I always called them King Spiders but the official name is golden silk orb-weavers. That is because they make orb-shaped webs of yellow threads. At first I thought the light was yellow but it was the web. These spiders are not violent; my brother pet this one on the back and it did not react. As you might notice, this tiny beauty was patiently fixing a portion of her web instead of replacing the whole thing - I love practical women. Most other spiders don’t make partial repairs. I watched her work over two days – they are very efficient creatures. - Dominic

Paradise Island Bridge facts - I used to walk this bridge on average of twice a day, all 1560ft of it. It bothers me how the bridge doesn’t seem to be taken care of on a regular basis. There are cracks on the bottom, it shakes and wobbles if a dump-truck meanders over it… it’s quite scary if you’ve never experienced it. The Central Bank says it was built in 1967, making it 44 years old this year. The new, western, one is a mere 13 years old. - Ampero
