As most of you know, Marc Jacobs enjoys working with contemporary artists in his creative work at Vuitton. I first learnt of Yayoi Kusama in the 2007 Prigent documentary where MJ met the Japanese artist and poet (photo above). I am excited to see that a collaboration will soon be released so here's a First LVook of what to expect. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

It's the closing weekend of the exhibit "Ancient Americas"at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Md so being huge fans of Mesoamerican artifacts, Jeff and I decided to schedule a trip up there. Louis Vuitton Store Opening: Taipei 101

On May 2, 2012 Louis Vuitton opened at the majestic Taipei 101 landmark in Taiwan. The second tallest building in the world, it consists of 101 floors that resembles a bamboo stalk towering over the city. To date, it is the largest fully 'green' building. Each of the 101 floors is dedicated to luxury; LV finding its home at the 4th and 5th levels. Boasting of a special travel room on the 5th floor, the first in Taipei, there is a compass set in travertine on the stone floor. It's really neat because it points towards the direction of Vuitton's ancestral home in Asnières, France. Special thanks to Chris for the photos. LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Cabas North South

What I did see and was able to play around with was the Cabas North-South. Crafted out of Nomade leather that is super fine and luxurious, this men's bag is a must have. The stitching detail is what I LVoe the most on this sleek tote plus the shoulder strap option. I am very happy that LV has decided to revive it's Nomade leather. It could be a challenge keeping it pristine but maybe the nicks and scratches should be charged to just wear and tear of good skin.

One thing that I wanted to see in NYC that I didn't was the Old Speedy in Croc. Part of the Les Extraordinaires Collection, this extremely limited and numbered piece is priced at around $30,000. I guess that's the reason why it wasn't just sitting on a shelf.

Weekend in New York

Well, it was that time of year when Jeff and I have our annual pilgrimage to New York City. It's always good to visit so I wanted to share with you some photos of our LVoely trip.

First stop was a late lunch at Hell's Kitchen. After which, we were supposed to go to our favourite museum in New York, the Frick Collection,but we were too late by the time lunch was over. Good thing that catty-corner to the museum was Ladurée.

The store was amazingly French!

By the way, the Celine boutique was just next to it.

There was a bit of a line to go in but it was well worth the wait. Strolling down further on Madison Avenue, of course we finally ended up at Louis Vuitton on 5th. The photos speak for themselves.

LVoe, LVoe, LVoe the parasol!

A nice dinner at a hole-in-the-wall Thai place had a perfect touch on their iced tea - the straw wrapper transformed into a miniature rose.

As we winded down for the day, a trip on the roof of our hotel provided a spectacular view.

Before bed, tasty treats à la française.

The following day, I wanted to see the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. Believe it or not, I have been to New York several times, but have not walk through the park ever. Around it, yes, but not through it. Bordering the park on 58th and 7th, I had to stop and stare at the Petrossian's magnificent façade.

As in the movies, the fountain had that unmistakable charm about it. No wonder that Hollywood has chosen it time and again for its magical scenes on film.

A pensive moment...

Since it was a Sunday, a weekend in New York would not be complete without hearing Mass at Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

Then off to lunch at Soho where another LV store awaits!

As you can see, I went home empty handed.

But was thrilled to have visited all of Marc Jacob's franchises: Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Little Marc Jacobs and BookMarc

Before, we headed for home on Monday, we decided to take a tour of the wonderful New York Public Library.

I highly recommend this walking tour into one of New York's treasured landmarks.

The high point of my trip was when I saw the actual stuffed animals that inspired A.A. Milne to pen the Winnie-the-Pooh stories.

Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs Book

Of course, I didn't leave the boutique empty handed. No...I didn't buy the Suship. I bought an infinitely cheaper but well worth it book to ad to my Vuitton Collection - The Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs companion book to the exhibit. Actually, this has been on hold for me for a couple of weeks now but I just haven't found the time to pick it up until today. And boy was I surprised because the cover/s were in itself a delight. First you have the outer packaging which has a dot drawing of both Vuitton and Jacobs. Then you open it to a cut out sleeve of the book's title. From there you could already see the gold foil peeping through. As you slide it out from its case, you are blinded by the gold hardcover. I scanned a few pages and I fell head over heels in LVoe with this particular photo of Marc which instantly made this my favourite of all Vuitton publications to date. LVoe it!!!

Ahhhh...the beauty of having a local Louis Vuitton boutique is that you can see the windows as it changes from season to season. This Spring, the display had a 'Hunger Games' theme to my eyes. A multitude of feathered arrows seem to target the bag within. The illusion is spectacular especially from a distance as the colours seem to pulsate before you.

I didn't have much a LVook-see because my SA was already ending her shift and I didn't want to linger. On the table, they had two Monogram Desire Lockits. The nylon jacquard didn't do much for me but the lining was impressive. It's a collector piece most definitely but not something that you can use everyday. Next to it was the Denim Beach tote which was fabulous due to the combination of the fabric and suede trimmings.

Encased in glass was the Monogram Denim Pochette Round and a Monogram Bouclettes (not shown) which was totally high up on the shelf. I really didn't pay attention to them because I had my eye on the...

....Suship. Crafted out of the most buttery, soft leather, it was too precious to even play around with. The silver locking mechanism was a nice touch and how the bag opens up. The lining is so luxurious. This bag is strictly a NO PENS or PENCILS bag. It was amazing and I did stick my head into it to take a whiff of that new leather smell. Simply LVoe, LVoe, LVoe!!!
