Instead of heading to the mall and purchasing an expensive mirror, you can use material from around your home or purchase affordable items to design your own mirror.

How do I create my own mirror?

Designing your own mirror is the beginning of creating a completely new bathroom. You can use material from around the home such as photo frames. Try to choose an embossed type. Embossed frames make great wall mirrors. You could also create tabletop mirrors using it as a vanity mirror. make-up mirrors make nice displays, especially when you surround them with your favorite items such as bottles of perfumes etc.

How do I add a back?

You can use hardboard to add a backing. When picking the board however, make sure that you match the board to the weight of the mirror. Rather, make sure that the backboard will hold the weight of the frame and mirror. Mirrors typically weigh about 750g depending on the size. In this example, you are making the quarter frame, so you will need to allow 0.32m2 per m2. So, if your mirror weighs more than 3 pounds, you will need a board to hold 1.6kg per square foot. The thickness of the board then should be around one eighth inches. The mirror will fit into the rebate. You can have the glass cut at any glass shop or mirror shop.

Once you have your materials together, you will want to fit the mirror onto the backing. The backing should slide into the groove cut or wood joints. (rebate) Once you have inserted the parts, you will need to hit your brads gently to avoid breaking your mirror when nailing it into the picture frame. If you propose to hang the mirror on your wall, you will require hangers, which you need to permit to pivot.

How do I select mounting materials?

You will need a mirror, frame, short screws, corner braces, craft paper (brown paper), double-back sticky tape, dust cover, hangers, a couple of mirror hangers, awl, jigsaw, knife and extra screws to mount your frame.

Now that you have a basic idea, you can start creating your mirror. In short, it takes ten steps to create your framed mirror. To finish your mirror, we suggest that you go to your local library and check out books to help you. However, I will briefly walk you through the ten steps.

The first step is to turn your frame on its back and secure the corner braces, fastening them transversely to connect the mitred corners. With your awl, create pilot holes in the back of your frame. Once you have created the holes, insert the screws. If you have bought hardboard or are using cardboard, cut the board so that it matches the size or your mirror. Face down, place the mirror inside your wood joints. Now you can place your hardboard/cardboard inside the wood joints and over your mirror. Brads should be inserted at this point, which should be at 2.5cm intervals from the corners.

Next, use your tape to cover the frame, layering the tape to about 3mm from the outer edges of your frame. Throw away with the paper cover. Now you are off to a grand start to completing your mirror. Take the brown paper and cut a 5cm strip extending a sizeable distance further than the edge of your mirror. Once you have your paper over the backboard, you want to secure it. Use your sticky tape. The last steps is to trim, mark, and measure to add your hangers.

Owen Jones, the author of this article writes on several subjects, but is currently involved with mosquito bite swelling problems. These thick durable cutting surfaces are superb because they are reasonably priced, long lasting and easy to find. It is simply how you want to incorporate them into your home that can be a problem.

Butcher block is a thick, hard cutting surface that can handle being hit repeatedly by a sharp knife or cleaver. It is usually made of pieces of wood such as sugar maple and is often over four inches deep. Butcher block got its name because these durable cutting surfaces were frequently used in butcher shops to cut meat on.

If you are trying to decide how you want to incorporate butcher block into your home, you have several different options and it is up to you which you select. You should think about how much cutting space you want to have and this can be a guide to your plans. There are a number of different options, including entire counter tops, kitchen islands with a butcher block top, or a piece that is used as a stand-alone block.

End grain butcher block is extremely durable and allows the force of knife blows to be absorbed between the wood fibers. This is excellent because by absorbing the force, the block will keep your knives shaper. End grain butcher block is considered by many chefs to be more desirable than edge grain because it keeps the board from being nicked and scratched. Sharper knives and a longer lasting cutting surface are things that matter very much if you work with food for a living.

Edge grain butcher's block is the kind that many people are used to. This is the style that many see when they picture butchers block. It is made of long slats of wood that often run the length of the block and the look is very similar to that of wood flooring.

When shopping there are more things to look at than just end grain or edge grain. You need to make sure that the pieces of wood making up the block have been securely fastened together and that the wood is in good shape. The last thing that you want is for the adhesive keeping the pieces of wood together to let go so that all you have is a bundle of wooden sticks. You also need to speak with an expert who can give you good information on how to treat and condition the wood and keep it looking beautiful.

Since you need to treat the block with oil to keep the wood supple and sand the block down when it becomes scratched and marred, you may want to make sure that you are incorporating butcher's block on a limited basis. It can be inconvenient if you are unable to use your counter tops because they are being resurfaced and oiled on a regular basis.

If you have decided to incorporate butcher's block into your home, you should think whether you want to use a separate cutting board. If you are resurfacing your cabinets, consider using butcher's block for all or a part of your counter top. This way you have the richness and beauty of wood with the versatility of having a counter long cutting surface to prep food on. Whatever your choice, you should know that you can enjoy the beauty and durability of a butcher's block for years to come.

About the Author:

Some things to consider before buying butcher block furniture or cutting boards, is whether it is end grain or not. Generally, end grain butchers block is better for using with heavy knives, although it is more expensive it is far longer lasting.

And you probably understand that it's the caffeine content that causes this effect. What you probably don't know, though, is why it is that caffeine can keep you awake. So what is it specifically about caffeine that stops you going to sleep?

What happens is that caffeine serves to inhibit the effectiveness of the chemical that reacts in the brain to make us sleepy. This sounds a bit worrying, but is simply a natural chemical reaction, whereby adenosine - which occurs naturally in the body - can't perform its proper function.

Adenosine is a chemical that the body produces naturally as a result of daily activity. The human brain has adenosine receptors in it, that the adenosine produced binds itself to. This action slows down nerve cell activity within the brain, causing us to feel drowsy and eventually fall asleep.

This can appear odd, that a chemical produced by exercise and activity leads to us feeling tired, but makes sense over the course of a day. Also, a side effect of adenosine is to dilate blood vessels, allowing more oxygen into the brain while we are asleep. This increase in oxygen is something we obviously do expect from exercise.

Caffeine has a similar constituency to adenosine - at least it does from the point of view of your nerve cells. So caffeine will bind itself to your adenosine receptors in the same way that adenosine does. Caffeine, though, doesn't have the effect of slowing down the nerve cells. In fact, as the receptors can't detect any adenosine, the nerve cell activity now actually speeds up.

At the same time, caffeine leads to blood vessels contracting, rather than dilating, which restricts the flow of blood cells. This is why certain types of headache respond well to remedies that include caffeine, as more of the blood cells causing the pain are prevented from reaching the brain.

So with the adenosine being blocked by the caffeine, there is increased neuron activity in the brain. This triggers a "fight or flight" reaction, as the body thinks there must be some sort of emergency situation causing this increased neural activity, and releases hormones to create adrenalin.

Everyone realises that the last thing you need when you want to get to sleep is a boost of adrenaline. Which is essentially why coffee keeps you awake - with the adrenaline leading to tense muscles, a faster heartbeat, and even a feeling of excitement that is certainly not conducive to dropping asleep.

About the Author:

Russell Jackson is a coffee machines expert, having supplied many thousands over the past few years, and has a specialist knowledge of coffee and coffee vending machines.

Regardless of personal preferences or even budgetary constraints, you are guaranteed to find the perfect one for you.

When bread machines first came on the market in the 1980s, they became an immediate hit. Even with their $300+ price tags, people scooped them up off store shelves and headed home to bake up a storm. In the beginning, the mainstream houseware retailers hadn't caught on to the craze; bread machines were made by companies who produced that one particular product only.

It took about ten years for the big name kitchen retailers to produce their own bread machines, but when they finally brought these newer models to market, prices had dropped to under $100 and they were lighter, tinier, and quieter. Even with these price reductions, options and styles increased.

Bread machines originally produced only round loaves of bread simply because the ingredients needed to be mixed and it was impossible to put a square mixing pan in and expect decent results. Although a bit awkward for sandwiches and the like, the bread nevertheless rivaled what grandma used to turn out by hand.

Today bread machines are able to produce square and rectangular loaves although the original design is still more practical and the end result is more consistent. The square loaves tend to have uncooked or burned edges, or even sections that were not mixed correctly at the beginning of the cycle.

Bored with making just bread all the time? Newer models have custom settings for Danish, pizza dough, specialty doughs like Italian bread, and a whole range of other tasty options. The machine will still mix the dough, let is rise, and then let you know when it's ready for your next steps.

Many traditional bakers have forsaken the old fashioned time consuming mixing and kneading and rising and let their bread machines do all the work. It's amazing how totally automated these are, completely taking away all the guesswork when it comes to how long to knead, mix, bake, etc. All you need to do is add the ingredients, push the start button, and wait a few hours.

Make certain you know how easy it will be to clean, however. The less expensive models tend to make cleaning fairly difficult. Since the ingredients tend to get all over the place during the mixing, you want to be able to easily reach in and wipe it off. Try to find a machine that at least protects the heating coils.

Look for a machine that allows you to completely remove the top and put it in the dish washer. Also look for a machine that has built in splatter guards so that when accidents happen - and they will - you only need to clean the guards.

About the Author:

John McKain would like to tell you which is the best bread machine to bake the finest bread for your family. Besides the fact that I love it and enjoy it, I have found over the years that there are many more reasons that I stopped buying and started making ice cream. Here they are. I hope I can help turn you into an ice cream maker.

1. My family and I love ice cream. We eat a lot of it all year round not just in summer. On a regular basis I found buying ice cream adds up, and on a monthly grocery bill, well lets just say I got a real shock. When I make my own, I make it a lot cheaper (but just as tasty, even tastier) than store bought. So I save on my food bill.

2. It was when I had my family that I first started to think about the planet and being green, for them and their kids. So whilst I am no paragon of virtue on that front, I try little things. With my home made ice cream, I am not paying for ice cream to have needlessly travelled around the country to my table, and I am not paying for those fancy useless packaging tubs and cartons. So I guess it does help me feel a little better.

3. I get to know exactly what is going into my kids mouths. There are no additives or preservative in my home made dessert. Only natural goodness no artificial rubbish.

4. I know so many people, my kids friends especially with allergies of all sorts. I can leave them out of the ice cream, so everyone get to enjoy it.

5. I bring my ice cream over to friends, or families houses for dinner. It beats spending a fortune on flowers. I bring along the dessert which we can all enjoy together.

6. It's a fantastic way of getting the kids involved in what they are eating, (not to mention entertaining them for an afternoon). When they have their friends around and are starting to get bored, I get them out some ingredients and get them making. They love it.

7. I can get the kids to eat more fruit too, by serving it on top or beside the ice cream. Add some good nuts, and maybe some oats sometimes and they don't even know they are eating something really good for them. Result!

8. I always make my ice cream with lower fat cream or half and half. Honestly they don't notice the difference. It's so much less calorific than store bought.

There it is. My ice cream tastes great. Looks wonderful and costs less. I hope you start making yours too. It really is so much more rewarding than buying it.

About the Author:

If you are thinking of purchasing an ice cream machine, take some time to review them before making a purchase. The only things you need should already be in your kitchen like knives, pots, pans, serving platters, and some common kitchen ingredients.

Gourmet cooking is becoming one of America?s favorite pastimes. As the country continues to head deeper and deeper into a recession, American?s are finding that eating out is becoming a luxury that they can no longer afford. So instead of going to a restaurant to have a special meal, they?re recreating it at home, in their own kitchens. It?s easy to learn the secret of gourmet cooking. All you have to do is switch to one of the dozens of cooking shows available on cable or broadcast TV and watch some of the world?s most renowned chefs sharing their secrets. You can also go to the library and check out cookbooks with illustrated, step-by-step recipes for creating delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented gourmet meals.

To create a gourmet meal, you need to start with the very best and freshest ingredients. This is where you want to use pure butter instead of margarine, cream instead of milk, fresh-squeezed lemon juice instead of bottled lemon, and fresh mushrooms instead of canned. An inexpensive bottle of white wine is also an important component of gourmet cooking.

Skinless chicken breasts or salmon can be good protein additions. Food staples like Rice, pasta and shredded cheese should be stored and available in all kitchens along with frozen vegetables like broccoli, green beans or spinach which might be helpful greatly in cooking thus known as the gourmet cook?s best friend. When you think of adding flavor and depth to the taste the best things that come to mind are Fresh herbs, onions, garlic and shallots.

It shouldn't take much work, and with a little practice you will soon be able to start making meals that will be wonderful experiences for your friends and loved ones. Gourmet meals don?t have to be overly complicated either, something all it takes is simple, fresh ingredients to create a memorable meal that rivals some of your favorite restaurants.

It is very important to be sure about maintaining the similarity of the size and shape of the chopped, sliced ingredients. This will serve in presenting a good and appetizing meal. The same size of the ingredients will help in even cooking and add elegance to the plate. This sort of presentation will show as if the dish is prepared with love and care. A good saute pan is an essential tool in this cooking. Before adding the butter to sear and saute? the pan should be preheated to help the preparation.

Presentation of the dish is as much important in gourmet cooking as preparing. A good presentation will make the food more delicious and appetizing. An attractive presentation will be appetizing since it will look great for the eyesight. Plain white platters are usually recommended. These kinds of platters will enable the food to be on the limelight. Garnishing is also important. This is usually done with parsley, cheese, or mushrooms. This will surely create an impression on your family and friends.

About the Author:

Gourmet cooking is always fun and exciting. Caffeine can leave you with a feeling of agitation or feeling nervous because of its harmful effects on your nervous system. Not to mention the digestive distress that every cup of coffee seems to create because of the acidity in coffee.

Coffee does have a good side and that would be that it contains antioxidants.

What's so Great about Antioxidants?

Antioxidants come in many forms and help to prevent damage to your cells. Antioxidants such as vitamins, flavonoids and enzymes help to prevent cell oxidation and protect your cells.

Free radicals harm our bodies and antioxidants have the ability to stop these damaging substances.

When we expose ourselves to toxic chemicals, radiation, pesticides, and drugs such as alcohol and caffeine, free radicals will be created in our bodies.

The donation of an electron by an antioxidant prevents the free radicals from damaging your cells by converting it into a harmless molecule. This donation stops oxidative damage that is responsible for aging your body.

Antioxidant Drinks and the King of Herbs

A new coffee called "Healthy Coffee" has emerged on the scene and this coffee comes with one of the most powerful herbs in the world - The Reishi Mushroom.

Traditional Chinese Medicine employed the use of the Reishi Mushroom to help keep its royalty healthy. We eat foods to save ourselves from being hungry and acquire nutrition to maintain our body. What else can we expect from foods?

The Japanese are the first people who introduced the conception of "functional foods" in mid-80s. They use this term to refer to those foods which people eat for the health benefits they can provide. For instance, if you eat blueberries because its glucoquinine ingredients can improve your eye sight, they are considered "functional foods". Otherwise, if you only have blueberries because you are hungry or because you enjoy its taste, then it is just an ordinary food.

At this point, the word nutraceutical comes in, too. A nutraceutical is an ingredient taken from ordinary food and sold as a healthy product. The line between nutraceutical and dietary supplements can become a little blurry, though. For example, you might apply either term to blueberry or bilberry pills sold as vision support supplements.

Popular functional foods

The most popular functional foods have to be vegetables and fruits, and we are always encouraged to have enough of them to acquire sufficient vitamins and minerals. Whole grain is another example of popular functional foods, as it is a very good source for soluble fiber. Fish are rich in omega-3, which offers multiple health benefits; and wine is also considered functional for the obvious benefits it can do to our circulatory systems. Berries, unfortunately, are often overlooked as a functional food. This is because it just tastes too good that people tend to forget about the health benefits it can provide us.

Selecting the appropriate dietary supplements

Obviously, selecting dietary supplement is not the same as selecting your food, and the decision has nothing to do with its taste. Now, there are just too many supplement products in the market, and most come with very bold claims. While you need to correctly understand of particular health needs, don't forget the warnings from many physicians against possible overdosing, mixing of non-compatible supplement, or taking them along with other medications.

Basically, you do not have to get dietary supplements if you can stick to a perfectly balanced diet, which, unfortunately, very few of us are able to achieve. Health supplement becomes important when you are not eating the healthy way, or you have a special condition (eg. pregnancy or breast feeding, etc) that requires more nutrition, or you do not have a healthy digestion system. For vegetarians, you should definitely not skip looking for dietary supplements.

Keep in mind, though, that some dietary supplements can be almost as powerful as prescription medication. (After all, if they did nothing to your body, why would you even take them?) Before starting a new supplement, read up on its possible side effects and interactions and talk to your doctor about it, too. With all the junk food available today, it takes a little planning and forethought to eat well.

Combining functional foods with dietary supplements will grant you a huge advantage in meeting your body's nutritional needs. However, don't simply buy just anything from the supermarket without a bit planning and researching.

About the Author:

If you follow a diet plan that fills your day with eating the healthy foods (not all salads and fruit of course!) then you will never feel hungry enough to snack in the first place. Skin care experts have vehemently denied that any link exists between diet and acne. However, evidence is accumulating that suggests an indirect relationship exists between food preferences and the development of acne.

Those that suffer from acne have reported breakouts after eating certain foods. One person gets breakouts after eating peanuts, another after consuming milk. Is it really plausible to think that people fabricate such accounts? Not really. If we are to learn anything from history, its that most diseases are a lot more multifaceted than we like to think. There are always several variables involved. While there is no direct link between food preferences and acne, in some a drastic reduction in lesions may surface with diet modification. Since we all respond differently to treatments, some may see drastic improvement while others not so much.

Processed foods, the main component of the American diet, are largely unhealthy. These foods contain mostly simple carbohydrates, which are directly converted into sugar by our body. This sugar trickles into the bloodstream, which ultimately spurs overproduction of a hormone known as testosterone. It is this hormone that controls sebum production. When oil is excreted in excessive quantities, new acne lesions can develop. Switching from processed foods to healthier ones can be a challenge. You stand to improve your overall health, not just in terms of clearing your skin. For instance, you lower your risk factor for diabetes when you reduce your intake of processed foods. Formulate a new diet plan and after a few weeks, you will feel like a healthier person. Lifestyle changes are necessary to get a clear complexion.

Many have attributed their acne breakouts to the consumption of dairy products. Milk, among a number of other dairy products, contains a countless number of hormones. When these hormones enter our body, they trigger a number of adverse reactions. The negative effects of these hormones have been confirmed by multiple studies, including one that was conducted in 2005. In observing the effects of excess milk consumption (2-3 cups per day) on women, researchers found that participants faced a substantial risk of acne breakouts. This does not go to say that milk should be eradicated from our diet, as it does provide us with nutrients which we do need. However, as with anything, excess is not something to strive for. If you've already had 2 cups of milk today and bracing for your 3rd, it may be time to tone down your intake.

There are some who will continue to refuse that any relationship exists between acne and diet. It is hard to tell. For example, once lemons are digested they are basic or alkaline even though they are acidic to start with. Eating a significant amount of alkalizing foods is important to balance a raw food diet.

Spinach, kale, collards, mustard greens and broccoli, the first green leafy vegetables, are great alkalizing agents. Wild edible grasses are also alkalizing.

Alkalizing foods such as parsley, cilantro, basil, garlic and grasses such as wheat and barley grass, sprouts and sea vegetables like kelp, nori, dulse, spirulina and blue green algae are good foods to consume. Shitake, maitake, and reishi, medicinal mushrooms, help make the body more basic.

Life is all about balance. This universal truth is especially profound when speaking of body pH levels. Body pH is the human bodys need to stay at a certain pH level. Levels of pH are measured on a scale from zero to 14, in which zero is very acidic, 7 is neutral, and 14 is very alkaline.

In the human body, the pH of blood must remain at a slightly alkaline level of 7.35-7.45. To keep you healthy and maintain the blood pH some of the body's other fluids are maintained at different pH levels. Your cells and organs are constantly working and filtering what you eat to sustain these pH levels throughout the body.

When the blood system is more acidic, bacteria, viruses, yeast and other harmful organisms thrive. It is important for your total well being that the pH is balanced. A pH balance leaning on the alkaline end of the scale creates an uninviting environment for things that make you sick. This is why it is important to consume more alkaline foods than acid foods to be beneficial to your overall fitness.

Consumers learn about nutrition and realize that a specific ratio of alkaline foods to acid foods determines pH balance and good health. On the pH scale human blood registers about 7.4. This means it is naturally alkaline. The body needs the proper balance of alkaline foods to acid foods is needed to maintain this level.

About the Author:

For more information in regards to Alkaline Foods please contact us at www.mbswellnesssystem.com

Some oils, "single-estate oils," use oil from a single variety of olive. Many olive oils mix several varieties of olives and the result will vary depending on the proportion used.

The best olive oils are made from hand picked olives just before they turn ripe to get the perfect balance between the oil and acidity. Olive oil differs from other oils because it is extracted from a fruit, not a grain or seed.

Essentially, it is 'fresh squeezed' from the fruit of the olive tree, without alteration of the color, taste, and nutrients or vitamins. Depending on distinctions such as growing region and the crop`s condition, the flavor, color and fragrance of olive oils can vary dramatically.

Chlorophyll or other coloring agents are often added to achieve a robust green color that, though mistakenly believed by many to be the hallmark of real extra virgin, is almost never seen in the authentic item. Almost without exception, unadulterated extra virgin oil is primarily golden in color.

Harvesting the fruits in the proper manner is critical to maintaining purity. The time that passes between harvesting the olive and extracting its oil is one of the most important factors in producing high quality olive oil. Modern olive orchards like those in Australia are usually better equipped than old fashioned European farms to harvest olives on time and have them processed quickly.

Extra virgin olive oils like wines, can vary dramatically in taste, depending upon the producer of the oil, the the time of harvest, type and quality of the fruit that is pressed, the weather during the growing season, and the region (nature of the soil) from which the olives were produced.

To produce the highest quality olive oil, olives must be handpicked one by one. Top quality oil is a handcrafted product and the price will reflect that.

Olive oils will go rancid more quickly if stored in a warm environment, and light hastens the loss of the health giving vitamin E like compound tocopherol over the shelf life of the oil. The oils should be stored in a dark and cool environment to ensure that they maintain their quality and aroma.

The International Olive Oil Council (IOOC) sets quality standards that most olive-oil-producing countries use, but the United States does not legally recognize these benchmarks. Every grade has a distinct quality and flavor, making each suitable for different uses and cooking methods.

About the Author:

Find out more onolive oilsand purchase hand blended infused olive oils at http://oliveoildip.com. Painting the walls a different color is right at the top but it is something you should consider carefully before you jump in. The kitchen is usually one of the most used rooms in a house so you must make sure you make the correct color choice.

Kitchen colors might be different from what you might choose for the den, basement, or other rooms in the house. Since the kitchen is often visible from other rooms such as the dining and living room, the color you choose should flow with the colors for those rooms. Consider the color carefully because you dont want to have to repaint a second time because the color wasnt right.

Another thing you can do to make your kitchen look different is to change the flooring. New houses all seem to be being built with wood floors now as they are very popular but that might not be the right surface for your kitchen. Bigger kitchens might look good with wood but if yours is small it might look better with tile or some other material. The floor color will of course be very important and must match with the walls.

Kitchen floors can be made out of all sorts of materials including tile, wood, stone, laminate, and granite. Hardwood kitchen floors are the most popular because people like the look of the wood and it often can be the same floor as the dining room. Stone and granite floors are more rare and you have to make sure you don't get a surface that will crack or chip. If you want to change the overall appearance of your kitchen, the floors are a great place to start.

The final thing that can make an immediate difference in a kitchen is the lighting. Some of the fancier lighting options include track lighting and lights that hang down from the ceiling similar to in a bar. You can use the lighting to highlight different parts of the kitchen and you can also use it effectively show off the color of the walls. Lighting is important in any room but especially so where it is needed for functionality as well as mood.

About the Author:

Are you looking for some good kitchen colour ideas? This is not such an impossible task. Diet does play a large role in controlling and preventing gout, so depending on your daily intake, you can either increase or reduce your risk of gout.

A person can suffer from gout if he is born with it, it is present in his family or he is obese. It is also more prevalent among men and those who are 40 to 60 years of age. If you can relate to any of these then you may want to focus on preventive measures.

An anti gout diet primarily consists of low-purine foods.

Foods high in fats and proteins have high purine content. Vegetable oils, greasy burgers and fatty fish are all high in purines, so you should avoid fried foods and naturally fatty produce. Basically, high purine content is found in almost all kinds of food: pork, beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, tuna, oysters, scallops, creams, eggs, peas and beans. But there are ways to have a low-purine diet and are illustrated below:

Eat more fruits and vegetables as part of your anti gout diet.

Most fruits and vegetables are high in potassium. Potassium regulates electrolytes in the body and has the ability to get rid of uric acid crystals from the blood. Potassium-rich fruits are bananas, avocados, apricots and cantaloupe. High-potassium vegetables include spinach, potatoes, asparagus, beets and pumpkin.

Start an anti gout diet now.

For breakfast, take low-fat protein foods. For example, drink low-fat milk and utilize only egg whites when cooking. Add onions and garlic for taste and use low-fat butter or margarine. High-protein foods that are low in fat have been found to be safe. Quench your thirst with vegetable juice or concentrated blackberry juice.

For lunch, prepare a cleansing lemon juice. Lemon juice is filled with vitamin C and antioxidants to help flush your body from unwanted uric acids. Couple the drink with a hearty salad and meal using tofu to replace red meat or chicken, finely chopped fresh garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

Grilled or baked lean meat, wrapped foil to retain moisture, is ideal for dinner. Pair with potatoes and steamed spinach. After dinners make sure to have a bowl of cherries, berries or grapes on the side.

Other tips for your anti gout diet:

Carefully watch your weight. Gout has been linked with health problems such as diabetes and obesity. Slowly restrict calories by introducing more of the gout preventing foods mentioned earlier. Avoid crash diets as these can actually trigger gout flare-ups. A good anti gout diet is always a balanced diet.

Drinking several glasses of water, from 8-10 a day, would also be good to prevent gout. Water dilutes uric acid (a cause of gout) and rids them from the body. Cloudy urine means you have high acid content in your body and this is not a healthy sign. Clear urine suggests that you are properly hydrated and well on your way to good health.

About the Author:

If you want to avoid gout in foot, maintain the healthiest anti gout diet. What if I told you that in addition to this I could save you hours in the kitchen?

Crock pots cook slow, but end up saving you hours in the kitchen. You can prepare your crock pot meal the night before or before you leave for work in the morning.

Top reasons to dust of the crock pot and start slow cooking again.

1. Save money. Starting a meal in the crock pot in the morning can save you from the temptation of grabbing fast food during the evening family rush hour. Save those fast food bucks for a meal out at a nice restaurant on the weekend when you have time to sit and enjoy it.

2. Save money. This reason's so nice we said it twice. Crockery cooking can make less-expensive cuts of meat tender and delicious.

3. Save time. Cook when you have more energy and less stress. Have your food ready and waiting for you rather than the other way around. Youll also save time on clean up. After the meal, you'll have just one pot to wash. If you have a crock pot with the removable crockery liner (and you really should), clean up is extra easy.

4. Eat healthy. It doesnt take a nutritionist to know that a meal of meat and veggies with a green salad on the side is going to be better for your body than another frozen pizza.

5. Keep your kitchen cool and your food hot. You won't have to heat up the whole house just to roast a chicken or cook a pot of stew. The crock pot also frees the oven and stove for other foods when you're cooking a big meal. Whatever you do, don't peak inside your crock pot by opening up the lid. That'll ruin your meal!

About the Author:

Try awesome crock pot recipes with RecipeMatcher.

I like both, but I like lemon bars the best! Lemon bars offer something that chocolate and vanilla do not. I really like my desserts fruity and buttery and I could easily polish off 5 lemon bars in one sitting.

Although, I enjoy store bought lemon bars and the lemon bars you can find in a coffee house, I'd rather make them myself. They are simple to make and delicious. Just follow these easy steps and you'll be enjoying lemon bars in no time.

Step 1 - Purchase all the ingredients needed for your lemon bar recipe. You probably have most of the ingredients at home, but if not, it's a quick trip to the store.

Step 2 - Here is the easy lemon bar recipe for awesome http://www.recipematcher.com/index.php/recipe/show/Best-Lemon-Bars/.

This lemon bar recipe is so quick and easy. Keep in mind that if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend that you'd like to impress, this is the best recipe. Lemon bars are also a great way to say thank you to somebody, just give them delicious lemon bars. If you make lemon bars for 1 girl, she'll definitely tell all of her friends. Not a bad reputation to have for a single man. Plus, you'll get some nice attention from the ladies next time you go out as a group.

Now for the downside of making and eating lemon bars. Well, there is no real downside for making lemon bars...it's more of the eating that will have some negative effects. Even though this is a fruit dessert, their are a lot of calories that come with eating lemon bars. I try to cut back on the amount of butter I use with this recipe. Most lemon bar recipes require an entire stick of butter, which is definitely not healthy and actually makes the lemon bar taste more like butter than lemons. Lemon bars are not the healthiest and in some cases chocolate is healthier than these lemon bars.

Good luck baking these delicious lemon bars and be sure to try out other recipes in order to find the one that you love the most.

About the Author:

Try RecipeMatcher's Awesome Lemon Bars

Comfort food makes you feel great, but why? Maybe, it reminds you of your childhood and eating delicious meals with your family after an afternoon of playing with your friends.

What are the nations top comfort foods? Here is a list of the Top 25 Comfort Foods: Apple Pie, Baked Beans, Banana Pudding, Beef Stew, Brisket Pot Roast, Chicken & Dumplings, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Soup, Chili, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Corn on the Cob, Fried Chicken, Gelatin, Green Bean Casserole, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, Macaroni & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Meatloaf, Potato Salad, Pumpkin Pie, Shepherd's Pie, Spaghetti, Tomato Soup, and Tuna Casserole.

Now, this list contains a lot of comfort foods that I love, the list also has some foods that I'd never eat, but it is a good list of comfort foods. My favorite comfort food that seems to be missing is: Meat Lasagna. I don't know anybody that hates a good meat lasagna. The ingredients are so delicious individually and when combined in a meat lasagna, it's the ultimate comfort food.

Add a nice salad with some italian dressing and serve with a slice of garlic bread, you'll be full and happy in no time. The substitutions are endless, too. You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey and you can add more cheese or less depending on what you prefer. You can also add red pepper flakes to give your meat lasagna a nice kick.

The great thing about lasagnas is that you can eat it for lunch the next day and it seems to just get better because the lasagna squares come together and the ingredients combine nicely.

If you are short on time, it is surprisingly easy and quick to make and it looks like you've been in the kitchen for hours. Also, with 1 large meat lasagna you can feed a family of 6, easily. And you'll have plenty to spare for the next day.

Stop delaying and get into the kitchen? Grab your ingredients and you'll be done in no time.

About the Author:

Try RecipeMatcher's delicious Meat Lasagna

Fortunately most wine club gift memberships provide the kind of background and training that helps the recipient match their selection to the perfect food or meal. This is where my experience with them has served me well.

Another benefit is that you always get real "insider savings" on every bottle selected as well as other bonuses. Take the wine glasses of the month perk for instance. You can save a bundle on purchasing these by just simply drinking that month's selection. This is often the cornerstone of belonging to a wine club.

International wine clubs offer offer exclusive benefits for their members. Four times per year you will receive a special gift basket to your front door. This is subject to the laws governing the shipment of wine which can vary widely. They can help someone to develop a real sense of their own preferences as well.

If there's one problem with trying a new vintage or brand it must be the time and effort that goes into shopping around all your options. These clubs remove that frustration by delivering it right to your doorstep. You can choose to pay either monthly, or go for the three-, six- or twelve-month membership. This is the key part. You typically just get billed for the bottles as they arrive, or one at a time beforehand.

Italy is a favorite country of many of the clubs as they produce a robust product with grapes possessing a vivid past that is sure to interest and intrigue the members. Italian wine aficionados are close-knit groups of people who buy, sell and trade and just talk about this with each other. Each country has its own system of alcohol regulation influenced by local businesses and politics.

A really good gourmet wine club tasting membership should also give you some varieties and options as to the types of wine you're interested in. Well, here is my reply to that statement: variety is the spice of life so obviously this is important and plays a big part.

About the Author:

For information about sparkling wine clubs and other wine club reviews check out our blog.

No chemicals, no harmful pesticides, and no unnatural fertilizers have been used. This is not only beneficial to the environment, which does indeed get help by recycling, composting, and enriching the soil. It is also better for you, each time you sit back to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

The beans are not called "green" because of these environmental benefits, nor are they green because they are not ripe. A green coffee bean is one which has not yet been roasted, a necessary process that must be followed, either by the distributor or the consumer, before the beans can be ground and brewed.

While most coffee drinkers find it far more convenient to buy their coffee already roasted, ground, and sealed in a can, more and more people are grinding their own beans, feeling that both the aroma and the taste of the brewed java is fresher. And now there are those who buy their coffee green, believing that tit lasts longer and stays fresher if it is roasted and ground just before brewing.

Because over ten billion pounds of coffee is consumed yearly, exceeded only by the use of petroleum on the world market, it really is wise to consider using only organically grown coffee. Yes, it is a bit more expensive, because of the extra man power used, and the speed with which it must be processed. You will pay less for green beans than those which are roasted before sold, but then you will have the responsibility of roasting them and grinding them yourself.

Organic green coffee beans come in almost as many varieties as the pre-roasted beans. You will not have difficulty finding decaffeinated, Hawaiian, Jamaican Blue Mountain, African, or the South American coffees.

Almost all coffee drinkers (and let's face it, almost everyone drinks coffee) drink a minimum of one cup a day. By drinking organic coffee, you are lessening the amount of artificial and harmful chemicals that you are ingesting, and you are also helping the environment.

Some say that organic coffee tastes softer and more fruity. Others say it tastes the same, but is fresher, and environmentally safe. The general consensus among organic green coffee buyers is that these beans stay fresh the longest of all beans. It is their practice to roast them in small batches, and then grind them as used.

About the Author:

Free Coffee Recipes and much more! Cooking suggestions help you side step the many problems in cooking and make dish preparation easier. Short on knowledge? Lacking in patience? You can still give the illusion of being a skilled chef in no time after a few tiny suggestions.

The number one rule if you want to succeed in the kitchen is to always buy fresh food. When buying fruits or groceries, take time to inspect the products thoroughly. With packaged foods, pay close attention to the expiration date printed on the box.

Beef, poultry, and fish should always be fresh, as well. For safety reasons, and to make sure your meats stay fresh, keep them in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook with them, and use both soap and water to clean any utensils that you might use.

Before you serve your food, make sure that it was being cooked for a long enough time and reached a proper temperature. You could even use a cooking thermometer to check if the temperature is at around 140 degrees F. If you want the meal to be served cold, make sure that the temperature does not exceed 40 degrees F.

As you probably know, a good mechanic always uses the right tools to fix a car. Likewise, an additional cooking suggestion is that you make sure your kitchen is stocked with items that will make the preparation and cooking of your dishes easier. You'll want to get a good set of knives, pots, pans, and measuring cups to help you cook, along with a blender and food processor as well. In order to add a fun accent to a dish, buying a device such as the Mickey Mouse Waffle Maker can be of great help.

There is a conception in our society that all low fat food has to be lacking in taste. However, it has been proved over and over again that low fat dishes can be made in a way that makes them colorful, vibrant, and delicious. Simply think out your dishes carefully before you prepare them, and then use a lot of fresh spices, olive oil and herbs to emphasize the taste. For example, you can make almost any dish low in fat just by ensuring the least amount of oil is used, and selecting lean cuts of beef and pork.

Finally, selecting the right kind of beverage to go along with your meal is highly important. Depending on the type of food, you could choose red or white wine, green or jasmine tea. Do not make the mistake and neglect mineral water- it is a universal drink that suits most foods just fine.

About the Author:

Would you like to make your meals more colorful? It is, of course, never good enough just to design and open a restaurant, whilst paying no heed to how you are going to attract new clients or how to ensure that they return as regular patrons. As an entrepreneur, you should spend a great deal of your time brainstorming about a variety of marketing initiatives and make sure that you have finalized a PR plan specifically tailored to the industry before you set out.

Good restaurant public relations starts with a plan for the grand opening of the establishment. A minimum of two weeks before your big day, send out press releases to a variety of local media outlets to help you get advance coverage and appear in local event calendars. Be prepared for a good attendance and prepare everything to be ready before the big day.

You should have a dedicated restaurant public relations person to give out media kits to visitors at your grand opening. The kits must include the menus, facts and figures about the business and biographies on yourself and the head chef. Make sure that these kits are professionally produced and whilst you are at it, book a professional photographer to get a valuable record of the event.

If you have being smart and teamed up with local chambers of commerce and/or nonprofit organizations, then you should get them involved in your restaurant's opening festivities and at the same time check that you have reached out to their lists of media contacts. It doesn't matter if these overlap in some way, cross promotion can be a significant part of the restaurant public relations initiative.

Special events can be pivotal to restaurant public relations success and you should focus on the calendar during your first few months. How about featuring an art show alongside certain events, or creating an annual or semiannual wine festival. Open up your business to a whole new raft of potential clients and give yourself valuable PR exposure to boot.

Local newspaper editors are often looking for material to fill their pages and you should try and make friends with them, most especially if they have a significant food and drink section. If you can establish yourself as an authority figure and provide a lot of good news and material to them on a regular basis without pitching your business, then this would pay dividends. Whenever they need advice or input they will think of you and the resulting column inches can be valuable PR exposure.

Your permissions-based mailing lists should be supplied with great food related stories and information at regular intervals. As an example, whenever a holiday such as Thanksgiving is approaching, send them great recipes and ideas for family get-togethers and parties. Remember, you're not selling your products but establishing restaurant public relations at its best.

Restaurant public relations begins and ends with a plan. Never be tempted to wing it and always have a calendar of events, together with associated key dates, for action whilst continuing to develop personal relationships with important people locally.

About the Author:

Writer Jose L Riesco shows you the most effective methods for getting more visitors to your restaurant at www.myrestaurantmarketing.com.
