Off and on I have been trying to figure out the process of making money online and unfortunately for the most part it seemed to be scam after scam but I have found a few bright spots in the dirt. Making money online is important to me for a number of reasons but the main one being as someone who is considered to be permanently disabled by mental illness I need to find a way back into the work force and this seems to be the most logical step. Anyway to my loyal followers of Untreatable Online you will have noticed a number of non mental health related posts in this is all part of the process. Untreatable Online is a very high ranking page rank in Google's eyes so when I post something here it does not take long for the search engines to find it. I want to keep Untreatable Online going but until I am able to start making money online I am going to keep using UTO as a testing ground for my projects but once I get out of the hole financially Untreatable Online will return to be completely mental health related.

Alright the four programs that look most promising are:

1. Wealthy Affiliate University - Wealthy Affiliate University is a membership site that offers absolutely everything to get started online plus a ton of education material to get you over that first hump of making a career out of working from home. From accredited courses to a forum that is incredibly helpful and supportive to every piece of affiliate marketing that you can ask for it is easy to see why Wealthy Affiliate University is always at the top of membership sites and resources.

2. Global Virtual Opportunities - Global Virtual Opportunities is a brand new money making opportunity that is getting set to explode. They are offering everything from free hosting to all sorts of resources to get a person started. To be honest I was not too sure about GVO that is until I started to promote it and people were quickly signing up to the $1 fourteen day trial so it seems that all of the hoopla surrounding GVO is actually true.

3. Chris Farrell - Chris Farrell is a really nice guy who wants all of his members to succeed and he does so by giving away a ton of information and resources for free to all of his members. My new website http://terrys-new-website.com/ is giving away one of Chris E-Books Create Your First Website By 3:45pm This Afternoon for free. If you are like me and once you finish reading this great E-Book you will understand why I am such a fan of Chris.

4. Bum Marketing - Bum marketing is a system of creating a solid website by submitting a ton of articles to a number of directories and free websites. This is not the fastest method in the world but it does not cost a cent once you know what you are doing. I bought the Four Day Money Making Blueprint about a month ago and have used the techniques taught in the book to get some pretty high rankings in Google for a number of products such as Tinnitus and Kettlebell Workouts. To be honest what I need to figure out is how to pick the right market to really show the true potential of bum marketing.

Anyway so that is what I am doing now and I will update you in the near future on how this all will turnout. Take care

Kettlebell Workout Benefits

The Kettlebell workout has quickly risen to popularity from celebrities to mixed martial artists to the guy next door all claiming that they have finally found the perfect workout and do you know what? They are right. The Kettlebell workout is fast, effective and will kick your butt from here to Sunday. Through this article I will outline the benefits of a Kettlebell workout.

1. Even the most basic exercise used with a Kettlebell enables a high number of small muscles and connectors creating a more all around workout in the fastest amount of time. Take the Kettlebell swing which affects the arms, legs, back, shoulder and a ton of smaller muscles in the one simple motion. The Kettlebell forces all of your smaller muscles to come to life in order to perform both the exercise that you are doing while at the same time making sure that you are balance and stable. By working both your core muscles and stabilizer muscles you are going to benefit in all sorts of way and reach your ideal physique a lot more quickly.

2. Kettlebell workouts save a ton of time. A basic gym workout consists of going from machine to machine and hoping the line ups are not too long so that you can get out of there within a hour. With a Kettlebell workout you are combining strength training with cardio on a large number of muscles at one time so there is no use for ten different machines to hit your core muscle groups. Here is a recent comment made by celebrity fitness trainer Missy Beaver about her client Katherine Heigel workout schedule “With Katherine’s busy schedule, Kettlebell workouts are perfect because in 20-minute sessions you get a cardio, strength and flexibility workout that would take hours at the gym."

3. No bulky equipment required. If you are like me I hate working out at the gym as I seem to be focused on everything but my workout but the problem use to be all of the home gym equipment does not fit very well into my small apartment. When a friend first introduced me to Kettlebells the first thing to cross my mind, after the doubt went away, is how easy it would be to store this piece of exercise equipment and as long as I did not drop them could workout rather well in my living room.

The Kettlebell workout is able to get your body into great shape quickly, effectively and for all of the disbelievers if your gym does not have Kettlebells already they will very soon.

For more information about the Kettlebells workout visit http://www.squidoo.com/kettlebellworkoutsforfatloss

The Realities Of Working From Home

I spent a number of years working in Social Work but a sudden health problem made me look for a new way to earn a living so I entered the world of internet marketing and all that entails. Now this article is not about the latest craze or fad that is sweeping the web but about the realities of working from home and although from the surface it seems like the ideal situation there are a number of things that you need to consider before turning your living room into an office.

1. Dedication Level - I know that it is very easy to say that you will spend eight hours per day working on creating or promoting your product but you need to ask yourself if you will be able to do so. The internet is full of all sorts of information and entertainment which can quickly divert your attention from work to basically killing time. In the beginning I wrote out my complete schedule from the hours that I would work to exactly what I would do during specific time periods but what I failed to do is account for Facebook and Twitter time. Free games my butt do you have any idea what Bejeweled Blitz has cost me in terms of production. It is a constant battle to remain focused on the task at hand but if you do not do so you will find yourself filling out a Walmart application to pay the lighting bill.

2. Mental Health - So you have decided to turn your home into your office but the differences between the home office and an actual office is people. At a typical office job there are a number of people that you converse with on a daily basis but when you work from home people turn into phone calls and emails. Stare at a computer screen for a couple of weeks and than try to convince yourself that your not hearing things. It is essential that along with your Facebook and Twitter time that you give yourself time to get actual people contact. A quick coffee with a friend will save you a ton of money in shrink bills.

3. Physical Health - Working eight hours a day from your home computer will not give you the body of the next Mr or Miss Universe and more than likely you will resemble Homer Simpson. Problem seems to be that with your home office comes a built in kitchen that is accessible at anytime of the day. No need to walk to the park for lunch when the fridge and stove are right behind you. It would be a good idea to invest in some core muscle exercises or else instead of searching for the next hot product you will be looking for a chiropractor.

Working from home is an attractive idea that millions of people dream of but when you turn your dream into reality make sure that along with building your business make sure you take the time to perform daily maintenance on yourself. You don't need fancy tricks - just
provide good relevant content.

My answer ?

Nonsense.

I have a huge content site devoted solely to ClickBank,
the only one of its kind.

If you wanted to find the most relevant content for a
search on the keyword 'ClickBank' don't you think that
would be at the top ?

Well Google used to agree with you.

It was ranked number 2, with only ClickBank.com itself at
number one.

Today it is ranked ... wait for it ... number 426.

It is beaten out of sight by sites which have nothing to
do with ClickBank but happen to mention that keyword once.

I asked a search engine expert about this and he suggested
that it was due to keyword density, in other words too
many mentions of the word ClickBank.

Well that has to be the case - the site is after all a
'Complete Guide to ClickBank'

His advice - try replacing the word ClickBank occasionally
e.g. use 'CB'.

No way.

That was the last straw and became the inspiration for me
to develop a revolutionary approach to getting traffic.

It led to me being called 'The Guru who said goodbye to
Google' in the marketing forums.

And this new approach ?

It uses some of the fundamental pillars of Internet
marketing that you already know - techniques which will
never become obsolete.

But they are combined together in a new way and with a
viral twist that you won't have seen before.

It includes giving out free information in a certain way
and I show you how exactly in my book, The Ultimate
SuperTip.

And just to illustrate the principle: the book is free
and you can reproduce this article and change the URL to
point to your own rebranded version.

Read the amazing book which took the Internet by storm http://www.supertips3.com/ultimate/xtip.php?allparam=affid=4240

The Upside of Feeling Down - Article

Happiness has had a tough time of it lately. The backlash against the seemingly endless stream of books about the subject (Amazon returned 426,789 titles when I used that search term, including one that calls happiness "life's most important skill") had already set in last year. At the time, I pointed out that "among people with late-stage illnesses, those with the greatest sense of well-being were more likely to die in any given period of time than the mildly content were. Being 'up' all the time can cause you to play down very real threats," and channeled the arguments of scholars who lamented the medicalization of the normal human emotion of sadness.

These and other critiques of happiness and the happiness industry, however, came mostly from psychologists, philosophers, and sociologists who are concerned about the effect of a message that says modest levels of well-being aren't enough, and that we all practically have a duty to be really, really happy—and that what was once considered normal sadness is something to be smothered, even shunned. I was therefore interested to see a new scientific paper taking a more brain-based perspective.

Writing in the journal Psychological Review, postdoctoral fellow Paul Andrews of Virginia Commonwealth University and psychiatrist J. Anderson Thomson Jr. of the University of Virginia present research suggesting that depression is present in the species, and in individuals, for a purpose, and we're playing with fire if we try to eradicate it. In evolution-speak, depression is an "adaptation," they argue. That is, it evolved because it made individuals who experienced it fitter, under natural selection, than individuals who did not experience it. Andrews and Thomson—who is best known for research on the psychology of religious belief, and who has also studied whether antidepressants threaten love and fidelity—offer as evidence the presence of a molecule in the brain called the 5HT1A receptor. This serves as a docking port for the neurochemical serotonin, which the Prozac/Zoloft/Paxil class of antidepressants targets. Human brains are not the only ones with the 5HT1A receptor. Rats also have it.

Here's the really interesting part: the rat version is 99 percent identical to the human one. This suggests that in the evolution from the shared ancestor of rats and people (hold those creationism letters!), natural selection did not mess with the receptor much. That leave-well-enough-alone history tends to happen when the function of some trait is so important that tinkering with it evolutionarily would produce more harm than good. What kind of harm? Rodents that have a mutation causing them to lose this receptor exhibit fewer symptoms of depression when they suffer some stress, a 1998 paper reported. In other words, losing the receptor that promotes depression in response to stress is something evolution thought would be a very bad move. Ergo: depression is not something to be thrown out lightly.

Why not? Because, argue Andrews and Thomson, depression alters thinking and behavior in beneficial ways. For instance:

*People in the grip of depression tend to ruminate, to turn an issue over and over in the mind. If they're ruminating on why they can't get a date, that might seem bad—since it keeps the person depressed. But this way of thinking, note the scientists, is "often highly analytical." That can be useful, producing solutions to what tipped the person into depression in the first place, not to mention "Eureka!" moments such as discovering fire. Evidence: people who felt depressed before tackling challenging math problems tend to score higher than happier test-takers, Andrews and Thomson reported in a 2007 study.

*Depression tends to focus thinking. That 5HT1A receptor, it turns out, also supplies neurons with fuel, allowing them to fire without flagging. That includes neurons in the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex, which have to fire continuously to keep the mind from wandering. (It's an attention circuit.) Focused thinking, like analytical thinking, might help someone overcome depression.

*Depression tends to make sufferers seek isolation, and keeps them from deriving pleasure from sex, food, or life itself. Obviously this can be crippling (and even fatal) to the sufferer. But it may also be adaptive: these behaviors foster the kind of focused and deliberative thinking that might solve the problem that triggered the depression in the first place. Evidence: a 2006 study found that when people suffering from depression engage in expressive writing, which forces them to focus on their troubles, their depression tends to lift sooner than otherwise. A 2008 study reached the same conclusion.

Thomson, who has a private psychiatry practice in Charlottesville, Va., has described how his views on the mind have been shaped by evolutionary psychology, the discipline that (among other things) floats hypotheses about the evolutionary roots of illness. Evo psych changed the way he viewed life and practiced psychiatry, Thomson has said. He's putting theory into practice, going so far as to suggest that people suffering from depression might benefit from more rumination, not less. "Therapies should try to encourage depressive rumination rather than try to stop it, and they should focus on trying to help people solve the problems that trigger their bouts of depression," he and Thomson write in a popularized version of their paper.

The question of whether depression has adaptive value is obviously far from settled. One criticism: the argument that depression fosters rumination and analytical thought seems problematic, since many people with depression report that although they indeed ruminate on their problems, their thinking is far from clear, focused, and analytical, and thus provides little insight into—let alone a remedy for—their illness. Nevertheless, as philosophers and sociologists harrumph about the pernicious effect of the happiness industry, it's useful to throw some neuroscience into the mix.

Original Article Link

Four Day Money Making Blueprint A Bum Marketing Review

Bum Marketing is basically a system of marketing so easy that a bum grabbed off the street can do it and succeed (I did not come up with this concept so don't point your fingers at me. The goal of Bum Marketing is to create a ton of buzz through a series of articles, back links and anything else that you get your hands on without spending a cent. There are a number of ways this can be achieved which I will illustrate through out this article.

Long Keywords - Keywords are essential to your business and the use of them properly will make all of the difference in the world in terms of the search engines. The problem with keywords is that your basic ones have been used to death to the point that not only very expensive there is also way too much competition for Bum Marketing to be truly effective. So what we want are known as long tail keywords. An example would be Tinnitus as a core keyword which there is a ton of traffic but "Stop Your Ears From Ringing" is a great alternative which has a ton less competition and it is much easier to quickly rank in the search engines. A great real example is I started my Tinnitus campaign last Thursday or Friday and now if you search for "Stop Your Ears From Ringing" is all over the place on the first few pages.

Squidoo - I love Squidoo and they make it very simple to create a very effective webpage in under half an hour. Through the Squidoo lens you are able to (A) Have an immediate site that Google notices quickly (B) Plenty of room to use your long keywords (C) Promote what ever affiliate that you want (D) Have a top end domain that will be accepted by pretty much all article directories (most article directories are not happy when you try to link directly to an affiliate page. My Squidoo page showed up on the second page of Google for the long keywords in the first 48 hours currently it is 13 out of 62,500 which is not too shabby.

Articles - Articles are the fuel that is going to run your Bum Marketing engine and if it does not have enough fuel you are going to crash hard. The difficult part is not really writing the articles but trying to come up with enough topics about the same category without repeating the same thing over and over again. The number of articles that you should write regarding the one topic that you are trying to promote does not have a number for the more you have the better that your campaign is going to do. The Four Day Money Making Blueprint people talk about dozens of articles for each topic and trust me they know what they are doing. There is a certain way in which you need to write an article or else the top end article directories are not going to accept your submission.

In the end Bum Marketing is a very effective tool if it is used properly and it makes it possible to get a good campaign going without breaking the piggy bank. The Four Day Money Making Blueprint goes step by step through the entire process with hours upon hours of video that I found extremely helpful and still use to this day. With the price tag being under thirty bucks it is an investment that will save you countless hours of trying to figure out the right way and immediately put you onto the field in terms of Bum Marketing.

For more information check out and Introduction To Bum Marketing and Four Day Money Making Blueprint

How I Make Money At Home

Mortifying childhood memories come easily to Candice Broom, a 29-year-old elementary school teacher from Birmingham, Ala.

There was the mean girl in middle school who called her Michael Bolton because of her frizzy hair. The older girl at camp who taunted the shy fifth grader over her not-yet-developed chest. And then there was the throw-up incident.

At age 12, Broom bowed out of gym class due to an upset stomach. Unfortunately, one of her classmates decided she was faking it and lobbed a basketball at her head.

“Immediately, vomit propelled onto the gym floor,” says Broom. “I clamped my hand over my mouth and began to sprint, hoping to find sanctuary before the next round.”

But it was not meant to be. Broom tossed her cookies hither and yon, capturing the attention – and revulsion — of her classmates and earning an “evil-eye” from the school’s janitor.

Not surprisingly, the incident also earned a permanent spot in her brain's private hall of shame. Broom says she thinks of the throw-up incident anytime anyone talks about getting sick or even when she substitute teaches at the local middle school.

Locking in a memory
While most of us have a few humiliating memories tucked away in our heads, we seldom think about why they tend to stick around so long. But a researcher at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center offer insights into why the brain gloms on to certain memories, particularly ones stemming from a single incident.

“We know that in extremely happy or tragic situations, norepinephrine is released in the brain,” says Dr. Ashok Hegde, associate professor of neurobiology and anatomy. “If embarrassment is felt deeply, that also releases the chemical. That’s why we remember embarrassing moments, why those memories stick for a very long time. Norepinephrine somehow seems to open the gate for very strong memories.”

In a study recently published in the journal Neuroscience, Hegde and his colleagues looked at how norepinephrine helped female mice remember the scent of their male partners after being exposed to it only once. Their research pinpointed how the neurotransmitter works with other chemicals to create the strong mating memory.

Hegde hopes his research into how the brain stores memory will eventually help scientists figure out how to block disturbing memories, such as those suffered by people with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“We’re not talking about wiping your brain or anything like that and we’re probably years away from any kind of treatment,” he says. “But if we can understand the process of how this happens, we can hopefully manipulate the process and selectively block things.”

Of course, not all bad memories are damaging or even undesirable.

“Some bad memories are good,” says Hegde. “If you burn your hand, you know not to touch the stove again when it’s hot. But that same mechanism can somehow become maladaptive. It sort of gets hijacked and becomes a bad thing, like with PTSD. It hurts the person’s life, it takes over their personality.”

Why can’t I just forget?
Humiliating memories may not cause as much emotional pain as the trauma of war or injury or abuse, but they do tend to get lodged in the brain and fester in a similar manner.

“A lot of times when people have a traumatic event, they go over it again and again,” says Angela Londoño-McConnell, a psychologist from Athens, Ga. “They’re trying to answer the question ‘why?’ — trying to figure out if they could have prevented it. In many ways, we go back over events that are difficult because we’re trying to say, ‘This didn’t feel good and I’m trying to control for whatever variables were there so it won’t happen again.’”

In the case of, say, accidentally throwing up in front of your elementary school classmates, a person might examine what they had for lunch that day or what they were wearing or even where they were standing.

“It’s our need to control,” says Londoño-McConnell. “A person might have thrown up simply because they were getting sick. It just happened. But it’s very difficult to tell the brain, ‘It just happened.’ So we go over it, trying to figure it out, trying to make sure we won’t be embarrassed again. And we end up never eating fish again because we remember that we threw up after we had fish.”

Mimi Carter, a 43-year-old publicist from Alexandria, Va., says she still cringes whenever she thinks about an incident in her early 20s when she approached teen heartthrob Judd Nelson at a famous Washington, D.C., restaurant.

“I went over and invited him to a party in this horrible fake British accent,” she says. “It was like something out of a B-movie. He just looked at me and slowly dropped his head. Then his agent says mockingly, ‘What a lovely accent you have. Where did you grow up?’”

Carter says she was a bit red-faced at the time, but is completely mortified at the memory now.

McConnell says replaying incidents from their past can often make the event seem larger. But there is a way to stop all the second-guessing and self-flagellation.

“The first thing is awareness, to realize that you’re beating yourself up over something that happened a long time ago,” she says. “The second is to come up with a different script. Instead of thinking negative thoughts, say something positive to yourself. Tell yourself that you did the best that you could with what you had. Forgive yourself and make a choice to think about it differently.”

Can I get a do-over?
Robin Hemley, director of the nonfiction writing program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, actually went back to “re-do” 10 childhood humiliations that had stuck in his craw over the years — reappearing in a school play in an effort to exorcise his memory of a flubbed line in a first-grade, finally screwing up the courage to ask his high school crush to the prom.

“We turn over these memories, we worry them, and they become larger than they should be,” says Hemley, who documented his adventure in “Do-Over! In Which a 48-Year-Old Father of Three Returns to Kindergarten, Summer Camp, the Prom, and Other Embarrassments.” “But sometimes, the memory of an event is actually worse than the way other people remembered it. That’s what I found ultimately pretty healing.”

Los Angeles psychotherapist and hypnotherapist Dr. Nancy Irwin says “do-overs” are possible, although they can come with a bit of a risk, such as bombing out as a public speaker even worse than you did in that seventh-grade pep talk.

“You can’t really erase the memory, but you certainly can change your association with it,” she says. “But you want to be smart going into it. You want to focus on the outcome you want, but be prepared if that doesn’t go well.”

Hemley says he realized going in that he might be courting further humiliation, but that the experience was still worth the risk.

“I think going over the things that you think of as failures and reevaluating them has to be healthy,” he says. “Now instead of lingering in my head, they’re just stories.”

Of course, do-overs may not work for everyone.

“Some memories you can’t do anything about,” says a philosophical Candice Broom. “Like that girl at camp with the huge boobs who looked me up and down. You can’t really do-over that.
Stop Your Ears From Ringing And Cure Tinnitus

The good news is that there is a cure for Tinnitus and you can stop your ears from ringing but the bad news is there is no such thing as a cure all when it comes to Tinnitus. Basically the treatment for this hearing problem can be from a wide range of problems so to figure out the Tinnitus cure you need to figure out how it started in the first place. Throughout this article I will outline a number of causes of Tinnitus and what can be done for them.

1. Ear Infections Can Cause Tinnitus - The first thing you should do in all cases related to ringing in your ears is to seek out a medical professional who will be able to run a bunch of simple tests to see if there is a scientific reason behind the Tinnitus. A lot of the time the ability to stop the ringing in your ears can be as simple as taking an antibiotic for a short period of time and that will hopefully solve your ear ringing problem. It should be noted that all antibiotics have to be taken for the entire time that they are prescribed for as if you stop taking the medication to soon the infection can roar back to life and your back at stage one.

2. Loud Noises Can Cause Tinnitus - There is a good reason why your mom and dad were always harping at you to turn your music down as sustained loud noise can cause permanent damage to your hearing. The strong vibration from the music or loud machinery can damage the microscopic nerves in your ears which in turn leads to Tinnitus aka that annoying ringing in your ears. If the Tinnitus was caused from a loud concert your ears should recover and you will be able to stop the ringing in your ears but if the damage was caused from a long time loud noise than you may need to look at surgery or another highly painful medical procedure.

3. Meniere's disease - Is a rare disorder that causes the person trouble with balance, vertigo and Tinnitus. Meniere's Disease is caused by an abnormal pressure increase in your ear which causes an increase of fluid buildup. Depending on the stage that Meniere's disease is discovered will dictate on how effective the treatment is going to be. For some people a simple solution is to greatly reduce the sodium that is in their diet which goes a long way. Unfortunately Meniere's disease if not treated can lead to the permanent loss of hearing in one or both ears. Again another great reason to start your quest to stop your ears from ringing at the doctors office.

To learn more about how to stop your ears from ringing head over to http://www.squidoo.com/stopyourearsfromringing

H1N1 Vaccine Dangers Video

Some even say it is part of a larger conspiracy theory.

In the Middle East, "a wave of panic" spread quickly in recent weeks after the rumor that "H1N1 vaccines destroy the immune system and reduce fertility rates by 80 percent."

Another prominent rumor is that the swine flu vaccine could even lead to death, partly inspired by one such claim in August.

CBS News decided to address the hot topic directly through an investigation on the dangers of the H1N1 vaccine.

Watch CBS News Videos Online

Read more at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/29/h1n1-vaccine-dangers-fact_n_338735.html

Make Money From Home On A Shoe String Budget

Everyone has seen the ads promising thousands of dollars for filling out surveys or by submitting links to Google you will be able to earn money from home for huge profits and nearly all of them find out quickly this is far from the truth. Yes it is possible to earn an income from home by the above methods but we are talking pennies and not dollars. Through this article I will show you the real way to make money from home.

There are a number of options when it comes to selling for making a decent living online and for a long time it could be summed up in one single word eBay. EBay has created a very handsome profit for many a people but most do not have the start up costs to create an impact and be able to pull in a lot of money from this particular auction site. The good news is the most commonly sold item on the internet is a digital information package and more times than not they are coming from Clickbank. Clickbank offers a ton of products on a encyclopedia of different topics and the best part is they do not cost you a cent to promote. A very quick breakdown is the person purchases the product and Clickbank gives you a commission in the 50 to 75 percent range. Sell a good number of digital products and your make money from home adventure can quickly turn into your real job.

The problem with the advancement of the internet is that simply trying to cold sell any type of product has become more and more difficult as buyers have become ad blind so the new proven method is the creation of a list which you will eventually use to sell your product. A list is essential a list of emails of people who are interested in the same field. A list is a highly desirable item but it needs to be handled carefully or it will disappear as fast as it appears. The emails of your list are actual people who need the time to come and trust you before they will even consider purchasing a product from you.

The creation of a list, the building of a relationship with people on your list and by supplying the people on your list with products that they are interested is the only real method of making money from home that will continue to pay in the long run.

Make Money From Home with this free e-book at http://www.squidoo.com/makemoneyfromhome247

Stop Your Ears From Ringing By Learning The Causes

Ringing in your ears is known as Tinnitus by all the people wearing white coats and needless to say it is annoying and can get to the point where it is severely affecting your life. The first step that you should be taking is calling your own white coat doctor for a full medical workup to see if they can determine what is causing the ringing in your ears.

The most common reasons for Tinnitus or ringing in your ears is the following

1. Infections in your ear. A little infection can lead to massive problems so make sure that you visit your doctor to rule out infection

2. A wax buildup that is causing your hearing to get distorted ie. ringing. There are a number of products sold over the counter regarding the removal of built up wax but tread carefully.

3. Loud noises over a good time period aka Why your mother told you to turn your music down

4. Certain mental illnesses can lead to Tinnitus due to stress

5. Certain medications used to fix other health problems can lead to your ears ringing to their own tune

6. Certain ear diseases such as Meniere's disease. Meniere's disease affects both hearing and balance which can lead to the total loss of hearing in your ear due to a high air pressure in the ear

7. Getting older. Yep add another item to the list of things that suck as we get older

8. Loss of hearing. So you are no longer able to hear the conversations around you but the Tinnitus is not going away anytime soon.

9. Head injuries and neck injuries. Your ears are pretty sensitive and it does not take too much trauma to send them into the land of the constant ringing.

10. Brain abnormalities. Pretty self explanatory for the most part but what doctors are looking for is sudden appearances of an aneurysm which is a problem all on its own with or without Tinnitus.

It is widely believed that Tinnitus is the microscopic damage to the nerve endings in your middle ear caused by the above list and then some. The good news is this can be cured and you will not have to spend the remainder of your life with ringing ears.

For more information on How To Stop Your Ears From Ringing see my web page at http://www.squidoo.com/stopyourearsfromringing

Get More Twitter Followers Now! 3 Essential Tips

Twitter is the greatest thing since slice bread and the number one question that you hear is "How do I get more Twitter followers now!". The following tips will help you do just that with techniques that have worked for me.

1. Comment on a ton of blogs especially the big ones - It is really simple instead of using an actual website for your address stick in your Twitter profile page and if your comment is somewhat reasonable chances are the viewers of that page will follow your link to your Twitter profile page. Any idea how many people turn to certain blogs and news sites each day? A hell of a lot. Do not spam though as no one will follow you

2. Take part in discussions of big time Twitters - Ashton Kutcher has millions of followers so when he is having a discussion about anything make sure that you are taking part. It is not likely that Ashton will follow you back but a number of his followers might.

3. Post about what is popular at that moment. Twitter tells you what the top ten topics people are talking about and when someone is searching for "Twitter is responsible for shorter essays" they will see your name and with a quick look at your profile page they can quickly see if your someone they want to follow.

Check out my brand new squeaky clean Squidoo lens "Get More Twitter Followers Now" which offers more advice along with some management tips.

What Not To Do With The Mentally Unwell

1. Baby us - I understand that I am sick and you are trying to help but by treating me like an infant reinforces my own thoughts that I am basically useless

2. Speak louder then normal - I have severe depression, post traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and generalized anxiety disorder none of which affect my hearing or will get your advice/suggestion/support through quicker

3. Speak to me slower then normal - Again I have multiple of disorders that at time distorts my thinking or perception but none of which affected my intelligence level. Treat me like an idiot and I will make you look stupid.

4. Treat me like I am going to break - A wrong comment or a slight slip is not going to send me running for the deep end. Trust me the garbage I tell myself is a hundred times worse then anything you can say.

5. Use cliches - Telling me to pull up my boots and charge forward or to just focus on the positive reinforces the idea that I need to surround myself with smarter people who understand the difference between a case of the blues and severe depression. If it was that easy do you really think I would still be in the same position.

6. Forget who you are talking too - The person that you remember from five years ago is the same one standing in front of you. When the diagnosis was dropped on me with borderline personality disorder the only thing that changed is now I am fortunate enough to carry a suitcase full of stigma with me. Hate to break it to you but I have always been borderline and the only difference is the way you now look at me.

7. Leave me alone - When a person enters the dark world of depression the first thing they do is isolate themselves to simplify their own world. By giving me space to figure out things on my own reinforces the negative thoughts in my head saying I am alone fighting a battle that I am positive that I will lose. A simple phone call reminds me that there are reasons to keep fighting and that when I need it someone is there.

8. Focus on the disorders - The best part of dealing with other people means I can allow my attention to go elsewhere for a while and not the battle in my head. The story of your child's trip to the library is as helpful to my recovery as any med.

9. Ignore the warning signs - If I am doing something that appears to be negative and on a path that leads to nothing good then be my friend and speak up. I spend so much time in a bad head space that at times I do not realize the danger that I am in as it all seems normal to me.

10. Believe the stigma - According to the borderline stigma I have no heart and I am incapable of appreciating the needs of another human being as I only care what effects me. If this is so then can you explainto me the reason behind this blog where I am literally exposing my soul in order to make life a little bit easier for someone else. I am not an exception to the rule when it comes to borderline but the portrait the stigma portrays is the exception. Always look for the human being and then the disorders not the other way around. Remember mental illness effects one out of five people so tomorrow someone you love could be in my shoes and how would you like people to treat them?

Seasonal Affective Disorder - Article

An extreme form of the "winter blues," SAD is worst for most people in the fall and winter. Rarely, people develop SAD during the summer months. If you have episodes of depression that recur at the same time every year for more than two years, you may have SAD, and not just the occasional winter blues.

SAD is a real medical condition that can affect anyone, even people who are not already predisposed to depression. The condition is more common in women than men. Most people who develop SAD start experiencing symptoms in their thirties. Most people with SAD live in northern climates where there are shorter days in the winter months. Their symptoms begin to lessen in the spring when the amount of sunlight increases each day.

What are the symptoms of SAD?
People with SAD feel tired and lethargic and may withdraw from friends and family. They may have less interest in activities that they usually enjoy. Other symptoms include the following:

* inability to concentrate
* sadness or despair
* increased appetite, cravings for sweet and starchy foods, and weight gain (usually occurring in the winter months)
* irritability
* increased sleepiness
* lack of energy
* decreased interest in work and social activities

Many symptoms of SAD are similar to those of major depression. Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing some or all of the symptoms listed above.

What causes SAD?
While the exact cause of SAD is unknown, researchers believe the condition may be related to the body's internal clock, which regulates temperature and hormone production. Nerve centers in the brain control our daily moods and rhythms, and are stimulated by the amount of light that enters our eyes. During the night and in periods of reduced light (as occurs in the winter), a gland in the brain produces a hormone called melatonin, which makes you feel drowsy. SAD may be related to increased levels of melatonin in the body. On dull winter days, people with the condition may have difficulty waking up, and may feel drowsy or "down" during the day. Other research is looking at the role of serotonin in SAD. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter (chemical in the brain) that helps to regulate mood and behaviour. Sunlight seems to have an effect on serotonin levels. Therefore, the shorter days and longer nights associated with the fall and winter season may cause decreased levels of serotonin.

Original Article Link

ECT Shock Therapy A Personal Account

During my first admission the doctor told me that he believed that ECT might be good for my situation and he said I should go forward with it. I replied that is good what the heck are you talking about? ECT is Electro Convulsive Therapy or shock treatments and when he said this all I pictured was the scene from "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest" so I was not exactly thrilled with this suggestion but the mental place I was in at the time was eating me alive so I said what the heck thinking I would just pull out at a later date if things became to hairy.

First things first they need a second doctor to check you out to make sure that you are a good client for this treatment. The guy met me and a minute later he stamped his sign of approval. Then they get you to watch the movie on how the procedure works and what to expect, it is not a pretty picture but I was really glad to find out I would not be conscious for it. How it works is your brought down to the room where they give you a combination of meds, then you are told to bite down on this piece of rubber and then you breath the sleeping gas until you fall asleep a few moments later. There are two types of ECT one is bilateral which is they put two pads on each temple and the second is unilateral where both pads are on one side of your head. There are a number of people in the room and they each grab a limb then the doctor nods his head and a short blast of current is passed between the two pads putting your body into a convulsion. There are apparently good convulsions and bad convulsions determined by the time they last, the positive one I believe is somewhere over thirty seconds or so. The patient wakes up a while later and after the first one you swear that you had just been run over by a mack truck. Most people undergo a treatment every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for three to four weeks so between nine to twelve sessions is ideal but some people require less while others need a few more. It is a lot safer then it use to be and the injury rate is very small but of course you need to sign a waiver that basically says there is a chance bones or teeth may be broken, bruises may appear and of course there is a chance you may die. Oh by the way your memory around treatment days if not hazy have disappeared and don't come back but why would someone want to remember a day in a mental institution is beyond me.

The problem with ECT is that it does not work for everyone and the so called experts of the field are not really sure why it works at all. The best explanation I have ever heard is that it is like a TV that is on the fritz so you unplug it and then plug it back in hoping for what ever reason it has fixed itself. My ECT sessions were stopped after five or six as I was not showing any signs of improvement and for whatever the reason it was taking a long time for me to come back to consciousness, this is a genetic thing as a number of family members do the same thing even when electricity is not involved. I know people that ECT has worked for and basically changed their lives, I know people where the effects of the treatments only last a short time so they undergo maintenance treatments about once every couple of months to keep on the positive track and I know a lot of people that the treatment did nothing for at all. I was not happy that they stopped my sessions so soon as I thought I was feeling a bit better but the hospital did not want to take a risk when the benefits were not that clear so I lost that argument.

Two years later I am back in the hospital coming off of a number of drugs to start a new med class plus a few other reasons. I figured that since I was in the hospital anyway they might as well try ECT again. They ran every test in the book to make sure I would not have any problems with the meds and then they booked the operating room to ensure nothing went wrong. I remember waking up that morning then waking up in the recovery room with nothing in between. The first thing I did was asked the nurse if I came around fast enough to which she lied to me and nodded her head. I was informed the next day that the ECT sessions were now off limits as I posed to much of a health risk and for a while all my doctor would say is that it took you too long to wake up again. My brain does not let things go that easily so I pestered the heck out of him for the next few days until I got the real story. Everything went smoothly with me falling asleep, I had a great convulsion and then I stopped breathing for about a minute so they had to "bag" me for awhile until my brain remembered I was suppose to be breathing. I didn't ask any more questions about ECT after that.

ECT or Electro Convulsive Therapy is a last resort treatment as the odds are not great that it will work and there is a bit of danger that goes with it, my stopping breathing is not normal and they are unsure whether it was the meds they gave me or the meds that I was taking at the time that was responsible for this. ECT is meant for people whose depression has hit a point where quite honestly it can't get any worse so they will try anything to bring you back out of that hole of despair.

Long term effects I really do not have any except for a few hazy days and a couple of missing hours. After the first couple of treatments the mack truck is down graded to a golf cart that ran you over but within hours after the session you would never know I had it done. I started writing a book in the hospital as a way to basically kill time and I was always able to remember after a session what I had wrote the day before. Like I said if you feel that your on your last legs and will do what it takes to survive then look into ECT and try to picture this post and not "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest" as it is a hell of a lot safer then it use to be.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Obama Declares Swine Flu National Emergency

Twitter has exploded in terms of number of users and the wave of traffic that comes from this particular social network with no signs of slowing down. With 140 characters you are able to tell your followers basically anything that you want from what you had to lunch to what you are working on at the moment. Twitter is an amazing tool but like any tool it needs to be used carefully.

1. Twitter Followers - Depending on the reason why you are active in Twitter should dictate the type of followers you have. If you are just interested in conversing with a large number of people than it is fine if you follow everyone and anyone. However if your Twitter is for business than you need to be a lot more selective. There are a number of tools that will enable you to put forward a Twitter search as specific as a user who lives in a Waco Texas who is interested in making money online. If you are looking for potential customers you need to make sure that is who you are following and that who is following you.

2. Spamming Fellow Tweeters - Spam is not cool on any level and at any social network so you have to remember to space out your "ads" or else your followers are going to be running to the hills. I personally try to use a one in ten or even a two in ten where the majority of my links are interesting news and the others are specific to the product I am trying to promote. The last thing that you want is all of your Twitter posts to sound the same.

3. Cold Selling Does Not Work - If you are thinking I am going to get 10,000 followers and than bombard them with sales messages which will lead to a massive increase in my bank account I hate to break it to you but this will not work. A bazillion different reasons but the main two being the economy is still struggling and people have become much more blind to ads. From personal experience I sent out a tweet to over 11,000 people and it brought absolutely nothing back other that a handful of clicks. Twitter is like anything else you need to back up what you say and when your competing against so many other people your Tweets need to stand out to get attention.

4. Time - It takes a lot of time to build up a loyal list of followers and many website owners for whatever the reason count on Twitter as their only promotional tool which is a mistake. Twitter can pay off huge but it is dangerous to put all of your eggs in one basket. I have used TweetAdder for a while now and nothing comes close to it. Tweet Adder finds the exact person I am looking for, keeps my ratios in check which keeps Twitter happy and every now and again I can send out a ton of direct messages using this tool. What Tweet Adder does is save a ton of time so I am able to focus on other aspects of my business.

In closing Twitter is an explosive tool that shows know sign of slowing down but it is essential that you realize from the site what your main objective is to using this powerful tool.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Sticks And Stones May Break My Bones

Everywhere you look there are websites promising you to make a ton of money online very quickly yet 99% fail to deliver. To really make money online it is essential to basically go to school for how to generate a decent amount of income while sitting at your computer desk and that is what Chris Farrell offers through his membership site.

In the last week I have learned more from Chris Farrell than in my two years combined from other resources. Chris takes the time to explain everything from start to finish so his members are able to understand the complete process and than able to use this knowledge to start making money online.

Chris offers hours upon hours of step by step instructions on the right way to make money online through countless articles and over seven hundred hours of videos. If you have seen my latest website http://terrys-new-website.com was completely created with the tools provided by Mr. Farrell and the time invested was a couple of hours.

The new website is designed to basically run itself and all I have to do is concentrate on sending traffic to the site. This website will not make me a $1000 by Saturday but what it will do is bring in consistent income for a long time to come once it hits the right level.

Do not get me wrong this is not a get rich quick scheme but an actual business and like the corner store the more time you spend working the larger it will become. If you are a person that can not focus and are not driven to success than the Chris Farrell membership site is not for you.

The best part is right now you can try out the Chris Farrell membership site for under $5 for a week but there is a very good reason why an insanely percentage of trial members become long term members. Check out the free E-Book at the link below and congrats on starting your online business.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Highs And Lows Of BPD

Highs And Lows Of Borderline Personality Disorder

The extremes of Borderline Personality Disorder can cause havoc on the person suffering from the personality disorder and those trying to help the person. The fluctuation between high and low can be seen as a form of manipulation but in actuality the person suffering from BPD is trying to protect their false self image. The sudden switches also tend to cause confusion of the diagnosis between BPD and Bipolar disorder. Both disorders do have their high and low periods but the main difference is time where someone with Borderline may experience several mood switched though out a single day someone with Bipolar may enter the one mood frame for up to months at a time. I really have not studied Bipolar in great depth so if I am wrong again someone speak up but I am pretty sure this is right.

Keep in mind the Borderline Personality Disorder highs and lows are not really emotions but based off of perception that comes from a false self image. I think the easiest way to do this is to bring up a number of different situations and show it from both the high and low perspective as it relates to BPD.

Relationships -
A) High - The person I am with is the most beautiful, intelligent, caring, understanding woman I have ever met and I will do anything to maintain this perfect relationship. The other person should be thankful for having someone like me in their life
B) Low - This person is nothing but an aggravation to me who is constantly looking for ways to bring me down and add to the misery in my life. If I could handle being alone than this woman would have been kicked to the curb a long time ago.

- This is all talking about the same person but just a different perspective so when things are going well they are really going well but when they are bad they are really bad. I have been a number of relationships that can be measured in years that were going absolutely amazing on all levels until my brain saw something it took as a threat and I ended up in a low BPD perspective then watched the relationship crumble unless I could figure out what I saw as a threat really was not a threat at all.

Me -
A) High - I am always right, I understand the situation better then anyone else in my life especially the so called `professionals`. I walk into any room and I am immediately the center of attention for I am that good. I can walk through fire and not get burned as I am basically invincible.
B) Low - I am always wrong so it is better to lock myself in the house and stay away from people so they don`t have the opportunity to hurt me. I walk into the room and everyone stares because I look like cousin It. If a situation is bad chances are I will get the short end of the stick every time. My doctors are all against me and they keep adding more and more bricks to the wall so there is no chance of recovery.

- I am also diagnosed with Severe Major Depressive Disorder so it tends to make the low perspective very low. Neither of the above perspectives are safe as the high level I don`t think I can be hurt so I take all sorts of stupid chances. The low perspective on the wrong day has led to more then one suicide attempt.

Therapy -
A) High - My therapist understands every little thing that I deal with on a daily basis and together we have made great strides in my recovery.
B) Low - My therapist surprises me that she/he remembers my name. I have spent countless sessions detailing my life yet no progress has been made of any kind. All the sessions are a paid form of torture as all the therapist does is attack me and destroy my self esteem. I am better off on my own.

- This is how someone with Borderline Personality Disorder destroys therapists as one session they are God and the next session they are the Devil all from a different perspective of the client. The problem is even on high BPD moments nothing is being accomplishes as it is not real.

Everything in recovery is about finding that nice stable place right in the middle of the high and low where the real self image is. The first step for me was to recognize the stage I was in and doing what it took to get to the neutral position and learning how to stay there. With a lot of effort I put a buffer between someone else`s actions or words and my response to make sure my actions are coming from a neutral state and not a high or low false perspective which to be honest is a royal pain in the ass but it is getting easier as time goes by. There are still certain situations that will put me into a negative state but like I said I am in recovery and not recovered.

Living with Borderline Personality Disorder is like being drunk standing on a see saw some days and you never know which way you will lose your balance but your pretty sure it is not going to be good. When it comes to confrontations the person with BPD is more then likely in a high BPD stage and will fight like hell to stay there as the other side or the low end usually means your fighting yourself and in my case a battle to keep breathing.

I hope that this post helped cleared up the differences between the two stages and remember this is my perspective and chances are it will differ to a certain degree from other people cursed by this disorder.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Discussion Of Triggers

Tonight's group was all about triggers and what a person can do when a trigger takes place. I realized rather quickly what I consider to be a trigger and what the course material considers to be a trigger is a world apart. The course talks about things such as someone talking down to you or someone yelling or certain dates and what have you but where my differences popped in where the reaction and suggestive tool that is suppose to follow. I have triggers where my heart jumps that may be helped by these new coping tools but I also have triggers that will send me screaming and hiding under the covers waiting for who knows what to disappear. My "extreme" triggers is why I agreed to join this group in the first place for once I pass six or seven on the trigger severity scale I basically only have one answer which is self harm.

I have spent the last few sessions in the group trying to think of a coping tool that I can use which will be able to meet the high end triggers yet at the same time are seen as acceptable and will keep my butt off the psych ward. Unfortunately for me I have no clue what could take self harms place. I am getting better at identifying a dangerous pattern early on and a number of the group suggestions may add to this tool box which is great but my brain is still focused on the fear of the triggers that will leave their mark.

In the last year or so people have made comments how I seem to be more at ease and calmer than I have been and I wish I could say I used so and so techniques or read so and so book or my so and so counselor is the reason but the truth in the matter is 95% of it is medication. If my meds do what they are suppose to do and I take them and do all of the other things surrounding them on schedule I can pull off the appearance of someone who has their ducks in order. Unfortunately I have run into situations that still cause great difficulty and my brain still likes to dig through the past in order to inflict chaos.

Back to the group where I am now wondering if this is the right place for me or would I be better off just waiting for a more specific group. Stupid part is the main concern is if I drop the group how will it make me look to my counselor and/or doctor which I doubt in the grand scheme of things should even matter.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Troublesome Comments

I have been running Untreatable Online for close to two years and over that period I have received comments that are full of hope, wonderful ideas and that go a long way to getting rid of the stigma that hangs over mental illness but unfortunately there is another side to the comments.

1. Spam Comments - Tons of comments that I receive will never make it on to Untreatable Online simply because the writer has nothing to offer to the conversation and is only interested in promoting their products. Lately it has been a lot of cure anxiety naturally or will away panic attacks.

2. I Just Don't Understand Comments - In the last couple of weeks I posted an article from Oprah.com involving a seven year old girl who is dealing with schizophrenia and it was followed by comments that left me shaking my head. There has been at least seven comments left urging the parents of Jani to bring their little girl to a church where she would basically undergo an exorcism to get rid of all the "demons" that are causing her illness. It is almost 2010 and people still believe that mental illness is the result of demonic possession.

3. Hate Comments - Thankfully this category is a rarity and even more so after I put up that little statement on my comment section but for awhile Untreatable Online seemed to attract people who thought it was funny to kick someone while their down. Do they not watch "My Name Is Earl" and realize the power of karma. Like I said this type of comment is way down but I know this type of comment has led to more than one mental health blog writer packing it in and taking their story off the med.

I have a busy week this week with a doctor's appointment, three nights of group meetings and a meeting with my counselor to end the week. Needless to say I am going to be pretty busy which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Free E-Book To Help You Get Started Making Money

Group Dynamics

It is now day two in the group I have joined through my local mental health association and to say that I am overly joyed at finding this new outlet would be a boldface lie. When people look at groups and they see all of the benefits that this support outlet offers needless to say they get pretty excited but there are two main factors that in the end will determine how successful a group is

(A) The facilitator - The person hired by the agency to put on the group and this area comes down to not how well the person presents the material for lets face it its not that difficult but by how they lead the group and more importantly the ability to pull the group back to the line they are suppose to be one. Basically if it is about facing your daily needs and 3/4 of the time is spent on someones sick cat there is a problem here. I have led enough groups to know the importance of making sure to get to the end goals. Side conversation that is beneficial to the group is very important as long as it is connected to what the group is suppose to be focused on.

(B) The other people in the group - I have never actually sat down and have been given a list of people and then told to pick the best people for said group for the environments I have worked in the people are basically forced to be there. The problem with mental illness is just because five people share the same diagnosis does not mean they are the same people in terms of dealing with the disorder, their survival techniques and their overall personalities. If you have certain personalities which we will call the me personalities where basically they have a story for absolutely every situation and attempts to get the entire group session to focus on them - I have been called a master manipulator by more than one person and the me personalities have me beat - the time spent in the group can seem to last forever.

Groups are a wonderful way to educate a number of people who can come together with similar experiences and problems and find a way to work to each persons individual recovery goal but they are not for everyone. I made a commitment to this new group so I will stick it out for the next seven or so sessions and I am hoping at the end it will teach me something new and get me that much closer to a state of recovery.

Bonus - I have started a new website that shows people how to make money online and it is the most easiest one, two, three process that you can imagine. Yep it is a bit of work at the beginning but once it is going it is completely automated. Throw in a couple of tricks I have learned through my experiences and it will speed up the entire process.
