Baby Valentine – Paizley 9 months.

What a precious sweetie pie. Paizley’s mama wanted to do photos to send out Valentine’s Day cards (in lieu of Christmas cards this year). We put together the CUTEST card- it was pretty easy, considering we had this adorable little one to work with. She was a SO good… especially considering we took these nakey shots in February. Only in Vegas, during a Winter like this is that even possible. So fun. Here are my favorites. <3

My adorable little angel of a cousin Stella- she’s just turned 2. It’s already been 2 years… wow.

Stella is such a fun baby! She led us on a fantastic tour of Old Town Sacramento, taking special care to make sure we played on every set of “steps!”. We were all exhausted by the end- in fact she crashed out on the car ride home. Stella’s such a good balance of adventurous, silly, sweet, girly and mischievous and I can’t get enough of her precious little face. It MELTS me! Here are my favorites from our session. (LOVE this first shot!)

What a gorgeous day for a family portrait session. It can’t REALLY be January- it felt like April. The Red Rock loop was sunny and there was just a tiny bit of a breeze. If the rest of the country isn’t jealous of the Vegas weather, they should be.

This family told me something that I always hope to hear from clients. “This is fun”. That’s AWESOME for me to hear… see I always have so much fun shooting the sessions, but I worry that it isn’t so fun for my clients. After all, portrait photography most likely isn’t their passion. When they said it was fun and that the time went by really fast, it brought me an ear to ear grin.

This sweet baby boy is 9 days fresh. He is just the perfect addition to round out their little family of 4. Mama says now that they have a boy and a girl, the family is perfectly balanced and they are done. I can see why, with one just barely past her first birthday, and a newborn- whew, that’s enough for anyone to feel “fully blessed”. Both of their babies are just angel-faces… you’ll see. We had to sneak a few shots of the big sister in, too.

With the year ending, I was reflecting over the sessions I was able to shoot and really having a good time reminiscing. I decided to have a little image contest fun and to make it a giveaway. The photos included have made my list of very favorites for one reason or another. They are not necessarily the clients’ favorites, nor are they necessarily the most technically sound images… they are there because there was something that drew me. It could be an expression, something about the lighting, or an emotion expressed. They are all chosen for different reasons.

I want to say thank you to all of my blog followers. Thank you for helping me grow this passion that I have for portrait photography.

Baby Quinn just turned 6 months! This age is a treat for me to photograph, as I don’t get to do it very often. Quinn is adorable with gorgeous blue eyes and precious little lips. Already ALMOST sitting up at 6 months. We had like a 3.5 second window of her sitting on her own… challenging to say the least but fun. Even though it was a little chilly for Quinn, she was such a good girl for our shoot – I was teasing her mommy and daddy that if they ever have another baby, not to expect one this easy-going.

Las Vegas Academy Class of 2011 | Senior Portraits Las Vegas

Maddie graduates from Las Vegas Academy this Spring. We had a hard time finding a good for a senior portrait session because Maddie is very involved in the theatre program at her school and rehearsals and performances seem to be a VERY big part of her life. In fact, Maddie says she would love to pursue a career in Musical Theatre after high school. Come to think of it… I need to ask her when her next performance is, because I think I’d like to see her in action!

Maddie was incredibly easy to photograph. SO photogenic. She has absolutely gorgeous eyes and long silky curls. Here are my picks for the favorites. : )

“Let’s meet over coffee”. Funny thing… Scott and I used to frequent a certain Starbucks near our home. It was pretty much a daily thing for a while. We would go and catch up and map out our to do list for the day together over a french press for two or Cafe Americanos. Our routine has changed a bit since those days, but during that time there was a family that we used to frequently admire in passing. They’re the Kisners. We met them over coffee, so to speak. They have three adorable, personality filled blond haired, blue eyed little angels. One day in casual conversation, I mentioned children’s photography (dying to get these girls in front of my lens!) and Angela said that she had a REALLY hard time getting all three girls to look at the camera at the same time. I was up for the challenge and our first photo shoot was booked.

I just adore these girls- and I love that they like me too. Last year we did a nature setting for their photos- this year we decided to go a different direction with the urban setting. I love what we got. Here are my favorites.

Baby Landon… what a sweet little guy- just 2 weeks old. I am blessed to have known the Bodine Family for a few years now. Drew is the worship leader of the Henderson campus of Central Christian Church, the amazing church that I am a part of. Angela and Jeffrey are married. In fact, they just got married a few months ago. They did a cute, sneaky little thing where they didn’t have a wedding… they didn’t really invite their friends. They just shared the moment together. And I really think they liked it best that way. However, they don’t have any photos from the day…. so some friends of Angela did something so nice as a wedding gift. They purchased a portrait session and package for Angela and Jeffrey so they could have some professional portraits to remember this time in their lives as newlyweds.

Angela and Jeffrey have a daughter. Well some would say it is a stretch to call their dog a daughter, but not Angela and Jeffrey. Lilly is their perfect little sweetie pie. You’ll be able to tell how much they love each other and how much they love Lilly. Enjoy.
