The "Real Housewives of New Jersey’s" Danielle Staub is expanding her empire ... yet again: She’s planning to launch a jewelry collection!

Staub, who already has a T-shirt collection called “Danielle’s Mafia,” exclusively reveals to TooFab that she’s in the midst of designing a cross-inspired line and she hopes to launch it in time for the holiday season.

“I want the crosses to be an insignia of just being close whether it’s a religious thing, or a relationship thing. It’s a nod to my song [with singer Lori Michaels, "Real Close"],” she says. “I already have the design of the cross. The cross to me is not gothic, but very sweet, big, bold and beautiful."

The collection, Staub tells TooFab, will span the accessories spectrum. “I want to do rings, and I want to necklaces, but I want to keep them on leather or black rope. I don’t like necklace chains around my neck, so I’m not going to put them in the collection. I also want to do cuffs, but I want them to be adjustable.” As for earrings, Staub says she’s passing, since “I think they’ll be too heavy.”

Staub she’s hoping to collaborate further on the line with Versani, a 20-year-old fine jewelry house based in lower Manhattan. “Versani’s crosses initially caught my eye, and when I spoke to Versani the designer sketched a design that was spot on.”

And Staub isn’t stopping at accessories: She also wants to launch a full clothing collection, consisting of skirts, pants and blazers. “I want to do ghetto meets glam,” Staub says of the collection’s design aesthetic. “Stuff you can wear that’s glamorous, where you can go to the Russian Team Room or the Plaza, but also casual, where it’s something you can wear while hanging out with your kids.”

But Staub says she’s waiting for the right partner: “I’m just waiting for the right person to say, ‘I get your vision, and I’m going to run with it,' whether it’s Richie Rich, who’s my friend, or a couture designer.”

The Landing

after the rain after the water subsided

after landfall when they stepped

from the ship leading each other

one by one stiff-legged and squinting

onto the barren reaches of Ararat

how the air hurt as they breathed it

their senses dulled by stench and

confinement when the ordeal was

over the passage passed when

the voices finally stopped and

there were no more commands

to follow when it was just himself

to answer for after they looked

around and saw everything gone

the place they’d left to save in ruins

washed clean even the last remnants

of trees like bare branches stripped

of their bark and blanched when

there was nothing but echoes and

stones and in the distance bodies

everywhere bodies in great piles

bloated and rotting across the valleys

below them this wasn’t what they

expected for their troubles what

he’d imagined month after month

Bocote wood is indigenous to Mexico, Central and South America. Its luster, body, eye-catching grains and the spectacular colors emanating from it, call to the gifted craftsman, motivating him/her to want to produce world-class jewelry from it And that’s one of the reasons famed jewelry designer and Versani founder, Ara chose to work with this material.

Very few craftsmen are skilled enough to take on the challenge the Bocote wood offers. Ara does. This gifted jeweler knows how to manipulate this material in such a way that it willingly releases it brilliance that captures the eye and heart of both the designer and consumer.

Unlike metals, Bocote wood is susceptible to the influences of water. However, Ara uses a unique drying process that makes Bocote wood water resistant.

When Ara first started working with Bocote wood, creating superior quality jewelry from it, he, along with his dedicated employees, wore the finished products – daily – for several months. Why? April's Birthstone: Diamond

"Diamond is symbolic of innocence, justice, faith and strenght. It is believed to make the wearer courageous and to make them victorious over their enemies. The gem frequently worn to ward off poison, yet it was believed to be deadly when swallowed. When set in in gold and worn on the left side, it si said to have the power to drive away nightmares and to tame wild beasts.

Of the many legends that surrounded diamonds, one of the most widespread was the belief that it would determine guilt or innocence. The test was simple:

If the accused was guilty, the adjudicatory diamond would grow dark. In the presence of innocenc, however, it would glow with increased brilliance.

The finest diamonds were believed capable of reproducing themselves. it was thought that these special stones, when moistened with morning dew and left in the dark, would multiply.

Other uses for Diamonds were to ensure strong bones, to stop lecherous behavior, and to protect both mother and baby during childbirth.

Diamond is said to be an effective talisman if the gem was given as a pledge of love or friendship."

With a very cool and sweet demeanor, Stephen visited Versani Soho. Our most favorite Anthony Faglione referred him and we are so grateful.

It was so much fun trying on different bracelets and leather necklaces. Stephen fell in love with Versani's wood collection and scored a multi-link wood bracelet and a silver and wood cross! He also loved the Key Design Oval link bracelet which took a bit more convincing. :)

A little background about the wood we use in our Jewelry

Versani and Bocote wood (Cordia spp.)

Spectacular background colors of dark brown to red with multicolored strips that vary from yellow to orange and green to dark brown. Somewhat hard to find material from Mexico and Central America. It has an oily or waxy appearance. Luster is variable with a fine to medium texture. Ara chose this wood because of its strenght, uniqueness and aptitude to work beautifully with precious metals.

Bocote wood is not a waterproof type of wood. The process of drying it makes it less reactive to water so showering or immersing it ususally has little effect on it. When Ara first started working with this material he wore the rings daily for several months as did most of the Versani staff and found that they held up amazingly well.

We' ve had very very few number of rings where in hindsight the wood was too thin and that cause the wood inlay to come undone. Versani strongly and fully stands behind each of its handcrafted pieces so what we can't fix we will replace.

So far knock on wood, we have had 99% of success in crafting edgy, unique, beautiful, strong wood jewelry.

Of course it is recomended to treat jewelry as such, whether you are man, woman or child to prolong its use and durability.

I got to help such a generous woman today! Her name is Nancy Murrell and she came in with a big smile into the Versani Soho store. I was taken by the beautiful long black dress she was wearing and I complimented her on it. She instantly fell in love with the newest of Ara's rings. A thin round Key Design ring

She was pretty sure she wanted the ring and desired to treat herself! Rightfully so! While she was deciding, her friend shared with me that Nancy had just donated a kidney to someone she did not even know prior to the surgery!

WOW! I was flabbergasted! Such Kindness and Selflessness in today's world where the chorus is often "What have you done for me lately?" just astounded me!

I wanted everyone to know about this amazing woman! Her generosity and love for the human life is inspirational! Thank you Nancy for being your own heroine and ours! We are honored that you chose us as your treat!

I simply love that Ara is making more and more jewelry with black diamonds! I think that subtle "Bling"on a man shows confidence and has a certain sex appeal!
Known as " The stone of Reconciliation", Black Diamonds are gaining in popularity and a lot of people do not know of its existence!

Yesterday Ara finished a new dog tag with a Skull and instead of the Red Garnet Stones we usually see in the eyes, he put in Black Diamonds. So little by little the Black Diamond Collection is gaining some terrain in Versani. You most likely will have to come to the Flagship Store in Soho to view them as so far he makes them one at a time.

How to clean your silver by yourself

Sterling Silver is an alloy of 92 1/2 percent silver and 7 1/2 percent copper. Its beauty increases with use, which causes a patina or soft sheen to form. Plated silver is silver that has been electroplated over another metal. Silver tarnishes when exposed to air. This occurs more quickly in damp and foggy weather, but is inevitable in any climate. Store in treated paper or cloth, or plastic film.

Methods of cleaning silver should be determined by the value placed on it, monetary or sentimental, and the design of the pattern. Silver with deeply "carved" patterns that are enhanced by an oxide or French gray finish should be hand polished with a high quality silver cream or polish.

Hand rubbing develops patina on silver which adds to its beauty. Ornamental silver pieces that have been lacquered may be washed in lukewarm water; hot water could remove the lacquer. Polishing silver while wearing rubber gloves promotes tarnish. Instead, choose plastic or cotton gloves.

Silver has enemies. Rubber severely affects silver. Rubber corrodes silver, and it can become so deeply etched that only a silversmith can repair the damage. Raised designs can be lost permanently. Avoid using storage cabinets or chests with rubber seals, rubber floor coverings, rubber bands, etc.
Other enemies of silver include table salt, olives, salad dressing, eggs, vinegar and fruit juices. Serve these foods in china or glass containers. Although flowers and fruit look lovely in silver containers, the acid produced as they decay can etch the containers and cause serious damage. When using silver containers, use plastic or glass liners.

Baking Soda: Apply a paste of baking soda and water. Rub, rinse, and polish dry with a soft cloth. To remove tarnish from silverware, sprinkle baking soda on a damp cloth and rub it on the silverware until tarnish is gone. Rinse and dry well.

Aluminum Foil, Baking Soda, and Salt: Place a sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom of a pan, add 2-3 inches of water, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, and bring to a boil. Add silver pieces, boil 2-3 minutes, making sure the water covers the silver pieces. Remove silver, rinse, dry, and buff with a soft cloth. This method cleans the design and crevices of silver pieces.

Toothpaste: To clean off tarnish, coat the silver with toothpaste, then run it under warm water, work it into a foam, and rinse it off. For stubborn stains or intricate grooves, use an old soft-bristled toothbrush.

Last Week my friend Wendi spotted an article in Vogue with a picture of Andrew Madoff walking past our Soho Flagship store and told me about it. Not that we do not get enough celebrity action in the store because we do and we love our celebs! The hunt for the Vogue Magazine began but to no avail. I just could not find it. Finally I decided to goggle it! when in doubt, JUST GOOGLE! ;-)
Thanks to the DealBreaker, I was able to score the coveted shot on their site and they are following this Madoff affair closely so I recommend you follow them as well. We do not want another one of these ever again! The best way: Keep yourself informed at all times.

The irony of this is that we always wanted to be featured in Vogue and had our shot at a couple of editorial but nothing big! And then here it is. Small yet huge!
