Web App "Accessible Twitter" Changes Name to "Easy Chirp"

Accessible Twitter, the esteemed application written by Dennis Lembree of Web Overhauls, will now go by the name Easy Chirp (www.easychirp.com). Easy Chirp is a web-accessible application that empowers users with disabilities and low-end technology to access Twitter, the popular social micro-blogging web service. Web Overhauls Owner to Keynote at AccessU

The owner of Web Overhauls, Dennis Lembree, will give the keynote address at this year's AccessU Accessibility Conference. The event is May 17-19 2011 in Austin, Texas. Mr. Lembree will speak about his experiences throughout his career in the web development and accessibility profession.

Accessible Twitter Receives AFB Access Award

The web application Accessible Twitter, which is developed by Web Overhauls, has been honored with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) 2011 Access Award. Other recipients are CBS, Lexmark, and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. An awards ceremony will be held Friday, March 11, at the 2011 JLTLI conference in downtown Seattle, Washington.

Final Schedule for Vision Midwest Conference

The final schedules for sessions and events at the 12 State Vision Midwest Conference have been posted. The conference offers educational, sports and cultural opportunities to blind and visually impaired individuals and to the professionals who assist them. It is being held October 22 through 24 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Two Projects Nominated for Award

Two projects affiliated with Web Overhauls, Web Axe and Accessible Twitter, are nominated in dot net magazine's 2010 Best of the Web awards. Web Axe is nominated for Podcast of the Year, and Accessible Twitter for Best API Use. Finalists will be announced October 20.

Insights Institute Web Site Launched

Web Overhauls is proud to announce the launch of a new web site, The Insights Institute. The organization provides "Continuing education instruction for corporate, community or caregiver training." All classes are presented by Laura Legendary, an experienced professional in disability awareness, accessibility, assistive technology and in-home health care. Ms. Legendary is also the founder of Legendary Insights.

New Client: Vision Midwest Conference

Web Overhauls has secured a new client, 12 State Inc, a non-profit organization in Madison, Wisconsin. Web Overhauls and 12 State will be working together to to create the web site for a new event, the Vision Midwest Conference.

The conference is scheduled to premiere in October of 2010. Its target audience is blind and visually impaired individuals as well as professionals serving the blind and low vision population.
