...well... today I learned that Ani Semerjian, owner of Semerjian Interiors, featured my topiary tutorial as one of her Memorial Day Party Ideas on the NBC 10! Show in Philadelphia!

First and foremost, Paula Deen and I would just like to say,

(lol!)

Even though this is always a crazy-busy time for me and WCD, Christmas really is my MOST favorite time of year! And it wouldn't be the same if I didn't join in on a good holiday home tour or two! Yes, you can be sure for the next few days (in between wrapping gifts and shipping out orders) I'll be listening to some Christmas music, while checking out everybody's fancy Christmas decor!

So, before I get back to the gift wrap, here's a quick look at some favorite decorations of mine:

Given to me by Beach Bum and Baby at our Cookie & Ornament Swap Party last weekend! All the girls wrote their 2011 wishes, which I'll hang onto, so we can read them again at next year's party!

Of course, a favorite ornament of mine!

And all can be found hanging on my little Christmas tree!

Ribbon Tree How-To

I am sure most of you are already familiar with my “Ribbon Topiary How To” post. Well, I am happy to say I have another fun ribbon project to share with you – Ribbon Trees!

You will need:

Straight pins
Styrofoam cone – I used a 9” x 4” cone
Ribbon – I used 1” ribbon

For the ribbon layers:

Pin the top corner of your ribbon to the cone.
Insert a second pin 1/2 inch to the right of the first.

Make a 1/2 fold and pin ribbon back, over second pin.

Insert fourth pin 1/2 inch to the right of the fold.

Make a 1/2 fold, pin ribbon back, over fourth pin.
Continue this process all the way around the cone.

For the top of the cone:

Pin ribbon to cover the top of the cone

Insert first pin in the center of the ribbon, allowing half of ribbon to extend past the end of the cone.

Make 1/2 folds just as before, but place second pin on the underside of the fold.

Bring ribbon back over and continue the process.

Here's another Ribbon Tree I made using two different sizes of ribbon. If you decide to give these Ribbon Trees a try, I'd love for you to let me know how they turn out!
