I found this unique RC helicopter while surfing the YouTube. This RC helicopter is not controlled by the usual radio set but through an infra-red beam and operated through an i-device or should I say, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

It’s not that easy and it’s not that hard to build our own rc car.  Let alone it’s just a 2 channel RC car.  Regardless how many channel you want to implement, this is still the main things that you need to posses before starting to ensemble and build the rc car.

1. Radio transmitter (TX) or simply called as “radio” or “tx”.
2. Radio reciever (RX) or simply called as “reciever” or ‘rx”.
3. Electric motor or also called “motor”.
4. Servo
5. Electronic Speed Control or people always called just ESC.
6. Battery pack
7. Chassis
8. Gears
9. Axles
10. Rims
11. Tyres
12. Body

However, there’s additional thing that you need to posses as well.

1. Battery charger
2. Soldering kit
3. Screw drivers
4. Insulation tape
5. Heat shrink tube
6. Scissor
7. Cutter

It’s been a while since I look back on this hobby.

I’ve been very busy with study and work that I don’t even have enough time to sleep.  Thank God that at last I have some free time to relax and do something that I like.

So far, I only manage to have only the radio transmission and the radio receiver.  On the buying list next would be to get an electronic speed control (ESC).

I am still not sure how to choose or getting the right ESC.  But let’s find out later.

I will update soon about it when I have enough knowledge to determine the best type of ESC for this project.

Hi. It’s been awhile since my last post here. I have been busy with my works, my study and everything in my life. Well, this is a hobby anyway. So you cannot blame me for being lazy to update here. It’s not that I am lazy but I don’t have time to do so.

Now some updates about the body. I did said we will use a Coke Cola cans. Well, I’ve tried and I failed. That aluminium sheet which make the can was thick and not soft enough to be formed.

Then I asked the guy, would it be okay to use a Coke Cola can? He said, it would be too thick! If you want to use materials around the home, you should use a disposable baking sheet. No wonder I can’t make it right.

I can’t post any picture for now, because I didn’t take any. I will try to take photos when I do it next time with baking aluminium sheet.

MASwings is a subsidiary company by Malaysia Airlines (MAS).  MASwings only fly in the state of Sabah and Sarawak.  Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia where I live.  MASwings fly to the rural area where MAS cannot lands.  Hence, they need fleets that requires only short take of and landing runway.  This type of airplane is called STOL Airplane where STOL stands for Short Take off and Landing.  All of their fleets are only powered by propeller engine.  None by jet engine.

If you see the logo of MASwings, the pattern before the “M” is actually a Hornbill’s beak.  Hornbill is the coat of arm for Sarawak.

This is the biggest airplane owned by MASwings.  This airplane is a twin turbo prob powered.  Manufactured by the ATR company in 1997.  There will be 3 more of this airplane will be delivered to MASwings from ATR in this 2010.

This is the 2^nd largest fleet owned by MASwings.

This airplane have its maiden flight on 1965! =-O If we count it now at the year of 2010, this aircraft have been flown for 45 years! That’s amazing!

However very little information about this aircraft.

Hello, how was the things going on with you guys?  Well, I’m still looking for a body shell for my OEM RC Car and did not found even one that will satisfy my desires so I keep hold on until I may find the body I want.

Actually I have something on my mind, it is just that I cannot find it anywhere even on ebaY, let alone my local hobby store.  I live in a small city called Miri, in state of Sarawak in Malaysia.  There’s very little hobby shop here and the choices are very limited.

Here is what I aimed for.  It is actually a hacked body.  But we need to find the base body somehow to be able to hack it.  Am I right?
