Toyota FT-86 The FT-86 is labelled a concept, but is expected to reach the road in 2011 alongside a Subaru-badged version. It's powered by Subaru's 2.0-litre boxer engine, which puts out 146bhp in current production form but should develop slightly more in future iterations. As we're well aware, the four-pot can be turbocharged to produce monstrous power outputs, but that would also put the price up: Toyota and Subaru are aiming to keep the cost as low as possible to attract younger drivers to the brand.

Toyota focused on keeping the weight down to improve handling and, according to one source, the platform is unique to the concept. The engine sits lower in the engine bay to aid aerodynamics while keeping the center of gravity in check, and the overall dimensions of Toyota's new 2+2 are 163.78 inches long and 69.29 inches wide, with a wheelbase of 101.18 inches.

For 2003, the MR2 Spyder underwent its midlife freshening with minor changes to the front and rear fascias and instrument panel. The SMT was upgraded to six speeds, while the rear tires grew to 16 inches.

My initial suspicions that the Mark X would replace the JDM Toyota Mark II appear to be correct, since the Mark II no longer appears on Toyota's Japanese website. The engine choices are the new 4GR-FSE 2.5-liter V6 and the 3GR-FSE 3-liter V6, just like in the JDM Toyota Crown Royal (and, most likely, the next Lexus IS). The Mark X is then most likely an alternative to the Toyota Crown Royal for one of Japan's 5 Toyota dealer networks that doesn't sell that model. It could also be seen as filling the narrow gap between the Lexus IS and GS, since it offers the upcoming IS engine choices in a GS-sized car (note that the V8 is NOT available in the GS-sized Mark X).

It is equipped with the 3.0-litre D-4D engine that already features in the Hilux Invincible, but thanks to a Toyota Motorsport diesel-engine performance kit, maximum output is increased from 171 Hp to 197 Hp and maximum torque from 343Nm to 430Nm. With the new power kit, the zero to 62mph acceleration time is cut from 13.0 to 10.5 sec.The special edition Hilux 3.0D-4D also features new 15-inch alloy wheels and stainless steel mesh grille while the cabin is finished in a special two-tone grey leather, with heated front seats. Sales will begin in the UK this summer.

In other words, the Venza's footprint on the pavement matches both Camry and Highlander closely. However, the overall height of 63.4 inches, the Venza slots right in the middle of the Camry and Highlander. It's ride height of fall somewhere in the middle, too.

2009 Toyota Venza has not published cargo volume for Venza, but it seems capacity will fall somewhere between Camry and Highlander. There is no room in the back of Venza as a second seat in the Highlander, which has enough space for the optional third, respectively. But in the back room with the Venza to Camry's trunk, and increased when the rear seats are folded flat. Some easy-to-use levers allow Venza's 60/40 split rear seats folded to the back of the rear hatch is opened, without running around on the side of the door first. Camry has independent rear suspension, even though it does not mean that the Venza.

We believe it is installed with the full front, side and head-protection airbags, with a little knee-protection bag for the driver. There are also new features Toyota STAR active safety system, which integrates anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, vehicle stability and control with Rollover mitigation system.
