Pushpa 2 controversy, makers delete this song

The makers of Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule have come under fire for the controversial lyrics of the song Dammunte Pattukora. Following the backlash, the track has been removed from all social media platforms and YouTube.

Sung by Allu Arjun, Dammunte Pattukora was released on YouTube on Tuesday, December 24.

The song portrays a heated confrontation between Pushpa (Allu Arjun) and Inspector Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

Lyrics like Pattukonte vodilestha syndicate (If you catch me, I'll leave the syndicate) and Dammunte pattukora Shekhawat (If you have the courage, catch me, Shekhawat!) highlight Pushpa Raj's unwavering defiance as he promises to return to the jungle as a laborer if caught.

While the fans liked Dammunte Pattukora, the bold lyrics and the timing of its release sparked debate. A section of the audience wondered if the track was a jibe at the police by Allu Arjun, who is embroiled in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case.

ICYDK: On December 4, Allu Arjun's "unscheduled" visit to the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad triggered a stampede resulting in the death of a woman. Her nine-year-old son also suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Days later, Allu Arjun was arrested from his Jubilee Hills residence in connection to the case. The actor was sent to 14-day judicial custody but was granted interim bail for four weeks, hours after his arrest.

Meanwhile, despite the controversies, Pushpa 2 is running successfully in theatres. Released on December 5, the film has completed 21 days at the box office. As of now, Pushpa 2 has made over Rs 1100 crore in India becoming the highest-grossing film of the year.

New Delhi: A huge popular freelance radio jockey from Jammu Kashmir with nearly seven lakh followers on instagram has died by suicide in Guru gram .

Her body was found in her rented Gurugram sector 47 apartment, the police said adding a friend who was staying with her called the police.

The popular RJ from Jammu and Kashmir had 682,000 followers on instagram. Her last post on instagram was a reel on December 13 which was quickly flooded with comments by fans shocked by her sudden death.

Sharing her plans for the festival of lights, Fatima Sana Shaikh told ETimes, “ Main Diwali toh har saal friends ya family ke saath hi bitati hoon. I don’t burst crackers. But the 49th one turns out to be a bouncer in his life. ‘Duduwala’ (the writers' words, not ours) Suraj Singh Dhillon (Diljit Dosanjh) is 28 and that one time he tries to model his life on the bad boys of Bollywood, Rane catches him off-guard and desperate Dhillon is now without a bride… yet again! ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari’ chronicles the clash of these two men-children, and it is mad fun!

REVIEW: When Gurunam Singh Dhillon (Manoj Phawa) had taken the leap of faith and shifted base to Bombay from Punjab – with the hopes of making it big in the city – he not only married the love of his life (Seema Bhargava), but also inherited 22 buffaloes. Cut to 1995, Papa Dhillon now has everything he had ever hoped for and has built Jai Matarani Doondh Bhandar with love, dahi and lots of paneer (brace yourselves: there’s a lot of dairy reference in the movie for all you lactose-intolerant peeps). But one characteristic trait that he could not hand down to his only son, Suraj Singh Dhillon (Diljit Dosanjh), is his innate ability to win over girls. So when the greedy pundit brings home the kundali of an English-speaking, shorts-donning girl from Bhandup, the entire Dhillon clan jumps with excitement. Not so soon; a little someone stinks of ghee and must be warded off for good. Multiple rejections later, Suraj’s bestie Sukhi, who only mimics Amitabh Bachchan from his angry young man phase, suggests he be the baddie that girls usually hanker after. So when a prospect finally gives her nod, he loses that last flickering hope to a set of photos of him chugging beer.

Who has defamed him and the family? And, most importantly, which ‘bharatiya naari’ is going to marry him now? Suraj refuses to dusk away and he must now be avenged. The culprit: self-proclaimed wedding detective with an impressive repertoire of 48 exposés, Madhu Mangal Rane, is oblivious to his dubious plans though. What happens when these two metaphor-tossing ego maniacs clash, and who’s to lose what here? ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari’ takes a dig at the concept of arranged marriages and all the snooping around that happens within the families for that ‘one achha ladka/ladki’, and, guess what, we are laughing!

Dressed in a nauvari saree, nath and exuding a certain charm that can easily be mistaken for a local hottie, Manoj Bajpayee is hilarious as the lame undercover wedding detective, gossip-monging at a local temple in his opening scene. The jokes are hyper-local, and the attitude, all too relatable. A little later, an equally funny and seasoned humourist joins the frame, Annu Kapoor as Kaka – a family friend and a business liability whose only contribution is that he had once helped Rane’s deceased father with 1200 rupees. The two feed off each other’s energies and their comic timing is impeccable, especially when they bicker over bills and biryanis. Fatima Sana Shaikh is Turshi Rane (Turshi, not Tulsi): a ‘gharelu ladki’ by the day and a closeted DJ by the night; she is attractive and a satisfying chameleon – demure when the situation demands, rebellious when the going gets difficult. What takes this movie notches higher is Diljit’s excellent dialogue delivery and his comic timing. Something as cheesy as, “kya kar rahin hai, butter hands?” or “first sight mein, torch light pe, mujhe tumse pyaar hogaya” would have been a tricky one for a lot of actors, but he charms in the flashiest of scenes and makes one chuckle, knowing full well the joke is stale. His camaraderie with Sukhi and the squabble with Bajpayee are what keep the momentum of the film racing at a thundering speed; the first half in particular. But ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari’ is brainless comedy (not being condescending here), and not everything is meant to add up.

Right from the very start, it is glaringly obvious that the writers – Shokhi Banerjee, Rohan Shankar and Rohan Shankar – are heavily invested in getting the nitty-gritties of the respective acts right and each of the characters has been given distinct personalities and pull-backs. What milk is to Suraj, marriage is to Rane. You will find out why we say so. The celebration of cultures and their blending in together is one that deserves a shout-out, especially in that scene when a group of turban-wearing orchestra performers sing a Marathi wedding song.

The first-half is a visual essay of the lives of Dhillons and Ranes, with so many characters and situations popping in and out of the sequences, but the second-half, especially the ending, feels rushed with a predictable climax. That needed polishing.

Kingshuk Chakravarty and Javed-Mohsin have compiled an amazing collection of songs – if ‘Basanti’ will be remembered for Karishma Tanna, then ‘Ladki Dramebaaz Hai’ and ‘Bad Boys’ will be played on loop for the high-octane music. The set design, however, was a bit of a downer. Except for the incorporation of the Frankfurt Bauhaus telephone, long queues outside of a P.C.O booth and a pager to sort of remind us that it’s still the mid-90s, the film has a very in-the-moment feel to it. Also, Jia Bhagia and Mallika Chauhan could have gone more retro with the styling for Diljit and Fatima; it is preposterous that the duo's hanging out in bomber jackets and corset crop tops from a time when Mumbai used to be Bombay.

All said and done, ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari’ is a witty satire – on the gori-kaali hangover, what qualifies as good or bad behaviour in today’s world and how little soothsayers know about marriages. Hop on and join in in the tug of war!

She often treats them with amazing posts on her Instagram handle. The actress has shared a powerful post on Instagram and announced her comeback in Bollywood.

She was last seen in the 2010 film ‘Apartment’ and since then she moved to the US and took a break from Bollywood. In her post, Tanushree mentioned that she lost her way a little due to some ‘very bad human beings and the trouble they caused’ but she wants to now reconsider her acting career.

The actress also shared a stunning picture of herself and revealed she has lost 15 kgs to get back in shape. Her post read, “Some old news doing the rounds that I'm doing an IT job in LA. I was infact training for in IT and had a fantastic IT job opportunity in the defence sector of the US Government. It was a very prestigious job opportunity as I have always had the discipline, integrity and determination of an army person so to work in this field in whatever capacity would have been an honour. But I didn't take it as I wanted to explore my artistic career again. The defence job based out of Nevada would eventually after the Pandemic would need me to shift out of LA/ NY and I would not be permitted to leave the US for 3 years. I would also have to sign a job contract for 3 years coz such national defence related US jobs usually have very high security clearance and permissions so they cannot have people in and out of employment. Since I'm an artist at heart who just happened to lose my way away from my craft due to some very very bad human beings and the trouble they caused me, i decided to not be hasty in changing my profession and re-consider what options I have in Bollywood. I have a lot of goodwill in Bollywood and Mumbai so I came back to India and will stay here for sometime and will work on some interesting projects.”

Her post further read, “I have been getting some offers from Bollywood in terms of movies and web series and the Industry seems far more interested in casting me rather than my arch- enemies.( they only announce projects but none of their projects ever see the light of day & will not).At present I'm in touch with 3 big South film managers who are pitching me for Big budget south Projects as well as 12 Casting offices in Mumbai. There are powerfull Industry bigwigs who are giving me silent support in the background as they know the truth and are my wellwishers. There are also big production houses I'm talking to for projects in lead roles. The pandemic has just made shooting dates uncertain so I'm unable to make a concrete announcement. I recently shot a commercial advertisement in the beauty space and announced that I'm back to work. I'm looking good, getting back my sass as I've lost 15 kgs and there is a strong buzz amongst industry folks of my imminent return to acting! #

Actress Divya Agarwal's Father Dies Of COVID-19. All celebs pay Tributes

New Delhi: Television actress Divya Agarwal's father died of COVID-19 on Wednesday. He had tested positive for the virus earlier this month and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Announcing the news on social media, Divya Agarwal shared a picture of herself and her father and wrote: "You are always with me... I love you, Papa... RIP." Several celebrities from film and television industry, including producer Ekta Kapoor, actress Esha Gupta, TV stars Shruti Sinha, Shweta Mehta and Priyanka Udhwani, condoled the death of Divya's father in the comments section of her post. Divya Agarwal's boyfriend, actor Varun Sood, also shared an emotional post for her father on his Instagram account.

On Tuesday, Divya Agarwal shared a post urging her fans to pray for her father's health. "I request everyone to pray for my dad dil se at 5 pm... a collective force of prayer will be really helpful...Mujhe nahi pata kitne beliefs hote hai... I know there's god. Please pray to god... In one of her previous posts, Divya shared that first, her brother Prince tested positive for COVID-19, followed by her parents. She revealed that her father was immediately admitted to a hospital as he had a heart ailment. He was later moved to the intensive care unit. Almost a week ago, Divya shared a family photo and wrote about his father's condition. "In this battle of life.. my dad has always taught me to be strong... I'm hell of a strong daughter and will prove it to life that no matter how bad it is... I'm going to face you with love and believe in god. My dad needs a lot of prayers...I'll fight this," read an excerpt from her post.

Sharddha Kapoor is all set to be seen as a naagin, a shape-shifting snake, in a new Bollywood project. Films about naagin are something of an institution in the Hindi industry, with actors ranging from Reena Roy to Rekha to Sridevi playing the character with various degrees of success. Sridevi’s Nagin and Nigahein established her in the industry, with some of their chartbusters remembered till today.

The new naagin films will be made as a trilogy and will essentially be a love story. The film will be directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Nikhil Dwivedi. The trilogy will marry Indian folklore with CGI to cater to the Indian audience. Furia is known for his Marathi film Lapachhapi; he is also directing the Hindi remake of the film, titled Choori.

Shraddha shared on Twitter, “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a nagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore. It’s like playing an iconic character, which has always been so fascinating for the audience.”

To be made under the banner of Saffron Broadcast & Media Ltd, naagin’s release date is yet to be decided. Makers are yet to share the rest of the cast of the film.

Shraddha was last seen in 2020’s Baaghi 3 opposite Tiger Shroff. She also played a woman with supernatural powers in Stree. Her filmography includes Saaho, Street Dancer 3D, OK Jaanu, Hassena Parker, Chhichhore.

There has been much conjecture about the Bigg Boss 14 wild card contestants but a new leaked video shows that television actors Kavita Kaushik and Naina Singh will enter the show this weekend. In a new promo for the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode hosted by Salman Khan, the two are seen battling each other in a fierce dance-off.

Naina makes a smashing entry to the song Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo, dressed in a silver strapless dress. Kavita, too, is seen dancing to the same song. She is seen wearing a white long-sleeved dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. The song then changes to Laila Main Laila, and the two are seen walking towards each other and busting out competing moves.

Kavita has been in the television industry for nearly two decades and is best remembered for playing Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala in the comedy show FIR. Naina, on the other hand, won the dating reality show Splitsvilla 10 in 2017. She was most recently seen as Rhea Mehra in Kumkum Bhagya but quit the show earlier this year.

According to reports, another wild card contestant is set to enter Bigg Boss 14 with Kavita and Naina. However, Colors has kept the identity of the third contestant under wraps for now.

Bigg Boss 14 has been living up to its theme - ‘ab scene paltega (the scene will change now)’. There have been a number of surprises on the show, from the presence of ‘seniors’ Sidharth Shukla, Hina Khan and Gauahar Khan in the Bigg Boss house to contestants having to fight it out for the ‘confirmed’ status.

Earlier this week, the ‘seniors’ exited Bigg Boss 14 after a two-week stint on the show. Two contestants from the show - Sara Gurpal and Shehzad Deol - have been evicted so far.

Actors Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Karisma Kapoor took to social media to share birthday wishes for Isha and Akash Ambani, who turned 29 on Friday.

Priyanka shared a picture from a party, and wrote, “Happy birthday my Ishuuuu… to many more happy times together. Keep Smiling.” Alia shared a picture of Isha and Akash together, and wrote, “Happy birthday Isha and Akash. Wishing you double the happiness and love, today and everyday.”

The twins’ aunt, Tina Ambani, also extended her best wishes in an Instagram post. She wrote, “Akash, from an utterly adorable child to a warm, loving, responsible young man, it’s been wonderful to see your journey. You make us all very proud. Isha, it’s incredible to see our naughty daughter in pigtails evolve into a woman of such substance and poise.”

Both Akash and Isha recently got married -- while Isha tied the knot with Anand Piramal in 2018, Akash married Shloka Mehta in 2019.

Priyanka is a regular fixture at Isha’s events. Just before the coronavirus lockdown, Priyanka and her husband, Nick Jonas, had a blast at Isha’s Holi party. Priyanka and Nick also attended Isha and Anand’s wedding festivities at Lake Como

On Monday, Star Plus released the first teaser of Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2. Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who played the iconic role of Gopi Bahu (after Gia Manek), has returned to launch the new season.

The recent Kokilaben video brought back Saath Nibhana Saathiya memories for many. In the teaser, Devoleena Bhattacharjee is seen smartly referring to ‘rasode’ and ‘cooker’, words that have become popular after the viral video.

The 30-second teaser opens with Gopi (Bhattacharjee), dressed in a pink saree, greeting her viewers. She then says that Gehna must have put the cooker on the gas in the rasoda (kitchen). Gopi then informs the audience that Gehna surprises as well as shocks her sometimes with her little gestures. Towards the end, she says that the big revelation of who is Gehna will happen soon.

A source earlier shared with indianexpress.com that the serial will be completely different from its past season. However, to help people connect with the new offering, the popular characters of Gopi and Kokila (Rupal Patel) will be brought in to introduce the new chapter. The show will reportedly go on floors by mid-September.

“The storyline will be completely different from Saath Nibhana Saathiya, but the core of a love story, amid a family drama, will remain. The makers have been aggressively reaching out to people for the roles. Devoleena and Rupal will also be seen in the first few episodes. We are still working on the script, and they might keep coming back later in the show. The show will mostly go on air in October,” added the source.

While the second season of Saath Nibhana Saathiya had been in the pipeline for a long time, the virality of the Kokilaben video made the makers prepone the launch.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya presented the story of Kokilaben who gets her businessman son Ahem (Md Nazim) married to an uneducated Gopi, as she feels the latter can keep the family together. During the long run of the serial, Gopi went through numerous obstacles as she tried her best to win her husband’s heart. She also educates herself to eventually become the matriarch of the Modi household. The show also starred Rucha Hasabnis, Vishal Singh, Tanya Sharma, Sonam Lamba, Vandana Vithlani, Lovey Sasan among others.

2020 has turned out to be the worst year for everyone. Sanjivani 2 actor Gaurav Chopra is going through a hard phase. The actor's mother, who was suffering from cancer from the past three years, passed away on August 19. She was tested positive for COVID-19 and that affected her health further. Now, Gaurav Chopra's father Swatantra Chopra has also passed away. His father passed away just 10 days after his mother's demise. Gaurav Chopra has penned down an emotional note for his father.

The actor has been hosting the show for 10 seasons and this would mark his 11th year. However, reports are doing the rounds that many are boycotting the show and do not want Salman to see as a host. Teasers of the show featuring Salman and shoot scenes with Salman proof otherwise.

The reality show, which was earlier supposed to go on-air in September has now been postponed for a month. Sources close to ETimes TV shared that the show will now go on-air from October 4. Reports of the show being postponed because of monsoon are untrue. But according to ETimes TV's report, the set is absolutely ready and all the major work has been finished. However, the release date is not yet confirmed

Many celebrity names have cropped up, who are supposedly a part of the show. Celebs like Zain Imam, Vivian D'Sena, Zaan Khan, Sugandha Mishra and Nishant Malkani are reportedly going inside the house. However, while some have maintained a staunch silence, some have clearly denied being a part of the show.

MUMBAI: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's building has been sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as a precautionary measure amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 90-year-old singer resides in Prabhukunj building at Peddar Road in south Mumbai.

The Mangeshkar family, in a statement, said the building was sealed as it houses many senior citizens.

"We have been inundated by calls all evening enquiring whether Prabhukunj is sealed. The Building Society and the BMC have sealed it from the onset of the epidemic as we have senior citizens at home and in the building and it is mandatory to take these precautions.

"Even our usual festive Ganesha celebrations was a simple familial one this time to co-operate and support social distancing," the statement read.

There were reports that some residents of the building had tested positive for COVID-19 but the family asked well-wishers to not indulge in any speculations.

"Please do not react to any hearsay on the health of our family members especially. We, as a building society in unison, are taking utmost caution, care and co-operating to ensure the well being and safety of all the senior citizens especially and all the other residing members as well.

"By God's grace and the wishes of so many, the family is safe," the statement read.

On Saturday, coronavirus case tally in Maharashtra rose to 7,64,281 with record 16,867 new cases.

An excited Malaika Arora who met her family after five long months, shared pictures from their celebrations together. Malaika posted pictures from her family lunch with sister Amrita Arora and their mother Joyce Arora. Amrita's husband Shakeel Ladak and their kids Azaan and Rayaan also joined the family for the special lunch. Sharing pictures from the lunch, Malaika Arora wrote in her post: "Our table is set....and finally after over 5 months we all are together at my parent's home on this very auspicious day of Onam. Thank you mom for this lovely spread. Onam Sadya."

Meanwhile, Amrita Arora posted a picture with sister Malaika and mom Joyce Arora and she wrote: "Happy Onam. Was indeed an amazing family day at my parents after 5 months. Mom, you have outdone yourself."

Sadak 2, starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, has started streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. The romantic drama is helmed by veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt who has taken the director’s chair after 19 years. The film is a sequel to 1991 hit film Sadak, which chronicled the love story of a taxi driver Ravi, played by Sanjay Dutt, and a sex worker Pooja (Pooja Bhatt). Ravi helps Pooja to escape the world of the brothel, and the two decide to live together forever. The film’s music album, which boasted of melodies like “Tumhein Apna Banaane Ki”, “Hum Tere Bin Kahi Reh”, “Rehne Ko Ghar Nahi” and others, became a hit among music lovers and is still loved by many.

This is the first time that Mahesh Bhatt has collaborated with daughter Alia Bhatt for a movie. Around the announcement of Sadak 2, Alia had expressed her excitement of being directed by her father and called the film “a dream come true”. The film also marks Pooja Bhatt’s return to films almost after two decades. She has earlier worked with her father Mahesh Bhatt in films like Daddy, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Sir and Zakhm.

Sadak 2 seems to be a revenge story where Alia’s character is seeking revenge from a godman played by Makarand Deshpande. She is assisted by Dutt, who is reprising his role of a taxi driver from the original 1991 release, and her lover, played by Aditya Roy Kapur. Produced by Vishesh Films, it also stars Jisshu Sengupta in a significant part.

The film was set to have a theatrical release in March 2020, but got delayed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country. Later, the makers decided to release the film digitally on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films had earlier said, “My gladiator Mahesh Bhatt is back to perform in the arena once again. Sanjay Dutt and him have a magical past and they share a bond which is beyond professional understanding. With Alia coming on board, Pooja being there and my daughter Sakshi, who is the co-producer of the film – The three sisters will be seen performing important roles. Dancer and actor Punit Pathak got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Nidhi Moony Singh, on Wednesday. He took to his Instagram page to share pictures from his engagement ceremony and called it the ‘beginning of always’

“To the beginning of ALWAYS! I sixth sense you @nidhimoonysingh. PC : @tanmayechaudhary. #ENGAGED,” he wrote in the caption of his posts.

In the pictures, Punit is seen wearing a green floral print kurta with beige pyjamas, while Nidhi is dressed in a yellow and red saree. The two of them are seen smiling for the camera, as they show off their engagement rings.

Congratulatory messages poured in for the happy couple. Choreographer Terence Lewis commented, “So happy for you two! Congrats Punit! Stay blessed!” Actor Varun Dhawan, who worked with Punit in ABCD 2 and Street Dancer 3D, dropped heart emojis on the post. Singer and television host Aditya Narayan wrote, “Arre arre! Congratulations,” followed by a number of heart emojis. Others, including actors Mouni Roy, Esha Gupta and Gauahar Khan, also wished them.

Punit came in the spotlight with the second season of reality show Dance India Dance, in which he was the second runner-up. He was a choreographer for several seasons of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and has also been a part of other dance reality shows including Dance Plus, Dance Champions and India’s Next Superstars. Last year, he participated in the adventure reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, and emerged as the winner.

In 2013, Punit made his Bollywood debut with Remo D’Souza’s ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. He has also acted in ABCD 2 and Nawabzaade. His most recent release was Street Dancer 3D, in which he played Varun’s elder brother and a dancer, who gets injured during a dance battle and is left bedridden. The film also starred Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhudeva, Nora Fatehi and Raghav Juyal.

Meanwhile, Kareena and Saif recently took the internet by storm with their second baby announcement. Just like during her first pregnancy, Bebo will be continuing working during her second pregnancy too. The actress is expected to wrap the shooting of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ with Aamir Khan in the coming months. A source recently informed ETimes, "Since Bebo’s baby bump is visible, it will be concealed using VFX. She has 100 days of shoot left and is expected to join the team in September-October to wrap her portions."

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is an official remake of Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’. Aamir will be essaying the titular role in this film that will be directed by Advait Chandan. The film will be released on Christmas 2021

Post her last release 'Zero' in 2018, Anushka Sharma had not announced any new venture, leading to speculations that the actress was in the family way.
