Transgender Surgery – True Transgender, GLBT Story, The Mistake of a Lifetime. Good SRS Gone Bad

In 2007, I became a different member of the GLBT community, at least half of me did. I had MTF surgery and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It could have been prevented had I had a competent physician who would have adhered to the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care. Instead, my doctor bypassed the Harry Benjamin standards, had me all doped up on mass amounts of pain killers including Fentanyl patches when there was nothing wrong with me. Had she not had me on those, I would not have had the SRS Transgender MTF surgery.

Yes, I am very upset about this. How would you feel if your lesbian doctor helped convince you that you were not a gay or straight male but a lesbian trapped in a gay or straight male body? The level of pain medication that she had me on I am told, is the equivalant used in the last stages for terminal cancer patients.

What do you do when you are abused as a child and don’t know if you are GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual or Transgender? You constantly try to kill yourself, end up with disorders and then have a doctor with what now looks like an agenda, trick you into believeing you are transgender, and need SRS surgery to be alright.

My doctor and counselor were from the same clinic and knew I had not followed the Harry Benjamin standards of care like the big one, living full time for at least 12 months. I didn’t live as a female at all and they didn’t care, they wanted me to have the surgery so I wouldn’t be male and question my orientation anymore. That is what they hoped for.

If you are GLBT or questioning your sexual orientation, please be sure you have a doctor who subscribes to the Harry Benjamin Standards and follows them rather than just stating they do on the form so you can have the surgery.
