Unibased ForSite2020® Modules – Integrated Pieces of the Puzzle to Manage Resources, Improve Care and Reduce Costs

Health information exchanges (HIEs) are gaining ground and growing more popular with every passing day. What can hospitals do to ensure that their physicians as well as the physicians in the service area have all the tools they need to communicate effectively and do business with the facility? Remembering that physician offices are in different stages of adopting current technologies, what is the answer to "how can we do business together" - no matter what their place is on the adaptation curve?

An essential aspect of building and maintaining productive working relationships with physicians in the health system and the surrounding areas is communication. In today's healthcare world, several forms of communication are being utilized – some old, some new – and hospital have to be able to take in information in all forms and put it into viable use.

The ability to send and receive data can change the way a hospital spends and saves money. Without the right technology in place, physicians and staff can spend up to:

2-3 hours per day scanning and indexing items
1 or more hours a day looking or searching for clinical information
1-2 hours a day waiting on the phone to schedule appointments

In a typical 8 hour work day, up to half of the day could be spent on not seeing patients, but doing research or waiting on hold.

With workflow inefficiencies and disjointed processes such as this, it is easy to see why both patient and physician satisfaction can quickly spiral downward. Being fully aware of time-utilization issues and satisfaction rankings, hospitals and physicians’ offices need a way to "push" data where it needs to go, and have it get there without getting lost and without delay.

With ForSite2020® Fax Order Collection, Utilization & Storage (FOCUS), hospitals can receive physician orders from offices that haven't implemented electronic health record (EHR) technology. Draft Stage 3 Meaningful Use Recommendations Expected in August

Press Release: Unibased to Support the Transition to ICD-10 for Medical Diagnosis and Inpatient Procedure Coding in Newest Release

Unibased Systems Architecture (Unibased) will support the ICD-10 medical diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding in its newest ForSite2020® release, and will be ready when the ICD-9 code sets are replaced by ICD-10 on October 1, 2013. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) is the standard diagnostic tool for epidemiology, health management and clinical purposes.

ICD-10 will affect diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding for everyone covered by Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), not just those who submit Medicare or Medicaid claims. ICD-10 medical diagnosis codes must be used for all health care services provided in the U.S., and ICD-10 procedure codes must be used for all hospital inpatient procedures. Claims with ICD-9 codes for services provided on or after the compliance deadline cannot be paid.

ForSite2020® periOperative Resource Management System (ORMS) and ForSite2020® Physician Order Collection and Enterprise Tracking (POCET) will provide enhanced patient safety and improved physician relations as well as streamlined and efficient coordination of care.

Bayfront will deploy the Unibased ForSite2020® solution across its 20+ operating rooms, with the primary goal of complete clinical integration, providing ease of access and sharing of pertinent information to areas such as PACU and inpatient nursing floors across the enterprise. Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas has been a valued Unibased client since 1999 and we honor them as they celebrate their 75th year! In 1937, as America was struggling through the Great Depression, a small group of dedicated women from the Catholic order of the Sisters of The Holy Family of Nazareth committed to bring a modern hospital to Tyler. (Unibased) announced today that Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), in Brattleboro, VT, has signed an agreement to deploy its award-winning ForSite2020® solution suite, including ForSite2020® Resource Management System (RMS), ForSite2020® periOperative Resource Management System (ORMS) and ForSite Analytics business intelligence tool. After an extensive evaluation process, BMH selected Unibased as the best solution available to provide the physician and patient community with an enhanced consumer experience, facilitating access management, enterprise scheduling, surgery management and business intelligence analytics across the BMH enterprise for improved resource utilization and streamlined coordination of care.

The integrated solution suite will provide coordinated scheduling for all patient services and departments including surgery and streamline the scheduling of pre-surgical diagnostic procedures to ensure they have been completed prior to the day of surgery, as well as efficiently coordinate follow-up care and post-discharge activities to eliminate costly readmissions. Unibased’s comprehensive ForSite2020® solution insures revenue growth by efficient utilization of resources to reduce costs and increase operational efficiencies. Truth, Perception & Reality Require Verification

Seek the truth, all the truth, not just the part you like. The truth is easy to remember. It requires less brain cycles. Save your brain cycles for more important work such as imagination, creativity, humor, and awareness.

However, as a caution, your truth might be different from someone else’s truth. Observations can be colored by factors such as distractions as well as personal attitudes, experiences, emotions, and security. Hence, while an individual’s perception is their reality, it is not necessarily fact. Trust your observations, but be sure to wipe out the background noise and baggage. Question your perceptions. In most cases, your observations will require a few questions.

Verify your perception and let your truth be reality. Be internally satisfied with your insights and remember that many audiences are not interested in your views on reality. Wisdom is knowing when it is beneficial to share reality with those around you. If you must share, humor may be the best mechanism.

(Unibased) announced today that the nationally renown Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has signed an agreement to deploy its award-winning ForSite2020® application suite across all CTCA facilities nationally. Unibased’s ForSite2020® solution includes enterprise scheduling, a consumer portal for patient self scheduling, a physician portal for physician office scheduling and order tracking, and a fax management solution for managing faxed physician orders. After an extensive evaluation process, CTCA selected Unibased as the best solution available to facilitate enterprise scheduling, access management and resource utilization across a major state-of-the-art national cancer treatment network.

CTCA was seeking a solution provider with a history of delivering innovative new design to serve the unique needs of their clients.
