Australia is known as the land down under, and is a great place to travel to. It is a perfect place where fun and adventure never end. But that’s not all that it has to offer. Australia has everything from deserts to rainforests, from rural areas to big urban cities, and even skiing on the Snowy Mountains! You can do almost anything you can think of in Australia, so what are you waiting for? Here are a few reminders to help you when on a trip in Australia.

Money

Australian currency, especially coins, comes in different denominations. There are 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, $1 and $2 coins. It is best to get your cash from an ATM, or from a currency exchange office. There are many ATMs in Australia, so it shouldn’t be hard for you to find one that you can use. Traveler’s checks aren’t really a good idea, since they charge five percent, and not a lot of people like to cash them either.

Driving and Transportation

If you’re planning to rent a car in Australia, one very important thing to remember is to drive on the LEFT side. Car rentals can be quite costly though, especially with the high gas prices. Buses are the cheapest way to get around Australia, and there are many routes and buses for you to ride. Some even are air conditioned, have videos, toilets, adjustable seats, and tours as well. It is very easy to understand the bus system, so you don’t have to worry about getting too lost. The major coach in Australia is Greyhound Australia.
If you really want to travel a lot, then the best way to save money is by buying a bus pass. They come in three different kinds, Day, Pre-set Itinerary, and Kilometer passes. Remember that once you buy them, they’re non-refundable. So make sure you choose the best for you.

Accommodations

There are many different kinds of accommodations you can find in Australia. They offer everything from cabins, to hotels, to high class resorts, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, and the like. If you’d prefer to stay on a budget though, an Australian youth hostel is the place to go. Rates are very low, so you don’t have to worry about not having enough money.

Food and Drinks

Something that you should remember when eating out is not to tip waiters and staff. It’s not allowed in Australia. Don’t worry though; minimum wage is pretty good over there. There are many different cuisines available in Australia, since there are so many different people in Australia. There are great restaurants for you to choose from, so you’ll never get tired of eating out.

Tours

There are many different tours you can avail of in Australia, and on your trip it is essential that you go on at least one. You can get a great tour no matter what part of Australia you’re in. In Western Australia you can check out everything in between Perth and Kununurra, in its natural beauty and splendor. You can also go to Kakadu National Park and Ayer’s Rock in Centern Australia. In Eastern Australia, you can have a tour of everything from Brisbane to Sydney to Melbourne, and even Tasmania.

Turkey is a great place for everyone to visit no matter what type of fun you look for in a vacation. The magnificent land of Turkey is found in West Asia, across the Anatolian peninsula. Here are some reasons why you should visit and explore the marvels of the country.

Historical Heritage

Turkey has a rich history and counts of beautiful scenery all mended through time. You can find many different battlegrounds from the past and old castles that were used during wars in those ages, and even palaces where great empires once stood. Alexander the Great once visited Turkey and cut the Gordion knot, where the Ottomans had their fights, and where the epic Iliad by Homer was set. In Turkey alone, you can find yourself at the center of history.

A good place to visit is the Haghia Sophia Museum, which is a good piece of architecture in itself. It was built in the sixth century AD and was the largest church during its time. After Constantinople was taken by the Ottomans, it became a mosque. It has been a museum since 1936 and is packed mosaics from the Byzantines.

Rest and Relaxation

If you want to relax and forget about all your worries, you can go to a local hamam, or a steam bath, and experience a relaxing full body bath and a massage from the experienced staff. You could also visit the Mediterranean waters and let the calming waters help you feel the calmness of the universe.

Fun and Adventure

There are many different places for you to visit in Turkey if you want to have fun. If you’re into adventures, then you can go to Nemrut Dagi National Park (Mt Nemrut National Park). You can find many statues and symbols of Turkey, along with lots of beautiful sights just waiting for you to see them.

You can also head on over to Istanbul, which is full of shops and bars for you to see and experience the nightlife of Turkey. It is full of wonderful and affordable restaurants for you to try too, so you can dine in style. Make sure to try out one of the most famous dishes in Turkey, kebabs. They taste great and are very popular with tourists and locals alike. Before getting on with the main course though, make sure to try out the many mezes that are available to you. Mezes are Turkish appetizers, and range from dolmas, which are vegetables or mussels filled with fish roe, chick peas, beans, or eggplant, to boreks, which are pastries with mean, spinach or cheese.

When travelling to Turkey, or to any foreign country, always remember to bring the right Visa with all the proper requirements. You can call the Turkish Consulate for help. It is also a good idea to try and learn some Turkish ahead, especially the most necessary phrases needed to get around. You should also exchange your cash at proper exchange offices since they are generally better than banks, and have better rates most of the time.

The friendly city of Dumaguete is located at the center of the third largest island of the Philippine archipelago, the Visayas. A 45 minute travel by plain from the country’s capital, the city is slowly becoming one of the country’s most visited islands. Known to the nation as a university town, Dumaguete is proud to host one of the world’s finest educational institution, Silliman University, whose name echoed all throughout the world for its outstanding performance in the field of academics.

Silliman University

Besides being a university town, Dumaguete City is home to several compelling tourist destinations. Clear and lovely beaches are abundant in the island and are the main reason why tourism of the city becomes a focal point for the local government. Let me take you to a ride of a lifetime as we visit reputable resorts and other fascinating destinations of the city that guarantees to offer a truly fun and relaxing holiday.

Education in the city is a primary concern. Colleges and universities, both private and public, founded in Dumaguete have seen a drastic increase in unison with the change of the country’s way of living and demand for higher education. Educational institutions such as Silliman University (SU), Foundation University (FU), St. Paul University of Dumaguete (SPUD), Asian College of Science and Technology (ACSAT) and Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) are just few of the institutions that provide solid education to the youth of the city.

Aside from the quality of education provided, some educational institutions were actually founded before the World War II erupted. Silliman University, the oldest American-based educational system founded in the Philippines, was founded in the year 1901 while NORSU has its roots tracked back by the year 1907. During the World War II, some schools became a strong contribution to the combating Filipino-American and Japanese troops.

Travelers wanting to spend some time under the sun will never find the city unfriendly. Warm beaches surround Dumaguete and its neighboring towns. From the north, whale watching and cruising the friendly seas in Bais are surely a fun activities that you don’t want to miss. The venue is just an hour ride on a van-for-hire from the city of Dumaguete.

For travelers wanting some extra adventure, a visit to the caves of Mabinay is the answer to their quest. Located 87Km from the city, the municipality of Mabinay is an upland town that houses few of the country’s most captivating and exciting caves. Odloman cave that measures 8,870 meters is just one of the town’s most famous caves. Some of the caves have underwater rivers running through their main channels that make the journey more exciting and fun.

Antulang Beach Resort

The southern side of the island is also endowed with a handful of captivating tourist attractions. Snorkeling, deep sea diving, sun bathing, yachting and other waters activities in this side is as exciting as its counterpart. The Antulang beach resort, located 40Km from the city, prides its private pool villas open to guests of the resort. Visitors of the resort are greeted with superb amenities and world-class accommodation.

The fun does not end their. Amontilado Beach Club, Bahura Beach Resort, El Dorado, and Pura Vida are just some of the most interesting beaches to visit in Dumaguete. So, when you travel to Dumaguete make sure to bring with you your cameras and take with you some lifetime souvenirs.

Indonesia was rocked by two hotel bombings last early morning of July 17th that horrified the nation. The devastating explosions in the country’s capital ruined two of the country’s most luxurious hotels, the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriot, which left nine people dead and wounded 50 others, according to investigators. The Indonesian government immediately declared the horrifying acts as “terrorist attacks.”

As a result of the blast, countries like Bulgaria and Australia issued travel warnings to the country to their citizens. Travelers from these countries were advised to cancel or change their itineraries. In addition to that, some Asian countries like Singapore also expressed their concerns about a possible drastic decline of tourist visits to the country due to security issues.

However, the US government did not issue any travel warning to its citizens. In a statement released by the president, “The American people stand by the Indonesian people in this difficult time and the US government stands ready to help the Indonesian government respond to and recover from these outrageous attacks”, he said. According to reports, eight Americans were injured in the blast.

The country had been in a series of terrorist attacks in the previous years. In 2002, Bali Indonesia was also severely scarred with a bombing that killed 202 people. The deadly bombing was blamed to be the works of the Jemaah Islamiyah that operate strongly in some Asian countries.

This event will again definitely leave Indonesia’s tourism industry to its knees. Despite a handful of favored tourist destinations such as Bali and other endowed regions of Indonesia, the country will continue to face concerns with its tourism unless the issue of terrorism is addressed. Leaders of different nations should also join hands in combating the threats of terrorism that continue to destroy the peace enjoyed by the community.

Traveling abroad, especially to Japan, is always thought of to be quite costly. But actually it can be affordable if you know what to do and where to go. As long as you know the right tips and tricks, then you’ll be able to enjoy all that Japan has to offer to you even on a budget.

Getting around

Planning to get to Japan by plane and travel to different areas throughout Japan? Well you should try going through Japan Airlines or All Nippon Airways, since you can make use of their great discounts when buying more than one ticket at a time.

Japan bullet train

If you’d prefer to travel around Japan using the trains, and enjoy the famous bullet train, then you should get a rail pass from JR Transportation Network. By getting a rail pass, you can save a lot on your travel and can even watch the beautiful sceneries of Japan while onboard the train. Trains are an easy way to get around, especially if you’re planning to travel long distances. You can also choose to go on a bus, which is also affordable.

Taxis are quite expensive, so it’s best if you use them only when necessary. Fortunately, the local transportation can take you almost anywhere, so taxis aren’t usually necessary.

Accommodations

Finding a place to stay in Japan isn’t hard at all. No matter what kind of place you’d like to stay in, you can find it in Japan. If you’d like to stay somewhere that isn’t too fancy and expensive, you can choose to stay in guesthouses, which are usually around four thousand yen per night. There are also economy class and mid-range hotels available from seven to eleven thousand yen a night.

Another good place to stay at is in a Ryokan. This is a traditional Japanese place to stay, with tatami mats and yukatas available. Ryokan’s give you a slice of how it feels to live with the true spirit of a Japanese. They are equipped with hospitable and hardworking staff that will help you with anything you need, especially when it comes to information about the surrounding area’s shops and restaurants. These rooms can cost from eight thousand yen for one person per night including meals, and offers discounts for two people.

Eating Out and Public Baths

Despite Japanese food being expensive in most countries, in Japan itself it isn’t. You can easily find good prices with filling servings available to you. If you don’t want to spend too much on food, don’t buy from places near tourist areas, as their prices are often higher than the norm. You can eat like normal Japanese people at Japanese pubs and restaurants.

One thing that you definitely need to experience on your trip to Japan, no matter what your reason for going there, is the public bath. There are two large bathing areas, one for men and another for women. You can enjoy a nice warm bath just like a real Japanese citizen. It usually costs around four hundred yen to get in, and you can go in at almost any time of the day.

Spending a vacation or traveling to USA is a dream come true for many foreign nationals as they set foot on the “Land of Dreams”. Aside from tons of promising destinations developed to greet tourists with a warm welcome, America is a free nation that offers equal rights to everyone. Isn’t that a compelling promise? To enjoy most of your vacation to the land of the free, a travel partner with expertise of the land is all you need.

Niagara Falls

The United States of America is rich not just in terms of monetary matters, but also with its bountiful tourist attractions. Natural and manmade destinations can offer travelers the same excitement and fun all year round. Take a chance to visit the grand and marvelous Niagara Falls and be sure to take along with you a camera for a lifetime souvenir.

Another famous destination that you should not miss when visiting the country is the historic Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. The remarkable manmade site is one of today’s living treasures that portray how American people protect and respect their freedom. Sculpted by Gutzon Borglum with the help of 400 workers, Mount Rushmore is indeed a pleasant vacation destination that will enrich your imagination of art and politics.

The bright and tempting fortunes of the casinos in Las Vegas and the lovely beaches on the coast of Florida are two more destinations you can witness in the US. Lure yourself with the bright neon lights that became the signature of Vegas and try your luck with a spin of the roulette. After a tiring party and fun at the casino, rejuvenate yourself and pamper your skin with their relaxing spas surrounding Las Vegas.

If you want to try an ultimate beach experience then Florida is the answer for your ocean-adventure craving. Satisfy your longing for a good beach vacation by hitting the crystal clear beaches of Florida. Live like the stars of the Beverly Hills movie every time you immerse your warm body to the cold waters of Florida. That should compose you a vacation like no other.

However, touring the different spots of US can be a challenging activity. You can imagine yourself like a helpless ant searching for crumbs on your entire kitchen floor if you are unaccompanied. But to make your vacation really worth while, make sure to find yourself a perfect buddy with enough knowledge of great spots in the US to cater your needs for a good adventure.
