Does your Ford Focus ignition have one or more of the following problems:

- Difficulty in turning the key in the ignition.
- Sticking ignition.
- Key is dirty after removing or turning.
- Unable to remove the key.
- Key locked in a position.
- Key will no longer turn the ignition.

Unfortunately, this is a common problem. The Ford Focus sidebar ignition cannot be repaired and must be replaced. The problem with faulty Ford Focus ignitions has resulted in a class action lawsuit on behalf of California residents who “either own or lease a Ford Focus, or who have paid to repair or replace an ignition lock in a Ford Focus.”

We replace your broken Ford Focus ignition with a quality replacement product from Strattec that is designed without the problem components. If you use the use other products they have the same design faults and the lock may fail again. Also, we key the lock to match your door locks so you don’t have to carry two keys for your car.

If your ignition is just starting to give you problems call us now to save money and headaches.

The cost for our mobile automotive locksmith to remove, rekey and replace the Ford Focus ignition is $225-$295 (+ tax).

The British Columbia government has introduced legislation that would empower Richmond, Vancouver and Whistler, for the months of February and March in 2010, to act swiftly to remove graffiti or signs that contravene their bylaws.

The act empowers authorities in Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler to enter homes and remove or cover up “unauthorized” signs during the Winter Games.

I will not open any house or apartment because a city bylaw officer or an Olympic official wants a sign removed. We have a CANADIAN CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS “ 8. Everyone has the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure.” We are not a police state and the Miscellaneous Statutes and Amendment Act will add to B.C.’s undeserved growing reputation as a police state.

In my opinion, locksmiths are professionals and should not tarnish our image by becoming involved in political legislation that do nothing to reduce the highest Break and Enters in Canada, if not North American, and our ongoing gang killings.

In conclusion, I will not pick open any home to help some bureaucrat have a harmless sign removed.

Vancouver and the Lower Mainland have some of the highest break-in rates of all major Canadian and American cities. Vancouver has nearly four times the break-in rate of New York City.

I just had a call this morning from a lady who had just returned home from vacation and her front door had been kicked in. The cheap deadbolt and door had been broken (I will add pictures later this week). Many of the break-ins I see the front door has been kicked in, the resulting damage is either everything looks perfect except the cheap deadbolt is intact but the end of the bolt is still in the door frame or the metal door (with wooden edges) has folded over. Sometimes the door jam is broken. In Vancouver and now parts of Richmond I am seeing deadbolts that have been opened by an ice pick. Occasionally, I see locks that have been bumped from bump keys. In the next few blogs I will add some pictures from break-ins and check out my web (www.mrprolock.com) for some ideas on how to prevent these types of break-ins.
