Had always wished for Google to make a Blogger app for the iPhone. But if they're teaming up with T-mobile for the launch of the MyTouch then fat-chance they'll grant the request that many Bloggers have, right?

Guess we'll have to settle for these instructions from Blogger for now... or NOT. Skipping over to Wordpress might prove to be a tempting task.

ART-sy rice fields of Japan

Just saw this today at the UK tabloid TheSun.co.uk.. it's all about Japan's art-sy rice fields.

Didn't know that there are different colored rice already out in the market, until just recently. And all the while I thought it may have just been colored or flavored AFTER being harvested. But the different colored rice fields in Japan made me think it started earlier than that.

Michael Jackson, dead at 50

It still seems surreal..

Singer Michael Jackson died this evening after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. The singer stopped breathing and collapsed at his home in Los Angeles. Paramedics failed to revive the 50 year-old and he was pronounced dead at hospital, according to medical sources in the city and family friends. (source: DailyMaik.co.uk)

Yesterday, my 62 year old mom heated some food on the microwave. She accidentally pushed the main button more than she intended and proceeded to take the plug out of the socket. I stopped her at the nick of time and pushed the reset button instead. She said, “Oh, so that’s how it is.” I laughed.
The microwave’s not new at all. Its glory years have long since passed. Nowadays, it’s getting rusty and getting very unpredictable…

I was pleasantly surprised recently upon finding out that the Archie Comic Digest can now be accessed using your iPhones or iPod Touch gadgets.

The first of the series "Archie: Freshman Year" is among the many soon to come. It's FREE for download at the iPhone app store.

The story for this Free issue is about the famous 5-member gang's pre-high school days at Riverdale High. All of them, Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Reggie are excitedly getting ready to enter High School except for Jughead who apparently is moving out of town. What happens next is revealed on the next series of the comics.

How I wish the rest of the comic series is free for download. That is not to be. The second among the series is also now available at the iPhone app store, HOWEVER, the publishers apparently have decided to sell it for a $ 0.99 tag price. I know it's still quite cheap, but if you have to pay almost-a-$1 for each episode.. then it can get quite expensive.

For those of you who are as cheapskate like me, download the FREE version now.

France's First Lady's Nude Picture Up for Bids

Imagine being married to the country's President and finding out, months/years later, that your nude photos is being feasted upon worldwide -- and is up for grabs at an ongoing auction. Ah, the shame.. but then, again, this is the French.. and she was a model before (a naked one).

I don't know why anybody would like to buy it though. Her body's hardly pretty. It's not artistic as they've said. The black and white contrast doesn't make the photo better either. It's not even rare -- especially since it's all over the web by now.

Bottomline is, in case nobody wants it, her husband should make sure he bids for those before it gets embarrassing -- for the both of them.

Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Simon Webbe, and Antony Costa (members of the old boyband BLUE) have recently revealed their confirmed plans of reuniting for some performances this 2009. It apparently happened on a radio broadcast last April and I've only just recently found out.

If you've forgotten what songs they've made hits, here are some: Breathe Easy (my personal fave), Guilty, All Rise, and of course One Love. There are plenty more.. but it'll take too long to list them all up.

Funny enough, during the peak of their career, I was actually more inclined to liking the other boyband Westlife (which is still alive and kicking until now). However, I realize I actually know more BLUE songs than Westlife -- plus the fact that I've also stopped following Westlife a long long time ago (when they've starting reviving quite a lot of old songs).

BLUE have three confirmed live performances coming up this 2009. First will be at the Capital FM Summertime Ball (June 7th); Second will be by supporting Pussycat Dolls (July 24th); and last (and hopefully not the 'last') is at the Midlands Music Festival on August 8th. All of which are UK-based.. which makes me quite *sad* because I'm obviously so far from there.

I hope, though, that they'll have some plans in creating new songs and having a world tour as well.

The fangirl in me just woke up, with this news.

IMEEM's iPhone App

My favorite music site, Imeem, has just recently released their own app for the iPhone/iPodTouch.

After receiving their email notification regarding the said app, I immediately downloaded it for my own exploration... and it did not disappoint.

You have to login your account first, though. Without an account, you won't be able to use the app. Also, without internet access, you won't be able to access it too.

For some amusing reason or another Filipinos (and perhaps others too) have made certain terms go to the TOP 10 Twitter Trends, not just once but five times within just one month -- the month of May 2009.

The first ever Filipino/Philippine related word to make it to the list of #pinoytrends is none other than "PACQUIAO". This happened on the day of pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao's fight with the British "Hitman" Ricky Hatton -- which, of course, as everybody else know by now, the PACMAN has won.

The second word to make it to the list is "PHILIPPINES". This was apparently due to American Idol 2008 runner up David Archuleta tweeting that he's preparing to come to the Philippines for the May 16 concert along with American Idol 2008 winner David Cook. The fangirls and fanboys were perhaps so excited to learn about his Twitter account that they ran amok with tweetering.

And just this day, three other terms made it to Twitter's history of #pinoytrends. The third on the list is "EAT BULAGA", which again is in reference to David Archuleta's appearance and guesting on a Philippine noontime show at the GMA network, which actually happened after his guesting to another GMA network early morning show, "SIS" (the 5th #pinoytrends).

So which came right in between Eat Bulaga and Sis to hit the number 4 spot? It's actually an awareness campaign about the 2009 Great Book Blockade. The #pinoytrends term is aptly coined "BOOKBLOCKADE". You might want to read this and this for more info about the injustice being served on Filipinos and their love for books. So, what made the #bookblockade reach Twitter Trend status? A concerned Filipino citizen (I'm sorry I forgot who it was) took a chance tweeted about it to international author Neil Gaiman (who had loads of Twitter followers) and who consequently retweeted the info to his mainstream followers.

Ah, the exciting trending power of Twitter. (Although it's just for a day or so)

Futile Search for Salt Alternatives

Many kidney patients would attest to this. It's so hard to find a good replacement for the good-old salt.

In my search to find a better substitute for salt (to help out in my father's diet) I found out three things:

1. The controversy between natural sea salt and refined salt still remains debatable. Sea salt has less sodium (86%) but more minerals while refined salt has more sodium (97%) and the rest is chemical additives.

2. There's still no successful Salt Substitutes available anywhere in the world. A lot of those substitutes has already been pulled out of the market because (apparently) they cause more harm than good.

3. Light Soy Sauce does not mean there's less sodium content. Often than not, it's even greater.

So what exactly can nutritionists and dietitians recommend for kidney patients, especially those who has less appetite for tasteless meals?
