There are dozens, if not hundreds of PLR sites out there. The majority are not that great, using PLR content and poorly written articles from other sites, reselling to thousands of clients. These are not worth working with and should be avoided at all costs. A warning sign to watch for is dozens of articles for extremely low prices. For example, if you see that there is an article pack of 50 articles for $2, it’s not going to be of worthwhile quality. Instead, look for sites that offer articles for $1-5 each. These will be of much higher quality and far more worth it.

Another thing to watch for is the number of PLR packs available. Many sites will sell to everyone. This means that there is going to be a lot of duplicate content out there. While you should certainly be rewriting any private label content that you get, you will also want to be sure that you have the ability to change it a minimal amount without worrying about whether or not others have the same or very similar content on their sites. That means you want a PLR pack that is only being sold to a limited number of people. Look for packs that are being sold to less than 100 people. Many sites will limit their sales to just 50, which is a good number.

The quality of the articles will also have a lot to do with  whether or not they are worth purchasing and for which price you want to pay. If you aren’t sure, you might want to check out their samples. Often PLR articles are written hastily by those with poor English to get the cheapest rate per article. This can mean some seriously poor quality, so look for sites that are using native English speakers and quality writers to handle their writing.

Finally, you are almost always better off skipping the membership sites with set content each month. Unless they are specifically in your niche, it’s not worth paying on a monthly basis and ending up with just a small number of article packs that you can actually use.

People read articles in order to get information that they need. If they enjoy your article and find it useful, they will probably click on your link. But if they think your article is useless, they will likely click on someone else’s link. So ensure your articles provide useful information to readers.

2.   Be Straight To The Point
Always keep the fact that you are writing for the online world in mind. Internet articles are short, simple and get to the point. Don’t bother with language the average person can’t understand. Just tell the readers of your article what they need to know in a manner that is easy for all to comprehend.

3.   Title It

6.   Post Your Own Work On Your Blog or Website
If you put your own articles on your site, as well as the directories, this will build trust and credibility.

7.   RSS Feeds Put  RSS Feeds on your articles, which will syndicate them online which provides more exposure for your business.

8.   Use Affiliates
If you have affiliates let them brand your articles with their affiliate ID’s. This means they will promote the articles for you.

9.   Facts
Make sure you get them straight. No one wants to read an article that doesn’t give you correct information. So research your articles before creating and submitting them.

10.  eBooks
Put together your best articles and group them in to an eBook. This builds credibility, as it shows how much knowledge you have to share.

Many people think becoming an affiliate marketer is the best way to make money online. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money quickly, but there is a downside to this also. Below are a few questions to think about? before you decide to be an affiliate exclusively:

1.What if you can’t find a good product to promote? Then your income doesn’t get very large. Or, if too many people are promoting the product, you might not be able to make as much money as you would like or maybe none at all.

2.What if the merchant stops selling the product for any reason? This does happen. You could be promoting a product which accounts for over half of your income and the merchant just quits. Then you have to start all over again and find another product to promote. You then need to rebuild your customer base in order to make up your lost income.

3.What if people get tired of hearing about the product? People might get tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts. This can be a problem not only with people getting tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts, but can also be an over saturation problem. This can cause a lot of money to be lost for the affiliate marketer. A lot of affiliates find not only are they promoting one product? but every other affiliate marketer and their brother is promoting the same thing!

These are just a few reasons why you would want to create your own product instead of or along with promoting someone else’s.

Another obvious reason to create your own product is you have complete control of how you want to promote and sell it. You can decide if you want to have an affiliate program or not. You can allow your affiliates to promote the product any way they see fit, or put restrictions on some marketing methods like email marketing in order to protect yourself and reputation.

Some merchants do that in order to keep themselves from getting in trouble with spamming. Keep in mind you are also building your own business based upon your brand.

Branding yourself and your business is important. People will recognize you when they see any product you are promoting. As you become known for creating quality products, people will want to buy, and affiliates will want to promote you because they know you create quality. It’s much smarter to focus on growing your own business and brand with a product you create.

Another benefit is you have complete control over the price of your product. Some people don’t price a product properly and then it doesn’t sell. If you are an affiliate marketer promoting someone else’s product, you wouldn’t make any money on the product if your customers thought the price wasn’t worth it.

But since you aren’t the merchant, you don’t have any control over the price. You may also find you are getting a lot of charge-backs, which is another way to lose money very quickly.

If you are a product creator, you may end up having a whole army of marketers selling for you. This is called leverage, and is an excellent way to make lots of money. You as the merchant are now on the other side of the affiliate marketing coin.

So, now that you know what viral is, let’s apply it to marketing.  Specifically Internet Marketing.  For any marketing to be considered viral, it must be something that is self-propagating.  It must be something that the marketer starts and places into action and it continues without further action by the marketer.  In other words the marketer is able to start it and then forget about it.  It grows and finds its way to more and more prospects without any further action by the marketer.  Viral marketing then, is any marketing plan or system that encourages or compels individuals to pass on a marketing message to others.

How does that happen?  The theory is that if you have a item of value, like an eBook and you allow others to reproduce it and distribute it, either free or for a small fee, people will do just that.  Pass it on that is.  Of course the key here is that it must be perceived to have value or it won’t get passed on.  Assuming there is perceived value it’s pretty easy to see what can happen in a short period of time.  Let’s say you wrote an eBook with value to a wide audience and allowed free distribution.  Let’s assume that you distributed only three copies yourself, but each person you gave it to gave it to another three people and everyone who received it did the same thing.  When 10 levels have been reached almost 30,000 have seen your eBook.  Remember, you only personally distributed three!  What would be the result if you distributed 1,000 yourself?  You can do the math, but I think you get the point.  Again, you need to have something that people will pass on and make it very easy for them to do so or it won’t go viral.

One of the great early examples of viral marketing was, and probably still is, Hotmail.  Hotmail’s method of gaining new subscribers was by including a brief advertisement for their mail service at the bottom of each user’s emails. This way, any user who signed up ended up passing the message on to all his email contacts.

There are several vehicles that can be used as viral marketing products.  Examples are: E-Books, E-mail, Newsletters, Blogs, Chat-Rooms, Video Clips and Flash Games. My personal preference happens to be eBooks.  I like eBooks for viral marketing because once you have spent the time developing them you are pretty much done.  If you can create an eBook that has real value to a wide base of potential readers you should have a successful viral marketing campaign.  Again, the secret here is IT MUST HAVE VALUE and it must cause the reader to WANT TO SEND IT TO OTHERS.  Miss either one of these and your viral marketing campaign will most likely fail.

Pick a vehicle from the above list, or create your own vehicle and get it rolling.  Use your imagination and be creative.  Do something a little different and you can be a success.
