throughout the day, they generally eat more as the day goes on.

Naturally, lethargy and a foggy mind set in and the fat they’ve taken in has no way to become burned off. By eating the larger meal late in the day, most then sit in front of the television or computer until bedtime and everything settles into place instead of being used to maintain a higher activity level. It’s actually ironic that this is often called “vegging”. You can combat the “slows” by eating your large meal in the morning and then tapering off. It gives your body what it needs to be alert and active, and it uses the time to remove the excess that isn’t needed.

There are many small changes that you can make in your menopause diet that will allow you to go through the hormonal highs and lows with grace. They’ll help your weight, your attitude, and your other symptoms naturally, without all the additional medications that usually come with a list of side effects and warnings. If you’re not quite ready to initiate all of the changes at once, try adding a new one every few days. Mark the calendar and make a point of following through.

As time goes by, your menopause symptoms will disappear, but the better eating habits and new found youthful attitude will stay with you always. Just think of it! You could be the healthiest and youngest looking grandmother around! Why not?!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-354092725229843802.post-84914702441932734872009-03-08T14:12:00.000-07:002009-03-08T14:13:38.081-07:00Vaginal Discharge During PregnancyVaginal discharge during pregnancy is common and it is not your imagination. This discharge is referred to as leucorrhea, a mild smelling milky discharge. Vaginal discharge during pregnancy is due to the fact that you are now having increased estrogen production. You are having a greater blood flow to the vaginal area as well. The secretions from the cervix and vagina, old cells from the walls of the vagina, and normal bacterial flora from the vagina are causing the excess discharge.

The so called mucus plug creates a protective barrier. When you are getting closer to labor you will notice even more vaginal discharge during your pregnancy. This discharge will look a bit different than when you were in your earlier months of pregnancy. This is fine, it is just a part of being pregnant and the body taking care of itself. When your cervix begins to thin out and dilate it will expel this mucus. Then you will notice that the discharge looks like egg white and you will probably expel the plug in one gelatinous glob. This discharge might be tinged with a bit of blood. Do not let this bother you as this is only normal before the baby is born.

One word of caution when you are getting a lot of vaginal discharge during pregnancy it can be hard for you to tell if it is mucus or you’re leaking amniotic fluid. If you do have any doubts please contact your physician as this is a severe problem for the baby. If you are not yet in your 37th week and you notice an increase in discharge or a change in the type of discharge like if it becomes watery, or bloody then call the physician immediately. This can be a sign of preterm labor.

Preterm labor can be prevented if caught soon enough so you can carry your baby full term. Vaginal discharge during pregnancy, lower abdominal pain, with cramping farther along in your pregnancy is all signs of preterm labor.

This could just be a sign that your uterus is stretching or it could mean that you are indeed going into preterm labor. It is very wise for you to contact your physician immediately so he can help you prevent this process.

You may have an infection which is usually an odorless, whitish discharge that’s causing you discomfort such as itching or burning. A vaginal discharge during pregnancy untreated can result in a yeast infection. It is always good for you to check your discharge because it might be foul-smelling, frothy, yellow, green, or gray which means that you have a different kind of infection or a sexually transmitted infection, even if you don’t have symptoms of irritation, itching or burning. We like to advise that you should not try to treat yourself with over the counter medications. It is very important to first see your practitioner for a proper diagnosis to make sure you get appropriate treatment.

I know at this point you are wondering if there are any things that you might be able to do to help with the problem. Let me tell you now, yes there is, vaginal discharge during pregnancy is not uncommon but it is very irritating and some simple methods are available that will help. Firstly, very important - do not ever use a tampon during your pregnancy! Use panty liners to absorb the discharge and change often to prevent any infection. Next keep your genital area healthy by keeping it clean. Always wipe from front to back when you are cleaning your self. Next wear cotton underwear; avoid tight pants, nylons, bubble bath, scented pads or toilet paper. It is necessary that you also avoid feminine hygiene sprays and scented or deodorant soaps for the protection of the fetus. One other main concern that physicians and midwives have is that you do not douche. I know that vaginal discharge during your pregnancy is sometimes uncomfortable and you may feel unclean but you need to understand this is just part of being pregnant. The process of douching can upset the normal balance of vaginal flora and increase your risk of a vaginal infection. Douching has been noted in some rare cases to introduce air into your circulatory system through the vagina, which can cause serious complications. Keeping your self clean and wearing panty liners is the safest way to go when you are pregnant.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10100367553849575311noreply@blogger.com
