Queensland and the eastern states of Australia have been devastated by the worst floods in living memory.

Variety WA and Storyteller Media got together to produce this Flash Mob video with the Variety Youth Choir performing 'I Am Australia' at the Karrinyup Shopping Centre food hall.

Proceeds from the Google and YouTube ads to the flood disaster relief fund.

If you do not have a backing track, you can audition A Capella. We will still ask you to perform a song of your choice, however we may also ask you to sing to one of our backing tracks - for example, the national anthem.

If you are auditioning for dance - please prepare a short routine to music, again bring a CD backing track.

Please note, even if you are auditioning as a dancer, you will still need to audition for singing. While we appreciate not everyone wants to be a soloist, we need to know that you can sing in a group situation, as all dancers must also sing as part of the Choir.

The Choir rehearses every Sunday morning in Malaga from 11am-12 noon (dancing is usually held from 10am). The Choir performs at approximately 30 professional shows per year, so we need people that are able to make a commitment to attending the shows and rehearsals.

It does not cost anything to audition or join the choir, and we provide you with the uniform and all tuition should you be successful in getting a place.

No strangers to touring, the Choir will make a special road trip to
Augusta in February to perform for the local community as part of a
Variety WA fundraiser.

The trip is just one of several exciting plans in the works as part of
the tenth anniversary celebrations... watch this space!

The Choir is expanding as part of its 10th anniversary year and selected
places exist for members (singers and/or dancers) who are ready to join
one of Perth's busiest professional performance groups!
