Shopping, how very therapeutic !

Had a very interesting shift at work today. For those who don’t know, I work at a computer electronics store in England called PC World (Owned by DSGi). Now don’t get me wrong, I’m loving working at the store i’m at, but because its in the technology sector, you always get people who think they know better, and usually they don’t. I can remember a few months in I get this woman up to the service desk with a CD that had been split in half. What she had done is taped up the CD! I very promptly asked “did you put this in your CD drive?” And obviously she said no without a thought, but it was written all over her face that she did try. Another one was one my colleague got a couple of days ago.

When asking about virus protection, the customer replied “All this virus crap is a myth! I’m using spybot and i have never had an infection” whereas my colleague replied “because spybot is probably not finding the right type of virus” Now normally some people would try the argument that if its not finding anything, that must obviously mean that there isn’t anything to find. This guy just decided not to speak to my colleague and walked out of store. Bit of a weird thing all these virus protection firms are doing if they don’t exist ey!

A friend on another personal blog called Krammeh, made a post today basically saying he didn’t want to be a bum anymore (Post Is Here) Go have a chuckle at my simple rules of retail, and then come back and read the rest!

Good wasn’t it! I did that all by myself! Yeah!

Anyway guys that’s this weeks post… Hopefully i can get in a routine of doing this, possibly getting more and more content up as I go on!

While I was doing a set on eSports Radio I thought I would talk about what Andie posted on @esportsradio

It was a bunch of cinematic shots of the game series Uncharted. Now after looking at those i can remember playing sonic on the mega drive and thinking, “these graphics are amazing… what are graphics anyway? hmmmm” But after looking at how far a game like uncharted has come it is scary to think how life like cinematics, in games and films, have become. If you look at the FIFA series of games on the transition from PS2 to PS3 or Xbox to Xbox 360… its absolutely incredible.

But where now could the industry go? could it really make games look like as if you were there in person, or is that pushing it too far? Do you need to keep a clear border line between virtual reality and what we see in person? Personally I’m not too sure. I reckon it is possible, I just don’t know if we need to cross that border.

Its probably like how people felt moving from black and white TVs to colour. It’s getting very real very quickly
