Episode 8. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, this episode is all about partnering up with people. For the first 43 minutes, the guys give personal anecdotes, advice and random thoughts on the process of collaborating with others on comic books. Following that is another instalment of "Why Comics Shouldn't Be Read Aloud" followed by Nick's review (46-minute mark) of the New York Comic Con. That's right, NICK went to NYCC....and now he's back. At the 57-minute mark, Rapid-Fire Reviews start, and take us to the end of the show. Oh, and there's a discussion on "how to survive a zombie apocalypse" thrown in there too. No audience e-mails this week because you folks didn't send us any. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say you're not holding up your end of this podcast "collaboration". See how I tied everything together there thematically? Genius.

Episode 7. Is it lonely in here? Or is it just...me. 3 of the guys couldn't make it out to this episode, but the remaining 3 (Chris, Nick and Vince) somehow managed to put on a great show without 'em. The guys start the show by shootin' the shit for a bit and then get things rolling with yet another fan-favourite installment of "Why Comics Shouldn't Be Read Aloud" (13th minute to the 17th minute). Following that, the guys discuss what they love and what they hate about making indy comics (17th minute to the 54th minute) and throw in a bunch of anecdotes and musings along the way. Rapid-Fire Reviews (56th minute to the 90th minute) and Audience E-mails (90th minute to the 100th minute) close out the show. Oh - and I almost forgot: We managed to score an EXCLUSIVE interview with Christian Bale! Look for that around the 54th minute. It's a good one, folks. Listen and weep.

Episode 6. In this episode, the V.A. boys debate to what extent the TV show "Heroes" sucks (5th minute to the 43rd minute), follow that up with a brief segment of "Why Comics Shouldn't Be Read Aloud" (43rd minute to the 46th minute) and then segue in to a discussion on Cartoony vs. Realism: which style works better, when should each style be used and how many times can a person say "Bone" in one sentence (46th minute to the 79th minute). A series of Rapid-Fire Reviews follow (79th minute to the 105th minute) and then the show caps off with a few audience e-mails (105th minute to the 116th minute). It's another long one, folks, so just sit back, clear your schedule and let our pubescent voices sink in to your heads for the next 2 hours. Enjoy!

Episode 4! The last episode of 2008! This episode features a number of riveting discussions by the most riveting riveters this side of rivetania: the boys from Vicious Ambitious. This time around, the V.A. guys discuss "What comic made you think about or change your life?"(opening 25 minutes), "Who and/or what are your influences in story-writing?" (30th minute to the 45th minute) and then finish off the show by answering an audience e-mail question: "What do you guys look like?" (75th minute to the 90th minute). Rapid-fire reviews fill in the 50th minute to the 75th minute and 2 segments of "Why Comics Shouldn't Be Read Aloud" fill in the rest of the show. As always, audience e-mails are always welcome - and especially audience e-mails about the show "Heroes" (do you like it? do you hate it?), because the V.A. guys will be discussing it next episode. Merry Christmas and Happy 2009 everybody - the next V.A. podcast will be appearing online in early January, and it's gonna be a doozy - it'll be the first-ever annual "Year-In-Review" episode extravaganza. Episode 3. Some said it couldn't be done. Most said it shouldn't. But we did it anyway; episode #3 of the Vicious Ambitious podcast is more than 2 hours long. The first 45 minutes of the podcast is discussion; the V.A. guys ask "Should all stories have an underlying message? Should comics address issues in an attempt to add more meaning and value to the medium?" and then follow that up by answering a question brought up last episode. At the 45-minute mark, Rapid-Fire Reviews begin. This episode, we review the films "Burn After Reading", "Synechdoche" and "Bolt", along with a truckload of comics: Marvel Boy, Umbrella Academy, the Wolverine: Old Man Logan series, the Copper webcomic, Unknown Soldier and many more. At the 100-minute mark, we answer 2 audience e-mail questions and then follow that up with a frantic rush to finish the podcast before hitting the 2-hour mark. It's fun and jelly for all involved! Episode 2. This episode starts off with a group review of the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, which then segues in to a group discussion of "Movies that you like but that nobody else likes"...which then somehow mutates in to "Movies that you masturbate furiously to, but that aren't porn". Following that, the V.A. guys have a brief debate on the merits of using celebrities as models for characters in comics and then, from there, the rest of the podcast is all reviews; the guys review Criminal by Ed Brubaker, Hellboy 2, the Udon Street Fighter II art book, the Watchmen movie trailer and more. Then it ends. And it is glorious.
