With all the hype recently about the new Android 2.0 smartphones I've found it pretty hard to actually decide which one I'm going to get. Hopefully the side-by-side-by-side-by-side (well you get the point) comparison over at www.androidcentral.com will help. I love how they call the iPhone the iDon't....Hilarious! Now I just have to sell my new BB Tour, anyone interested?

Seriously?! Using Google voice to forward calls to yourself by adding your existing number to your "calling circle" or your "friends and family" plan. Brilliant!

How long will it be before this loophole is closed? I would imagine that the cell phone providers will add something to their TOS (Terms of Service) to make this a violation, and give them a reason to cancel your plan.

It looks like a simple software upgrade to some phones, TV's, computers, etc. will make them all Wi-Fi! Does that mean that companies have been holding out on us by forcing us to buy separate Wi-Fi cards when all this time it was a software fix?! What the EFF?

I hate navigating the options menu when I call customer service for ANY company. (Especially on my my Blackberry Storm, which I still have issues with)

So here is a very cool, very free website that can either show you the "options tree" to get you to the right department for the company you are calling or (now this is cool) call the company directly for you, and then call your phone when the call is connected.

Not only that, but then it will even record that call so when you get a less than helpful rep on the phone, you have proof.

Improvements to Gmail contacts

Another step in the "ultimate" sync process, woohoo! Gmail added fields to their contact manager. I guess I don't have to add birthdays and other random data to the notes field and mess up my contacts even more.

This will make things a lot cleaner and help with cleaning out your address book. My address book has SERIOUSLY been a mess since 1999 and I'm not kidding. Its getting better though, and now if the big G would just create a better duplicate remover, allow 2 way sync with every other email site, social network, desktop email program aaaaaaaaand make it all sync nicely to my Blackberry storm, the universe would be a much better place.

OR...maybe I should find a company that just specializes in data management and organization...any suggestions?

I'm officially the "real" tjallard...on Facebook that is.

My Facebook name grab is complete! Basically I got my facebook vanity url before anyone else did. If you haven't gotten yours yet, you better hurry. 500,000 names were registered in the first 15 minutes! Registration started at 12am on Saturday June 13.

The virtual land rush has become such a popular thing these days that people are grabbing their name at every possible social network...just in case. Just in case what? I have no idea, but I'm on the bandwagon doing my best to keep up with the Joneses.

My question is...how can I leave my name (tjallard) to someone when I die, or decide to change it? Who regulates all of this and stops people from jacking names before someone gets yours and hold it for ransom?

Where does all this end?

Google Notebook OUT....3banana IN

I used to love using google notebook, but the big G announced a while back, that they arebasically shutting it down.

" Official Google Notebook Blog: Stopping development on Google Notebook: "Starting next week, we plan to stop active development on Google Notebook. This means we'll no longer be adding features or offer Notebook for new users. But don't fret, we'll continue to maintain service for those of you who've already signed up. I've been looking for alternatives ever since, especially something that would allow me to sync my notes everywhere.

Looks like Google is getting closer to making a serious contact manager. Looks like they release a stand alone page that anyone can use, even if you are on hotmail, yahoo, etc. Not sure how this will turn out in the long run, but maybe this means they will release a sync client so that you can keep your Google contacts in sync with the other email providers. That would be perfect!

Facebook | Live Updating the Stream

Looks like Facebook is trying to go head-to-head with Twitter with "real-time" messaging. I wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing? Seems like so many companies are reacting to their competitors instead of innovating new stuff. I'm just hoping that Google decides to step with an application that can help me clean up the information mess that is my digital life.

Facebook, MySpace, Plaxo, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Isn't there one place that links them all?! Its like Pepsi & Coke, why can't they just play nice with each other? It would make life a lot easier.

New headshots, new jobs, and new office. thats right, Tallboy Films now has an office! (143 West 29th St. Suite 1101.) We've been building it out, and an office warming party is on its way. Stay tuned for details.

Wow, I made it through the holidays! I'm glad they are over it seems like the whole world shuts down during that 2 weeks span. 06 is here, and already its been an eventful year. I ended up in the hospital with food poisoning, stay away from Gristedes when you're in NYC.

Quick update....so much to post...so little time.
First off, check out my holiday spectacular show every tuesday night at
11pm at the upright citizens brigade theater

Second - my team uglystick is performin at St Marks Theater, its our
last show of the year! Please come out and watch us this Friday night at

stay warm.

I've been teaching a lot of Japanese students lately, and it looks like
my own Japanese skills will be up to par if I end up going there in
Feb.

Its a typical cold and rainy November day here in NYC. I've been walking
around in the rain, watchin all the people that forgot umbrellas. Its
amazing to me that no one ever looks outside before they go.

Wouldn't you bring an umbrella with you? Gotta love NY'ers.

The holiday season is officially here a few days early. Many stores have
the pre-holiday sales, and now is the time to buy, things are really
cheap right now. I just bought 2 Christmas gifts already.

Tonight I'm seeing some friends perform in a show, then its home to get
ready for a busy day tomorrow! More to come....

Seasons Change

I can't figure out the weather here in New York. It was in the 60's on Tuesday, and now its in the 20's today. No wonder everyone I know has a cold or the flu. I am not leaving my apartment unless I have something important to do, it is too cold out there. Plus I might end up getting sick, and I hate being sick more than anything else. (I'm sure I can find some other things that I hate more than being sick, but you get the picture.)

This weekend I'm off to Jersey to work on a commercial all day Saturday. Its an 8am call time, ugh! Although I do like getting up before most of NYC, there is something refreshing about walking the streets to get coffee when there is no one else around. i love it here!

That's right, the life of an actor in NYC is a random one sometimes.
Today, I'll be auditioning for a commercial starring me and monkeys!

Now I might not really have the best relationship with animals, but I
love monkeys!

After that, its off to enjoy the weather here in the city. Its over 60
degrees here and its November, that is not normal, but I'll take it.
