The trustees also have Dolby ProLogic IIz (and other DTS and Dolby) decoding, and automatic leveling an Advanced Sound Retriever that attempts to compensate for compressed audio files. They all have HDMI that 3D Blu-Ray and 3D Broadcast compatible, remote control, and all have a port for the optional AS-BT200 Bluetooth adapter as well.

The VSX-821 ($ 349) [website not updated yet - any links to similar, but earlier models] have an iPod digital audio connection (which all cost IOS devices), front USB / AV inputs, Sirius radio compatibility , and the included USB / composite video cable. This model can also play MP3, WMA and AAC music stored on memory cards via the USB connection. It has four HDMI inputs (one output), an adapter port for the optional Bluetooth adapter, two component video inputs (one output), four composite video inputs like on portable dvd player car mount, three digital inputs (one coaxial, two optical), and seven speaker terminals.

Beltronics V995 VectorThe VSX-921 ($ 449) adds to a list of feature 821-Anchor Bay 1080p video scaler, video conversion to HDMI and seven assignable speaker terminals. The flagship of the lineup is the Ethernet connection VSX-1021 ($ 549) – which adds many additional features like on Beltronics V995 Vector, including a drastic reduction in the cost of non-Apple device with AirPlay support.

It is also the most friendly of the IOS entire line-up, which DLNA compatibility and vTuner internet radio, and two free apps custom IOS. The first is iControlAV2 which AV receiver and Blu-ray disc player will control, extensive checks. The second is Air Jam, which is connected via the optional Bluetooth adapter to share music and create playlists of up to four devices. This model also includes an Ethernet port, Advanced Video Adjust Technology, zone 2 AV outputs, FLAC and WAV compatibility, all of the features of other models. Firmware updates can be delivered via a USB or Ethernet ports, and the device also can use the optional AS-WL300 Wireless LAN Converter. The model also features a full color GUI and system set-up CD-ROM with an interactive tutorial.

The apps required for the VSX-1021 with IOS 4.2 4 iPhone, iPhone 3G and 3G iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch (second generation), iPod nano (third generation) and iPod nano (fourth generation). The optional Bluetooth adapter costs $ 99, while an optional WiFi module available for the high-end model for about $ 150 (Wireless-N technology). The two entry-level models are now available (or soon to retail), while two higher-end models are due later this month and April (respectively).

If the price is anything to go by (the V995 is about $ 50 more expensive), then we get a few extras with this model. Let’s see if we can spot a real difference.

The Beltronics V995 Vector Radar Detector has a much better design than its cousin, with a polished silver case that is slightly more contrast. The user display is exactly the same, with 260 micro-LEDs which a variety of things to be displayed on the screen. This is particularly useful for the Safety Warning System, which is able to alert you to the exact risk or ambulance away.

The performance of Beltronics V995 Vector Radar Detector in our test was not too shabby. False alarm (the curse of traditional radar detector owners) are minimized with this device, with features such as automatic scanning. This seems to work well, and some targeted X-Band derivation were filtered on our test track.

As for range, the V995 with advance warning of key Ka and pop bands with almost one mile to spare, which is comparable to the performance of the V955.

Tire detection capability is exactly the same in the Beltronics V995 Vector Radar Detector as it is in the V955 and most of the other Beltronics radar detector products. Complete X, Ka, Ku, K and SWS are all programmed into the system, and they are all enabled when starting the device for the first time.

Individual tapes can be disabled if necessary – and this can be a useful feature when most of your driving in urban environments. X-band tends to a constant beeping alarms as shops and the like are detected in the city, so we recommend this one for the city!

Looking for LED displays is fun for about 20 minutes, but after a bit of a bore. Fortunately, the kind folk at Beltronics programmed in a number of voice alerts, so your machine can actually detect a band to be announced. If you’re like us, talking machines are impressive (and sometimes humorous) – so even if no other reason, the Beltronics V995 Vector Radar Detector definitely gets points for his “cool technology”.

The only change we can see from the Beltronics V995 Vector Radar Detector and the V955 has the look and layout of the device. This model is certainly more elegant, and not present as much of an eye spot on the windshield. As for performance, this model Beltronics scores another company earned 5 stars.

Apart from the clever name, I believe the Kandl looks much better than reading Amazon’s light. Plus a uniform designed to shed light on the screen of the Kindle. Another major advantage of the Kandl is not only compatible with the Kindle as well as alpine car audio, but with other eBook readers. The only downside I can think of is that the Kandl plump frame is not as well go with the slim Kindle.
