I don't get it. Why does she act like that? I did see one episode in which Sandra snaped at this woman who's daughter was looking for a house.
Her mother said something about the noise and Sandra looked at her with look that could kill and say"the house doesn't face the street!"

You would have to see it to really fell the intensity of her voice.
I'm glad she's in Canada.

- Melissa

I came across this post when a friend asked what happened to Babel and I had no idea since I don't watch CP24 Breakfast.

Have to admit I had a good chuckle over the number of people who were unaware that CTV now owns CP24 and Rogers owns City. Also amazed that people didn't know that BT originated on City. It's been there since 1989 (originally hosted by Ann Rohmer and David Onley), nine years before CP24 launched in 1998.

- Ian

Comment on "Get Your Goddamn Flu Shot, Fred"

I don't know guys. I know ya'll are equally passionate about your positions for and against as Mike is.

I have had seven friends and friends-of-friends come down with it. They have all been terribly sick in a way that I am anxious to get the shot. We've had a few deaths here:

http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2009/oct/16/3-swine-flu-deaths-confirmed-in-hamilton/

My closest friend of the seven was bedridden for a total of 3 weeks. It was ugly. Sadly, he had to drop his college classes for the semester and was otherwise rarely sick, active and healthy. Of course, this affected his work as well.

Sure, we can bounce statistics and such around all day. It's the personal experience that got me anxious for the shot.

Besides, I think Mike's entitled to his passionate statements. He's not the type of blogger out there to please everybody and be completely PC 100% of the time. I read this blog, despite how I stumbled on it, because he's opinionated and writes with a passion many bloggers lack.

So, two points:

Personal experience = I'm getting the shot as soon as I can.

Passionate blogging = win, regardless.

- Jessie

DO CONSPIRACY BELIEVERS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO OTHERS?

I was a conspiracy theorist but have begun to notice both how strange they are beginning to sound and how selfish many act.

What changed my mind is that it dawned on me that pharm companies are far too good at making money to develop and distribute a vaccine that doesn't do what it's supposed to. It would effect their company's future. Imagine how it would devastate their future sales...they are too much about their investors and too much about increasing sales; the media would be all over the situ if they made a mistake like a vaccine that backfired. The most important thing to Pharm companies is that they make money (truly...do they care about us, I don't think so, but they do want to make stuff that works so they can make more $). Putting out a wrong/broken/untested product with this much media attention would be too much of a risk.

Sadly, conspiracy thinkers are troubled by their fear. And inaction is actually hurting others. My 8 year old daughter has asthma, her lungs can't take a simple cold, they just can't clear.

Thank-you for your blog, I was at a dinner party last night and my eyes were rolling back so far in my head I fell off the back of my chair, rolled down the hallway and down the stairs.

- Taj

MAG123 - if you care to refute the term "loophole" so be it. Regardless of the law, I would expect a company of CF's stature to have some morals or common decency or regard for it's customers. Hiding behind a law that allows a practice such as clawing back money from a gift certificate just because said gift certificate is good for multiple stores is cheap. Definitely, it's legal. However, there are many legal activities I would expect a reputable company to avoid. Whenever I'm in a store seeing someone asking about the CF gift certificate, I tell them my experience and remind them that cash is a great alternative. EVERY single person I've told has taken my advice. I'm up to 23 people told just at the Eaton Centre alone. I kind of enjoy it.

- Shaun McCarthy
