The new season is upon us and the weather is starting to cool off. The rut is right around the corner.and hopefully you will be able to take one of those monster bucks roaming the woods. Post some of your hunts on the blog so We can hear how the Rut is going.

Delaware Deer Season 2009-2010

Now that the season is here, lets hear some good hunting stories about those big bucks you are seeing in the woods and fields. I have been seeing some really nice deer while traveling up and down the road and by the looks of things, it should be a good season for some really big monster bucks. I don’t know if it’s just me, but there seems to be alot of deer around this year and hopefully we will all have a good hunting season.

Striper Fishing

It’s that time of year when you just need to be on the water and hooking into some big fish. You cannot beat the way those fish fight and how they hit the hook, it’s like a run- away truck. I will be on the water when I get back from the Taxidermy Competition this weekend 5/17.

Well so far the striper fishing for me has been slow. Every time I hear of a hot spot, I’m on it and do not seem to come up with those big line-siders. If you have any good stories or pictures of your fish send them to me, I would like to look at them. If you have not been fishing yet, get up and go, you cannot catch them from the couch.

Whitetails Unlimited Dinner

I recently went to a Whitetails Unlimited dinner and was presented with a sponsor award for donating the services for a whitetail mount which will benefit terminally ill children. This will alllow these children to go on hunting or fishing trips. It is such a good feeling to be able to help out for such great cause.

2009 Taxidermy Tournament

It is almost the end of April and the taxidermy tournament is in a couple of weeks. As is with all the competitions that I compete in I am now running around putting on all of the finishing touches on the entry pieces. The competition is on May 17,2009 at Owens Station in Greenwood, DE. The event is being hosted by the Quality Deer Management Association. If you attend you can enter a 3D shoot or a Sporting Clay shoot and also enloy some good BBQ food and maybe meet some new friends. Hope to see Ya there.

If you were planning on going to the taxidermy tourament at Owens Station in Greenwood, DE on 5/17 it has been canceled for this weekend. I will post the new date on the site as soon as I have confirmation of a new date. The weekend weather is going to rain and be accompanied with high winds they say. Stay tuned for the next date with the DTA and QDMA Outing.
