Video Game Ninja moved to Level Up News

Sorry for the delayed announcement! If you're wondering why this site hasn't been updated in awhile, here is the reason:

In late October/early November of 2009 we had launched a new video game website called Level Up News. Since then, all of the latest video game content has posted at Level Up News and we have recruited a very talented staff to help keep the site updated with the latest in video game news, information, reviews, and deals.

As of right now there are no plans to continue posting the latest in video game content on Video Game Ninja. I may use this site/space for other video game related content in the future, but for now, all resources are being focused towards Level Up News.

Don't worry though, you'll find all the same great content and much much more. We even launched the Level Up News Forums very recently, so check it out!

Video game releases for the week of 10/11/09

I think the picture above says it all, because that is what this week is all about. For me at least anyway! I still have my fingers crossed on being one of the lucky to win the Fortune Hunter Edition, but either way, my pre-order from Amazon will be arriving tomorrow!

So we all know that I'm totally stoked for Uncharted 2, but for those looking for something different, you won't be disappointed. Brutal Legend seems to have a pretty huge following, and Fallout 3: Collector's Edition is sure to be a huge hit. I'm actually excited for Magna Carta 2 as well. But that may have to wait till the holidays hit and I've put a good amount of time into Uncharted 2.

Oh, and don't forget the awesome buy 2 get 1 free deal Toys R Us is running this week - couldn't have come at a better time!

Sony gives away 30 copies of Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition

It's no secret that Tuesday, October 13, is an important day for many of us. Aside from being the usual day for new video game releases, this Tuesday is all about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for the PS3.

And to help promote the game a bit (as if it needed any promotion), Sony has announced a give away for the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Edition. To enter, all you have to do is log onto PSN, download the multiplayer demo for Uncharted 2 and join any open multiplayer match. Sony will be giving away 10 of these Fortune Hunter Edition a day, and the give away will end on Monday 11:49 P.M. US Pacific Time.

Included in the Fortune Hunter Edition is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves game, replica dagger with a display stand, an art book, an autographed collector's case, and a bunch of downloads.

Great give away and easy to enter. So go download the demo and I'll see you online! And in case you haven't done this yet, go pre-order Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. You still have time to save a bit of money!

This weeks list of new video games should offer something for every gamer, as some pretty hyped up games hit store shelves this week. Here we go:

A lot of gamers will be picking up their pre-orders of The Beatles: Rock Band, but I'm looking forward to Mini Ninjas! The toughest part, of course, is choosing which console to unleash my mini ninja power on.

And as a new owner of a PS3 slim, I'm highly considering Little Big Planet: Game of the Year Edition.

Xbox 360 gamers will also want to check out the Capcom Triple Hits Platinum Pack, as it includes 3 great games, one of which I just finished a week ago (Devil May Cry 4).

And for gamers looking to go portable, you have two new DSi color options. They may not be limited edition, but pink does give off a bit of masculinity and intimidation - both of which are very important in the gaming world.

Digital reader demo shows off Marvel Comics on the PSP

During last weeks GamesCom press conference, Sony announced that that the PSP will receive a digital reader near the end of year with "hundreds" of Marvel Comics planned for the new service. Over the weekend, Joystiq received a nice little demo from Marvel executive Ira Rubenstein showing off the new digital reader on the PSP.

The comics, which Marvel suggests should cost roughly $2 each (Sony has the final say on price), will become available in December.

Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition Bundle

The Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition bundle has been announced on the Assassin's Creed Twitter page and it looks to be an exclusive bundle to Gamestop. An Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 version have been listed at $79.99 with a release date of November 17, 2009. The Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition Bundle will include the following:

Assassin's Creed II game
8.5" tall statue of Ezio
An Artbook
Two exclusive in-game maps

I love limited and special edition bundles, especially when they include a figure. This might be a good incentive for me to finish up Assassin's Creed.

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines gets a PSP bundle

Sony has announced that an Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines Limited Edition PSP Entertainment Pack will be available in November. The PSP Entertainment Pack will retail for $199.99 and will include:

White PSP-3000 system
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines game
UMD Movie (TBA)
2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines takes place after the events of Assassin's Creed and will connect the first game with Assassin's Creed 2. So anyone who is planning on picking up Assassin's Creed 2 will definitely want to check out Bloodlines so they can get the full story and all the background information. I guess that means I have to actually play Assassin's Creed.

Carcassonne heading to the Nintendo DS

Carcassonne - the board game

VG247 brings us news that the the awesome board game known as Carcassonne will be heading to the Nitnendo DS sometime later this year. There is a version of this game available on Xbox Live Arcade and this game was addicting as anything. If you're into board games but can't find someone else to play with or just hate cleaning up the pieces then you need to check it out. I even went ahead and found the link for the Xbox Live Arcade version.

Carcassonne on the DS is spectacular news. Being able to play Carcassonne anytime, anywhere, is flat out amazing. I'm a little bit excited.

Available in Japan on August 1, will be the black Nintendo Wii, along with matching Wii Remote, Wii Nunchuck, Classic Controller, and Classic Controller Pro. Oh wait, the madness doesn't end there! Japan will also get a red Nintendo DSi on July 11th.

PSP Go gets a price and release date

Yesterday at E3 2009, Sony has released the following information for the new PSP Go:

* 50% smaller than the original PSP
* 40% lighter than the original PSP
* No UMD drive
* 16GB of internetal storage
* Will not replace the PSP 3000
* Available October 1, 2009
* Price: $249

Just in time for the 2009 Holiday shopping spree! Can't wait to see this in a bundle, cause we all love bundles.

Warhammer coming to the Xbox 360

Now this is definitely exciting news for both Warhammer fans and Xbox 360 gamers. THQ is bringing the Warhammer universe to the Xbox 360 with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. And as an Ultramarine player I'm totally stoked to see that they will be the playable chapter in this game.

You have Space Marines, Thunderhammers, Jump Packs, Heavy Bolters, Chainswords....Aghhh!! It's ok, I know you're excited too ^_^
