Sorry to hear you have ended the blog ,it feels like the end of an era and i will miss it very much.
It has not come as much of a shock as a couple of years ago as you have not been posting as much since the advent of egyptological.
However it is a shock nonetheless. My hope is that if something really significant is found you will be tempted to recommence blogging.

I would like to highlight that the coming period may be crucial for Egyptology as the Polish-Egyptian Cliff Mission at Deir el-Bahari is going to Egypt today to begin the decisive excavation season. If all goes according to plan, they will discover tomb of pharaoh Amenhotep I, later reused by king-priest Herihor and probably also by his son - king Neferkare Amenemnisu. The tomb is intact after the last burial.

They provide an age range from 25-40 which fits what we know. 3. Yes there is the newberry ring; but we have no additional information as to whether she did in fact marry Aye.

5. I can't find any comments by Belzoni on his discovery of the two mummies kv21a and b as to writen seals etc that might have given us some identifyable information.

Hi, Kate. Steve Cross is a very kind knowledgeable person. I enjoyed discussing flash flood data and theories with him. I have gone over Reeves GPR data many times and think that Hawass missed 2 important areas shown in the data. There is some indication from traces "C", "D", "E", and numbers 11 through 15 that a deep anomaly may exist starting about 10 feet from the south-west corner of the rest area. See Reeves: http://www.nicholasreeves.com/item.aspx?category=Events&id=160 . Additionally what he called "Feature 5" was not explored by Hawass. Hawass threw out Reeves' data when an underground cable was discovered in the area. That cable is clearly marked (but not labled) on Reeves' map. Photos from Hawass confirm that he found the marked cable run. Hopefully those present at Hawass' digs and sworn to secrecy will now come forward and tell what they saw.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) sends out a single short pulse one wavelength long into the ground. Echos are plotted in colors indicating return strength. Many improvements have been made allowing much better resolution, penetration and, sensitivity.
