Hey boys and girls!

It’s been a long time since I wrote down the last post for Urbanartcore. For years, I was one of the most active contributers for the global street art and graffiti movement – but that’s over now, it’s time to say goodbye.

Due to several changes in my personal life (some of you may know that I am currently writing my master’s thesis) and the fact that I went tired from all this exclusive urban art documentation and had not enough time for all the other projects in my mind, I had to stop working on Urbanartcore. I am sorry.

Nevertheless, my German readers can follow up my new project over at www.openeverything.eu, where I just started a new blog-project covering up OpenData, OpenAccess and OpenGovernment in Germany.

Those, who want urban art news are definitely able to find another great source for their daily input, I am pretty sure!

ETAM Crew Exhibition in Vienna

After releasing their Urban Art Guide Vienna and showing Usual Misdeeds by Vinz, Inoperable Gallery in Vienna is going to present the next big thing: Next week, famous ETAM Cru is going to open their Mind Trip exhibition…

The Polish duo will make their way to Vienna for their first show in Austria. We are excited to welcome them here and look forward to seeing what they have in store for us! Stay tuned for more info.

For the last weeks and month, ETAM Cru is steadily growing their fandom. With their fantastic murals in Russia and Poland, Sainer and Bezt could finally establish a certain point of presence in Europe’s urban art scene, for what reaon I’m really looking forward to get some impressions of the upcoming art show!

Nychos The Weird in London

One of my favorite urban art mags meets one of my favorite graffiti artists: Very Nearly Almost caught up with Austrian graffiti legend Nychos The Weird in London in late July 2012 with João Retorta and Luke Atkinson filming him doing his best… painting, painting, painting.

Nychos passed through London last month and even with loads of rain, overzealous council workers buffing a piece on a private wall (within hours of it being finished) and several days dealing with a mysterious illness, he managed to paint some amazing murals. (VNA)

Low Bros, Mural Competition, Staple City & a Full Length Skateboardmovie

During the last days and weeks, I unfortunately had a lot to do, for what reason I was not able to mention all those great things going on in the urban art world. Luckily there are plenty other nice blogs out there with even nicer features on street art and graffiti I’d like to share with you in another Urban Art Link-Tips session…

For the See No Evil festival in Bristol, Sat One painted a brilliant superhero mural entitled Mural Competition!
Israeli contemporary artist Klone just opened a solo-show in Berlin! Urban Spree Gallery shows Klone’s all new body of works…
Peter Root creates fabulous Ephemicropolis, made of stacks of staples! These stacks were then stood up and arranged over a period of 40 hours.
Low Bros and DXTR recently teamed up to paint that dope mural in Lithuania…
And also Aryz did it again and created this new mural in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Toronto-based visual artist Flavio Trevisan build a nice board game about gentrification: The Urban Renewal Board Game!
And again it’s Low Bros, who painted that beauty together with Nicolas Barrome and Dulk for Eurocultured festival in Manchester.
The MARVS skateboarding crew published their second full length movie a while ago. It’s a must to watch!

Urban Forms: Sainer Mural in Poland

ETAM Crew, who recently was part of the Like it. Art festival in Russia, is now in Poland! Sainer, one of the ETAM members, just painted another beauty in Lodz…

Filmed by one-media.pl, this video documents the entire Sainer mural painting process what’s great to see not just for all those being not familiar with mural art, but also for ever urban art enthusiast. Again, this mural is part of the fantastic Urban Forms project with its great aspiration:

In the end, within few years, a gallery of several dozen exhibits will be created. It will be possible to visit exhibits on foot within few hours. Considering the fact that location of the gallery is going to be a public space, we would like to make it attractive for each and every citizen of Lodz, not only for those directly connected to street art or with art in general. Urban Multimedia Art: The Solution Is Irrelevant

Curated by 44flavours and Clemens Behr the group installation The Solution Is Irrelevant will take place tonight at Berlin’s Epicentro Artspace, Karl-Marx-Allee 82-84!

Urban Multimedia Art

The Solution Is Irrelevant, is meant to evoke not only an approach to creativity and the act of creating, but also a life philosophy. For the duration of the vernissage, the Epicentro Artspace will be transformed into a multimedia, interdisciplinary laboratory, where performance and video art, design, music, spoken word, sound treatment, sculpture, painting, and installations will interact simultaneously without a screenplay or a preset agenda. On board for the experiment: the 44flavours art collective, installation artist Clemens Behr, film directors Pol Ponsarnau and Yves Kasten, musicians Robot Koch, Sneaky and Lars Kirchbach, and spoken word artist RQM. The entire “performance” will be documented on video and will be screened at Epicentro art daily; presented in the form of video installations alongside other finished artifacts.

Sounds like lots of fun! Opening is tonight, 7pm. Admission is free.
