Peek a Boo Card

Here is the tutorial on putting this adorable Peek-A-Boo card together. This project was inspired by Eunice of A Star for Chemi - Thanks Eunice!!! When you 1st see the card in the front, you'll see a image/message within the circle. When you open the card, you will then see another image/message within the circle. You can always use a square punch instead.
However, I created this one on my Design Studio program, so that I can cut on my Cricut - using the George cartridge.

1st off, before we begin... for those using 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock, line the edge of your paper to the "29" mark right after 11" on the cutting mat, so that you will get a cut just right for this project.

Ok, so cut all pieces from each page, and you will get these 4 pieces from the cut:

Apply the Scallop Circle Frame to the DSP Layer - like shown here {{see arrow}}:

Score each panel simply by following the score marks already placed strategically for you.

1 panel will have 2 score lines, fold this panel like a "N":

Fold down and make sure the circles line up.

The other panel has only 1 score line, fold this one like a "V"
Take the DSP layer, and adhere it to the panel with 1 score. I lined it up with the circle, makes it much easier to get it right on top of each other perfectly!

Place the panel with the 2 circles on your table, with the 2 circles being on the right. Apply adhesive to the section that has the circle on the right.

Now take the card panel with the DSP and adhere it to that panel, lining the circles up together.

Using the circle as a guide really helps!!!

When looking from above, your card should now look like this with the panels adhered to each other.

Now decorate. I used rub-ons for this card. The cute owl is from Imaginisce.
Now I apply a sentiment to the hidden fold... I lay it flat first, so that I will have the message in the exact spot when it is opened.

Continue to decorate as you wish, and don't forget to decorate the outside of the card, and you're done!!

Wasn't this a fun n' easy project? I want to do MORE!!!

You will need both the Design Studio and the George cartridge to cut this file. I have both .cut and .gypsy cut files available. Tim Holtz' Grundge Paper Flower - Using the Cricut Machine

Hello There!! I've seen on You Tube, Kathy Orta's video on how to create Tim Holtz' Grundge Paper Flowers using George cartridge with my Cricut machine. {{You can actually do this with any 5-Petal Flower, and not need the Cricut - as Tim Holtz used a Sizzix die cut with a 6 petal flower in his technique}} So I thought a picture tutorial would be fun to do... so here's my step-by-step picture tutorial....

This is done with a 5 petal flower, which I cut on the Cricut, using the George cartridge. Cut 3 flowers, these flowers were cut at 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".

Cut as shown, and you will now have 5 pieces. ALL pieces will be used...

I sponged the edges of each flower petal.

Now form the 3 & 4 petaled flowers into cones (over lap a petal over another, and adhere together using glue).

For the single and double petal pieces, you would roll them into themselves. Use something to help you with this task if you are not able to do it freely with your fingers. This is the double petal...

This is the single petal...

This is how it looks like when it is rolled into itself.

The 5 pieces should now look like this....
Now curl each petal ....

Now to put your flower together... first the layer with the diamond cut, apply glue around it....

Glue the 3 petal layer right on top of the 1st layer....

Add the 2 petal layer

Now for the middle rolls.... I snipped a little off the bottom, and then adhered to the layer.

After assembling all layers, snip off the back of the flower so that you have a flat back to make it easier to apply to flat surfaces.

This is the finished product....

Tutorial On Creating A Sizzix 3D Flower Look-A-Like

Hello There! Thanks for popping in... today I have a Gable box, decorated for a friend who celebrated her birthday. I have this cut as a SVG format, but for some reason, cannot locate it. I will work on another one, and have that Gable Box posted here shortly. I do have another treat for ya today tho'. Check it out... On this Gable Box, I used a Cricut cut for the sentiment "Happy Birthday", and then I used a flower from Accent Essential cart to create the Rose looking flower, that looks almost like the Sizzix 3D Flower (shown on left). Here's a little tutorial to show you how I did it:

First, I cut out two 4" flowers, which like I mentioned earlier, I got from Accent Essential cart. You could probably do this with any flower type cut of which it's petals are not deeply cut in. So try it!!

With these 2 flower cuts, I am going to use 2 different types of scissors, just to show you that you can use any type of scissors, and the results will still be the same - cute n' purdy!!

Ok, so here is the part where you cut into your flower. Start from a petal, and then cut in a swirl, going smaller, and smaller into the center of your flower. For the scallop scissors, I just cut in a circle, for the regular scissors, I cut in a circle, but I add some "waves" while cutting, so that I could somewhat replicate the petals.

At this step - it's time to assemble the flower and make it look into a 3D rose. So click here to view Assembly Instructions from Sizzix.

Here are the end results.... regular scissors on the left, scallop scissors on the right.

Now apply to my project....

Looks pretty close to the Sizzix one, and saved me some bucks on getting the cut. Plus, the flowers can be resized to whatever size I want. =0)

Bunny Basket on the Cricut X

Ok, so here it is, the sample of my Bunny Basket. I took pics, so that I can share with you how to put it together.... I thought it turned out pretty cute. For those of you that downloaded the cut file, you might want to download it again, because I adjusted the basket part a lil' bit.

Click here to download the cut file. Please note, this is for the Cricut X Machine. Design Studio program is also required for use. Cartridges used: George & Doodle Charms.

These 2 cuts are on sheet 1 & 2. These 2 cuts will make the basket. I cut it on tan Bazzill Basic card stock.

Following the score marks on each cut, I score them accordingly.

After scoring, I will place the piece like a "+".. see next photos for placement of double stick tape.

After placing the adhesive, and putting the basket together, it'll look like this:

Now to work on the bunny... I cut out the pieces from sheet #3. On the top 1-6 inches, I use a white Grace Pacific card stock, on the bottom 6-12 inches, I cut on pink DSP. I also cut a strip of black CS, which'll be used for behind the eyes of the bunny.

I attached the pinks (ears and nose), the black strip on the back of the bunny's eyes. I use my black sharpie pen to draw in the mouth and whiskers (these lines are already there, because it is part of the cut, you're simply "highlighting" these colors). I draw 3 lines on the smaller circles, these'll be the paws of my bunny.

When complete, and with paws in place, it'll look like this....

Now to attach to the basket. Place the adhesive to the box like this, and then add the head and bum to the other side.

After adhering the bum, I add a cotton ball to it.

I add some goodies to the inside of the basket to show how it looks with something in it.

Water Color Pencils: Rachelle Ann Miller Bears

Here are step-by-step photos on how I colored this image using water color pencils.

1) Stamp the image using black ink, I like to use Black Memento ink, the card stock I used is Grace Pacific (can be found @ Wal Mart - office section), also can be purchased in bulk from Sam's Club. I also show in this image the water blender pen that I'm going to use to blend my colors. Fill to it's desired content.

2) The pencil there is actually a water color pencil. I like to lay it in front of my image, like a "palette" and with the blender pen, I simply "grab" the color from the pencil (you can see that the color is on the tip of my brush.

3) I then color in the areas of which I would like the colors to be on my image.

4) When done with the choice of color, I simply clean off my brush tip by swiping it on to another piece of paper.

5) I then repeat steps 2-4 until I am done with my coloring of the entire image.

Here is the image all colored in. Now to decorate my card....

All done....

Coloring With Copics - Two Scoops Rice Designs Kokeshi Doll

I start off by outlining the edges of the her hair with 2 different colors E79 and E99 (1 light the other dark):

I apply those same colors to my palette - see where it shows E99 and E79 - I am using E50 to "lift" the colors to it's tip:

Go back to the image with the tip of E50 holding the color that I'm going to blend - E99 and then E79:

Completed blend will look like so:

I colored face with E50, and did some shading under hair line,a nd side of face. R27 for lips, earrings, and dress, 100 for her eyes. Image is completed.

Coloring With Copics - High Hopes' Froggy Gift

I colored the jump suit first, using a dark color blue (B05) n' a lighter blue (BG10) & blend:

Now the frog....
Now his shirt (notice how I always have 1 darker, and the other lighter), makes a better blend.

His hat:

Colored his skin with E50, and then added shadows with E33....

After blending, the shadow lines are less dominant, and now actually look like shadings instead!!

Did all the yellows in Y35 and Reds in R27 (didn't blend these)

The 3 colors I 1st work with....

Using E95, I colored her entire head of hair....
And I accidentally put a dot on her eyelid. But I leave it... because I will be able to cover it up later.
I then start coloring in some highlights into her ha
When done, it looks like this...
Then I take E95 again, and blend the dark in....
I think here, I realize that I didn't like the 1st dark color I chose - so I went with E09 for another look (love that Copics will blend away the old color, and bring in the NEW).....
Love this darker color ... and then again, blend with E95
No for her face... I start with E01 - here's where I feel like I'm applying makeup.
I color her entire face, and then shadow with E33 the parts where her bangs and hair is on her face.
You can see that E33 is a dominant line there.... so gotta blend it in, I use E01 to do the trick.... remember - small circular motions when blending in....
This pic shows that I'm almost done, already added the other colors. Her face just needs a little more blending.... as you can see, the "dot" mistake I did earlier, is already gone.... AND I've added a lil' mole to the right of her lips because she looks more sassy like that. Hah!!
Right here... it's all done n' ready for my project!!!

Mini Post It Note Cover

Stamp image...

Color image.... I used these copic colors:

Measure the notepad (3" x 4")"

Measure it's thickness using the Scor-Pal, I found 2 score lines that were about the width of the notepad.

Cut flap for the top (3" x 2-3/4") n' score 2 lines (the width of the notepad). This is the flap that will go over the top, and cover the "spine" of the notepad.

Cut 2 brown card stock pieces, 1 for back of notepad, and the other for the front. Add double stick tape in all the right places, and adhere.

Notepad is ready for some embellishments:

Embellished with Dew Drops, and Stickles..... n' my lil notepad creation is done!!!
