Hey Twerds and Twihards!   Its me {Rebecca} bringing you this week’s challenge!

In New Moon, we really get to know more about the “pack” and some of the Quileute traditions. In Quileute legend, the Raven is the trickster figure in Quileute Indian culture. His name is pronounced similar to bah-yuck in Quileute. (I found that tidbit somewhere on the internet!)

Raven is a shapechanger, who could assume any form – human or animal. The Raven is a clever and generally benign figure who sometimes helps humankind, but he also has many character traits that are viewed negatively in Quileute culture (greed, laziness, arrogance, deceitfulness, and rudeness) and many traditional legends have to do with Raven misbehaving and getting into trouble because of it. The tricks sometimes backfire, but in the manner of great fables – they offered life lessons for the young and old.

Your challenge: make a project that celebrates the Raven or any other Quileute legend (google it if you need some ideas!)

Happy Friday, Twilighters! Oh, yes – Thank God!  In keeping with the spirit of FANDOM Friday, and sharing other areas of popular culture that we are loving ~ and we are totally digging Glee!  Have you seen it?  I have to admit – I was not at all excited about this show when I heard the concept and even after the previews, I wasn’t thrilled about it.  It sounded like a tv version of what I imagine High School Musical to me!  I was curious and caught the show a few episodes in and I love it!!  OMLV, the voices on these “kids” (ok, so “Puck” is actually 27, but he is so gorgeous, I don’t even mind!)   So – are you watching?  What do you think?  Inquiring Twilighter minds want to know…

The music, which on paper should make me cringe – is AMAZING!  Neil Diamond?  … my grandmother crushes on him!!  But when Puck brings it, it is positively swoon-worthy!  They do a lot of mash-ups (combining songs) which I personally love, and the arrangements are just awesome.   Awe.  Some.   The through-story is really interesting too – and funny!  Did I mention that Jane Lynch is in it?  That alone should get you to at least give it a chance.  She is hysterically funny and is the perfect ‘villain’, so to speak.  If you haven’t watched, we highly recommend it.  If you have, let’s hear what you think! 

Finn and Quinn?  Finn and Rachel?  Oooh… or Rachel and Puck?  Oh – Schuster and Emma.  Schuster’s wife is awful, right?!  Seriously – how cute is Kurt?!  The Beyonce dancing was pure genius, I about died from laughter suffocation during the football game scene!  OMLV – hysterical!  And, on top of all of it is some straight phenomenal musical compositions!  I mentioned Neil Diamond, but they make Journey sound contemporary and then do a Glee version of Kanye West’s Gold Digger that will have you howling with laughter while bopping to the beat.  It just has so many fun aspects – I will even accept that the wrong team won the World Series, just to get my Wednesday nights back so i can get my Glee on!

So, Twilighters – let’s dish…  Were you in Glee Club or the like in your high school?  Did you have any group or team activities that you participated in in HS that this show or post reminds you of?  McKinley also has the Cheerios – thats their name for their cheering team… were you a cheerleader?  Glee does a great job of showing how imprtant it is to feel a part of something, no matter what your place in life.  Let’s hear your thoughts!  And ladies… You are SO welcome:

After a wild New Year’s Eve, EMT Edward Masen is desperate to find his dream woman. Too bad he doesn’t remember her name. Or her face. And, if he finds her, can he keep her? AU/AH All canon pairings, cause I can’t stand E&B not to be together. “M” ~fatallyobsessed

Jen’s Thoughts:

I skipped over this one the first time I saw it. I almost couldn’t bring my self to read a story with the same name as Tom Cruise’s bar in Cocktail BUT if I had continued to be stubborn I would have missed a fantastic story!!!

The first chapter alone has enough intrigue to catapult you into the rest of the story. The characterization is fantastic. Bella is sassy and cute, Edward is well… Edward. And the rest of the gang are awesome as well.

I don’t want to ruin the plot for you so I’ll leave it at that and just say READ it!!!

In Breaking Dawn, Bella transforms from human to vampire. In life, we all go through changes…though not as severe as Bella’s! What kind of changes have you physically gone through? Cut off all your hair? Dye it blue (like me?)? Nose job? Pregnancy? Lost a lot of weight? We just celebrated Halloween… did you or someone you know wear a costume that transformed them to being unrecognizable?

Spread the Twilight love...

Oh, yes – TGIF, Twilighters!  The Movie is fast approaching,  Halloween parties and trick-or-treating kiddos…  This is indeed a good Friday!  I thought we would take this chance to look back on the Vampire Diaries.  Judging by the response to the first discussion we had about the series, it seems that there are a lot of you, like us, who are, uh, bitten by this show!   It has been a few weeks since that first discussion, so if you are following the show, and very importantly, if you are behind in your DVR tapings – know that there may be SPOILERS here!  No need to ruin any surprises, now!  Just get to that DVR  – you won’t regret it!  We’ll be here when you get back!

Moving on… we now know much more about Katherine and how she plays into Stefan and Damon’s relationship.   SO much story has been told, secrets discovered, lives transformed - I don’t know about you guys, but I love having the story move along so quickly!  I have been accused of being impatient – who me?  This pace is right up my alley!  Agree?  We have the added wrinkle of knowing about Vicki, and the history of the Salvatore boys in Mystic Falls.  And the hunters – what a bizarre group they are, huh?  I also wonder if any opinions pro- or anti-Damon have changed… I love him.  He is deliciously bad, don’t you think?  Or is Stefan still your “Edward”…

Have any of you read the books?  I hear they are worlds different – give us your personal review!      What are your thought on Elena’s brother, Jeremy?  I just like that guy more and more as the show progresses.  I am tossing out food for thought here – please bring all of your TVD opinions, theories, predictions – whatever you got –  to our comments section! Let’s dish about our vampire boys.  And Elena, too. :roll:    BONUS POINTS for any projects you post specifically using TVD as your inspiration!  I will tack on Mr Linky, just in case!!
