Saint Bernard Club of America National and Preshow Results

Hello fellow (non) readers! Long time, no post, I know. Very clearly, I know. Life has gotten busy with a kindergartner, Matt’s new job, PTA meetings, dog shows and me schlepping out to the kennels to feed and clean. It’s definitely not been a snoozer here on my end. But let’s get to those results, shall we?

This year’s National was held in Oregon. Matt and I were unable to attend, but two of our bitches, Donna and Greta, were able to attend. Greta was entered in all 3 shows and all 3 Sweepstakes, but did nothing. I’ll get to that later. Donna, who co-bred the litter that Greta is out of, is coming home with a dog…..a stuffed one that I have told her explicitly is not coming in my house. I have enough dogs, living and stuffed, to suffice at this very moment in time, I don’t need anymore dog shit. No pun intended.

Do I have anything to say?

I do, quite a lot actually. And just not enough time to do it! Brenna started Kindergarten last week and now I am the “official” lunch packer, backpack loader and unloader, stylist and hairdresser. Not neccesarily in that order. If I hear about how much she loves pancakes anymore, I am going to scream! The girl could live on them. And I, Lucky Charms, but we won’t get into that. Then I have Rowan walking around saying, “Where’s Luci?” and it breaks my heart everytime she says it. She calls Patsy Luci. And then it would have been Luci’s 7th birthday last Saturday and I was out there in the rain crying at her grave. I guess Matt was right, I have been holding it in. Well, it’s out. I miss her dearly and I’m certain there will be that special dog in the future somewhere. I’m not quite convinced it’s on my property now, but maybe. Brogan will make a fine house dog one day, eleven years from now when it’s his turn. And I think Greta has learned, finally, to not jump on me. Sinatra has not let me down, again, this year. He went right over to my Chocolate Mint plant and nibbled on it this weekend. Right after he peed on it. Stupid male dogs! What is it with them?

I have some stories that I need to work on, some issues I need to address. One horrific story that just came to me this morning that has me scared. I DO have a lot to say…..but should I or shouldn’t I?
