The site might not be pretty, but man, are the prices right.  This purveyor of “disruptive clothes” adds vintage, new, and pre-owned pieces that are a true bargain.  You won’t find each item in a number of sizes and colors.  You’ll find one skirt that you simply can’t live without that happens to be two sizes too small for you, but the price is so good that you buy it, hoping the size marking is wrong, or that new diet you’re on starts working right away.  Then you discover sun-dried tomato Alfredo sauce and give the skirt to your best friend, who is way tinier than you, but also very preppy, and will never wear the skirt.  It’s a tragedy, folks.

Log on to ModCloth.com, and the next thing you know it’s been an hour and you’re late for yoga.  Literally.  A very cool company started by lovebirds Susan and Eric Koger, ModCloth brings fresh, modern, yet retro-inspired clothing to the masses.  Sounds like a whole lot of contradictions, doesn’t it.  Well.  Sorry.  ModCloth also has a vintage section of their website with honest-to-gosh old stuff, but good luck finding something that hasn’t already been sold.  One other cool thing they do is their “Be the Buyer” section, where they show you things that they’re thinking about carrying, and you vote on which ones you like.

Mode Merr

Mode Merr is sort of THE place to buy “Glamour Girl” clothing.  They are the sellers of “The Perfect Skirt,” a skirt that looks good so long as you’re thin in the thigh or have some pretty effective Spanx in action.  Joan Holloway, eat your heart out, because these outfits are sexy, curve-hugging, and totally fine.  An added plus, the models from Mode Merr have credit on the credit page, and they do very cool shows in NYC with out-of-stock clothing and music.  Coolest.

Some Like it Vintage

In 2002, Veronica Cizmar went through an absolutely hellish experience with a relationship with a total monster.  You can read about it in the Veronica’s Story section of the Some Like It Vintage website.  The website, her online consignment shop and vintage boutique, is absolutely delightful, like Cizmar is putting something beautiful in a world where she knows that horror does truly exist.  The prices are kind of high, but when you think about vintage clothing as antique (which it technically is) it doesn’t seem so strange to spend $145.00 on a 1930′s evening gown when many people spend lots more than that on war memorabilia or (looks down and shuffles feet) 1912 portable typewriters.

My Baby Jo

The website isn’t the prettiest one out there, but some of My Baby Jo’s clothes are definitely above par.  With shoes, accessories, and even men’s clothing and accessories My Baby Jo has a great deal of very cool inventory.  Another cool thing – they have a page with photos of their customers wearing their, well, wares.  So if you buy something from them they will post a picture of you on their website.  You’ll be famous!

Vintage Trends

It might not be the most exciting-looking website, but if you have the time and patience to search for what you want, you can find some really great stuff here.  It’s all real vintage – so it’s used, but they have everything from the 1930′s until now.  The prices are great for some things, not so great for others, but much like a real vintage clothing store that you visit in person, you have to comb through the online “racks” to find the really special things.

Bettie Page Clothing

I can’t vouch for the quality of these clothes, which I’ve never seen in person, but according to the message board the clothes are fit for consumption.  This is the website of an actual clothing line, so these clothes are new, made to look like old clothes.  The upside of that is that you don’t have to worry about anybody else’s cooties on your new stuff, and if it doesn’t fit you can take it or send it back and get a new size.  If you happen to be in Vegas, you can visit their retail store at The Shops at Miracle Mile.

Iced coffee This is yet another very popular summer drink with adults and teens. Some like whipped cream or flavors added to their iced coffee. Others just drink it with a little milk. To make iced coffee, it’s quite easy: take cold pre-brewed coffee and add milk and sugar if desired. Add ice and drink!

Milkshake Add milk, several scoops of ice cream, fruit and other toppings if desired (depending on flavor). Add to a blender and place on “crush.” Blend until smooth and serve frosty cold.

We’re happy to report that we are firmly in the first category.  Absolutely.  Except when it comes to Johnny Depp.  We’re not quite at category 2 on that one, but we’re pretty sure we’d at least be good friends.

The Pop Eye

I first discovered BeckEye a few years ago during American Idol season.  She’s hilarious, and she has really, really interesting taste in music.  Really interesting.  She posts a forgotten “classic” video every week, and she makes some bitingly funny remarks about some of the messier celebrities.  Love her.

Best Week Ever

This is a VH1 website that is the online component to the show called Best Week Ever.  I don’t watch the show.  I do, however, frequent this website.  It’s so well done, and so very funny.  I don’t even follow reality dating shows, but with a title like, “Vienna Girardi Emerges From Ugly Bachelor Breakup As The Silkwood Of Reality Dating Shows” I’m going to read that post anyway.  For sure.

Hot Momma Gossip

Hot Momma Gossip is a very straightforward site that is dedicated to celebrity gossip and news.  It’s just a good, solid site, and they try not to be too mean about people.  So, if you’re looking for deep snark, don’t go here, but if you’re looking for a place that you won’t get your sensibilities offended, stick around.  The site has some legs – they’ve been around since 2005 – so they know what they’re talking about and have most of their bugs worked out.  Most.

Go Fug Yourself

I know what you’re thinking.  “Fug” is, like, a dirty word, right?  Well, not according to Heather and Jessica, who tell us in the FAQs that “fug” is a contraction of “fantastically ugly.”  We’ll go with that.  Basically, this site is all about celebrity fashion – mainly the faux pas – and Heather and Jessica are HILARIOUS.  It’s possible, upon the first visit, to spend six or seven hours on this site, using the handy right sidebar to click on your favorite or least favorite celebrity’s names and seeing the posts Heather and Jessica have made about them.  Trust me.  It’s possible.

Celebitchy

This is a site that has many talented contributing writers.  Unfortunately, I am not one of them.  That’s OK, because the folks they have are fantasticish.  The posts are funny but still full of information, and the writers put thought into their posts.  That’s not to say that the other sites mentioned DON’T put thought into their posts – they do, but this site is self-described as “smart” so I thought I’d mention that they are.  So they’d like that, and ask me to do a guest post.  Just kidding.  Or am I?

So, Kathy Griffin isn’t the author of this site.  In fact, the name of the site used to be The D List, but then Kathy Griffin had that show, and Michael K didn’t want problems with the D List Diva, so there you go.  Some of the language is NSFW, or if you have those delicate sensibilities we talked about earlier.  If you don’t mind some cussing, check out this site because this guy is also HILARIOUS.  Even if he is a potty pen.  Potty typer.  Potty blogger.  Potty mouth.  Whatever.  He should call me and we could talk smack about The Jonas Brothers together.

Gawker

This site is big league – they have a different big sponsor every day (at least every day I looked at the site, which was three days in a row – and the coolest sponsor was Cheetos – it was the first day I looked at the site and I thought “Sweet!  This site is exclusively sponsored by Cheetos!  I bet all the writers get free Cheetos!” but then I looked at the site today and it was some kind of tequila and I thought, “Sweet!  Those writers must get free Cheetos AND free tequila!” and then I thought about writing to them to find out but I chickened out because if they DO get free Cheetos and tequila they sure aren’t going to tell me about it.  Anyway.  Their site is first rate, despite all the flashy advertising.  The writing is sharp and funny.  You would like it.

The Superficial Lainey Gossip

So I was going to write about The Superficial, which is a really great site, but I found Lainey and picked her instead.  I have no idea who she (he?) is since she felt it unnecessary to post an “about” section, but she gets linked to by every other site on this list, plus all the ones you’re going to tell me I should have included.  But before you criticize, check out her category list.  Priceless.

I would be remiss if I left out the self-proclaimed Queen of All Media.  Perez and his team are fabulous and funny, and I have nothing bad at all to say about them.  Except one thing.  I hate the little cheapo paint program thing they use to “alter” the photographs.  I realize it’s designed to visually show you what they think of the celebrity, but it looks dumb to me and I don’t like it.  Perez is better than that.  Gee.  That wasn’t funny at all.  That was, like, brutally honest and straightforward.  I’m sorry, Internet.  I’m sorry, Paris.  Back to the nonsense!

That’s the end of the list, folks.  Yes, I realize I left out PopEater, HollywoodTuna (boobs!), and a bunch of others, but this is called VERY BEST SITES for a reason, and what you have above is what I consider to be the very best sites for celebrity gossip.
