Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker – who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year after an interview he did went viral – is back in the news.

Because he’s wanted for murder. From the Newark Star-Ledger:

Joseph Galfy Jr., the Clark attorney found dead in his home Monday afternoon, was killed by a 24-year-old itinerant and minor internet celebrity after a sexual tryst in the lawyer’s home sometime Sunday, Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow said today.

Galfy and Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, better known as “Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker” met Saturday night in New York’s Times Square. They would spend the better part of the next 24 hours together in Galfy’s Starlite Drive home, Romankow said, before their encounter would turn violent.

Galfy, 73, was found laying in his bed, beaten to death, dressed only his underwear and socks, Romankow said at a press conference this afternoon. McGillvary’s whereabouts are unknown. He is being sought on murder charges. He was last seen Tuesday leaving for the Philadelphia train station, authorities believe.

One day after the police found Joseph Galfy’s body, Kai wrote this on Facebook:

what would you do if you woke up with a groggy head, metallic taste in your mouth, in a strangers house… walked to the mirror and seen come dripping from the side of your face from your mouth, and started wretching, realizing that someone had drugged, raped, and blown their fuckin load in you? what would you do?

Well, I’d probably just, I don’t know, call the fucking police or at least call Mariska Hargitay or something.

On Monday, Barbara Walters announced on her show “The View” that she’ll be retiring from television in 2014. During the 83-year-old’s remarkable broadcast career, which began in 1976, she has interviewed numerous high profile figures. From political leaders to pop culture phenomenons.

After a video package that recapped her iconic career, as well as several standing ovations, Walters addressed the viewers.

“I have been on television continuously for over 50 years, but in the summer of 2014, a year from now, I plan to retire from appearing on television at all,” she said. “It has been an absolutely joyful, rewarding, challenging, fascinating and occasionally bumpy ride. I’m perfectly healthy, this is my decision, I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, and this is what I want to do.”

She said she may “come back” for special occasions, but that she was vacating the field for the next generation of journalists – especially, she said, for women.

“It’s their time now,” she said.

He’s never been considered the best soccer player in the world, but it’s safe to say that David Beckham has most certainly become the most recognizable player in the sport known as “football” in every part of the world except the U.S. and Canada. And now, following an illustrious 20-year career, David Beckham is retiring.

The 38-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder announced early Thursday that he would be hanging up his soccer cleats for good after this season ends. He said in an official statement:

“I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level.

“I want to thank all my team-mates, the great managers that I had the pleasure of learning from. I also want to thank the fans who have all supported me and given me the strength to succeed.

“If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy.

“I’m fortunate to have realized those dreams.”

Though he was never able to win the soccer equivalent of the Super Bowl, known as the World Cup, Beckham did win 10 league titles in his 20 seasons, which helped him cement his status in the game.

Beckham, who once played with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, is also credited for helping make the sport popular in the United States. He is described by FIFA President Sepp Blatter as “one of the most iconic figures in global football.”

Beckham’s last game will be on May 26th.

Following the news of her double mastectomy, Angelina Jolie is reportedly having her ovaries removed as well. On Tuesday, the actress released an op-ed piece for The New York Times detailing her decision to have the surgery. Now People is revealing that she also plans on undergoing and oophorectomy — ovary removal, due to her also having a 50% chance of contracting ovarian cancer.

Some doctors recommend patients undergo the surgery by age 40 or when a woman is done having kids, though it may trigger early menopause.

Angelina Jolie is 37 and has six children.

She says she plans to get the ovaries out ASAP, but it’s unclear what that means. For now, though, the star and her fiancé, Brad Pitt, are focused on family.

The two have been focused on maintaining a sense of routine for their kids, keeping up family traditions and holidays even as Jolie was undergoing treatment.

Pitt called her heroic in a recent statement.

In the weeks surrounding the double mastectomy surgeries, “life was normal” for the children, says a source, and they didn’t notice anything amiss.

Adds a family insider: “Her kids always come first to her.”

The term heroic is often used where brave or courageous is appropriate. But you know, in this case, who cares? This was a rough decision and a rough surgery and done largely to benefit her family. With her going public, she will probably benefit others. She is one tough woman and I mean that in the best possible way.

Teen Mom Farrah Abraham will do anything to stay in the spotlight, even if that means giving an exclusive interview to Nik Richie from The Dirty entertainment show.

Not content with already embarrassing the hell out of her mother (and her daughter too once she grows up and figures out what the hell is going on), Farrah is now doing media interviews to promote her “sex tape” with porn star James Deen.

It seems Farrah is sharing much more of her personal life, maybe more than “Teen Mom” fans care to know.

H&M is reportedly investigating the incident, according to The Daily Mail. The brand dropped Kate Moss after she was photographed allegedly snorting cocaine in 2005.

According to reports, Pete Doherty and Macaulay Culkin are now living as roommates in Paris.

A source tells The Sun that Macaulay and Pete met through a mutual musician friend named Adam Green and the three of them worked on a movie called The Wrong Ferrari. After making that movie, Macaulay and Pete got a place together. Macaulay wants to be in Paris, because he’s done with acting and wants to be an artist type. The source said:

“Macaulay and Pete may seem an odd couple but they’ve got loads of interests and life experiences in common.
“They bonded over their love of poetry and art. Macaulay can’t get enough of listening to Pete waxing lyrical about his painting and music. He’s always been a fan of extreme characters like Pete. Look at the way he defends his childhood friend Michael Jackson (Ed. note: How timely!). Pete also loves talking to Macaulay about acting, as he’s been trying to launch a movie career.”

Jesus Christ… what do you think an average day in the Culkin/Doherty home is like? I think it goes something like this: Wake up, cigarettes, cartoon network, Pete and Macaulay both spend a couple of hours trying to get their agents on the phone. Then more cigarettes. Then online poker. Then maybe they’ll use Pete’s old crack pipes to plant an herb garden on the kitchen windowsill.

Jeanne Cooper, who starred on The Young and the Restless for more than 40 years, died on May 8 at age 84.

She became ill due to an infection earlier this year while promoting the show’s 40th anniversary.

Jeanne’s son, L.A. Law actor Corbin Bernsen, took to Facebook to make the announcement.

“My mother passed away this morning just a short time ago, peaceful with my sister by her side, in her sleep,” Corbin writes. “I was going to visit this afternoon, thought I had time. Reminder to self — time is a precious thing.”

“I, too, am at peace, however,” he continues. “I said my goodbyes several times over during the last few weeks. I’ll go one last time now for a gentle kiss, a final farewell for this lifetime.”

Jeanne — who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — received ten Daytime Emmy nominations over the years for playing Katherine Chancellor on The Young and the Restless. Her tenure on the show spanned from 1973 to 2013.

She also earned two Primetime Emmy nominations for other TV roles.

Jeanne was married to TV producer Harry Bernsen, Jr. for 23 years before the two divorced, and they had three children, all of whom are actors.

Following the 2013 Met Gala Monday night, Rihanna tweeted a pic of Nicole Richie with the caption: “This bitch makes me throw up.”

But RiRi’s public dig wasn’t an insult at all. The pop star actually meant that Richie’s look was “sick” and even used the hashtag #bestdressed.

Despite how Rihanna may have meant it, anyone who saw Richie’s “Bride of Frankenstein” look would probably conclude that it’s pretty gag-worthy. She looks like a struggling actor who was forced to take a job at a haunted house scaring teenagers.

Rihanna must have known that the post would cause a stir, so it’s unclear why she did it. Perhaps she felt she needed even more attention.

It’s also surprising that the “Stay” singer tore herself away from her Twitter war with Chris Brown.

On Tuesday, Rihanna, who split from Brown a few weeks ago, tweeted:

Settling is not an option! Nothing less than 100% loyalty, honesty, and respect!! Love ain’t for kidz #butimsleeptho

To which Brown replied:

Sometime loving someone is too much! So loving from a distance will help everyone grow! Be blessed. Live ya life!

As Hollywood Life reported, the sultry Barbadian singer broke it off with Brown after she discovered that he had partied with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche in NYC.
