I finally did it, I married the love of my life - on our favorite holiday, Halloween! We didn't have a big wedding because this was a spontaneous FUN decision! We do plan to have a vow renewal ceremony though, so stay tuned!

It is very important when you set out to start planning your wedding that you comprise a full list of things you need to purchase, tasks you must complete and reservations you must make to ensure that you do not miss anything. Nothing is worse than remembering that you forgo to book the mariachi band for the reception or that you forgot to find that extra special pair of honeymoon panties to surprise your new groom.

If you have a wedding planner, usually she has a list that she can print off for you but if you are going at the planning all on your own. Check with online sites that provide wedding planning and you might be surprised at what is missing from your list. Often you cover the basics but forget the small nuances such as candies at the tables or even favors. Weddings are a joyous occasion but for the planner, it can be a virtual nightmare up until the last guest leaves the reception. One forgotten item and to you, the whole night could be compromised, even if the bridge and groom never notice.

If you happen to be the bride (or groom for that case) you surely do not want to disappoint your significant other by leaving out something simple. When you have a list, never check anything off until you have the item in your possession or you have a confirmation of reservation. This will help to avoid confusion. Also, if you have others helping you: work off the same list at all times to ensure you do not cross-communicate and either duplicate items or forget them altogether.

A couple that I have known for several years have finally decided to tie the knot. They have been living together for quite sometime now so instead of having the traditional bridal shower they are going to have a "stock the bar" party. I thought this was a great and unique idea. This way they won't get the normal gifts that they already have purchased over the years. I came up with the idea of a wine basket.

• Step 1 Blow dry hair first, then apply ghd Heat Protect Spray to give your hair ultimate protection from the heat of your hairdryer.

• Step 2 Lightly mist your hair with ghd Curl Hold Spray . Separate your hair into 2 sections. In each section, place the ghd Gold Max styler in at the roots, rotate it 180° and glide the styler through the hair until reaching the end. Catch each section as it falls, and loosely twist it around your finger to define the curl.

• Step 3 For the top section of the hair, continue the same technique. For softer curls at the ends of the hair, straighten the hair and rotate 180° towards the end. Finish the hairstyle with ghd Final Fix Spray for extra hold.

• Step 4 Once cool remove the clips and shake through spritzing with ghd Final Fix Spray to hold the style in place.

This look is perfect for brides who have long hair but do not like the look of their hair up in a bun or twist.

If you prefer some sort of up style, we love this one!

• Step 1 Pull your hair into a loose pony tail and secure with a band. To conceal the band, pull a piece of hair from underneath the pony tail, wrap around the band & secure by lightly misting with ghd ultimate hairspray.

• Step 2 Depending upon the thickness of your hair, separate the ponytail into 3-6 sections and lightly mist with ghd creation spray for longer lasting curls.

• Step 3 In each section, place the ghd IV styler in at the roots, rotate it 180° and slowly glide the styler slowly through the hair until reaching the end. Catch the hair as it falls, and twist it around your finger to increase the curl.

• Step 4 To separate and soften the curls, run your fingers through them. To create a teardrop shaped hairstyle, gently backcomb the hair at the root area which gives volume. Gently tease the remaining tendrils into shape.

• Step 5 To complete our bridal hairstyle, use the ghd IV styler for a smooth bevelled fringe & lightly mist with ghd reflection spray for all over shine.

No matter if you choose to wear your hair up or down, these styles will enhance your beauty as a bride!
