The fight between World Boxing Organization super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire and World Boxing Association super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux is sealed. This is a title-unification bout on April 13 either in California or New York. It was a wise decision because if he can beat Donaire then he’ll have a lot of opportunities available to him for bigger paydays starting with a rematch against Donaire.

There’s no way Donaire would walk away from a defeat. He’ll fight Rigondeaux again if he loses, and you expect Rigondeaux to get a much better deal the second time around.
This is going to be a really good test to see how good Donaire is because he’s mostly fought aggressive smaller guys with that have come right at him. Rigondeaux is another smaller fighter, to be sure, but he’s a pure counter puncher and he’s good at making his opponents pay when they load up.

Donaire’s entire game is build up on loading up on his left hook to nail guys that come right at him.

If Rigondeaux can take Donaire’s left hook, like Omar Narvaez did, Donaire is a much more limited fighter. At that point Donaire might have to run around the ring like he did against Rafael Concepcion, when he took Donaire’s left hook away from him. Donaire took a lot of punishment in that fight because Conception was able to block and/or duck Donaire’s wild left hooks.

Rigondeaux will test Donaires ability to take body shots in this fight, and if he fails that test then we’ll see Rigondeaux walk out of the ring with Donaire’s World Boxign Organization title. Even more analyst explained that Rignodeaux is the better boxer. Some felt that Rigondeaux is one of those special talents who could become a top pound-for-pound boxer himself. Boxing fans if you want to see this fight live and feel the excitement then buy Donaire vs Rigondeaux Tickets. The sale of boxing tickets will reach new heights for this long awaited bout between world champions.

Even though Pacquiao won their most recent fight in a close decision, Pacquiao contends Márquez has insisted he won the fight. Fighter of the Decade Manny Pacquiao has decided to fight Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 8. Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz told the Manila Standard that Pacquiao had chosen Marquez over a rematch with Timothy “Deseret Storm” Bradley, pointing out that “next to a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr a fight with Marquez would be the best.”

Koncz who was driving back to Los Angeles after finalizing details of an agreement with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum in Las Vegas said “you know how Manny is. He wants to entertain the fans. In his last fight with Marqauez which was close, some of the Mexican fans booed the decision. Manny cares for the Mexicans who have always supported him and he wants to bring them back with a great fight.”

Arum confirmed the December 8 Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 face off and indicated he will hopefully have the contracts signed by the end of the week. He said “this should be a good one.” Koncz said he had discussed the training schedule of Pacquiao with Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach who is in Las Vegas training Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for his huge title defense against Diamond Belt champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez on Saturday before a record-breaking crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Koncz said that Pacquiao had agreed to set up training camp at the Wild Card Gym and not split his preparations for the fight with the first part taking place in the Philippine summer capital of Baguio City. In an earlier interview with Jenna Jay of Doghouse Boxing’s “On the Ropes” radio show, Roach said a showdown with Marquez “is a very difficult fight” and because Marquez has a difficult style, “we just have to get in the gym and work real hard for this fight.”

Pacquiao who is scheduled to fly to Los Angeles on Friday for two stagings of his entertainment show telecast on GMA 7 appears to be engrossed in his congressional re-election bid, charity work and his role as a bible-toting preacher prompting Roach to tell Jenna Jay that Pacquiao “really needs to focus. It’s a very difficult fight style-wise for us.

He does give us problems but I think if Manny gets in the best shape he can , we will finally close the book on Marquez.” Pacquiao dropped Marquez three times in the opening round of their first encounter before the Mexican counter-punched his way to a split draw although an admitted scoring error by judge Burt Clements who scored the first round 10-7 instead of 10-6 as the two other judges did, cost Pacquiao the decision in a WBA/IBF featherweight title bout.

Pacquiao won a close rematch by a majority decision to grab Marquez’ WBC super featherweight title and then retained his WBO welterweight title in a hugely controversial split decision victory. Roach noted that Marquez who is trained by another Hal-of-Famer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain “is very slick and he knows how to get Manny to move to his right hand and we just got to nullify that.

We just have to find a way to avoid that lead right hand. We have not found a way yet in three fights but we better get it done in this fight or we won’t win this one.” Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza echoed Roach’s sentiments and said a Marquez fight “is not going to be easy. He stressed that Pacquiao “has to go back to the old ways of training, focus more on the other stuff” and train solely at the Wild Card Gym.

Things heated up between the fight of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez traded barbs during the press conference for their upcoming title showdown on September 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The build up to the match has been pretty exciting and that is why many boxing fans are eagerly awaiting for this historic match.

Sergio Gabriel Martinez is a boxing star who was born on February 21, 1975 In Argentina. This Argentine professional boxer now is a champion of The Ring Middleweight category. In past he was in light middleweight class and even won WBC Light Middleweight title and WBC Latino title.

Julio César Chávez Carrasco is an undefeated boxer from Mexico who was born February 16, 1986. Chavez is the current WBC Middleweight champion. He took part in 48 fights among which he won 46 and 32 he won by KO.

Chavez vs Martinez live stream is more than what the average boxing fan would ask for. The beauty of watching live in HD is that the pictures are crystal clear and the experience can only be substituted with the live footage. If you are an avid boxing fan, then you should not miss this match at whatever cost. With this kind of match, anything can happen and that is why the build up has received a lot of coverage. Chavez vs Martinez stream is a match to savour.

Manny Pacquiao hasn’t fought since November 2011 which is normal it the world of professional boxing but one thing is clear, he has been training full time and looking forward to his return to the ring. Timothy Bradley last boxing fight was the same night as Pacquiao’s last fight since they were both on that same fight card at the MGM Grand Arena. Both actually won their respective fights and now approximately 7 months later they will face each other. Pacquiao boasts an impressive pro boxing career standing at 54 wins (38 impressive knockouts and 16 by decision) and 3 losses but at almost 35 years old critics claim this Pacquiao vs Bradley fight may be his hardest match up yet.

As for Timothy Bradley, he’s currently at the peak of his career at a young age of 28 and holds an undefeated title with a pure 28 wins in his professional boxing career. This Pacquiao vs Bradley fight is Timothy Bradley’s opportunity to jump from where he currently is at into another Mayweather/Pacquiao type of boxer who brings in $30 Million+ to fight on pay per view. I have a gut feeling about this one and I think Bradley has the drive that Pacquiao no longer has and sometimes that is all it takes to defeat a better opponent. I’m not stating that I’ll be sticking in Bradley’s corner I’m simply saying if Bradley wins in the Pacquiao vs Bradley bout it wouldn’t be so shocking to me since I can see where he’s coming from.

Cotto his power and strength will beat Mayweather

Current WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is confident that his power and strength will be a major factor when he fights undefeated American star Floyd Mayweather. The Mayweather vs Cotto fight will be on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Cotto will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight title against Mayweather, who will be fighting at the 154-pound weight division for the first time since 2007.

“There’s no doubt I have the power to win this fight. If anything, my power has strengthened,” Cotto said in a RingTV interview. “That will make the difference.”

Cotto also believes the weight will be a major factor since Mayweather has not fought at the 154-pound division for a long time, whereas he has gotten used to that weight.

“No one should forget that I am very comfortable at 154 pounds,” Cotto said. “That will be a huge asset going into this match.”

In Mayweather’s only other fight at junior middleweight, he defeated Oscar De La Hoya via split decision in May 2007. At the time, it was the biggest win of Mayweather’s career and solidified his status as a superstar boxer in the United States.

But Cotto is not fazed by his status as the underdog against Mayweather, one of the pound-for-pound kings of boxing.

“I know Mayweather fans are very insistent that he only wins. But Floyd hasn’t fought what he will be fighting come May 5,” Cotto said

“On that day, Floyd is going to fight the best opponent he has ever been in a ring with, and the fighter is me. I can’t wait for this one,” he added.

Mayweather disagrees that the weight division will play a role in their bout, however.

“I think with me it really don’t play a major factor, but with some fighters it does play a major factor, because some guys can push certain guys around,” Mayweather said.

“But you know me; I think my skills are on a different level from any other fighter, so when it’s all said and done, skills pay the bills...

In an interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radion, Richardson explained that the weight class, along with Cotto’s fighting spirit, will play significant roles in the match.

“You can’t just lock in on one-sided,” said Richardson, who has trained former world champions “Sugar” Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins. “The last time Floyd has been at this weight was probably his toughest contest.”

Richardson is referring to Mayweather’s May 2007 bout against Oscar De La Hoya, which he won via split decision. The respected trainer also called Cotto “a special kid.”

“Cotto’s a kid who has pretty much re-energized himself. You know, he felt like he went back and redeemed himself from the (Antonio) Margarito fight, and Cotto’s a special kid, too,” Richardson said.

Cotto’s career was at a crossroads when he lost to Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao via a 12th round technical knockout in 2009.

He has since moved up in weight to the junior middleweight division and won three straight bouts, including a victory over Margarito last December. In the process, he avenged one of his two career losses.

“So, one-sided? I never count on that against champions, against guys who are true champions. You don’t see one-sided,” Richardson said.

Mayweather acknowledged that moving up in weight will give Cotto a slight advantage, but guaranteed that he can beat Cotto at any weight.

“Fight fans, get ready, because I am about to dethrone the current king of the 154-pound weight class,” Mayweather said.

Mayweather vs Cotto: Bayless leading candidate for referee

Referee Kenny Bayless was the leading candidate to officiate the May 5th super fight between undefeated Floyd Mayweather and WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Bayless, 62, was the referee in Cotto fights against Antonio Margarito in 2008 and Manny Pacquiao in 2009 and in Mayweather Jr. fights against Oscar de la Hoya in 2007 and Sugar Shane Mosley in 2010.

Bayless, known as one of the most impartial referees in Las Vegas, also officiated the Mosley versus Floyd Mayweather fight and the Mayweather versus Oscar de la Hoya superbout.

Although he refused to give his fight prediction in Mayweather vs Cotto, Bayless said he expects a clean bout between the two ring warriors.

"I've refereed both of them many times and I know their styles," he said. "I do know they both fight clean and that's what I'm expecting. A clean fight and believe it or not, I think that's what we are going to get is a clean fight. I don't foresee any problems that are going to develop. Their styles speak for themselves when they are in the ring."

Bayless is excited about the Mayweather vs Cotto fight with a professional tone, he can’t hide his enthusiasm towards being involved in such an event.

“A lot of people ask if I would be doing it,” said Bayless. “I get pretty pumped up when I get notification of fights of this caliber. It starts to prepare me on what I’m going to have to do."

Cotto has a solid gameplan vs Mayweather

The highly anticipated bout this year Mayweather vs Cotto scheduled on May 5th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Dubbed as Ring Kings, which co-features the match-up between Saul Alvarez and Shane Mosley, the event featuring three-division world champion Miguel Cotto and five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather will be another exciting battle this year.

Before Cotto will step up to the ring and face Mayweather, Miguel Cotto will need a "good strategy" if he hopes to pull off an upset against undefeated American champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. when they fight on May 5 in Las Vegas.

I think he definitely needs a good strategy to win the fight. I don't know what strategy he and his trainers are using.

Cotto's going to have to have a definite solid plan because Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the best all-around boxers I ever saw.

Steward worked with Cotto for his first two fights in the junior middleweight division, which saw the Puerto Rican boxer defeat Yuri Foreman and Ricardo Mayorga. But Cotto replaced Steward with Cuban trainer Pedro Luis Diaz prior to his rematch against Antonio Margarito last December.

Cotto won the rematch against Margarito via a 10th round technical knockout, but Cotto did not do anything new in that fight.

I know in that last fight when he beat Margarito, he just simply was really using the same thing he did the first time. He was just out-speeding Margarito, because he's slow.

The fact that Margarito was getting to him at the end, and really had almost started duplicating the first fight, meant that he was going to have problems going down the stretch over those last two rounds.

Against Mayweather, Cotto will need a "much more defined game plan".

If Cotto fights the right fight, one of the keys is going to be a good jab and he's going to have to maintain his balance at all times," he said. "He cannot be fighting with his head down too far, and his elbows out, and his feet spread apart while he’s trying to bob and weave."

Floyd is too crafty for that and Floyd will systematically pick him apart. A lot of the intangibles favor Floyd.

I'm expecting Mayweather to put on a good show and "try and make a statement" against Cotto.

I have so much repsect for Floyd Mayweather for taking this fight, because he wants to do something big and spectacular. Since it wasn't (Manny) Pacquiao, to me the biggest and best fight he could have made, and maybe one of the riskiest, was Miguel Cotto.

Cotto ready for war vs Mayweather

WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will be ready to go to war when he steps into the ring against undefeated American superstar Floyd Mayweather on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

This, according to his Cuban trainer, Pedro Diaz.

“Miguel is ready for war. He is ready for victory, and that is our goal,” Diaz said during Cotto’s open workout, as quoted by Boxing Scene.

“We had a great camp. Miguel is working really hard, and he is putting a lot of motivations and focus into every training session, which will be the key to win,” he added.

Diaz replaced Emanuel Steward as Cotto’s trainer prior to the Puerto Rican’s most recent bout, a technical knockout victory over Mexican boxer Antonio Margarito.

Cotto will defend his World Boxing Association junior middleweight belt in the fight, but is considered the underdog against the undefeated Mayweather.

This does not concern Cotto, however. “I am thinking of victory,” he said. “And after that, we will celebrate.”

“I feel that this is my moment. I feel great, and I am in my prime... I am motivated to fight anyone in boxing,” Cotto said.

“This is going to be mine and Mayweather’s next big chapters in our careers,” he added.

Cotto moved up in weight to junior middleweight following his technical knockout loss to Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in November 2009.

He has since won three straight fights, taking the WBA junior middleweight title from Yuri Foreman in 2010 before successfully defending the belt against Ricardo Mayorga and Margarito. Mayweather vs Cotto will fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mayweather admit Cotto is difficult opponent

Floyd Mayweather who is already moving up from welterweight (147 lbs) to Junior middleweight is set to face and defeat Miguel Cotto for the WBA world title. The Mayweather vs Cotto fight takes place on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and has all the makings of a classic. During the interview, Floyd Mayweather states that Miguel Cotto will be a difficult opponent for him.

But Mayweather promise to be an aggressive fighter and Mayweather says that he feels he can knock him out. Mayweather knows when to be a boxer and when to be a slugger. He depends on his shoulder-roll defense most of the time and he is one of the few boxers who can win the brawl even though he is moving backward.

“I just have to see how the fight plays out, but I’m going to approach it in a very ,very aggressive way and go out there and press the attack early,” Mayweather added.

“I feel that my hands are faster, I’m the best counter-puncher. I’m a guy that’s blessed with the ability to go uo and down and beat the best fighters they have in the sport of boxing”, Mayweather added.

Miguel Cotto who is an expert in ring control and delivering blow by blow to the body can break dent ribs of Mayweather.

“If sports is something about skills, conditioning, preparation and you have to be clear, all over in all sports and if you can contribute to make the sports better, more clear I am not mad with that”, said Cotto.

The Mayweather vs Cotto fight also dubbed as Ring Kings is a heavily anticipated match between two great fighters of the decade.

Mayweather wants to KO Cotto

Undefeated WBA Welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr says he will knockout the current WBA Junior Welterweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico on “Cinco de Mayo” (Saturday, May 5), Mayweather vs Cotto will collide at the MGM Grand Arena. Mayweather last fight was against Victor Ortiz which he suffered criticisms after he hit Ortiz with a sucker punch after the latter butted him in the fourth round of their fight.

Mayweather made it clear that he is no longer the defensive style fighter that he has always been. He said that his fighting style changed, especially since the fight vs Ortiz. When speaking about Cotto, Mayweather says that he feels he can knock him out. He said that when someone has been knocked out like Cotto has, that he believes it can happen again, and Mayweather plans to use this to his advantage. In fact, he is already training for this forthcoming fight because he
knows he has to work hard to develop the perfect game plan for this orthodox opponent with knockout power in both hands. Mayweather promise to be aggressive vs Cotto on their fight.

Miguel Cotto is coming off of a decisive victory over Antonio Margarito and just to be fighting Floyd Mayweather is an accomplishment for him, especially after having lost to Pacquiao so badly just a few years ago. Cotto has a better knockout percentage than Mayweather and his impressive performance in a rematch versus Margarito made him a much sellable fighter. Won his last three fights by stoppage, Cotto has a huge chance of pulling an upset against the 7-1 favorite Mayweather especially that the fight is at Miguel’s weight division.

Held at the 154-lb weight class, the Mayweather vs Cotto fight will be a very interesting bout because this is only the second time Mayweather climb the weight division.

Miguel Cotto is fine with random blood testing

Puerto Rican boxing star Miguel Cotto is fine with random blood and urine testing for his junior middleweight bout against unbeaten American star Floyd Mayweather on May 5 in Las Vegas. Mayweather has demanded that all of his opponents undergo random blood and urine testing, with the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) administering the tests.

In an interview with Boxing Scene, Cotto said he has no problems with the drug testing and believes it will keep the sport of boxing "clean."

"In sports, if it's something about skills, conditioning or preparation, you have to be clean. In all sports, you have to be clean," Cotto said.

"And if you can contribute to make the sport better and more clean, I'm not mad about that," he added.

Cotto said he agreed with Mayweather's demands for random blood and urine testing so he can contribute to the sport's image.

"I'm a sportsman, and all I want is a clean, more clean sport that the people can trust," he said. "People can sit in their homes and watch real fighters who are not using anything to have an advantage."”

Moreover, Cotto said he has already experienced drug testing when he competed in the Olympics.

"It's the same system used in the Olympics in 2000. It's a simple pinch," he said. "Four to six times during camp. It's not going to be bigger than a spoon of blood. It isn’t going to take anything out of me."

Random blood and urine testing were among the issues preventing a potential mega-fight between pound-for-pound kings Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather.

“This will be the kind of test that will motivate me to train harder. Miguel Cotto will fight hard. It will be a very exciting fight. On May 5th, it won’t be an ordinary day. We’re going to give people all around the world what they want to see,” Mayweather said.

Mayweather has won championships in five divisions: super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and junior middleweight.

Though Pacquiao has agreed to all of Mayweather's drug-testing demands, the negotiations for the mega-fight fell apart anew after the American boxer refused to agree to a 50-50 revenue split.

Pacquiao has also filed a defamation case against Mayweather after the latter accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs.

Mayweather promises to be aggressive vs Cotto

Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. promises to be aggressive when he challenges Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto for the World Boxing Association junior middleweight belt on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will only be the second time in his career that Mayweather fought above the welterweight division. He previously won the World Boxing Council junior middleweight title after beating Oscar De La Hoya via split decision in May 2007. Mayweather admitted that fighting at a higher weight class will be a “challenge” for him.

"Am I going to be in a very, very aggressive style? I believe so," Mayweather told Boxing Scene.

Mayweather is noted for his defensive skills, but he said he has become more offensive-minded, especially in his last fight against Victor Ortiz in September 2011.

"As you can see in my last fight, as each round went on, I started throwing more and more combinations because I feel that every fighter comes out strong the first, second and third round," he said. "But there's nine more."

Moreover, Mayweather noted that Cotto may become tentative against him because the Puerto Rican boxer has been knocked out twice: by Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao.

"I feel like if a guy has hit the canvas before, it's in his mind that it can happen again," Mayweather said in a separate Boxing Scene report.

Mayweather will have to move up to junior middleweight division to fight Cotto, but the undefeated fighter is unconcerned about this.

"I feel that my hands are faster, I'm the better counter-puncher. I've shown that I have a great chin," he said.

"I don't have to go in the fight weighing 154-pounds. I'm a guy that's blessed with the ability to go up and down and beat the best fighters they have in the sport of boxing," Mayweather added.

It will be Mayweather's second time fighting at the junior middleweight division. In 2007, he defeated Oscar De La Hoya via split decision to win the World Boxing Council junior middleweight belt.

Mayweather vs Cotto on May 5

WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather will step up in weight and challenge Miguel Cotto for his WBA Super Welterweight World title. Mayweather vs Cotto will take place on Saturday, May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will be televised live on pay-per-view. Mayweather vs Cotto, a 12-round fight for Cotto’s WBA Super Welterweight World title, is presented by Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Miguel Cotto Promotions.

The undefeated Mayweather, (41-0, 25 KO’s), a seven-time world champion in five weight divisions, remains boxing’s biggest attraction, wowing crowds and generating record pay-per-view numbers each time he steps into the ring. Mayweather returns to face Cotto in an attempt to capture his eighth world championship.

Floyd Mayweather, a seven-time world champion in five weight classes, is excited to be facing the heavier, much-tested Miguel Cotto, who is the pride of Puerto Rico and has the experience, heart and determination to give pound for pound king Mayweather the toughest fight of his career.

Cotto, coming off of the second defense of his title, a spectacular tenth-round technical knockout win over Antonio Margarito in December 2011, is ready to face Mayweather and believes he is Mayweather’s most competitive career challenge to date.

In addition to agreeing to the terms of the bout which will take place on Cinco de Mayo, one of boxing’s biggest weekends, both fighters have agreed to Olympic-style drug testing for the fight.

Cotto (36-2, 29 KO’s), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, has held a world title every year since 2004 while winning 16 of the 18 world championship bouts in which he has fought. Puerto Rico’s most exciting fighter and one of its greatest of all time, Cotto held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Welterweight crown from 2004-2006, successfully defending it six times before vacating it to capture the WBA Welterweight title at the end of 2006, a title he held for nearly as long.

Mayweather twits Arum: 'Call Schaefer, stop lying'

Unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. once again fired off a series of tweets, this time singling out Top Rank chief executive officer Bob Arum, the promoter of his rival, Filipino boxing icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

In his first tweet, Mayweather (42-0) reiterated that he is "ready to fight Pacquiao 5/5/12."

"Bob Arum know the date can't change, I have my guarantee," he added.

Mayweather's adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, announced last year that the fighter has blocked off May 5 as the date for his ring return. This was in jeopardy for a while as Mayweather was sentenced to 90 days in jail following a domestic violence charge, but his jail time was put off so he can fulfill his fight obligations.

The unbeaten boxer then instructed Arum to "call (Richard) Schaefer and Al (Haymon) and stop lying to the public."

Schaefer is the chief executive officer of Golden Boy Promotions, while Haymon is one of Mayweather's advisers. Golden Boy has promoted all of Mayweather's fights following his May 2007 victory over Oscar de la Hoya.

Mayweather's instructions are seemingly in response to Arum's recent statements, wherein the Top Rank boss said he is "unsure" if Schaefer and Golden Boy will even be involved in the negotiations.

"Unlike Top Rank, that has a contract with Manny, we are involved. Marquez made the statement during the Manila leg of their global press tour promoting their Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 fight in November 12 welterweight title fight.

“I won the first 2 fights… In 2004 and 2008,” he asserted.

This was his reply when asked if his career would be complete even without a win against Pacquiao. He, however, admitted being grateful to be given the chance to square off with the fighting congressman again.

“I feel very happy for the opportunity… I expect the best Manny Pacquiao for this fight,” said Marquez.

The two boxers will be fighting it out for the 3rd time at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2004, Pacquiao scored 3 first round knockdowns against Marquez. The Mexican, however, was able to salvage a draw. Four years later, the Filipino champion edged the Mexican with a split decision.

The November 12 fight will take place at a 144-pound catchweight, 13 pounds higher than the 130-pound division they last fought in. Marquez is confident that he can handle the added weight on his frame, despite losing a 144-pound catchweight fight to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2009. He claimed that he lost to Mayweather because the latter ran and ran during their bout.

“Mayweather doesn’t like to fight and I want to fight. Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz will face each other on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will be looking for a better finish to prove a point that he is a better fighter than the unbeaten Mayweather Jr. Ortiz believes he can give the 34-year-old Mayweather a hard fight, unlike his previous opponents Andre Berto, in their upcoming welterweight bout. Mayweather is a tough guy and durable. It would be incredible if Ortiz stops him. It would prove that he’s better than the other guy who couldn't stop him.

Team Ortiz going to force the action and go for it this time. If it comes, it comes. I think Ortiz is definitely the guy to do it. Knocking out Mayweather would be a difficult task for Ortiz because the 34-year-old former pound for pound and 5 division world champion hasn't lost by knockout in his career. Although I personaly wants Victor Ortiz to send Mayweather to dream land, team Ortiz is really looking for a knockout and an epic war between two of the best welterweights in the world.

Right now team Ortiz were not really focused on the knockout. Ortiz work hard in the training and if it comes, it comes. Victor Ortiz need to prepared himselves to fight 12 rounds. If the knockout comes it would be excited about it. It’s the kind of fight that’s better than Shane Mosley and Pacquiao. Like Manny, Mayweather moves fast and has great foot speed and power also.

That’s what I want on this Mayweather vs Ortiz contest... a war! Victor Ortiz throws a lot of punches and that’s good for us to give the fans a good fight. Ortiz should pressure Mayweather a lot and promised that he won’t back down and make that fight a war that the fans will never forget. Both fighters are amazing. The only issue that I have is the size factor. Floyd is the bigger man. Then again, Victor Ortiz is a southpaw. I expect a wonderful Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz fight with this one.

Victor Ortiz ready for war against Floyd Mayweather

The odds of Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz will obviously be in favor of “Pretty Boy Floyd”. Victor Ortiz guaranteed that he will improved and better fighter when he faces off with Floyd Mayweather on their WBC welterweight championship fight on September 17. The world will see a different Victor this time around. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to change Victor completely. If Mayweather wants to go to war, Ortiz will help him get his wish. Victor Ortiz focus is to box Mayweather, but his ready for a war if Mayweather wants to go there. According to Ortiz trainer that Ortiz has learned so much under his guidance as the fighter is doing things he has not done before. These include jabbing, head movement and defense. Victor Ortiz looks and is far different than what people know him as from before.

Victor Ortiz wants to do against the 7-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Victor Ortiz will move his head and hands more, Ortiz wants Mayweather make miss and make him pay, but Ortiz is who he is and will always want to beat on somebody by going to war. Some say that this Mayweather vs Ortiz contest is a mismatch. But it’s like I don’t want to say mismatch because there’s a never a mismatch per se between two fighters. But in my personal view and the current level of each fighter I think Mayweather dominates.

Floyd Mayweather has fought the best fighters in the Welterweight and Super welterweight divisions and has been a 5 time world champion in this weight class. For many years, Mayweather has been fighting in this welterweight division and knows how to deal with fighters in this weight class. Though, the last fight that we saw Mayweather was on 2009 against Shane Mosley. After that he never back on the ring. I’ll give also Mayweather a big vote that he can knock out Ortiz. But as I said, Victor Ortiz will not go down without a fight. What do you think, would Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz bout is a very interesting fight not?

Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz on Sept. 17

The current undefeated boxer in the world in the welterweight division Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0 25 KO) will return to the ring after 16 months of inactivity and the fighter Mayweather will face will be the younger and the current WBC Welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2 22 KO’s). Now, I know some of you will doubt this Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz bout because you think this will be a mismatch. That is why a lot of questions that has been raised when the news broked out about the Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz, “Can Mayweather knock out Victor Ortiz?" Other question is "can Victor Ortiz at least wins a decision and will give an upset to Floyd Mayweather and give Mayweather his first ever defeat? There are boxing analysts who believed that Mayweather can knock Ortiz out. And I think I'm one of them.

My personal view regarding this Ortiz vs Mayweather fight, as what I can see Mayweather has the capability to knockout Ortiz not only once but I think twice. Now on VIctor Ortiz winning a decision? I think that will be the closest win can Ortiz will get. I don't think he can knockout Mayweather. If Mayweather can make Victor Ortiz a little too aggressive and walks him in a counter shot then he can knock Ortiz because this is the kind of power Mayweather usually has. Floyd Mayweather with his slick boxing skills, controlling his opponents every move as if he was a puppet master was really disappointing if you are his opponent.

Victor Ortiz is a great young fighter to watch whoever he matches up against win or lose he puts on a magnificent show a true champion, he takes his opponent to war and using his boxing skills paired with his natural aggression to do this. I really admire Ortiz courage to put his belt on the line just to prove something that Mayweather is just only a human being and can be defeated. Not only has Victor Ortiz got the tools he as youth on his side and Mayweather is now 34 years old and we still don't know the condition Mayweather is in because it's almost a year since he didn't fight.

It only shows that Victor Ortiz will not go down without a fight and if ever he will beat Floyd Mayweather and win their fight. As we all know that Victor Ortiz must fight beyond the level of Floyd Mayweather Jr. to win the Mayweather vs Ortiz contest. Now do you think this Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz still an exciting fight? You’ll decide but for me, I think it is. What I believe that this Ortiz vs Mayweather contest is good for all fight fans. I’m already excited about the Mayweather vs Ortiz bout which will happen on Sept. 17, 2011 on MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather vs Ortiz a Star Power

On that day Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz are going to defend for the WBC Welterweight Belt. WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) has already come up with a strategy to try and beat undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 Ko’s) in their fight on September 17th at a still to be determined venue. Ortiz, 24, says he’s going to take the fight to Mayweather and try to turn it into a war. This no doubt has been attempted before, albeit with weaker and smaller fighters than Ortiz. Juan Manuel Marquez and Ricky Hatton both attempted to take the fight to Mayweather and were easily beaten. The southpaw Ortiz is bigger and stronger than those guys, so perhaps he can take Mayweather’s hard pot shots and keep firing back to get inside on Mayweather.

In an interview at the The Ring, Ortiz said “I’ll take him the same way I thought Oscar De La Hoya beat him, the way Jose Luis Castillo beat him, that’s take the war to his ass.” This would be more or less the same tactic that Ortiz used on beating former WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto by a 12 round decision in his last fight in April.

Ortiz went right at Berto and forced him to fight a long and protracted inside ward where Ortiz was eventually able to beat Berto, but not before being knocked down twice. To Ortiz’s credit, he was able to get up off the deck on two occasions and put Berto down twice as well, and eventually wear him down. This is bound to be one of the biggest fights this year as the two boxers have made such a huge impact in the boxing world. Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz is one of the biggest boxing fights and events of the year. Mayweather vs Ortiz is an exciting, intriguing bout in the welterweight division. It features one of the sport's best fighters and biggest names in a long awaited return, and he's facing a powerful, young champion intent on keeping up his winning ways. On his comeback fight, Mayweather will be up against the Victor Ortiz. Ortiz is 10 years younger than Mayweather, with Ortiz aged only 24 years while Mayweather is 34.

But despite his young age, the Mexican-American is turning out to become a boxing great with a scorecard of 29 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws, with 22 wins via KOs. He is considered by several boxing news and websites as one of the top two welterweight boxers of the world. For my personal view regarding this fight, I guess it will still be Floyd Mayweather Jr.

He got a stone wall defense that its difficult for Ortiz to crack. The latter just can't get through that defense and he will probably receive some beating from the undefeated fighter. Aside from that people are waiting for Floyd to win this match so that he can prepare to fight Pacquiao on his next fight if in case he will not retire again and dock the match once more.

However, Victor Ortiz can still have the chance to win this match if in case he can keep up to exchange blows against Floyd up to the later rounds.
