I don't like cars, anyone who has read this blog may well already know about that. Give me a choice between a car and bicycle to get from A to B any day and my preference would be a bicycle every time. However I do accept that this is now a car reliant world and many people just cant' manage without one. For those people there is a tip that I took originally from my bike riding but now is firmly a fashion in car accessories.

They are also more economical on the batteries and many can be charged up without the use of batteries. For a bike I have found they are functional, green, cheap and extremely effective for being seen on the roads.

The car versions of this are slightly different and more of a fashion accessory. They stand out from normal headlights and again are more than likely to turn head as you drive. Buying custom headlights is cheaper than you think for cars and like the bike version give a safer vision at night as well as being a trendy statement.

Tips are usually form people who have experienced things and found out advantages that other may not know. With this in mind it is a good idea to check out anything from people who have tried it before. Just as any example I was about to repaint my window frames on my house. I do it every two to three years and have always done it the same way. Local Insurance For Me Now After My Friend's Story

I have to admit I don't have house or personal insurance purely because I felt that I couldn't afford it. However after hearing what happened to a friend of mine who was in the same position their tip to me was to get insured now. This is not a advert for insurance, but a true account of a fate that could have been cushioned with it.

My friend is a business man and owns a small shop which is his home as well on the second floor. Everything he has is on the premises but not renewing his insurance for the property and contents was a cost cutting strategy that was caused by the recession. Oh what a bad decision and of course he is now looking at that decision that has ruined his life.

Only two months after he had not renewed his insurance he was broken into one night, all the valuable and much of the stock of his house and shop respectively was taken whilst he was asleep. Worse was to come, the thieves set fire to the shop before they left, but a sliver lining in the cloud saved his life as the fire alarms worked and he was woken by this and got out in time. Needless to say the building was basically destroyed and no compensation of the property or possessions. He is still counting the cost right now and trying to build up another business from scratch.

The first thing he did was to get a competitive business insurance quote to make sure that he is covered from day one. Living in Illinois he found that is was more prudent to gather quotes from Illinois business insurance sources. Here's a good tip for the home if you don't already use it. Here visitors never wear their outside footwear in the home. They don't need to be asked to take their outside footwear off it is done automatically as it it a traditional thing here in Bulgaria. I the UK this is not the case and I cant' understand why.

You home is your pride, the last thing you want is guests tramping muck from the streets onto you floor and carpets that you spend so long maintaining. In fact I now consider it rude and inconsiderate for any guest not to take their footwear off before entering the host's home. It is as simple as that.

Exam time is here and every little helps when revising or getting ready for the tests. It was a terrible time for me when I was a kid, I wasn't too bright and had a deep fear of exams. Directly the warmer weather was here the fear struck and even now at 50+ years old the association with warm weather and exams still hits out every year.

Revising was basically reading books when I was young. There was not other options other than that. No internet, videos or other multi-sensory learning options around at the time. Today things are different and learning is far more fun than it used to be. An in thing right now is having a go at a quiz to revise. What a fun way to hep you remember things this way.

It is funny how sometimes you learn things without even having to try. I never learnt to swim until I was 10 years old and will never forget the fear of water I had up until that time. The tip here is to teach your child to swim at the earliest age.

The best start for any child to have infant swimming lessons. Water safety is a very important life skill and is of course a lifelong skill that will never be forgot. It has been fashionable and sensible alongside, which is unusual to bring your baby up with swimming. This is a great idea and the fear of water never enters a child't mind from there on.

You can get a baby swim kit nowadays very easily form many stores and alongside a swim nappy, a towel you are set up. The rule is to take your baby to the water as many times possible and the length of time in the water you will know as the baby will let you know by getting bored.

You can start your baby off from the age of 2 months. Wait at least two hours after he or she has eaten. The swim nappy comes into its own and the packet is easily disposed of afterwards. Young children will automatically hold their breath underwater, which stops water to get into their lungs so you needn't worry about that up until they are about 6 months old.

A good practice is blowing on your child's face hard this will actually stop their breathing prior to a ducking with you preferably. Movement is the water is fun for your baby as long as you follow the comfort zone with your baby. This can be assessed by holding his or her body with both your hands. You will know instinctively what is comfortable and what is not that way. Using floating devices is a good idea as long as the child doesn't become dependent on it.

I am a keen photographer, no expert though, but I see many other people's photographs and see where they are going wrong so I have come up with 10 tips on how to improve your photographic skills and all very simple to take on board.

Blurry photographs are common, one way to solve this problem is to hold the camera steady when clicking. A simple remedy that many don't use. If you use both hands and relax your blurry images will decrease.

Can't see the faces of people when the sun is shining or screwed up faces with the sun shining in people's eye? Simply take the shot with the sun sidewards on or use a flash is the sun is behind them.

I've lost count how many time I have seen pictures that show people that are too far away. Get closer or use the close up if you have it on your camera. You dint' need to see the whole of people's body, the face is the main focus on portraits so focus on that and you will improve the interest in the shots.

Landscapes are fine, but sometimes a landscape needs a little more interest in it, so include a person within the scene. It will liven up the picture that would otherwise be quite boring.

Don't just take picture in good weather, bad weather is far more exciting and give great atmosphere.

Don't try and fit everything into the photograph, look for details of a scene and focus on that. In a crown of people, if you look carefully each person or little group will have far more photographic potential than the whole crowd.

A little pause before clicking will help you to be absolutely clear about what picture you want to take. Too many clicks are made without any thought about composition. I suppose that the digital camera speaking. If you just imagine you have an old film camera in your hand then you will improve your photography by not wanting to waste film. This is a good trick to help you take thoughtful pictures which will be guaranteed turn out better.

Chewing Gum - How Yo Get It Out Of Material and Hair

I used to hate chewing gum, seeing someone chew gave a bad impression. However chewing gum is actually a healthy activity and apart from choking on it (mind you you can choke on any food anyway) the only problem is the stuff getting stuck in the most annoying places. Here is a tip on how to get it removed.

To many chewing gum stuck on materials impossible to get off, this is partly right, I will explain. When chewing gum is is warm removing the chewing gum from a rug, carpets or other fabrics is a task too far; you need to harden it up before tackling it. By far the easiest way is to use ice cubes. Simply stroke an ice cube on the gum until it gets hard. enough. If the chewing gum is on a fabric that is small enough, i.e. clothing. You can then put the whole thing in the freezer until the gum has hardened.

It is still hard work to remove the chewing gum but certainly not a task too far. You may lose a few fibres form the item it was stuck to but salvageable with the ice treatment. If you take your time scraping it off you can get away will limited damage, so slow working is advised. You can always used another ice cube or another spell in the freezer if the chewing gum softens with the time spent on task.

If the gum is stuck in your or someone else's hair then the freezing method isn't a good idea. There is an alternative. Use a little cooking oil and rub it into the gum and hair area. Once applied and covered using a comb gently work the gum out by combing. Be gentle otherwise it can be quite painful.

The biggest tip though is to only use chewing gum for chewing and dispose of sensible. With Wrigleys chewing gum I always used to save the foil and wrap it in that before putting it in the bin.

The worse time of the day has to be when you have just woken up and have to get out of bed. For me the biggest hurdle is trying to drag myself away from my partner who I am normally cuddled up to when I wake up. The are many people who find it difficult to get up in the morning so I though I'd give some tips on how to make it easier.

If you are a couple, have to single beds rather than a double bed

If the floor is cold, place a rug or a mat that you will stand on by the side of the bed exit

Your alarm should play soothing music and have a snooze function

Leave the curtains open overnight and you should wake up to natural light in the morning

In the winter have a side light switched on in the morning and acclimatise to the light for ten minutes before arising

Buy an automatic teasmaid and use it. The sound of trickling tea in the morning is a great sound

Don't put your clothes on straight away use a dressing gown, it is so much easier to put on on when you're half asleep

Wear pyjamas at night, the cold firs thing in the morning will disappear

Think of your partner and make him\her breakfast while they snooze more, take it in turns to do this

Go to bed earlier, it is far easier getting up after an extended night of sleep

All these tips will help you get over the worse part of the day and yo never need to be late fro work again. I must admit the hardest tip is to have two single beds, but that's just me being a softie!

It has been the standard for many a year for homes to have storage heaters as ready to use hot water at any time seems a good system to have in place. Well I used to thing that my storage boiler switched on all the time was efficient. Tips on how to keep health teeth is definitely not being taken up by most people. Looking around me there are so many people with bad teeth it is quite disturbing. There are simple things to can do to ensure your teeth remain in good condition throughout your life. I must put my hand up and admit that at 51 years of age my teeth are in almost perfect condition. Apart from being hit with a cricket ball my teeth are good enough to see me through to my pension if I carry on with the practices I have been a lifetime's habit.

I put people who have bad teeth down to lack of education. So let me start to educate and give a list of the things I do to keep my teeth in tip top condition:

Visit your dentist for check ups and cleaning at least once a year (no surprise there)
Make sure your vitamin C intake is on pare with the recommended does each day
Drink tea whenever you get a choice of a hot drinks
Only carbohydrates to three times a day
Use a straw to drink cold soft drinks
Make sure you have a calcium intake daily (milk or cheese based products)
An apple a day not only keeps the doctor away, but the dentist as well
Go for whole grain bread every time
Finally, brush your teeth, gently for at least 3 minutes after each mealtime (Use an egg timer)
Don't smoke
If you play contact or ball sports, consider using a gum shield

If you follow these tips you will certainly ensure your teeth will not only last much longer, but will be healthier. The other benefit is of course that and you will have the choice of all foods with good teeth that can manage any type of food.

Martial Arts - Great, But Not All Are Based On Self-Defence

Here a tip if you like fighting as a sport and I am certainly one of them. Martial arts, boxing, wrestling Karate, I just love the all action, skills and sometimes the blood. Watching and following these sports contrary to some people's beliefs does not encourage violence outside the sport. It is a controlled environment and at the end of a day a sport that has far more credibility than many other sports which have no aerobic involvement.

There is a lot of following for fighting sports like I say and if you are also one of those who love the tangle of muscle, agility, as well as attacks then it is worth checking out websites that cater for that gender. there is one in particular that stadns out fromt he rest in terms of action packed updated news, info, pictures and links from around the world all about i.e. Mixed Martial Arts. I for one will be bookmarking it to keep up to date on these sports.

A word of warning though, this is not for the young who of course should be discouraged from having access to this kind of violence. Karate or a similar sport is fine, but some of the martial arts go beyond just self-defence and is a genre solely for adults.
