<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Join us for another TorDan Talk &#8211; featuring our special Guest Peter Bregg! Join us at Noonan&#8217;s on the Danforth on March 11th at 7pm!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over the past four decades, Toronto based photojournalist Peter Bregg C.M. has travelled to more than 80 countries. Mr. Bregg served at Rogers Publishing for twenty years until 2009 including chief photographer at Maclean’s for 17 years. He has also worked as a photographer and editor with the Canadian Press in Ottawa and the Associated Press in London, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC. He was the official photographer to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in 1984-85. also He taught photojournalism from 2009 to 2021 to senior journalism students at Toronto’s Ryerson University Journalism School.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">His assignments have included eight Olympic Games, Stanley Cups, World Series, Presidential trips, Vietnam in 1973, the Iran hostage crisis in 1979-80, and the imposition of martial law on the Solidarity movement in Poland in 1981. He was also in New York to cover the aftermath of 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in 2001. Mr. Bregg has been an active member of PhotoSensitive – a photo collective that uses photography to support charitable causes – since its founding in 1990. Since 2016 he has been to Iraq twice and once to Afghanistan.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To date, he has travelled to Africa over a dozen times since 2002 photographing HIV-AIDS related stories, water for WaterCan, eye doctors with ORBIS, Child Soldiers documentary with General (ret’d) Romeo Dallaire. Mr. Bregg while taking freelance commissions Peter Bregg has won numerous awards including a World Press Photo Award, NPPA Regional Photographer of the Year, Canadian Press Photo of the Year, Eastern Canada News Photographers Association Awards, a Canadian National Newspaper Award, and White House News Photographers Association Awards.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In 2014 Peter Bregg was the honored recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Journalism Foundation.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In 2016 Peter Bregg was awarded the Order of Canada.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Connor Taras is running to bring a fresh voice to Queen’s Park. With a proven track record of achievement in sport, business, and advocacy, he is dedicated to creating meaningful change for Toronto-Danforth.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Pan American Games medalist, Connor represented Canada as a high-performance athlete on the international stage. Here he used his platform as an 2SLGBTQI+ athlete to champion and advocate for inclusion in sport.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Professionally, Connor has built a career focused on creating opportunities for others. As former Vice President of Business Development and a MBA graduate from Queen’s University, he led workforce and skills initiatives, preparing Ontarians for meaningful jobs in the energy and technology sectors.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Drawing on his own experiences navigating affordability and building a career in Ontario, Connor is focused on delivering real solutions, including on housing affordability, public transit, and access to healthcare. Inspired by Bonnie Crombie’s vision for Ontario, he is committed to building a stronger, more inclusive future for all.</p>
