We apologize that the blood drive tshirts weren't here at the start of the blood drive. They are in Mrs. Vicki Davis' room for pick up or you can email or call Mrs. Vicki at the school to reserve your shirt. Please let us know by 9 am on Tuesday so that we can get your shirt to you or the remaining shirts will be given to NHS members. Thank you for supporting the drive - over 100 people donated! Due to Baccalaureate at First Baptist Church, we are moving the Middle School Academic Assembly and the High School Academic Banquet from Monday, May 13 to Tuesday, May 14. The Middle School Academic Assembly will be at 10:30am and the High School Academic Banquet will be at 7pm. Parents will receive a Phonetree message if you and your students need to attend.

The Westwood National Honor Society is sponsoring the 2013 blood drive on Wednesday, May 15 2013 from 7:30 am until 3:15 pm. You can sign up to give online now at https://www.oneblooddonor.org/index.cfm?group=op&step=2&opid=491224.

Each National Honor Society member recruits 2 people, so make sure to support your favorite NHS member and put this on your calendar. The Tshirts this year will have a Wildcat theme and are designed by Madison Tucker. GO CATS!

The annual Westwood Auction is sponsored each year by the Westwood Grandparent's Club with all of Westwood participating, The proceeds of the auction all go to Westwood. Come join the fun - there's something for everyone including the kids. Who Knows, you mist just win an "unbelievable deal."

We're so excited that our girls varsity basketball team has made it to the final 4 at Mercer University in Macon tomorrow, Thursday, February 27 at 4pm when they face off against Gatewood.

Attached are the state tournament brackets, information about driving directions and future games.

Students who are not basketball players or cheerleaders must have a signed permission slip from parents in order to be excused to go to the game.

Fifth grade is collecting new and gently used books for the Georgia Children's home (ages 2-18)
The Y-club is collecting socks for the nursing homes in the area - any color, any adult size, but NEW.
Watch for the list of White Christmas items coming soon.
The middle school is Magi shopping Friday for needy families.

Also remember the other collections we do throughout the year:

Cantabs for the fifth grade Ronald McDonald house - put a cup in your work's break room or by your sink and break the can tabs off your Coca-Colas and other sodas as you drink them.
Boxtops and Campbell's Soup labels
Inkjet and laser cartridges for the technology program (if you have a lot of ink or laser cartridges, contact Vicki Davis at 229-336-7992 or vdavis@westwoodschools.org for labels and you can ship them to the recycling company directly from your office.)

Go Cats! We are playing at Valwood on Friday night at 7:30 pm for the AA state playoffs in Valdosta, GA. We're asking all of our fans to travel and wear their orange to fill the stands. We need fans in the stands to come ready to cheer and make some NOISE!

The Pep Rally is tomorrow at 1:30 pm. GO CATS!!

Go through Moultrie and Berlin. About 6 miles past Berlin there will be a caution light. Turn left at the caution light and go through Barney to I-75. Go over the bridge and turn right at the first road. Go to the dead end and turn right. The School is approximately 1 mile on the left.

STATE SEMIFINAL GAME!! Wear your orange

We are excited to be playing the Brentwood Eagles in the state semi final Friday night at 7:30 at Centennial Stadium. The state game home field advantage will go to the other bracket, so this is definitely the last game of 2012 at home in Centennial.

We need you to be spirited and ALL OUT ORANGE. Paint your faces, paint tshirts, bring your cowbells and pom poms. (You can even paint some signs and hang on the fence if you have time.)

This is a very big game and we're so excited to be in it. GO CATS! We're behind you all the way!

Look for our cheerleaders on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Westwood junior and senior varsity cheerleaders will be in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday. They will be in the second group in the lineup and the parade starts at 9am. They will be part of the Spirit of America dance team. Please tune in to see our girls.

Thank you to everyone who baked and bought items at the Freezer sale, bought T-shirts, and sponsored the trip. The squad is very grateful for your support.

Fall Sports Assembly Date Change

Region Champion One Act Play

Congratulations to our region winning one act play and the entire cast and crew of Hansel and Gretel! Performance awards were given to Erin Burnett as the Gingerbread Witch, James Davis as Frick, Tristan Swan as Frack, Riley Ford as Gretel and Kendall Butler as Lydia.

They will compete in the state championship at Darton College next Tuesday, November 6 and will perform at the Flint River Auditorium on Thursday, November 1 at 7pm and Sunday, November 4 at 3 pm. Donations will be accepted but there is no charge.

The YClub is collecting shoe boxes again this year. Turn your box in to Mrs. Gail Williams by Thursday, November 15. An ice cream party will be given to the class turning in the most boxes.

Little Miss and Tiny Miss Practices Start This Week - November 1st.
