Vancouver won last night 3-0 to sweep the first two home games. We head to St. Louis for game 3 on sunday at 7 pm. Stealing one of the two away games would mean two chances for us to seal the deal at home again.

Canucks play tonight at 10:00 pm (eastern) in game 2. If we stay out of the box we shouldn't have any problems sweeping the first 2 home games.

After killing off a long 2 man penalty kill the canucks rallied to score twice in the second. The blues scored at the end of the second period but Vancouver was able to keep them scoreless through the third to take the first game at home. Game two is friday night at GM Place.

A second shutout in a row for Luongo clinches the northwest for Vancouver! We will now enjoy home ice advantage in the first round, and tonights games will determine our opponent. We could face columbus or anaheim.

A big loss for Calgary tonight. With a point for Vancouver or another Calgary loss in regulation Saturday night and we will win the division, and gain home ice advantage for the first round!

A big win for the boys last night gives us a 2 point advantage over the flames. Calgary plays in Edmonton today, a loss would give us a chance to seal the division tomorrow night!

Big game tonight as the Canucks play the Kings. A win tonight will give Vancouver the edge in the northwest and put the pressure on Calgary.

With a big win tonight the Canucks are again tied in points with Calgary, but are losing the tiebreak currently so still Calgary sits atop the Northwest division. Luongo was the first star, and Ohlund scored twice in the Canucks victory.

Tonight is MUST WIN for Vancouver, without it they have little chance to win the division and home ice for the first round. The Rangers and Panthers also will be looking for wins in their games tonight, with both teams having 89 points being tied for 8th and 9th spots in the west. The Rangers will have their work cut out for them however as they are playing Montreal who need to win tonight to add to their cushion of a 3 point lead.

This gives Calgary a 2 point lead over the Canucks. The worse news is even with a win against the Flames Tuesday night we will still trail them in the standings because of a lower win %. We have our work cut out for us in the home stretch!

Last Night....

An embarassing loss for the Nucks last night as they fell 4-1 to Colorado (last place in the west) to lose their third straight. The good news is we have already sealed a playoff berth, and play Calgary tomorrow night. If Calgary loses tonight to LA tomorrows game could very well decide our finishing position!

Los Angeles at Calgary

The main game of importance tonight of course is LA at Calgary, with a loss Calgary will again be tied in points with Vancouver for the division lead, although Calgary will remain in first due to win %.

Montreal will also try to gain room in their lead over the Rangers for 7th place in the west.

Buffalo has very little chance to make the playoffs so that game is almost an exhibition, although Buffalo will be looking for a win.
