ASMA Phantasma - Un CL65 AMG de 725 CP

Atunci când vorbeşti de ASMA, te gândeşti la un stil agresiv. Un stil cu care de altfel, tunerul german deja ne-a obişnuit. Însă tocmai când credeam că am văzut totul ASMA ne arată Phantasma, un Mercedes CL65 AMG tunat.. în stilul ASMA.

Aşa cum se poate vedea şi în fotografii, cuvintele de ordine sunt fante de aer şi fibră de carbon. Din faţă, CL-ul este greu de recunoscut. Iar acest lucru se întâmplă din "cauza" noii grile frontale, a spoilerului şi a capotei, care împreună însumează una, două, ... multe fante de aer. În partea din spate, remarcăm atât noul spoiler, cât şi difuzorul de dimensiuni considerabile, realizat din fibră de carbon. Tot aici mai avem de punctat şi cele două eleroane, unul pentru plafon şi unul pentru portbagaj. Şi ca să încheiem cu exteriorul, mai specificăm şi pragurile laterale, extensiile penru aripi şi noile jante.

Probabil că acum vă veţi întreba şi ce se află sub capotă. Ceva la fel de impresionant ca şi exteriorul, vă răspundem noi. Mai exact, un V12 BiTurbo ce dezvoltă nu mai puţin de 725 cai putere şi 1.180 Nm! Astfel, avem o acceleraţie de la 0 la 100 km/h în doar 3.8 secunde şi o viteză maximă de 330 km/h. Şi încă ceva, modelul nu este doar o fantasmă...

335i cu specificaţii de M3

RDSport, un tuner ce se ocupă de modificarea modelelor BMW, a creat un 335i cu specificaţii apropiate de cele ale lui M3. Denumit RS35 Biturbo, noul model beneficiază de 414 cai putere şi 547 Nm. Pentru a se ajunge la aceste valori, a fost mărită presiunea în turbine şi s-au instalat o nouă admisie şi un intercooler mai mare.

Din punct de vedere estetic, coupe-ul german se remarcă printr-un nou body kit format dintr-un spoiler faţă, praguri laterale, difuzor spate şi eleron. De asemenea, modelul a primit şi o nouă evacuare, o suspensie mai joasă şi jante pe 20 inci încălţate cu pneuri Pirelli P Zero Nero. La interior modificările sunt minime şi includ o serie de accesorii din aluminiu.

Je Design modifică noul Seat Exeo

Nici bine nu a fost lansat pe piaţă şi iată că noul Seat Exeo a şi primit un prim pachet de tuning de la Je Design. Pentru prima limuzină de clasă medie din gama constructorului spaniol, tunerul german oferă o serie de modificări estetice dar şi tehnice.

La exterior, modelul Seat Exeo a primit un nou body kit ce include o grilă frontală fără logo (199 euro), un spoiler faţă (379 euro), praguri laterale (399 euro) şi un difuzor spate cu aspect de carbon (299 euro). Desigur, cei care doresc mai mult de atât nu au fost uitaţi şi pot opta pentru o evacuare cu patru tobe de eşapament (899 euro), arcuri sport ce coboară garda la sol cu 35 mm (219 euro) şi noi jante pe 18 sau 19 inci (de la 269 euro). Prin aceste accesorii, tunerul german Je Design afirmă că a transformat limuzina de clasă medie într-un model sportiv cu patru uşi.

FAB Design SLR "Desire" - 750 CP şi 1.080 Nm

Prin SLR "Desire", tunerul elveţian FAB Design a dorit să demonstreze încă o dată că poate modifica cu succes modele de lux.

Desigur, aspectul exterior nu va fi pe placul tuturor însă piesa de rezistenţă se află sub capotă... Aici, motorul V8 a fost serios modificat şi dezvoltă nu mai puţin de 750 cai putere şi 1.080 Nm. De la 626 cai putere şi 780 Nm. Astfel, FAB Design SLR "Desire" va fi unul dintre cele mai puternice SLR-uri. Iar acest aspect este scos în evidenţă şi de noua evacuare cu şase (exact, aţi văzut bine.. şase!!!) tobe de eşapament. Ca performanţe, avem de specificat acceleraţia de la 0 la 100 km/h în doar 3.6 secunde şi viteza maximă de 310 km/h. Dacă tot nu îţi satisface dorinţele, să vorbim despre design.

La exterior, supercarul german se remarcă în special prin partea frontală extrem de agresivă ce aduce a Batmobil. În spate avem un nou difuzor dar şi un eleron imens. Alte modificări includ o nouă suspensie, praguri laterale, extensii pentru aripi şi jante pe 20 inci încălţate cu pneuri Michelin 265/30 ZR 20 pe faţă şi 325/25 ZR 20 pe spate. La interior găsim piele neagră şi roşie.

Noul FAB Design SLR "Desire" va fi şi foarte exclusivist, urmând a fi fabricat într-o ediţie extrem de limitată, de doar 15 exemplare.

Audi TT-S by MCCHIP

Sunteţi gata de vară? Aţi comandat un Audi TT-S în detrimentul lui BMW Z4? Atunci ar trebui să ştiţi că cei de la MCCHIP sunt gata să vă modifice maşina.

În cazul în care doriţi mai mult de 272 cai putere, atât cât dezvoltă motorul 2.0 TFSI, tunerul german poate modifica ECU pentru suma de 849 Euro. Astfel, valorile maxime vor creşte până la 315 cai putere şi 440 Nm iar viteza maximă va fi de 275 km/h. Dacă tot nu este de ajuns puteţi apela la MTM, aceştia oferind până la 380 cai putere şi 494 Nm.

Însă să revenim la MCCHIP. Pe lângă creşterea de putere, tunerul german vă mai pune la dispoziţie (contra cost evident) şi o pereche de jante OZ pe 19 inci încălţate cu pneuri Continental SportContact 3. Preţul? 2.990 euro.

MTM modifică (din nou) Audi R8

După nişte experienţe ceva mai "ciudate" cu modele precum KTM X-Bow sau Spyker C8 Double 12 S, tunerul german se reîntoarce la Audi. La Audi R8, mai exact.

Mai întâi de toate, să vorbim despre exterior. Pentru că acest Audi R8 sare imediat în ochi. Iar acest lucru se datorează în mare măsură şi paintjobului a la Porsche 911 GT3. Un paintjob verde cu accente de negru ce se continuă şi la nivelul etrierelor sau jantelor, cu menţiunea că nuanţele au fost inversate. Tot la exterior avem şi un nou kit aerodinamic compus dintr-o prelungire pentru spoilerul faţă, praguri laterale şi un difuzor spate. În plus supercarul se poate lăuda acum şi cu un nou set de jante pe 20 inci.

Până acum, totul este bine şi frumos. Însă MTM nu s-ar mai numi MTM dacă nu ar opera şi o serie de modificări tehnice. Astfel, motorul V8 de 4.2 litri s-a ales cu un compresor şi dezvoltă acum nu mai puţin de 560 cai putere şi 580 Nm (de la 420 cai putere şi 430 Nm). De asemenea, avem şi un nou sistem de evacuare pentru un sunet mai... "adevărat". În plus, puteţi opta şi pentru aşa numitul "Lift-up-System", un sistem ce permite ridicarea părţii frontale şi cea spate cu 40 mm.

Printre tunerii care vor participa anul acesta la Essen Motor Show se numara si Marangoni, compania italiana urmand a prezenta M430 - o creatie ce are la baza noul Alfa Romeo Mi.To. Lucrand la versiunea 1.4 T-Jet, Marangoni a crescut puterea modelului italian pana la 220 cai putere - cu 65 cai putere mai mult decat versiunea standard. Modificarile estetice includ usi LSD, spoiler fata in genul lui Ferrari F430, difuzor spate si patru tevi de esapament. Si asta nu este tot: mai avem un paintjob in doua culori, o suspensie ce coboara garda la sol cu 40 mm si jante pe 18 inci incaltate cu pneuri rosii.

VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI "Need for Speed Undercover"

Divizia de personalizare a celor de la VW, Individual, a facut echipa cu cei de la Electronic Arts si impreuna au creat acest Scirocco "Need for Speed Undercover" ce va fi prezentat publicului la Essen Motor Show. Aceasta creatie are la baza versiunea 2.0 TSI si beneficiaza de un paintjob special. VW Individual a echipat modelul si cu jante negre pe 19 inci, pneuri Pirelli PZero 235/35 ZR19 si body kit format din prelungiri pentru spoilerele fata si spate, praguri laterale si eleron. Scirocco "Need for Speed Undercover" mai beneficiaza si de suspensie sport KW si discuri de frana pe 345mm, preluate de la Golf R32. La interior, modificarile sunt drastice: s-a renuntat la scaunele din spate, s-au montat doua monitoare pe 32 inci si doua pe 19 inci, trei console X-Box 360 si 8 difuzoare. Tot la interior gasim si logo-ul EA afisat pe tetiere si sigla Need for Speed Undercover montata pe volan. Vrei sa te joci?

Porsche Cayenne GTS by Je Design

Je Design ne-a obisnuit in ultima vreme sa modifice SEAT-uri, insa de aceasta data tunerul german a lasat deoparte modelele constructorului spaniol si a luat la mana un Porsche Cayenne GTS. Spre deosebire de Edo Competition, Je Design nu s-a atins si de motorul V8 ci s-a ocupat mai mult de aspect. Astfel tunerul german ofera pentru Cayenne GTS un kit aerodinamic format din prelungire pentru spoilerul fata, praguri laterale si prelungire pentru spoilerul spate. Bineinteles, LED-urile si evacuarea cu 4 tobe de esapament nu puteau lipsi din peisaj. Si pentru a face GTS-ul si mai sportiv decat este, JE Design a dotat SUV-ul german si cu un set de jante pe 22 inci si o suspensie ce coboara garda la sol cu 35 mm.

Se spune ca niste jante reusite pot schimba complet aspectul unei masini. Si acest lucru pare sa fie valabil si in cazul de fata. Tunerul german Hamann ofera acum jantele EDITION RACE si pentru modelul Maserati GranTurismo, acestea venind cu urmatoarele dimensiuni: 9.0Jx21 cu pneuri 245/30ZR21 (pe fata) si 12.5Jx21 cu pneuri 345/45ZR21 (pe spate).

Pentru cea mai noua creatie a sa, tunerul german Edo Competition a lasat deoparte supercarurile si a modificat un SUV. Un Porsche Cayenne GTS, mai exact.

Desi Cayenne GTS beneficiaza in standard de 405 cai putere, cei de la Edo Competition au considerat ca este nevoie de o imbunatatire si au ridicat puterea motorului V8 pana la 450 cai putere si 530 Nm. Cifrele vorbesc de la sine: acceleratie de la 0 la 100 km/h in 6.4 secunde si viteza maxima de 270 km/h. Pentru a obtine aceste valori, Edo Competition a instalat un nou filtru de aer, noi catalizatoare si a modificat ECU. Desigur, tunerul german nu s-a oprit aici si a dotat SUV-ul si cu un sistem performant de franare si o suspensie sport ajustabila. In final, modificarile tehnice sunt completate de cele exterioare ce includ o noua capota, o prelungire pentru spoilerul fata si un set de jante pe 22 inci.

Astazi avem parte de o surpriza majora din partea celor de la Brabus. Cunoscutul tuner german ce se ocupa de modelele Mercedes a lansat un pachet de tuning pentru o masina electrica, Tesla Roadster. Si nu, Brabus nu a imbunatatit si performantele masinii ci s-a concentrat pe modificarea exteriorului si interiorului. Astfel, exteriorul masinii a primit un kit aerodinamic, LED-uri, jante din aliaj pe 18 inci pe fata si 19 inci pe spate, pneuri Pirelli P-Zero 215/35 ZR 18 pe fata si 255/30 ZR 19 pe spate si o culoare alba mata. Pentru cei care doresc mai multa putere si sportivitate de la noul Volvo XC60, tunerul german Heico Sportiv vine cu un pachet de tuning pentru acesta. Porsche 911 GT2 by 9ff

Cu cei 530 cai putere si 680 Nm, 911 GT2 este unul dintre cele mai performante modele pe care le ofera Porsche in prezent. Insa chiar si asa, tunerul 9ff a decis sa modifice supercarul german. Printre imbunatatirile aduse acestuia se numara turbochargere-le V670, sistemul de admisie, catalizatoarele sport si sistemul de evacuare. Rezultatul? Motorul bi-turbo de 3.6 litri dezvolta acum nu mai putin de 670 cai putere si 800 Nm, adica cu 140 cai putere si 120 Nm mai mult decat versiunea standard. Cifrele finale sunt urmatoarele: 0-100 k/h in 3.6 secunde, 0-200 km/h in 9.8 secunde si 0-300 km/h in 25.8 secunde.

2009 Pontiac G8 GXP - Autoclip

Pontiac's growing GXP lineup has just gained a flagship. The enthusiast division will show a higher-performing G8 at the 2008 New York auto show.
The baddest Holden-turned-Pontiac gets GM's 6.2-liter LS3 small-block V-8, producing 402 hp and 402 lb-ft of torque - 41 hp and 17 lb-ft more than the L76-powered G8 GT. Pontiac predicts a 0-to-60-mph time of 4.7 seconds, with the quarter mile taking 13.0 seconds at 108 mph.
The GXP comes with the six-speed automatic transmission found in the G8 GT but adds a three-pedal option with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual. A limited-slip differential is standard, as are Brembo brakes.
Exterior changes are subtle and include revised front and rear fascias. Nineteen-inch polished and machined aluminum wheels are tucked neatly under the G8's flared fenders. Inside, passengers will be greeted by bolstered GXP-embroidered seats.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but we expect the GXP to come in right around $35k. For those looking for less power and a similar reduction in weight, Pontiac is also showing a G8 sport truck in New York that will arrive for the 2010 model year.

Peugeot 308 CC whether the roof is open or closed

Peugeot has really gone to town with its new 308 CC, which has a sleek, flowing profile whether the roof is open or closed, the new model will electronically transform from a sporty coupe into a stylish convertible in 20 seconds at the press of a button.
Taking some its design elements from the 308 RC Z concept, revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show, the new Peugeot 308 convertible will incorporate a range of new luxury features.
Borrowing the 'air scarf' idea pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, the new Peugeot 308 CC can gently direct warm air from the heater system through vents in the front seat headrests to warm the necks and shoulders of front seat occupants.
Peugeot's Airwave system "acts like a scarf by diffusing warm air adjustable for temperature, flow and direction around the occupant's shoulders/neck" states the French car maker.
The front end design has a keen sports edge to it that bears a slightly modified version of the Peugeot 308 hatchback's visage, while the rear end continues the sporty treatment with a subtle rear diffuser, stylised LED brake light pattern, and a small lip spoiler.
It's perhaps inside the vehicle, however, that will be of most interest to potential buyers, as the Peugeot 308 CC boasts a plethora of luxury features.
As well as promising "rear accommodation that is surprisingly generous for a cabriolet" the new 308 CC features 'integral leather' interior trim, generous leather sports seats, climate control, rain sensing wipers, and even the "automatic remote-control locking of interior storage compartments" such as the glove box and central armest - useful if the roof is down and you need to grab something from the shops.

The car is wider than previously which increases interior room, and the boot offers a very decent 465 litres of space (266 litres with the roof folded down), which will allow for leisure pursuits such as golfing or fishing.
Peugeot has confirmed that it's working on developing a range of high end audio-visual and communication systems in time for the new model's release, including MP3 CD audio, USB Box, iPod, MP3 connectivity, hands-free phone kit, Satellite navigation system with a MP3 CD audio, 30GB hard disc with juke box function, integral mobile phone, Bluetooth functionality, USB connector, retractable, high-resolution 7-inch 16/9 colour screen with a 3D display, JBL Hi-fi option with 10 speakers
Power will initially come from a newly developed turbo diesel engine that meets stringent Euro V emissions standards. The 2.0-litre HDi engine outputs 104 kilowatts of power (140hp) and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox (though automatic transmissions are expected down the track).
Safety systems have been extended and along with ESP, ABS and other stability increasing driving aids, and there's now a full suite of airbags. This includes "chest/pelvis side airbags built into the front seats and a side head airbag which is a world first, guaranteeing effective protection of all parts of the body regardless of seat position" states Peugeot. There's also active roll bars, that deploy in the event of a roll-over.

2009 Honda FCX Clarity Fuel-Cell

Honda has actually applied the FCX badge to several vehicles. The outgoing model is a chunky-looking Japanese hatchback. The new edition is decidedly more stylish - and roomy. Honda has learned a valuable lesson from its Japanese rival, Toyota , whose Prius is a distinctive visual standout.

The Honda FCX Clarity takes the layout and design themes first seen in two years ago in the FCX concept to completion.

While facilities for retail distribution of hydrogen are obviously extremely limited right now, Honda is actively working to change that too. Honda Soltec recently started production of new photo-voltaic cells that only require half the energy input to manufacture of current cells. Their Torrance, CA headquarters campus has a hydrogen filling station that features two different H2 generators. A solar powered electrolyzer produces the gas from water, while the experimental Home Energy Station has a natural gas reformer.

With the most common way of producing hydrogen right new is steam reformation of natural gas, CO2 emissions still remain a concern. However, when well-to-wheels CO2 emissions are evaluated in comparison to gasoline engines, steam reformation and fuel cells show a sixty percent reduction. For solar powered electrolysis, Honda has proton exchange membrane electrolyzer that basically functions as a fuel cell in reverse and is eighty percent efficient. Although home hydrogen generation is still a ways off, centrally produced hydrogen is being distributed via pipelines right now. Shell will open be opening a hydrogen station in Los Angeles next year right on an existing 8" hydrogen pipeline.

Exterior Design Leader Masaru Hosagawa explained that the body of the new FCX was specifically designed to highlight the tiny drive-train that propels this relatively large car. The FCX takes the cab forward design ethos to a whole new level with the base of the windshield starting at about the front wheel center line and sweeping all the way back to the edge of the trunk lid in a continuous curve dubbed Dynamic Full Cabin Design. Combined with the super compact vertical flow fuel cell stack that sits within the center console, the FCX has an almost limousine-like interior volume for four passengers.

Speaking of the passengers, keeping them in climate-controlled comfort is important but regulating the temperature of such a large interior volume can consume quite a bit of energy. One way to minimize that energy is to regulate the temperature right at the surface of the occupants. Since the largest point of contact between the passengers and the car is the seats, Honda has chosen to provide a climate control system within the seats. Fans draw air into the front seats where a thermo-electric device chills or heats it before blowing it through pores in the seat cushions. The end result is greatly reduced demand on the climate control system.

The FCX Clarity has remained remarkably true to the concept with the most obvious visual difference being the nose. The production car has been stretched out by a few inches in order to provide crush space for crash protection. The grille has now been moved above a new chrome bumper strip taking the place of the previous full-width light bar. In profile the base of the windshield extended even farther forward and the front quarter windows were part of the body. Those windows are now smaller and integrated into the doors instead. At the back, the full width tail-lamp cluster is now slimmer in the middle providing room for an extra piece of vertical glass aiding rear visibility with the high deck.

That tall deck combines with a fuel tank mounted down low between the rear wheels to provide for much more trunk room than other converted fuel cell cars. Including the under floor compartment, the total storage volume is 13.1 cu. ft. The fully-appointed FCX is equipped with all the modern conveniences such as a satellite navigation system, adaptive cruise control, electronic stability control. All of this is combined in an aluminum structural cage that provides protection for the passengers and the fuel system.

The FCX platform as having been designed to be lightweight while providing maximum safety. The FCX is designed to meet and surpass all safety standards in the US and elsewhere. When this car becomes available next year, it won't require any safety waivers. The 5,000 psi hydrogen tank is designed to withstand any impact it might see in the real world. While the first generation FCX used a two tank storage system, the new car has switched to a single-tank setup. Previously separate components like the pressure sensor, regulator and shut-off valve are now combined in one module mounted in the tank.
Having only one tank means fewer connection points that can fail so that safety is enhanced and installation is a lot simpler. A single larger diameter tank has greater capacity in less overall space than two smaller tanks. The bottom line is seventy-four percent fewer parts and twenty-four percent better storage efficiency.

One problematic aspect of many previous fuel cell vehicles has been high weight. The Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell being used for that company's Project Driveway weighs over 4,400 pounds and the Sequel concept reportedly weighs over 5,000 lbs. Even the much smaller Ford Focus FCV weighs in at 3,600 lbs. The new FCX Clarity weighs in at 3,582 lbs, which is only about 175 lbs more than the similarly-sized 2008 Accord. Doing a ground up design around a fuel cell power-train has allowed Honda to optimize it for the purpose.

The FCX is extremely well-equipped, overall, with niceties such as dual-zone digital climate control, adaptive (radar) cruise control, voice-activated navigation, and a sweet AM/FM/CD/XM audio system with a jack for your iPod or MP3 player.

That pays off in the ride and handling of the Clarity. While some other cross-over type fuel cell vehicles definitely feel more truck like on the road, this car is pure Honda. The FCX Clarity will be available for lease to retail customers beginning in the summer of 2008.

2009 BMW 7 Series The Luxury Sedan

Sweeping across the Web have been what appear to be leaked official images of the upcoming 2009 BMW 7 Series luxury sedan due out later this year after its official bow at the 2008 Paris Motor Show this October.
The images snagged from the German automaker portray the exterior from all angles and show off the car's new 6 Series-like front end appearance with rounder headlight housings and more prominent signature kidney grilles. The controversial "whale tale" of the current E65/66 has been smoothed out significantly into a rear end reminiscent of its smaller E90/92 3 Series sibling.
Interior pictures highlight the big sedan's next generation iDrive featuring in-car internet access via ConnectedDrive and rear passenger entertainment system. A three-spoke steering wheel complete with multiple cabin controls is completely new on the upcoming model as well.
Details regarding the car's engine options are still vague, but expect BMW's 4.4-liter twin turbo V-8 first seen in the X6 and the 3.0-liter twin turbo six that has been making its way around the BMW lineup. There is even talk of a hybrid 7 Series, although there is no indication if the car will debut this year or later in its run. A diesel is also a possibility.

We previously reported that mated to the engines will eventually be an eight-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF specifically for the car that aims to improve fuel economy and improve overall ride quality, although a seven-speed unit will probably be on board at launch
