I bought a white West Elm Parson's table over the winter and it has been sans chairs since day one. Poor thing. I really want a chair that will make my modern table a little less, well, modern. And, I think I've found a solution to my space and style issues...

This last pic really took my obsession to a whole new level. Using it as my inspiration, I purchased these bad boys. I'm pretty siked because they are on sale and shipping is FREE which is basically unheard of when it comes to furniture.

Choosing and committing to a dining room chair has been a challenge for me but I'm really happy with my new guys.

After an EPIC vacation on Nantucket for Figawi, I am off to Maine for this weekend for a little R&R. Since the weather on ACK was a little wet, I'm looking forward to officially ringing in summer with some 90 degree weather.

You're welcome. I just thought I would get that out of the way first.

So I found Paris in Boston. Tatte is a coffee shop in Kendall Square and it's a little slice of heaven. The cappuccinos are delish, the menu is incredible, the pastries are authentic*, and the decor is exactly what I want in a coffee shop. Since I am not planning a trip to Paris until the Fall, this will have to do. And it will.

Btw, if we are friends... chances are I will bring you to Tatte in the near future. Get excited!

Welcome to Music Monday! Hopefully this will make the start of your week less painful.

Of Monsters of Men are amazing. If you haven't had the chance to see them live, please fix that right away. In the meantime, here is a picture from their Orpheum Show and some audio of them covering The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs "Skeletons". Highly enjoyable.

I can't stop watching/listening to this video. Their new album comes out on June 12th and I'm excited... like REALLY excited. (Just ask my Facebook friends.) I love Grace a lot... so much that I'm seeing them twice in three days this August. :)

J'aime french bistro

So I recently watched Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and I basically SWOONED for two hours. Not only did I love the movie, I LOVED that Paris was captured so beautifully...

(You're welcome for that.)
The movie got me thinking about how much I love the french bistro style... and especially french bistro chairs.

(i want to be here now. thanks.)

And for posterity's sake...

Bottomline: Paris is always a good idea.

Kilim is all over the blogosphere these days. (Ahem, Pinterest.)

It's so pretty with it's colors and patterns. Oh ... you have no idea what kilim is? No worries, I got your back. Kilim is a brightly dyed (most of the time) thin tapestry decorated with geometric shapes. They are not, I repeat not, the same thing as Persian rugs... BUT I am a HUGE fan of both. They are an amazing addition to any room.

Here are my FAVORITE pictures where kilim is killin 'em. (Yup, I just went there.)

I have a legit girl crush on Gwyneth Paltrow. She's a straight shooter and I enjoy that. I also dig that she carries herself with such grace, poise, and, of course, a sense of humor. When Krista Smith asked what may surprise people about her, she said "I am very into S&M...Just kidding. I think I'm kinda what I seem. I probably do have a dirtier sense of humor than most people would think." Personally, I love a good dirty joke. (Thatswhatshesaid, anyone?) Wait, hold the phone... grace, poise, sense of humor... I feel like I just described myself. Twinsies!

I'm pretty sure LL Bean is the happiest place on Earth. (Sorry, Disney World. You snooze, you lose.) Not only does LL Bean make the best boots and the coziest slippers, they also have the COOLEST totes. (Well, at least IMHO.)

Beside stripes, I'm not huge pattern person. I usually stick to basic color blocking and then use layers to add a bit of ~~flair~~ interest. (Have to admit I cringed a little using flair to describe my style.) BUT I've really been into this whole leopard craze.

Mister Bar Cart

Bar carts are ~~kinda~~ really awesome. Personally, I don't see bar carts ever going out of style. (If you ask why, please refer back to my first sentence...and then go sit in the corner and think about what you did.) I love that you can make a "bar cart" out pretty much anything... a table, a bookshelf, and of course an actual cart (for the drunk who likes to move about the cabin). And now that the average Joe/Jane is categorized as a binge drinker, we might as well show off our favorite past time, right? Right.
