FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 4, 2013– Trott & Trott, P.C. (Trott), a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, joined with NDeX Michigan (NDeX), a leading provider of technology and processing services for law firms, to support the American Cancer Society through their participation in the Farmington Hills Relay For Life. Trott Managing Partner Jeffrey Raff made the announcement.

The Farmington Hills Relay For Life took place over 24 hours on Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19 in Shiawassee Park. A total of 47 employees and three co-captains, along with their family and friends, participated on “The TFC Trotters” Relay For Life team, each donating a minimum of four hours of their time, for a total of 188 hours contributed.

In total, through employee contributions and a company contribution from Trott and NDeX, The TFC Trotters raised more than $9,200 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

“We have participated in Relay for Life for five years, during which time Trott and NDeX employees have continued to show their generosity by raising an amazing $52,400 for the fight against cancer,” said Raff. “This year, we are proud to have contributed to the record-breaking fundraising effort for our local Relay for Life initiative, with the community as a whole donating more than $109,000.”

The Relay for Life initiative is a part of Trott and NDeX’s yearlong corporate giving program, which previously benefited other local charities, including Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, Oakland Family Services and Starfish Family Services.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 11, 2013 – Trott & Trott, P.C. (Trott), a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, joined with NDeX Michigan (NDeX), a leading provider of technology and processing services for law firms, to donate its services to the local nonprofit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Trott Managing Partner Jeffrey Raff made the announcement.

Trott and NDeX employees contributed funds and/or volunteered at the organization’s Detroit distribution center, helping Gleaners in its mission of distributing 45 million pounds of food to local residents in need each year. Throughout the course of three volunteer days, 60 employees donated their time to sort and pack food at the Gleaners’ facility. In addition to volunteering their services, the employees donated $5,365 to the cause. Trott and NDeX also contributed $1,000, bringing the grand total to $6,365.

“Gleaners Community Food Bank is an exceptional organization that has a profound impact on our local community,” Raff said. “It was an honor to be able to participate in such a deserving cause and help feed our neighbors.”

For more than 35 years, Gleaners has been nourishing communities by donating food to more than 600 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties.

The Gleaners initiative kicked off Trott and NDeX’s yearlong corporate giving program, which has previously benefited other local charities, including American Cancer Society, Oakland Family Services and Starfish Family Services.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., December 14, 2012 – Trott & Trott, P.C. (Trott), a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, joined with NDeX Michigan (NDeX), a leading provider of technology and processing services for law firms, to adopt 36 families this holiday season through Oakland Family Services’ Adopt-A-Family program. Trott and NDeX employees contributed funds and/or purchased items to go toward the adoption of 36 deserving families through Oakland Family Services, a private, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to strengthening families by providing quality treatment, education and prevention services throughout southeastern Michigan. Employees were divided up into teams and given a “wish list” from their families. The teams then purchased and wrapped gifts for their respective families, before delivering the items to Oakland Family Services on Dec. 4. In total, 270 employees from both companies donated hundreds of gifts and raised $1,100 for the cause. Trott and NDeX also matched their employees’ monetary contributions, bringing the grand total to $2,200.

“Oakland Family Services is an exceptional organization committed to helping those right in our own backyard,” Raff said. “We are proud to have partnered with them for the first time and have enjoyed helping make this holiday season brighter for many.”

The Adopt-A-Family initiative capped off Trott and NDeX’s yearlong corporate giving program, which benefited other local charities, including Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, American Cancer Society and Starfish Family Services.

The event featured 14 local merchants, including farmers, grocers and retailers, who advocated on the benefits of buying local and regional goods, and also provided Trott, NDeX and ATA employees with the opportunity to sample and purchase Michigan products. To further embrace the environmentally-friendly theme, attendees were provided with recyclable shopping bags decorated by the children at Bright Horizons, a community childcare facility with a location in the Trott Financial Center.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., October 1, 2012 – Trott & Trott, P.C. (Trott), a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, joined with NDeX Michigan (NDeX), a leading provider of technology and processing services for law firms, for a third consecutive year to support Starfish Family Services during their summer charity initiative. Trott President and Managing Partner David Trott made the announcement.

Trott and NDeX employees contributed funds and/or volunteer hours at Starfish Family Services, a nonprofit organization located in Inkster serving thousands of children and families annually in metro Detroit. Employee volunteers paired up in teams to paint several classrooms and facilitate an end of the season clean up in the nonprofit’s organic garden—harvesting crops, weeding and preparing the garden for fall. In total, 55 employees from both companies donated 220 volunteer hours and $2,245 to the cause. Trott and NDeX also matched their employees’ monetary contributions, bringing the donations grand total to $4,490.

“Our yearlong corporate giving initiatives have consistently allowed us to come together as a team to benefit many worthwhile causes throughout the area,” said Trott. “It has been a true honor to work with Starfish Family Services once again, and help local children and their families in need.”

For their fourth quarter charity initiative, Trott and NDeX will be working together to benefit the Oakland Family Services’ Adopt-A-Family program in the months of October, November and December.

Gersch spent the past year working as chairperson of Wayne State Law School’s Free Legal Aid Clinic, Inc., where she oversaw all aspects of legal services provided to underprivileged and indigent residents of Wayne County.

Challenge Detroit invites ambitious and dedicated individuals to live, work, play, and give in Detroit. The program offers each participant incentives to live in select areas of Detroit and pairs each participant with a host company that they will work with for a year. Thirty finalists were chosen to participate in the project from more than 900 applicants from around the world.

To qualify as a “Michigan Rising Star”, candidates must be 40-years-old or under and have been practicing for 10 years or less. Candidates must be nominated by a fellow attorney who has witnessed them in action – whether as co-counsel, as opposing counsel or through first-hand observation. An attorney-led research team then reviews each candidate and assigns points based on a set of defined criteria. Lawyers are ranked by the final point total and those with the highest totals are named to the “Michigan Rising Stars” list.

Melissa Byrd joined Trott in 2011 as a litigation attorney concentrating her practice in the areas of bankruptcy and mortgage creditors’ rights. Ms. Byrd earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn and her Juris Doctor from the Ave Maria School of Law.

Brian Yoho graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Erskine College and earned his Juris Doctor from Ave Marie School of Law in 2003. Mr. Yoho primarily practices loss mitigation.

Rana Razzaque serves as a litigation attorney for Trott, where her practice involves the mortgage and banking industry, real property and title issues in State and Federal Courts, including appellate work. Ms. Razzaque graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from McDaniel College in 2001 and received her Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2004.

Amy Neumann joined Trott in 2003 as a practicing attorney and co-manager of the litigation practice group with a concentration on mortgage banking, default servicing and real estate. Ms. Neumann graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University in 1998 and received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University School of Law in 2002.

Heide Myszak began with Trott in February 2001. Prior to becoming partner, she worked as a senior attorney in the Title Department for nearly five years. Myszak is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and earned her Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

John Kapitan joined Trott in December 2002 and has practiced law in the areas of bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation, bankruptcy reorganization and commercial bankruptcy. Kapitan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in aviation management from Oklahoma State University and received his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University where he graduated cum laude.

Kim Rattet has been with Trott since May 2002, where she served as a staff attorney before being promoted to supervising attorney in 2003. Rattet graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Eastern Connecticut State University and received her Master of Science in forensic science from the University of New Haven. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in litigation.
