Today, Billy Duffy, guitarist of The Cult called WMMR to talk about their new record, the upcoming tour and a whole lot more. Their new CD, Choice Of Weapon, drops on May 22nd and they will be at The Electric Factory Rockin' Philly on June 10th with Icarus Line and Against Me as the opening acts. Billy spoke openly about the new record as well as bringing in Bob Rock to finish the record when they hit a wall. Has Billy Duffy ever written a Cult lyric? The answer is in the interview. Billy also shares what we can expect from The Cult live on this tour. The fans are in for a real treat. Billy also revealed the first four songs Billy and Ian ever wrote together. It was great chatting with him and seeing them live will be awesome. Get more info about The Cult here. And their Facebook link is here. The Cult will also be playing live on Jimmy Kimmel, May 18th at midnight. Thanks for listening,

Jaxon speaks with Corey Taylor who plays an Acoustic Set

Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stone Sour (among many projects) came by the studio today to chat with Jaxon and play a few live acoustic songs on the air. Listen as they chat about Corey's new book, family, guitars, solo work, small town livin' and there's even a "that's what she said" joke stuck in there somewhere. The highlight of the interview is Corey playing two acoustic songs: Stone Sour's new one "Hesitate", and an awesome cover of Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky". Enjoy!

In 1998, MMR put together a specialty CD telling The Boss's story in our great city! Give it a listen:

Original Liner Notes:

"As Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band stage their reunion tour (this was in 1998, of course), MMR thought it a good time to look back over our long history with them. WMMR Presents: "Bruce Springsteen/The Philadelphia Story" is our audio documentary retracing the city's, and this station's association with Bruce and the band.

What started in area colleges and a small cafe in Bryn Mawr, grew through the Tower Theater, the Spectrum, The Vet, JFK Stadium and now comes to the First Union Center (now the Wells Fargo Center) in September 1999.

What you have here is WMMR's recollection of Bruce and the band's Philadelphia story, as we remember the dates and places of a relationship now over 25 (current day 37 years.) We at WMMR hope these memories trigger some of your own, for ultimately, this CD, and Bruce's career are all of YOUR doing. Without the fans, and especially the Philadelphia fans, who know how things would have turned out?

So as we at WMMR take pride in our history with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, so too, should you, the loyal, passionate fans of Philadelphia take a great deal of pride in your key role in Bruce Springsteen's Philadelphia Story.

Host: Earle Bailey
Written: Kevin Gunn
