Eighteen Appointed to Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

May 9, 2012 – The governor announced last week that eighteen people have been appointed to the new Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. According to the governor's office, the Council's goal is to assist in directing, collaborating and coordinating the services of state and local governmental agencies and non-governmental entities in the criminal justice system to increase efficiencies, effectiveness and public safety.

Legislature passes bill allowing hearsay to overcome probable cause standard (UPDATE)

March 28, 2012 – Both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature have passed a bill that will allow the use of hearsay evidence to determine whether there's probable cause to charge a suspected felon. The bill, Senate Bill 399, will now be sent to Gov. Scott Walker for final approval.
