It’s pretty obvious that this furry fella was happy to be rescued and off the street…

But not everyone was happy with this development.

Nat panned her camera to the backseat…and her dog was staring at her.

Nat gave viewers more information about what happened and wrote in the video’s text overlay, “Found this poor baby running in the street, so I picked him up and my Golden Retriever was not having it.”

Workplace policies can sometimes lead to unexpected and creative solutions.

In this story, a man was working in IT and had to enforce a strict rule that phones couldn’t be replaced unless they were no longer functional.

Unfortunately, many employees were stuck with faulty Blackberry Storm devices they desperately wanted to replace.

To get around the rule, users found dramatic ways to “break” their phones and qualify for new ones.

I work in IT for a large corporation.

We had a quid pro quo deal with Verizon Wireless.

It allowed for free devices every 12 months. This is still true today.

It was also true back in the late 00s when I was doing all the IT procurement.

This man’s company strictly enforced a 2-year rule.

IT management instituted a strict “2 year rule.”

Nothing less than two years old would be replaced to save on frivolous replacements.

Cut to the release of the BlackBerry Storm. To a lesser degree, the Torch as well.

This was their attempt at an all-touchscreen interface.

It was meant to compete with the new iPhone sensation that came out the previous year.

He had to explain to users that they couldn’t replace their phones for 2 years.

I never had one myself. It is pretty well accepted that they were terrible.

They were really bad and practically unusable compared to the old physical keyboards.

The touchscreen was not responsive or accurate.

So I had to explain to Storm users that wanted to get rid of them about the two-year policy.

He told them he could only replace them if they weren’t functioning at all.

I was barred from ordering them a replacement if their existing Storm was functional.

Their replacement would be free at 12 months.

I just could not do it if the device was functional.

It led to some creative acts of violence against BlackBerrys.

So, users came up with different creative solutions.

More than one person just smashed their device on the floor right in front of me.

One guy at happy hour dropped his into a half-full glass of beer. That was a waste of beer.

The best one involved a guy setting up a sheet in his yard.

He ran over his device with his riding mower.

He sent me a picture of the mangled shrapnel afterward.

He gave them new phones the next day.

They all had free, non-Storm devices delivered the next day.

I got some Office Space-esque joy seeing all the carnage.

Wow! Some policies have loopholes that people will always find creative ways around.

Good for him, though, for being honest with the users and emphasizing the “non-functional” part of the terms.

So in the end, everyone got the upgrade they wanted.

Back in my university days, my best friend and I had a minor falling out.

I have no idea what this was over. I also do not know what precipitated it.

Needless to say, I was looking to exact some petty revenge.

This man and his best friend are massive Eagles fans, and they both dislike the Dallas Cowboys.

He was studying chemistry and was in the process of writing his thesis.

He was also a massive Eagles fan. This was something we shared in common.

As such, we had a vehement dislike of the Dallas Cowboys.

This was just after the Cowboys had beaten Philly in the 2009 playoffs.

He decided to mess up his friend’s autocorrect entries on Word.

He left his laptop unlocked and idle one afternoon in the library.

He stepped away for a comfort break. I seized the opportunity and opened up Word.

I created new autocorrect entries.

For example, every time he wrote “Acid,” it would autocorrect to “Jerry Jones.”

“Alkali” would autocorrect to “Tony Romo.” I added as many as I could think of.

Some words would automatically be changed to terms associated with the Dallas Cowboys.

He came back a few minutes later. I stopped before he noticed.

For the remainder of his time at university, I would periodically hear him erupt.

This happened while he was writing a piece of coursework.

Whatever word he was trying to use would automatically change.

It would turn into something associated with the Dallas Cowboys.

His friend never knew what was happening until he came clean.

He never quite worked out why it was happening. He would have to use a workaround.

For example, he changed the dictionary language.

I came clean at graduation. To be fair, he saw the funny side.

Apparently, a rogue “Terrell Owens” did sneak its way into his final thesis.

He was slightly annoyed about that.

Hahaha! This was childish, but also pure genius.

At least he confessed before his friend started reporting it to the Microsoft headquarters.

But, my friends, this story takes some twists and turns, and person who got left behind decided to play hardball with their rude and inconsiderate friend.

“Becky (31F) and I (31F) have been best friends for 20 years. In high school, we became close with Ryan and Daniel, and the four of us did everything together.

Some people become OBSESSED when they’re in love…

Becky has always been fixated on Ryan. If he liked a girl, she would tear her apart or make passive aggressive comments until it was uncomfortable. When he had girlfriends, she would openly criticize them and act like they weren’t good enough for him.

Eventually, she started doing the same thing to me. She would make comments to downplay my friendship with Ryan or subtly compare us, like she needed to prove she mattered more. It felt competitive for no reason, but I ignored it for years.

But people move on…hopefully…

Fast forward to Ryan’s wedding last month. Becky and I drove together and shared a hotel. The passive aggressive comments started again. She said I would not even be at the wedding if it was not for her, even saying things like that in front of other people.

Later, in the hotel, she complained that Ryan did not spend enough time with her. She actually said, “Sorry to you and Daniel, but he should at least want to spend time with me.”

She clearly can’t get out of her own head.

After years of this, I snapped and said, “What a weird thing to say out loud.”

She immediately escalated and said, “Oh what? You really think that Ryan and I aren’t better friends?” and brought up that he asked her to help design the engagement ring.

I said, “I don’t care who’s closer, but it’s weird that you care this much. It’s not our fault you’re in love with him.”

A person who does something like this isn’t really a friend.

She stormed out and, instead of coming back, she drove off and left me stranded four hours away with no way to get back.

The next morning I couldn’t rent a car because I only had a debit card, so my only option was a same day flight back to where I live across the country, which cost $800.

I sent her an angry text and a Venmo request. She hasn’t responded and we haven’t spoken in a month.

I’ll admit saying she’s in love with him was harsh, and the text I sent after was not my best moment.

We’re supposed to talk tomorrow.

Most people tear down a fence because it’s falling apart. This neighbor tore his down because he wanted a better view of someone else’s property.

One homeowner was shocked when she came home one day to discover that her neighbor tore down his six-foot privacy barrier and replaced it with a shabby chain link.

Suddenly, her backyard was on display for a neighbor who apparently decided her four-acre orchard looked better without obstruction.

With three barking dogs now visible and no budget for a new fence, she’s desperate for solutions.

Am I overreacting?

I live on about 4 acres of a pecan orchard which is basically a large rectangle.

Along one side, there are 2 houses that face the street around the corner, but their back yards face my back yard.

The fences, however.

One house has no fence, but there is a line of trees and bushes that provide privacy.

The other house, until recently, had a 6ft privacy fence. It is not a shared fence.

One day, the neighbor made a big change to the property.

One day my husband and I came home to the fence being cut down and a chain link fence put in its place.

The owner’s own words were that he “wanted to enjoy the view.”

Our view. Right into our backyard!

These homeowners were irate, but the neighbor was thrilled.

Is this man crazy? My husband and I are so upset. We feel like we have no privacy.

This neighbor has three dogs (we didn’t even know he had dogs — that’s how great the privacy fence was), one being a pitbull that runs up and barks at me and my kids every time we are in his sight.

This puts these homeowners in quite the tough spot.

We don’t exactly have money in the budget to add a fence. Unfortunately my husband was laid off from his tech job.

What would you do?

We currently have planted a large strip of Mongolian sunflowers along that line, but that’s a slow growing solution.

One photo was taken at my driveway. The other was taken at the back of my property.

Well this was a rude awakening.

AIO – My friend choosing to still be close with her neighbor

I (22F) have two friends (both 22F) let’s call them Emy and Mira. Emy lives in an apartment and we love to hangout at her place.

She got this neighbor that lives in the same floor as her, let’s call him James (70M).

At first James is giving typical grandpa, he would cook for us, treat us for coffee. He’s kind of weird though, he would call us Love/Darling which seems normal like maybe he’s just being affectionate.

I think he sounds like a scumbag.

Overtime he became physical, he would hold hands with my friend, hug in public.

He would hold my friends’ waists.

We’re uncomfortable but you know he seems like a very religious man, he’s also rich and successful ain’t no way he’s some scumbag right?

Yikes!

There’s more though, because I’m not close with him I just found out that he :

1. Ask Emy for a kiss on his cheek when he gave her food and she did.

2. Ask Mira to date with him and to not tell me and Emy, ofc she refused.

She is not okay with what her friends are doing.

So I tried to talk some sense into them and to cut him off what I got was :

1. From Mira : You know, maybe because you’re not that close with him u can say that. He offered me multiple jobs and I found his insight in business to be valuable

2. From Emy : He’s my neighbor and I can’t cut him off.

From what i get, they’re scared with him, but still want to be close with him to reap the benefit and that ticks me off.

Today they scolded me because I am being cold to James when i visit saying that i needed to be diplomatic, AIO?

James is a creep. It would really be better if her friends stayed away from him.

AITA for correcting my roomie about her meals when eating out?

I love my roomie very much. She’s a wonderful person, and I consider her family. We’ve lived together a few years now, and we’re both pushing 30.

This is where it gets a bit tricky…

My roomie has a digestive condition that will cripple her with stomach cramps if she eats even a little bit of dairy.

She also doesn’t eat meat, but she can do eggs and some fish so as someone who loves food and cooking I’ve found it very easy to cook for the both of us and she’s always so grateful about it.

We go on a lot of camping trips together, we really love it.

Several times now on our way to a camping trip we’d stop somewhere to get something to eat and she’d end up doubled over with horrible cramps by the time we got to the campsite and we’d have to pack up and turn around.

UH OH…

Because I cook a lot I have a better idea of what’s in most food then she does, but when we first ate out together years ago I pointed out something had dairy in it to the waiter and mentioned she couldn’t have dairy- and she asked me politely to not do that again, so I didn’t.

Well last weekend we went on a big kayak camping trip.

We had just gotten off a ferry and were having a last hot meal at a little restaurant when she ordered something with brioche bread- which unlike most breads has a LOT of butter in it.

So I said “Don’t get Brioche, it has a ton of butter.” She shot me a dirty look and asked the waiter had to ask the chef who confirmed it did- and she got a substitution.

She seems offended about it…

She was pretty peeved at me for correcting her about her meal in front of the waiter- something she has asked me not to do before.

Here’s the thing about this trip tho.

We were going to camp over night at posy island, a tiny island marine park off the coast of Friday Harbor, one of the San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound.

The island has only two campsites and we’d rented both for two nights so we were going to be getting the whole island to ourselves- and one day was the lowest tide of the month as well, so we’d be getting some excellent tide pooling in!

He was just trying to help her out here…

There were four of us on this trip.

Her, me, another friend and my girlfriend.

At this point, we’d woken up at 2am, driven five hours, taken a 2 hour ferry that cost 70$ and were gearing up to paddle a few miles over the harbor in the early morning cold.

We’d all taken time off work, which was hard for us- and the only reason we’d taken such an early ferry was so we could paddle over early in the morning when there were less boats in the harbor because roomie is afraid of kayaking near large boats and honestly none of us love it.

That’s INSANE!

So after we did alllll that, I wasn’t willing to turn around because she didn’t want to be told she’d ordered something with dairy in it.

And the way the ferry’s work to the San Juans we’d be waiting maybe days to get on without a reservation- which was set for the day we were leaving.

So am I the AH for correcting her about her own dietary restrictions?

GEEZ! That sounds unnecessary!

Why would she give her friend so much attitude over something so small?

When you work for a computer store part of your job will often be trying to upsell customers on various products, some of which might not really be needed.

What would you do if you were selling a laptop to the parents of a young lady that didn’t have much money, so you explained to them in their native tongue that the add on products that another person was trying to sell them was a bad deal?

That is what the guy in this story was doing, but then the daughter who was getting the laptop freaked out and told his manager that he told them not to buy the install package, which got him fired. His manager said that he was fired for not pushing the sales, which is technically true, but they never would have known if the daughter didn’t make a scene.

I’m sorry I saved your parents $300, got fired.

I used to work at an electronics store and this Asian family was buying a laptop for their daughter (she just got into a prestigious high school).

Families will do all they can to help their kids get what they need.

I could tell the family wasn’t well off financially, and gave everything they could to the daughter. My co-worker was handling the sale, but because the parents couldn’t speak English, I was there to translate.

From the conversation, I could tell buying her this laptop is big purchase for them, we compared prices and I tried to ensure the family got the best laptop for their budget.

These ‘extras’ are really not needed at all.

Then comes the mandatory sales pitch from my co-worker about “setting up the computer” and purchasing Microsoft Office.

Now this is the biggest rip-off and how we earn money at the store, the set-up fee (which is just filling in your name, etc. when you get a new laptop) is $100, the customer has to pay $150 for MS Office plus a $50 installation fee because we do it for you.

She is putting the customer first, which is usually the best policy.

It’s no surprise the parents was shocked at the price, but they thought it was necessary because they don’t know much about computers. The daughter insisted on how much she “needed it”.

In Mandarin, I kindly warned them against the purchase and explained why, trying to save them some money since you can easily do the set-up and pirate MS Office or even buy it for cheaper online.

Does she not understand how this works?

The parents were really grateful for the information but… the daughter starts CRYING, like bawling her eyes out. Needless to say, my white co-worker was confused as to why she is crying.

She starts wailing about how I told her parents not to buy this for her, the computer won’t run without the setup, it’s not the Microsoft won’t be the same unless she buys it, etc. Her parents are obviously telling her to stop, but she already caused the scene.

Wow, the daughter really put this person in a tough situation. He was just trying to do the right thing.

My manager comes out, sorts the situation out. The parents thanked and apologized to me as they left, but the daughter ratted me out to my manager since she can speak English. So the not so secret ending is…

My manager was mad that I lost income for the store, the sales guy was mad I lost him additional commission. I was fired.

This would be really disappointing. They were just trying to help the customer and keep them from wasting money, but the daughter had to make a scene. I assume she must have been confused about what is going on, but that is just awful.

I’m so mad, I cussed my dad’s girlfriend out and stormed out of her parents house.

I’ve been sitting at home crying and I’m so mad at my dad too.

My mom died by suicide fairly recently. My parents were divorced but there’s this picture that I always loved where I’m about 3 or 4 and I’m swinging at a park, my dad is pushing me and we’re both laughing.

My mom is also laughing but she’s barely in the picture, on the edge and in the background.

My grandpa (Dad’s dad) who is dead took the picture.

For Christmas I had it blown up in black and white and framed, I literally spent over $150 on it.

The girlfriend hated the picture.

I had him open it tonight at a Christmas Eve dinner at his girlfriend’s parent’s house. I was so excited for him to open it.

He really loved it but his girlfriend made this awful face when she seen it.

When I seen her reaction I apologized that my mom was in it but immediately regretted it, like that’s my childhood and it happened.

Then she said that she didn’t think my dad would want to hang it up unless we put it in a different frame that covered my mom.

It ended pretty dramatically.

I cussed her out, told her that she had no right to try and erase the only good years of my life, and asked her if she didn’t let her son have pictures of his dad (they’re divorced).

My dad told me to calm down.

I told him to go himself and I stormed out and drove home.

He hasn’t tried to call or anything.

I’m just seething but also feeling guilty, and her parents gave been so nice to me I am ashamed, embarrassed, but also ticked off and just don’t want to face them in the morning. Am I overreacting?

I can completely understand why OP is upset. I can also understand why the girlfriend doesn’t like the picture nearly as much as OP does. It’s too bad he didn’t give the picture to his dad when the girlfriend wasn’t around. It would’ve ended much, much differently.

Here’s my best case scenario hope for what happens next. I hope that the dad dumps the girlfriend and proudly hangs the picture on the wall, apologizing to his child for not standing up for him in the moment and thanking him for such a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

At the very least, hopefully the girlfriend or the dad at least apologize. They have to understand that OP is grieving, and it’s cruel to try to erase his mom from his memory by suggesting she needs to be cropped out of a photo.

What should’ve been a sweet moment was destroyed by a few heartless words.

Imagine being a teenager and being at war with your neighbors. We’re talking revenge so bad that you end up in the hospital, and then you return the favor.

I’m so glad I didn’t grow up in a neighborhood like that, but the person who wrote this story did. The tale you’re about to read is about the end of the war.

The neighbors didn’t think anyone was home, so they were out for revenge, trying to do damage to the home. But there was someone home, their teenage enemy who knew just what to do to stop the war forever.

I took care of it. I was 14.

My neighbors and I would always feud. I’d get in physical fights with all of their kids. They ranged from a juice pig failed out cop turned security at 21, a 16 year old drug abusing loser, a 14 year old know it all and a 12 year old who had a crush on my sister.

They were all pigs. Always leaving trash to blow freely in their yard. Never taking their shoes in the house. Parking on our lawn. Shoveling their gravel filled snow in to our lawn. Etc.

This sounds like a really rough neighborhood.

I was smaller than the 12 year old by a few inches. So I was an easy target.

I think the whole thing started over street hockey. I scored on the 14 year old brother and they said I cheated.

The 16 year old and 14 year old got a good idea in their head one day. Jump me while I was walking back home from uptown and make me eat grass while working on my kidneys.

When I stood up, they threw me in to a rose bush. I ended up getting bit by a few wasps. I ended up at the hospital. Nothing too serious. Just a few scars. Had to have a thorn removed from my eye. Blah blah blah.

Time for revenge.

So I got in to their shed and removed the nut that holds the front tire to the bike.

The 16 year old did a wheelie and nothing happened.

The 14 year old jumped a ramp and the front wheel came off.

He went to the hospital. I thought it was finished after that.

They tried to retaliate, but OP had the upper hand.

My parents had left with my sister to go to a hockey tournament. The neighbors thought I went with them. Their parents were also leaving for a week for vacation.

The night their parents left for vacation, they threw food coloring, rocks, broken bottles, boxes of street chalk and bags of flour in to our pool. The oldest brother then drove them off somewhere for the week.

Instead of vandalizing my neighbor’s house in retaliation, I vandalized my own even more. I threw eggs, wet paper, and flour at my house and up on the roof. I threw hair spray soaked lunch meat on the truck, van and jeep. And I let the air out of all the tires. I made sure I did it all from angles that would be from their property for the majority of the attack.

I used their shoes to muck through my mother’s garden to get to the driveway.

This is pretty extreme!

And then it rained.

The flour turned to dough. The eggs rotted. The paper turned in to a glue. Then the sun baked it.

It ended up creating a few thousand dollars worth of damage from what I did.

The pool had to be drained and the pump and liner had to be replaced.

He framed the neighbors for everything.

I waited until my parents got home.

They called the police.

The police took my statement. Then they waited for my neighbors to get home.

We all had a sit down. There was no disputing the damage. I had pictures of them trashing the pool, throwing objects over the fence. My camera didn’t have a complete roll of film, so I couldn’t document the whole thing. What I did have though was enough to convince the police and the insurance company as well as the neighbors that their kids were completely guilty.

They reached an agreement.

The neighbors agreed to pay for all the damage as long as we didn’t press charges.

We got a new deck. New paint on the home (my father hand painted the cedar siding of a 2700 square foot home every 3 years until he decided to go maintenance free) and new shingles for the roof.

The cars were repainted and the pool was repaired and refilled.

Two months later, the neighbors moved. I have no idea what happened to any of them.

That was some clever thinking. Adding to the neighbors’ revenge to make it look like they actually did more than they really did was pretty extreme, and OP actually got away with it.

I feel bad for the neighbor kids’ parents who had to pay for everything, but I hope they kept a closer eye on their kids after that situation.

I feel like I could almost see this scene playing out in a movie. That’s pretty intense revenge.

OP wouldn’t have been able to do the same thing today because chances are someone would have a security camera that would catch him framing the neighbors.

I do wonder how the neighbor kids reacted. Obviously, they knew they didn’t do that much damage.

Ok so I don’t have concrete evidence but I am suspicious. I’m pretty sure this lady isn’t relaxed to us.

Btw my dad is married.

When I first got TikTok I looked through his following list since he made me follow him.

There’s one account I had found where he was comment “something something BBY”. That alone was suspicious to me but I let it go because those comment where last year and he hast said anything on any recent post.

She’s getting more and more suspicious.

Now more recently he seems to be texting this same lady.

I’m seeing heart and in the messages. And when he was high he was jumpy and turning his phone away from me.

When I asked him who he was texting he hesitated. He didn’t tell me her name either.

If it was family he would have said the name like he usually does, and or explain how we are related.

He has a pet name for her.

He just told me that mom knows about her and he’ll explain later.

He never explained later and rn I think he’s on the phone with this lady. He refers to her as “honey bear” (that seems sus as hell to me)

When I asked him who “honey bear was” he didn’t even bother to answer me.

It does seem weird.

My brother tried yo justify it by saying maybe it’s a cousin name but yeah that is still freakin odd.

I can’t be the only one who thinks is sus, like I’m trying to trust him and I hope this isn’t as bad as my gut is making it seem.

he’s on the phone with her right now and while the conversation is normal it still seems weird. It’s just a hunch for the most part.

If OP’s mom supposedly knows about this lady, maybe it’s time to ask her what’s up. If she doesn’t know what’s going on, then the dad is up to no good.

Her dad said that her mom knows, so I agree with all the comments saying to mention the lady to her mom or in front of her mom and see how her mom reacts. That’s the only way to know for sure if the dad is telling the truth. Either the mom knows and it’s something completely innocent, or the mom doesn’t know and this would be the beginning of the end of their marriage.

I think the whole situation sounds pretty suspicious. It’s time to find out the truth.

Some awful neighbors make living on your own street feel like a warzone.

This homeowner has been dealing with exactly that — a neighbor who planted a private parking sign in the middle of their shared cul-de-sac, filled it with four of his own vehicles, and called the police on anyone else who parks there.

This same harassment continued whenever workers would come for permitted jobs too — this guy acted like he owned the entire neighborhood.

So while the rest of the neighbors just turned the other cheek, this homeowner was finally reaching his breaking point.

Neighbor put up a sign that the cul-de-sac parking is private.

It’s all of his vehicles that park there (4 large vehicles) and remain there for as long as he wants.

Any other neighbor’s cars he calls the police on to get them moved.

Lately, this neighbor’s bad habit has gotten even harder to tolerate.

It has been irritating me lately because most of the vehicles that turn around end up using my driveway to turn around because he parks his cars in front of my house.

His house is on a private driveway that connects to the cul-de-sac.

He knows it bothers me and he still continues to do it.

I feel like calling the authorities on him but he’s a neighbor from ****.

This neighbor stinks in plenty of other ways too.

He complains about everything. When we have workers at our house and have permits, he calls the city to try to find violations to make us halt and pay fines.

When I’m outside he comes out to check on me.

None of the other homeowners seem to want to confront him, so he’s wondering if he’ll have to be the one to step up.

All the other neighbors just stay away and let him get what he wants.

He has threatened to sue and it makes no sense, but to him it makes him feel powerful I guess.

I’m the type of person that doesn’t want confrontation and his ways of getting to me I’ve been trying to ignore and live my life.

You can only ignore behavior like this for so long.
