You may recall the previous blog entry about Jared&#8217;s Focus back in June where I stated that the car made 274whp on a stock ZETEC engine, well lets just say that we just blew that number out of the water.</p>
<p>We have always wondered how much harder we should push this motor, and finally got to the point where we decided the heck with it and do what we do best, boost the heck out of it. Jared has been driving this car for more than a year on what some people would call a &#8216;timebomb,&#8217; however anyone that has ever ridden with him would agree the car felt like it just wanted more.</p>
<p>The results speak for themselves:</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">As you can see, we had a little issue with the clutch, we are not sure why it desided to start slipping, but we do know it is! The car made 340whp and 338 wtq at 19psi on what is a completely stock internal production ZETEC engine. This is for sure one of the highest horsepower, if not the highest, documented stock internal ZETEC engine.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Top Speed has recently had the opportunity to test the Steeda GT500 Cold Air Intake System. The intake was installed on a 2008 GT500 that was completely stock before the test.</p>
<p>The installation went pretty smoothly, however, I feel like Steeda could have done more to make the product better, including attaching the MAF flange themselves, instead of making the customer do it. Steeda should also send a MAF Transfer Function for their intake like some of the other intake manufacturers, instead they just say that you can buy their tune.</p>
<p>The power that the intake made was close to what Steeda was claiming and was diffidently worth the investment.</p>

<p>Recently I had the opportunity to install a few parts and tune a 2008 Shelby GT500 for a customer of ours. The parts we installed where a  Steeda 2.7&#8243; Supercharger Pulley which adds about 3psi of boost and a Steeda&#8217;s Cold-Air-Intake to make sure that this supercharged pony could suck in all the air it needed. The installation of the pulley and intake where pretty straight forward, however, if you ever decided to tackle the pulley yourself, be sure to have the all the necessary tools.</p>

<p>We picked up <strong>113.3hp</strong> and <strong>107.18 ft-lbs</strong> of torque at the rear wheel, while keeping the tune conservative and using 93 octane. I am very pleased with the power output of this car especially for how little we did to the vehicle and I look forward to doing more like it in the future.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">So what is different?</span></p>
<ul>
<li>This new kit is considered a &#8216;tuner&#8217; kit, which means it comes with no fuel management. This will allow the customer to get the vehicle tuned by their local tuner using software that they are comfortable with. Top Speed does offer in-house tuning for this kit.</li>
<li>We have decided not to make the downpipe a &#8216;bolt on&#8217; unit, that way it can be used for both SVT and ZETEC models, any local exhaust shop should be able to tie this in very easily.</li>
<li>This kit is A/C and power steering compatible, it also allows for the use of stock fans!</li>
